friendliness of staff
My wife was on crutches and the owners and staff were very helpful and the food was excellent. It was a very relaxing time for us as we were very stressed when we arrived. We had alovely day on the Cambrian Line railway and went to Pwllheli. All in all a truly nice time was had by both of us.
Delightful, quircky hotel. Excellent customer service and food.
Very comfortable. Very courtuesy staff. Very nice food. Nothing.
Lovely welcome, warm and cosey.Bed very comfortable.Views fantastic, food good. very clean...We will be back!! Slightly small bathroom but ok for 1 night.
Castle with sea view
Very friendly staff. Excellent evening meal and breakfast. Lovely views from our top floor turret room. No bad points
The location, availability of parking, peacefulness. I was disappointed to discover no face soap or body lotion provided. As these were always provided previously I had not brought my own so really didn't enjoy using liguid hand soap for my face. Also, the very flimsy shower curtains made the shower a less than pleasant experience - having them continuously clinging to my body while trying to shower, knowing that they likely had clung to the previous occupant of the room was quite disgusting.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, and had lovely views with a good location (though about a 10 minute walk into the main centre of Barmouth)
Eating in the dining room - excellent food and relaxing surroundings.
Excellentl location, pleasant efficient staff, wonderful food with wide choice of menu.
Beatiful room with beautiful view None
good room with view of the lake in front of the hotel. very quiet and relaxing atmosphere.
We have stayed at this hotel a number of times. Fabulous location with stunning lake and mountain views. Excellent food. Service collapsed when resteraunt was two thirds full. We were seated for dinner at 9.15 having booked for 8. Next day it took an hour to get through breakfast. Hopefully a one off glitch and wouldn't stop us returning
The location was great - overlooking a lake Room was too small, bed was too small and uncomfortable. bathroom was long overdue for a refurbishment. Restaurant was not very pleasant, breakfast was unimpressive. Glad we didn't book in foir an evening meal there
Excellent food very helpful friendly staff None noted
Position by lake friendliness of staff Cost of evening meal with no choice but three courses. No maps of area or walks available No information on local road closure which meant vey long detour
Beautiful location. Public rooms very light and airy. Delicious freshly cooked breakfast. We were greeted with Welsh scones and fresh milk on arrival - a nice touch. The room was a very small double and in order to make some room to place the overnight bag (yes it was that small) I had to move a chair and it was obvious that funiture hadn't been moved, to clean behind, for a long time. Ditto areas in the bathroom. Our main gripe was that there was a large velux skylight, in the sloping roof, with no blinds fitted, hence we were greeted by the dawn at 4.30am!!!
The location is absolutely fantastic! The view is breath taking wherever you look. Perfect if you want to get away from busy life and charge your batteries. The additional bed which was requested when booking didn't arrive till late in the evening when kids were tired and wanted to go to sleep.
Lovely welcome, friendly staff. Very helpful man in the fishery - thankyou
Breakfast was excellent. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable with a comfortable duvet. Following on from discussions with other guests I would recommend staying in Rooms 2 or 3 only. We knew that the room was an attic room but did not expect the shower to be so very cramped and to leak so badly. We were told on arrival that the people the prevous week had left the shower curtain outside the shower and so it had leaked. However this was not the case, the shower was faulty. Attic rooms are not necessarily so very small. I did not appreciate the frayed bath towel. I do not see how this room gained four star AA status. It was really a single room. The price did not reflect this.
I liked the personal touches such as water and fruit in the room, caring things. No, it was very well presented
Friendly owners. Excellent location. Superb breakfast.nice little touches.
The location of M H offered a fantastic view and the rooms were beautifully decorated. Both the owners were personable and gracious. The food was also good. The third floor rooms did not have windows low enough to appreciate the view. The plumbing needs updating.
Everything...food comfort and friendliness of staff
Most splendid views, very comfortable room and delicious breakfast
The upgrade to our room with the sea view from the bedroom. Nothing - we had a very pleasant stay.

The location is great, very quiet, just what we needed for a weekend away and the breakfast choices were brill and very tasty.
The Guest House was very clean, well appointed and comfortable. The owners were very friendly. Nothing.
The veiw from the bedrooms and staff plus the food
Will book again next year, great value and lovely hosts
the views from the room were brilliant, cleanliness and drinks availabality in the room, david and heather were very nice the tight turn into the driveway and not being able to book an evening meal
the view from the room. n/a
Location was ideal, the staff were friendly and helpful, the guest house was well kept with excellent facilities, personal touches meant a lot and the view from our room was breathtaking.
I liked the spectacular views from the bedroom and dining room. Also the hearty Welsh breakfast. Walks can be done from the guest house front door and with the train station nearby you do not need a car. The room was comfortable and spacious. Minor things were the shower being a bit pokey and a slightly less than comfortable mattress.
Outstanding view from room. Clean and best decor. Good breakfast. None
The owners are very friendly and helpful. They make you feel like home.amazing food, beautiful views, great location of the hotel. All in all the best b&b I have stayed so far and believe me, I stayed in lots of places. Also, Barmouth is a great place to stay for a short break in Wales. No bad points really. The only tricky thing is the drive to the hotel but once you reach it,you won't regret it!
The location had excellent views and if you like walking you could do numerous walks direct from the hotel without using your car.
