Very peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, a great alternative to the normal tourist accomodation, good facilities.
Tranquility, setting, unexpected in Tenerife. Beautiful gardens, historic building. Did not get the room we booked, barely adequate response by owner. Catering facilities poor and no food or drink allowed in rooms. Drive required to nearest restaurants.
It is really authentic place - the farm were the family used to live for centuries. You look at the old images on the walls of public living room and you can see continuity. If you look around, you can see a lot of small details, preserved with love and care. We liked walking along long pathways of banana plantation and look at billows on a small private beach between high cliffs. There are beautiful places for walking near like nature park of Teno or canyon of Masca. And the town of Garachico has a special old small town charm. We recommend to eat at simple local places like Daute and Trasmallo where food is cheap, simple and tasty. For me personally, living in Rural El Patio, was like to live at somebody's home.
Well maintained rural hotel, impressive building and very nice gardens. Superb location if you plan sightseeing and relaxation rather than beaching. Free sport facilities (tenis, ping-pong). Thanks to Marta for the excellent info about restaurants and places to visit in the area. No AC, telephone in rooms.
Beautiful grounds and very serene with a good tennis court and pool. Dinner isnt available every night but its only a 5 minute drive into Garachico for restaurants. Wonderful place to chill out for a few days. We hope to return again some day A room-fridge would have been nice.
quiet place, there are no resturants opened close to the hotel at night, need to take the car
Exceptional location, peace and quiet in a wonderfully maintained historic building. Management and staff very pleasant and extremely helpful both generally and in adversity (volcanos and ash clouds etc). Highly recommended (ignore previous reviewers comments about food; this is a fine country hotel).
Historic converted finca set in the middle of a banana plantation. Superb gardens, friendly staff, tranquil location, excellent value.
Our stay at El Patio was our most enjoyable experience in Tenerife. The place has character, style and historical interest. It is very well located for touring the North West and beyond.
Lovely hotel set in beautiful surroundings - very quiet and peaceful - good breakfast. Did not have dinner so cannot comment on food in evenings.
Fantastic building, like living in a museum. Beautiful town, but you really just want to stay in the hotel because it's such a nice place. The courtyard is wonderful as a place to relax. Confusing check-in-area - a souvenir shop. In order to prevent customers from wandering about in the hotel the doors were closed, - but that made it feel a bit strange for hotel guests to go in and out. Our room was quite small with a big cupboard not used for anything but having the tv on top of it. It took the floor-space that was left, we wanted to remove it from the room. The hotel restaurant had good food but a bit "strange" athomsphere.
Helpful staff, attractive room and elegant, characterful and comfortable communal spaces
Guarachico Room very dark, a slight wiff of sewage, drains need attention
the hotel was really great. very quiet.
Excellent location in historic centre of an interesting little town. Hotel itself is of historic interest but incorporates lots of modern design features. We also had an excellent, beautifully presented, dinner. Nothing - it suited us very well.
Hospitable and helpful staff. Good view over town square. Coffee aside, excellent breakfast. Attractive building. Breakfast coffee rather gruesome. A tad expensive.
friendly and helpfull staff no
Smart, stylish hotel in a quiet little town. Excellent place to stay for one or two nights. Bedrooms are small but very well finished with quality furnishings and fittings. It was quiet when I was there in late January - but maybe that'a plus.
excellent ambience - a beautifully converted old finca, with its position next to the central square no parking arrangements
the balconies, the courtyards, the position by the town square parking difficulty, but that's Garachico
Location is excellent in Garachico with beautiful views and terrace. Very helpful and friendly owners and pleasant spa.
Nice roof terrace with ocean view. OK breakfast. Super clean. Our room was dark, hemmed in and had a done on the cheap look. The curtains had to stay closed as our window looked right onto a public area. Despite the lovely roof terrace and the efforts of some staff, the hotel had an institutional, uninviting, big brother is watching type of atmosphere. Very poor price paid/enjoyment obtained ratio.
Small familiar hotel, nice and very helpful people, good service, clean, good restaurant tips, nice town and environment, close to the sea
The location is superb, right by the seafront and it reflects the quieter nature of northern Tenerife. The second floor sun terrace is an ideal spot to soak up the rays and the views. Its classification of Casa Rurale is spot on as, although it's at the front of the village resort, it's essentially simple and very comfortable. The hospitality and friendly efficiency enhance a charming emvironment. Cleaning standards are first class with bedding etc changed daily.
Wonderful location and really friendly staff. Excellent base to chill out and enjoy the local restaurants. Could not fault it.
Good location in small, attractive town with excellent restaurants nearby. Friendly and helpful management and staff. Well appointed and clean rooms. Good variety of continental style breakfast. Room on ground floor next to breakfast area was not so private. Advertised "24 hour reception" meant in practice telephoning the resident owners. Rather expensive for an up-market B&B.
Fantastic hotel. Very friendly and helpful owners, helped with all aspects of our holiday. Great location with stunning views from the terrace. Rooms a mix of traditional and modern giving a nice boutique feel. We had the best possible stay and look forward to returning. Mark and Michelle.
We had a great time at Gara Hotel. The owners and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is charming and located at the ocean front and only a few steps from restaurants an shops in the town centre. Garachico is a pretty town away from the main tourist areas.
1The owners were very friendly, eager to help and gave very good recommendations to restaurants and hiking trips. 2. The atmosphere of the hotel -unique and warm The toilet in the room was a little and old styled.
Tenerife anders, ver van massatoerisme.Best is een auto te huren om de unieke omgeving te verkennen.
The location of the hotel was very peaceful and the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. It's a good hotel for people who want a bit of peace and quet and enjoy hiking and nature. The hotel was filled with only German (+40) tourists which was a bit weird but on the other hand they were very quiet and calm so it didn't really bother us.
Very fine apartment, clean, new, with kitchenette and nice private sitting area outdoors.
We liked the whole design with its "cottage-style" accommodation (which included kitchenette cupboard with microwave, refrigerator etc); the wonderful setting with mountains and sea as a backdrop; the pool and the landscaping; the herb garden and the boules area; the buffet breakfasts and splendid dinners and the unpretentious friendly ambiance created by an enthusiastic, well-chosen team of staff.
The pool was lovely and having a kitchenette a full size fridge were great. We had a suite but didn't need it as the rooms were big. Breakfast was excellent. It was good to be close to the Teno mountains and the hotel had a free map with suggested walks. The hotel was run for Germans who liked walking and we were the only non German residents. Not a problem for us but the hotel was not very spanish.
quiet, superb suite with seaview, safe, well trained personnel decoration and illumination of the terrace restaurant is poor, yellowish light from sort of street lamps project a diffuse light, you can hardly see what you are eating - could do better for a hotel of theis category
nice suites/ rooms in a form of charming houses, spa - uncrowded after 7pm, relaxing place, good point for hiking, excellent dinner it is isolated, no cafes around and places to go out, a car needed (better a small one since streets are narrow and mountains to go through)
My husband and I stayed just one night at Hotel Luz Del Mar (we were on holiday in the south of the island) but found the staff to be both friendly and extremely helpful to the extent that the beauty therapist stayed after her evening shift to give me a foot massage on what was a very painful heel. The room was spotless and the swimming pool divine after a very hot day. We enjoyed the a la carte menu in the dining room.
