Pros: Everything about this place was amazing
Cons: I have no comokints
Cons: Need some hangers in the room
Pros: I loved the themed rooms and breakfast it was so fun. The location is great and they have fun amenities like a mineral hot tub.
Pros: The staff is welcoming and very nice. The home is absolutely beautiful and very comfortable. Our room was quiet and you could stay to yourself if you wanted or you could mingle with other guests in the common areas. The bathroom and room were clean. The breakfast was delicious and we had a wonderful conversation with other guests. The view was stunning. The air conditioner was wonderful!!! We will definitely be coming back
Cons: The only thing was the shower head only had two settings. The first one felt like there was no pressure and the other one was a little hard on the head. Not a big deal
Pros: Owner were very nice and attentive. House was very nice. Our room was fantastic.
Pros: The food was excellent and great choices to pick from. The area was very beautiful. Staff very friendly and there to help with any requests big or small. I will recommend it to all my friends and family.
Cons: There was nothing to dislike except for health reasons the stairs were a challenge but I wouldn't change a thing as that would take away from the good vibes of the house. It was beautiful just the way it is.
Pros: We liked everything nice and peaceful and relaxing!
Pros: Absolutely loved the theme rooms and all the bad carved furniture! No expenses spared here! The phantom room was a mirror image of the movie with the #5 box theater and the phantom behind the mirror and the spiral stair case behind the bookshelf
Cons: The only thing I didn’t like was we stayed one night would have loved to stayed longer!!
Located in McCammon, The Harkness Hotel is within a 15-minute drive of Lava Hot Springs Olympic Swimming Pool and Water Park and The South Bannock County Historical Center Museum. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: I loved the history, architecture and renovations. The staff was very accommodating. I had a massage at the spa...very relaxing. Looking forward to staying again in 2020 when the owners plan to open a restaurant in the same building.
Cons: I loved everything about this hotel...the history, the renovation. Just the location is pretty remote and I did not find outside activities in town. No elevator or bell person.
Pros: Great room
Cons: Train noise
Pros: Our room was beautiful! It was decorated city chic, with beautiful lights and modern furniture. The bathroom had an immaculate soaker tub and large rain shower. The lobby had unbelievable coffee machine. As you walked into the lobby you smelled the fresh coffee beans. We made the most delicious dirty chai lattes.
Pros: Spacious rooms; beautiful interior. Fantastic coffee machine and well equipped kitchen.
Cons: Need another comfy chair in living area; especially if there are 6 people.
Pros: Staff was very friendly. The hotel is awesome, updated interior with beautiful rustic floors. Loved the espresso machine! Perfect get away after soaking in the hot springs! Will definately come back.
Pros: It was a very modern rustic, and the local businesses were very friendly.
Cons: The town is very small, part of it's charm, so everything closes very early, so getting food late was difficult, we had to go to a nearby truck stop.
Pros: Very nice rooms, shower was great, check in staff was very courteous and friendly, also likes the texts and directions ahead of arrival, comfortable beds
Cons: Pillows i
Pros: Comfortable beds, quiet room and awesome rain shower head! The Couples massage!!!
Cons: The odd smell in the lobby and The plastic uncomfortable clear chairs in the room.
Pros: Bed was AMAZING! Coffee machine was the best, ordering one for my home!!!!! Staff was OUTSTANDING!
Cons: The location isn't very close to anything! A pool or hot tub in a common area would be perfect.
Pros: Rooms felt luxurious.
Cons: Neighborhood. The hotel was the only nice thing in the whole town, it felt out of place.
Located in Lava Hot Springs, Home Hotel Lava Hot Springs is within a 5-minute walk of Lava Hot Springs Foundation and The South Bannock County Historical Center Museum. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: This room was so amazing, and everyone was so friendly and helpful!!! Will definitely be back!!!
Pros: Bath tubs
Cons: Refrigerator not working
Pros: Friendly staff, good location, room included a refrigerator which was a happy surprise.
Cons: Tub very slippery
Pros: Older facility, but they take care of it, and it was well air conditioned, queen beds or better than some ie a bit stiff....location was super..we will be glad to stay there next time in town...
Cons: As I said, the bed was a bit stiff..pillows were really firm too..but I had 5 of them per bed! Wow!
Pros: Access to all the attractions. The staff.
Cons: How small the rooms were and the loud air conditioning.
Pros: It’s close to the hot springs and it wasn’t far from shopping
Pros: A 1 minute walk to the hot springs. Friendly staff really nice rooms for a older hotel.
Pros: Great communication with front office staff; free, light provisions at the front we're much appreciated; big tub for private mineral bath experience;gorgeous location
Cons: Could be updated
Pros: Large soaking tub
Cons: Pool was extremely small, hotel was not very clean. Towels smelled bad.
Cons: It should be noted there is no elevator
With a stay at Aura Soma Lava in Lava Hot Springs, you'll be within a 5-minute walk of The South Bannock County Historical Center Museum and Lava Hot Springs Olympic Swimming Pool and Water Park. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The location, the staff was helpful and friendly
Cons: The pictures were deceiving. The room smelled musty and like mildew.
Pros: Liked the fridge and microwave
Cons: Hairdryer only had a low setting
Pros: You can't beat the location of this hotel. In the middle of the town, on the main street, across from a tube rental location and next to a restaurant. The room is small but it does have bunk beds plus a queen bed.
Cons: I wish the room was a tad bit bigger but we were only there to sleep so we made due with what we had.
Pros: Stay there all the time love this hotel
Cons: The air conditioner didn’t work properly and the noise from the room to the outside was obnoxious. There were no other rooms available. The pillows and beds are hard and uncomfortable. The front desk personnel called the owner for a refund and wouldn’t work with us. We do not recommend this hotel.
Pros: This was the Most Amazing Place. Location ,Staff, Little House was TOTALLY GREAT!! WILL BE COMING BACK! The House was Decorationed So Cute & Supplied with Everything U could Need
Cons: The Hot Pond Pool needed Cleaned!! Twigs,Leaves ect where in the Pool Both Days we went
Pros: Hot pool and location to restaurant.
Cons: Very cramped room.
Pros: Gorgeous update to bath. Right in the center of town. Walking distance to hot baths. Negotiated discounts with local merchants. Wide variety of accommodations available including tiny houses...what's not to like?
Cons: Window air conditioner in our room must be at the end of its life cycle as it had difficulty keeping up. We could see other rooms with newer units in place so must not havebeen "our turn"!
Pros: My room had a mineral water jacuzzi. Legendary. As well as the private hot spring on the property next to the river.
Cons: I have no issues, I will be back.
Cons: THE ROOM WAS NOT CLEAN. I DID NOT RECEIVE A CALL BACK FROM MANAGEMENT ABOUT MY COMPLAINT. I DID NOT RECEIVED ANY DISCOUNT.
Pros: We liked the location
Cons: We didn't like that there was not a table/desk in room to put laptop or place to have lunch. It was a really hot day and they didn't have umbrellas on patio tables to sit outside during day, absolutely no shade. The patio wasn't private enough, a table w/umbrella may have helped with privacy. Around 9:3am there were 3 men sitting on patio in front of OUR door, smoking and drinking beer almost the entire day. It was quite icky. The smell of smoke and listening to loud men talk. Also, the motel didn't have an ice machine, to get ice for our cooler or our sodas. And the shower was dirty. Also, it would have been nice if the outdoor pool had lights around pool, don't like swimming in the dark.
The Riverside Hot Springs Inn & Spa is a boutique hotel in downtown Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. It’s an adult hotel that has a full service spa on-site. The hotel was built in 1914 and is included on the National Register of Historic Places. The hotel has kept that old school charm but added some modern amenities for a comfortable combination of old meets new. The hotel only has 18 rooms and each is decorated in its own unique way. Only children 16 years of age and older staying with parents are permitted at The Riverside Hot Springs Inn & Spa. It’s considered an adults only hotel. The rooms have air conditioning, free WiFi, ceiling fans, and most have TVs with cable channels. Guests staying at this hotel will have the added security of the outer doors being locked after 11 p.m. It can still be accessed by those who have room keys, however. On the ground floor level of The Riverside Hot Springs Inn & Spa is The Portneuf Grille & Lounge. This is an award-winning restaurant that has been featured in different publications. The cuisine is inspired by the local area and region of the country. There are steaks and seafood, as well as vegan choices and gluten-free. Breakfast can be chosen from Café & A’more in the lobby. Guests who want to get out and explore a little more will find there are also some good choices around town. The spa at the hotel has many treatments that can be booked for a very relaxing day. There are, of course, the Hot Mineral Springs for guests to visit. The Riverside Hot Springs Inn & Spa has its own indoor soaking rooms with hot mineral water flowing all the time. The area is also home to some great fishing. For those looking to get out a little further from the hotel, Jackson Hole, Teton National Park, and Yellowstone National Park aren’t far away. For adults looking for a quiet, rejuvenating place to get away to, The Riverside Hot Springs Inn & Spa is a great place for doing that. The hotel has a lot of history and character, and the area is beautiful with plenty of things to see and do.
Pros: I loved the charm of this hotel. The setting was beautiful and the hot mineral soak were wonderful. The staff was welcoming and helpful with our late arrival. I would love to return some day.
Pros: The location was right in the middle of town. However, it is right next to a VERY BUST TRAIN track. It runs ALL HOURS of the night.
Cons: Hotel needs renovation! It says its been renovated but its a mess. Seperate portable a/c units that have vents taped to windows to vent and have to be run all night with a loud sound. This hotle is a mess and HORRIBLE customer service. Don't stay here
Pros: The hot tub
Pros: The staff and the location. Comfortable stay
Cons: No little fridge in the room
Pros: We could not have been happier with our reservation, the scenery or anything else about our stay at the Riverside Inn and Spa. Fantastic people, beautiful location and wonderful dinner. To our surprise we were upgraded to the junior suite...the room where Teddy Roosevelt stayed during his trip(s) out west!
Cons: I wouldn’t change a thing.
Cons: They never made my bed after first night took my towels put a fresh one. Or emptied the garbadge cans
Pros: Cool historic building, updated bathrooms. Restaurant on site had great food!
Cons: Room was small and dingy. Bed wasn’t the greatest. They need to put the same TLC into the rooms as they have in the updated bathrooms. Not a knock against the hotel and my opinion only, but we were hoping there was more to see and do in the area. Lava Hot Springs was as small and dingy as the room we booked there. Great location, loads of potential, but disappointing overall. If you need a place to stop for the night on your way somewhere else or wish to only take in a soak at the hot pools, maybe this is your place, but not the destination we were hoping for.
Pros: Super comfy beds. Great food.
Cons: Inadequate parking.
Pros: This place is very old, but they are maintaining it very well. Has a great restaurant on the bottom floor for dinner, and a quaint little breakfast cafe. Homemade pastries... mmmmmmmmm Hot pools inside and 1 out. :)
Pros: enjoyed breakfast and suite we stayed in.
Cons: Maps to find the place are very limited in accuracy
Pros: Staff very friendly! Room and bathroom clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good.
Cons: The hot tub indoors needed a little face lift. Replace odd chairs with a teakwood bench a little paint. Have more than one available.
Pros: Breakfast was very nice and quick. Service and friendliness of the staff was great.
Cons: Earlier check in would be nice. 3PM is late for a check in. We tried to check in a 2PM and were turned away.
With a stay at The Suites of Lava Hot Springs in Lava Hot Springs, you'll be within a 5-minute walk of The South Bannock County Historical Center Museum and Lava Hot Springs Olympic Swimming Pool and Water Park. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Good staff service
Cons: The rooms are in old condition and the bathroom is extremely small. The power went out when using AC and hair dryer were used at the same time; however, we were not told about it at check-in.
Pros: Just right in town Clean Full apartment
Cons: The 1 thing I didn't like is that it is right next to a bar and the bar plays such loud music that you can feel the vibration of the base while lying in bed. They play the music until about 1:00 or 2:00am. But with the air conditioner and a floor fan in the room and ear plugs I was able to sleep fine. And because everything else was so great we will still stay here every year for my family reunion.
Pros: It was a quaint little unit
Cons: The foot of the bed was about an inch and a half higher than the head of the bed. just a little strange.
Pros: Close to everything. Great location.
Cons: Weekends are loud with the bar next door. If you aren’t dead tired or going to the bar at the end of the day, or have small kids who don’t do well with noise you may not have the best time.
Pros: Plenty of space, kitchen had some dishes which was nice, lots of extra bath towels, and amenities in the bathroom to use.
Cons: More updates need to be done because it is a very old building. The faucet in the shower didnt work well. We had to use a screw driver to turn the hot and cold off......
Pros: The suites are located well to walk anywhere needed. With limited sleeping accommodations in the area, we were very happy with the stay - clean and comfortable. We walked to main street for breakfast and dinner, both were great even with a big party. We also walked to the pools just a short distance away - great trip!
Pros: The size of the suite was great and a good walkable location.
Cons: The carpet needed cleaned it was very dirty with stains on it.
Pros: Location was great but not if you have issues with noise. The bar crowd got really noisy. Not an issue for us. Beds were comfy and the sheets were nice and soft.
Cons: Extra toilet paper and paper towels would have been nice to have in the apartment. We had to ask each time. Already made ice in the freezer would have been great too.
Pros: Close to everything.
Pros: Location great. Good size for family of 6. Pleasant staff. Great parking. Easy access. Fun historical building. Cut outdoor space in back.
Cons: Street noise. A little outdated & difficult to keep clean (sticky old layered paint).
Lava Spa Motel & RV Park is in the heart of Lava Hot Springs, within a 5-minute walk of Lava Hot Springs Foundation and The South Bannock County Historical Center Museum. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: I had a room with the Jacuzzi and it was super nice. The bed was comfortable and pillows were not overly fluffy or too flat. I loved the dresser with "used" look. It felt like being at home. Owner was there for check in and was super nice and helpful. The woman at the checkout was pleasant and happy and helpful.
Cons: We had 2 rooms and the bed in the 2nd room was slightly lumpy. That was the only complaint.
Pros: Great staff close to everything
Pros: Great location, lots of room. Very old but clean.
Pros: It was across the street from the hot springs. It was within a short walking distance to a good restaurant.
Cons: It was very old and shouldn’t have cost so much. There was no coffee pot or hairdryer in the room. The bed was uncomfortable.
Pros: I liked the tub’s proximity to the bed. I liked the towel folding they did.
Cons: Room seemed a bit small, but honestly still good for the price.
Pros: Location and the staff
Cons: Very stuffy. Small room. Old carpet. Hair on the blankets. Very old blankets.
Pros: Personal touch, excellent customer service, great location!
Pros: Check in and staff were great. Chris was very friendly and gave added information about the Hot Springs and the town. Great location if visiting the springs. The king size bed was new and comfy.
Cons: The hotel needs to do some updating. No bedside tables to place your book, etc. and no lamp. (Overhead lighting gets a little old). No cover on fan in bathroom and the outlet didn't work in the bathroom either.
Pros: The staff was so cool! We were going to go across the street to the spas instead we went with her recommendations and went behind the hotel into the river for the natural springs! We loved it so much we came back again after our Montana trip : )
Pros: The location and the room
Cons: That the do not have breakfast
Pros: Close to everything and quiet
Cons: A/c problems
Pros: Great location to Hot Springs Spa
Cons: no bottle opener

Pros: The hot springs
Pros: i loved the room away from other guests and private entry i liked the room stood up to expectation was clean and the staff very friendly. the buffet breakfast was not perfect but as a buffet for everyone covered all expections.
Cons: the walls were very thin and it was hard to not hear your neighbors the train tracks are very close to the hotel and very loud at night the room spa 4 had a beautiful jet tub but no step stool or easy access to enter and exit without tripping out of the tub. it claimed to have a private toilet. it was very small and claustrophobic but it was a working toilet. the sink was in the room with carpet floors and a lot of electrical stuff near it. It seemed a bit nerve-wracking.
Pros: The Hot Spring pools on location are really nice and secluded. It's really nice to be away from the main pools which can get very crowded. The staff was very friendly as well.
Cons: Some found it and surprise you had to share the bathroom facilities with several other rooms; However, I did research prior to the trip I knew this ahead of time, so just be aware. The most annoying thing was that I was charged $20 extra for my two-year-old. I can't see how a two-year-old uses $20 worth of amenities… had I known this and at the time of booking I would never have stayed here. The beds are extremely uncomfortable and very old and do you need to be replaced two days later my neck and back are still hurting.
Pros: On site pools were great!
Cons: Didn't know the room I booked didn't have a bathroom. Wasn't an issue though...
Pros: AMAZING FOOD! Staff was very kind.
Cons: Lack of air conditioning.
Pros: They did serve a nice free breakfast. Very tasty and a good variety.
Cons: No TV no A/C no bathroom in bedroom
Pros: Bed was nice. Hot pools are fantastic.
Cons: They refunded my room hours before I showed up for no reason, didn't call me or anything, then said we'd figure it out in the morning. The next day they expected me to pay the full price of the room right there when I had already paid it when I booked it and my bank has no record of the refund. Treated me like I was trying to scam them when they admitted when I got there it was THEIR FAULT in the first place.
Pros: Lovely flower gardens
Cons: The place is haunted and they don't tell you that when booking!
Pros: Breakfast was really good, friendly staff, location, good environment, pools were nice.
Cons: Share the restroom with the rest of the room, my son of 5 years old got stung from wasp, we didn't notice that there was a wasp nest in a chair.no AC in the rooms, definitely the hotel needs to be remodeled.
Pros: Breakfast was awesome and staff was very friendly and courteous.
Cons: Did not like that there was no A/C and had to walk down the hall for the restroom.
Pros: The hot springs are nice, a very Zen like experience, and the breakfast was good.
Cons: It was a surprise to learn that the room had no A/C, no TV, and no bathroom. Non-refundable. We upgraded to a room that had a toilet and TV but were charged an extra 66.00 for that, and it was on the third floor, no elevator.
Pros: The hotsprings
Cons: The check-in was horrible, the room was a basement fixer-upper, the beds were terrible. The springs are nice except they are along two major roads so you hear cars the entire time.
When you stay at Tumbling Waters & Le Cascade Villas in Lava Hot Springs, you'll be in a shopping district, within a 10-minute walk of Lava Hot Springs Foundation and The South Bannock County Historical Center Museum. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Really the only thing that was good about this facility was the fact that it was easy to find, which in a town like Lava Hot Springs really isn't hard to find anything, and there were beds to sleep on. I wish the review would reflect what I really put down, I have all frowning faces. I would give it a .5 if I could, only because there were beds to sleep on.
Cons: If I am being copmletely honest about it, we didn't enjoy any of it. There were beds for us to sleep on so I guess that is a bonus. From the intial start to end it was a strange experience. I had to reserve the room twice because I didn't know that the card didn't run, even though it says they don't run it until you check out, they cancelled the reservation and then I received an email 2 days later stating that it had been cancelled. Luckly they still had a room left to re-reseve but I couldn't do it on the phone I had to get back on line to do it. In regards to staff, I am not even sure they have any. When we arrived there was an envelope taped to the door with our name on it and the information on how to enter our room. Also out side of the information, which anyone could have taken, being taped to the door. After the welcoming line the first thing that was said was not to run the A/C and Microwave at the same time becuase it would blow a fuse. When we went to check out the next morning, there again was a sign saying we had missed them and to call if we had any questions... We never once interacted with a person while we were there. When we had issues with our initial reservation we could call and talk to someone, but on site there wasn't anyone there that worked there, that we were aware of. We arrived at 4:30 pm and left the at 9:30 am. Once we entered the room the smell of cleaning supplies was so over powering we had to open up the windows to let it air out. We didn't realize that our room wasn't actually locked, because one of our kids had played with the hard lock inside the room, until we got up to leave the next morning and tested out the door. When our son could get into the room and he didn't even know the code... Things smelt clean, once I layed on the bed an looked up there was what I can only imagine was chocolate spatters on the ceiling...
Pros: Location next to the tumbling river at the end of town, which was main reason we chose this. Large comfortable room, with some amenities.
Cons: Old place that needs some repair - paint, outlets, fan doesn't work in bathroom. For the price it should've been better shape, but it is still the best choice in this town if you don't want the B&B. Stairs were a problem but we managed.
Pros: I like how it was away from all the noise.
Cons: Bedroom was hot to sleep in.
Pros: Comfortable. Very homey. Beautiful yard and property. Great kitchen and layout. And good size space for our family. Awesome to not have to share walls and have our own little vacation house.
Cons: The house is wonky! Floors uneven, caused a few trips.
Pros: The bed was super comfy..I loved being right next to the river
Cons: The room wasn't very impressive..could use some updating.
Pros: It was close to the river. The shower water was hot.
Cons: It was very outdated and not entirely clean. The floors could have used a vacuuming. The towel rack was broken. The pilot light on the fireplace heated the room and the AC unit didn't cool well so the room was pretty warm.
Pros: Location...outdoor seating by the water...walking distance to everything.
Cons: No maid service...didn't receive clean towels. The bathroom was not functional...no place to put anything
Cons: No housekeeper for the 2 days I stayed. I went to the front desk and asked for clean towers and I took your garbage out myself
Pros: Location-right across the street from the hot springs and on the river. Bar-b-que and fire pit available. Rustic feel.
Cons: Bed backed up against brick wall.
Pros: Across street from hot springs. Less than 5 minutes walk.
Cons: It was hot day and could have used more A/C but was tolerable.
