Beautiful hotel in beautiful setting. The rooms were very nicely decorated and homely. Staff were very friendly and helpful/
Staff were always polite and helpful. Facilities and food were excellent. There was an easy, relaxed atmosphere which allowed us to unwind in comfortable, warm surroundings.
The close proximity to the Castle and Town.
The room we used..Castle.. was small and is need of updating as is the rest of the Hotel....in particular all the floors and doors creak....the outside Garden room we were offered was cold...we were subsequently offered an "upgrade" to the Castle room!
The food was pretentious and inadequate. It certainly did not add up to a satisfactory Dinner. On the second evening I went out to eat.
staff surly and rude.Accused by manager of smoking in room. Nothing said until we got home and a £60 charge taken without authorisatain from from our credit card. When challanged added extra room rate of £195 as he alledge couldn't re book room.I have taken action with bank under data protection act how they could debit my card without authorisation.
