This family hotel was a real good Spanish experience. When booking a suite one expects some facilities as coffee making and a small fridge for room refreshments. A missed oppertunity.
Very well run and helpful staff. Beautiful location.
Very friendly owners, very good food and for the one night we were there - very quiet. Nothing
The peace and quiet of the surrounding areas Nobody spoke any English except the receptionist. Everything was in Spanish, including the menu, and the waiter spoke no English at all. We chose off the menu blindly because we couldn't communicate.
the receptionist was friendly and very helpful and the food was good the room was not clean or properly serviced on arrival-no towels, bathmat or robes however this was quicklt rectified
staff very kind, nobody speaks english really, only a lady, who is at reception sometimes, but it didn't seem to be a problem. we only stayed 1 night and had meal there. a lots of local typical spanish go there for a drink and food. it was a different authentic experience, we both loved the food. in your room you get mini toiletries, that was a nice touch. the spa was great too. It has 4 stars, but not in the sense of a sparkling city hotel. The location is great of you are using the motorway (just off) and has a castle you can visit on thursday mornings. no, for what we were looking for it was perfect
It's "different", interesting, a bit quirky! We enjoyed overall. Food "honest", local, friendly service. Not really.
There were four of us in the group and we did not like the hotel at all.We were the only ones staying at the hotel. The food in the restaurant was good but the breakfast was awful. The rooms and corridoors were dark and gloomy and not very clean. There was no fridge in the room (there was one once as there was space for it). Overall it was not a four star hotel - more like two star.Your pictures on the website are not accurate - the dining room you show is, in fact, not in use.
This hotel is opposite the Castillo de La Calahorra and is easy to find and well located Butter is not available for breakfast despite repeated requests for it. The accommodation does not occupy a palace-fortress dating from the 16th century, it is opposite it, and it's impossible to visit the castle without making a phone call which the reception staff refuse to help with.
Very well ocated for the castle, but only open Wednesdays AM/PM, not much else to do other than taking in a very rural yet interesting Spain village
great room with a view of the Castle on the hill and the hills in the distance, did not eat in so cannot comment on food nothing
view from our room was awful . it was suppose to be a stunning view , we just got a hill with lots of rubbish on it
The apartments are amazing, quiet, great views, excellent value for ~50 Euro! The hotel is 1-2 km from town, we did find a path the last day to avoid the road, but it is meant for those with a car. Some laundry soap would be nice. Also the pool was still being filled the day we arrived (1 June).
Excellent location. Very friendly and helpful manager. Good dinner menu, well cooked. The rooms were a little dark and uninviting
Excellent friendly, helpful staff. Beautiful setting with superb sunset views of distant hills, great swimming pool for cooling off after hiking, quiet tranquil little village. Apartments were basic but rustic with a lot of charm, nicely decorated. Restaurant was very good, hearty meals at a good price. Very keen to go back nex year
The serenity of the environment and the cleanliness of the hotel were first class. We got automatically upgraded one category since most rooms were not occupied. The remote key to open the gate at night did not work so we had to climb over the gate to operate the key from the inside. That was OK for us but I can imagine less mobile people to have an issue (and there was no number to call to solve the issue at that time of night).
Very nice room, clean and comfortable. Nice balcony from wich it was possible to watch the nice mountains view. Nice staff, very kind. The resaurant meals are very good and cheap.
location, service, cleanliness, decor, everything about the place was lovely thank you no
Nice hotel, good coking, wonderful surroundings, nice and helpful people in the hotel , interresting old town,
This was the most pleasant stay in all our trip in Spain. Even though it was not a very luxurious hotel, the personal attention we got from the owners was formidable. All rooms have balconies with exceptional views. We will definitely try to come back to the Almirez and stay longer next time. It takes only 40 minutes to nice beaches, if you want to combine both swimming and the relaxation in the mountains. There was nothing we did not like
Very friendly staff, that made us feel at home right away. Room was functional and the balcony lovely. The food in the restaurant was excellent.
The room are clean. The restaurant serves good food and not expensive at all. Except the good food, the red wine de la casa is not drinkable (maybe just this bottle). The isolation between rooms are very poor, we can hear clearly what is happening next door, even when people switch off the light or snoring.
Stunning location within Las Alpujarras among vineyards, almond trees and olive trees. Family run and pleasant staff. Good wholesome food. Reasonably priced.
Lovely situation with good views from the balcony. Very friendly & attentive staff. Good standard of meals. Excellent value Room was slightly smokey.
I don't know excactly what it is, but the hotels location, the wonderful owners, the atmosphere, makes this hotel the best place for us to stay, and overgoes the most expensive luxurious hotels for me, because of its authentic atmosphere. It is perfect for walks in the Alpujarras. We would love to come back
We stayed one night on our honeymoon traveling through Spain. The hotel was small but staffed with very friendly people. Their restaurant is fantastic. Do heed other traveler's notes about access -- it was a challenge navigating the VERY narrow streets to the hotel's parking lot, but it was manageable with a planned route and the assistance of a spotter.
The view is extraordinary. You need a small car to reach the parking.
