There was a rotted banana in the bin (not ours), but otherwise completely swank hotel!!! Outstanding experience!
The rooms were beautifully decorated. Each floor has an invidual motif. The staff at check in were courteous and efficient. I enjoyed the experience of choosing the style of room on an iPad.
While waiting for staff to fix my door (keycard would not work), I decided to wait at the main bar on the top of the hotel. one side was marked for a private party, one wasn't. I went to the unmarked side, ordered a drink, and as I was about to pay, the bartender asked if I was part of the event. I told him no and he said that he couldn't serve me and took the drink away. I informed him that I was a guest of the hotel and that this area was not marked as reserved. His manager apologized but asked me to leave. This added insult to injury of being locked out of my room. Were it not for an early flight and the hotel's free shuttle, I would have checked out that instant. Furthermore, the hotel is poorly located in the middle of a boring residential neighborhood. It may be a good value for anyone about to travel but the device and amenities do not merit 5 stars.
Amateur front desk staff and missing informations
Front desk staff was very responsive. Hotel architecture, floors, rooms, etc are amazing. Never saw anything like them!
The restaurant staff was terrible. We were two businessmen dressed in suits. We entered the restaurant at 9:15 pm; It was not busy but had a number of tables with patrons. We walked out at 9:40, having gotten not so much as a glass of water, or even a nod in our direction, let alone an "Ill be right with you." Instead the 3-4 waiters and the captain never even made eye contact with us. So we went to the desk and got a recommendation to a very good restaurant right down the street.
Facilities, food, service

Very ecological Staff was very friendly Staff was always helpful Very unique floors Excellent breakfast
I wished the room's shower had had a door for privacy (second floor)
Cool design, friendly staff, good restaurant, close to airport
slow wi-fi, no workspace for business traveler, small gym
The Hotel Puerta Amrica is a space that invites people to dream. A project that has brought together nineteen of the best architect and designer studios in the world and has the luxury of having three Pritzker Prizes, the Nobel of Architecture (Norman Foster, Zaha Hadid and Jean Nouvel). Each of its 12 floors plays with different materials, colours and shapes to create astonishing spaces for the senses, a sensory experience. In essence, a unique hotel, a museum to sleep.
