Long lines w complacency by staff
Hotel was adequate, nothing special. Breakfast was included in rate, otherwise it would have been $52 for two, and worth perhaps half that.
Wifi was extra except in the lobby. But a bigger problem was with the Kayak booking, through getaroom.com --- which advertised this hotel but then actually booked the wrong hotel (a less expensive Marriott property.) The Marriott insisted that we pay again, saying they could not transfer the reservation even after the desk supervisor called getaroom (which did answer the phone on a Saturday night, good). Getaroom did agree to refund the original charges and Marriott agreed to honor the same rate, so no long-term harm was done. But there was no way to see this coming from the original confirmation, and it took a half hour standing at the desk to get it resolved, and then several more days for the refund to show up. So, not horrible, but not "best practice" all round.
I'm trying to think of something positive to say but I'm coming up with nothing other than it's not sketchy. Nice toilet paper?
Parking situation was awful. Barely found a place to park one night and when I did I had a 10 minute walk to the hotel. Room wasn't super clean. No soap (in the tub OR near the sink). Dried bloody snot on tissue. They charge for internet access and to park your car (even if you don't use their valet service). I ended up leaving and staying at the Hyatt (for the same amount of money BTW) which was incredible. 0/10 would stay at again.
Location and amenities on site. Nice restaurant and bar in Lobby. Very close and convenient to airport and rental car center.
$22 continental breakfast. $20 parking.
There are three Marriotts on this property (Miami Airport Marriott, Courtyard Marriott, and Fairfield Inn). When you book on Kayak, it may book you at any of the three because they all have the same address. If you scroll up, you will see that I'm not the first person to whom this has happened.
Room was nice and clean. Wifi was good. I was pleasantly surprised that the room was quiet despite the proximity to the airport.
That location has about 3 different Marriotts. My reservation said 'Miami Airport Marriott' which is the higher end one, but turns out the room was actually at the Courtyard next door which doesn't have all the amenities (like no room service). The Courtyard turned out OK, but I did felt a bit like a bait and switch "victim".
It was very conveint. The staff was very helpful with any questions that I had. The grille in the lobby was very romantic if just for two but apps great for sports fans.
