I was curious about all the security, electronic gates everywhere, but never was actually concerned about safety. Very convenient location for getting downtown or taking in Graceland. We enjoyed our stay very much.
The hotel was clean and the room was well maintained. The security gate with surrounding fence made you feel a bit of unease. Not sure why that gate was necessary. Breakfast choices at the hotel were too expensive. Hotel was quiet and staff provided extra towels when requested. Business center had computers available but were using dial-up speed connection. Not helpful when trying to complete some quick details and I needed to print something for work. There are no restaurants or stores in walking distance. This hotel would be best for business travelers that are only in town for the evening and need to be close to the airport.
Stayed on April 17th.When i check in the staff let me know we would be on the 2nd floor without elevator. We went to our room on back of hotel which was directly on interststate. I went back to deck asking again about changing rooms and reminding her that i was a Rewards Member and stayed only with Marriott. She said thats all she could do my room was already assigned and no changes could be made. The room was very noisey from highway but add 15 ladies from a softball team that came in from parting at midnight until 1:30 did not make for goodnight. We had to be at the Airport at 6 am.The lobby and front of hotel was very clean but the hall ways in the rear were dirty. They looked as they had not be cleaned in days. The room was not dirty but not up to the Marriott standards. Jim Buchanan - Huntsville,Al
Room was very comfortable, but did not have king available. Layout of hotel is very poor. Extremely long walk to elevators and then double back to rooms. Hotel is in middle of office park with NO restaurants anywhere close. If I had a car maybe, but otherwise would not stay here again due to location.
We came from Philadelphia, PA for a 25th Class Reunion and stayed 3 nights. We really enjoyed ourselves at the hotel. The hotel was in a great location from the airport. It was also convenient to all the places we had to go. The front desk staff was very friendly and always willing to assist with our needs. They have a book with directions to different locations at their finger tips to waiting. I really loved the security at the hotel. No one could access the parking lot unless you are buzzed in by the front gate after giving your last name and room number. The breakfast buffet is fantastic and the persons waiting on you are so kind and accommodating. My husband & I woud like to say, 'Thank-you Courtyard by Marriott Memphis Airport for making our stay fabulous. We will see you again on our next trip to Memphis'.
This is a awesome hotel with great open wide location.
Can't say enough good things about this hotel. Everyone was pleasent and helpful and the rooms were just perfect. I would absolutely recommend this hotel.
Had to check in 3 times between 3 pm and 6 pm to get 2 rooms that had been reserved. When we finally got the first room, it was a smoking room. Went back to the front desk, and asked them if this was a smoke free hotel, and they just shrugged their shoulders. The front desk staff were non-helpful, to say the least. We finally got the second room, which was fine. The parking lot was in a security gated area, with signs posted that the management was not responsible for any vehicle. The entire neighborhood surrounding the hotel was full of litter and trash. Marriott should remove their name from this hotel.
The facility was phenomenal. The staff extremely courteous and helpful. I had never been to Memphis. The staff was kind enough to recommend and provide directions to various places. I was only in town a few days-- but by the 1st evening the employee knew me by name. Kudos to the staff and management. I would visit again.
First the only complaint the second floor ice machine needs the coil cleaned the ice was alittle slimy. Now the good points the room was comfortable the hallways and lobby area are nice. The breakfast buffet was delicious. Directions alittle fuzzy. Remember Mill Branch Rd. That will help trust me.
I was a little nervous about noise having read several reviews of other hotels near the airport, but I was not disturbed by any airplane noise. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet, even on the first floor next to the pool. The staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet was great.
Courtyard Marriot although is a short distance from the hustle and bustle of Memphis, the staff is fabulous! The room was spotless and well kept. An excellent experience for both myself and my husband
enjoyed the stay. great staff workers. good location right at the interstate. very clean.
Our stay way very nice. However, the housekeeping staff didn't restock our coffee/cups in our room. We had to go to the front desk or get it ourselves. There happened to have been a young boys football team staying at the same time. Needless to say, they were a bit loud. The front dest did address the problem. They did what they could do to keep the boys quiet. But, when you have that many it's difficult for anyone. Beyond that it was very comfortable and clean. It is convenient to major highways and airport. I would stay again. It is only a few minutes to downtown and Graceland.
Overall, I was pretty satisfied with my purchase. I got a great deal on the room, over half off the regular rate. The rooms were very clean and nice. I was less than pleased with the hospitality of the staff. They put a hold on my credit card in case of incidental damages they did not tell me about, none of the staff were very friendly, and the continental breakfast they serve is $12.00 a person for what is typically free at most restraunts, and they wont let you take it back to your room.
Booked on line for a room for 4 adults for 2 nights and when we arrived they did not have the room we reserved. Tried to upgrade us to a suite with sofa bed which would not accomodate 2 adults. The staff seemed to not really care about their error and I had to pay for a 2nd room for the first night. 2nd day got the room we reserved and asked for enough towels for 4 but they never arrived finally dried with hand towels. If you need accomodations for more than 2 people look elsewhere.
