Staff was friendly. Place was clean. Great location. Great price
This property is conveniently located just off the interstate near Hendersonville, Flat Rock Playhouse, Carl Sandburg home...not terribly far from Ashville. In other words it is in a lovely location. The staff are delightful and made the stay most enjoyable. It truly is a pleasant place to stay without having to overspend. While our room was clean and had a nice décor, the "bathroom basket" only had a shampoo..no conditioner, etc. Also, was disappointed no pool or exercise room.
king bed room with extra pull out couch, two tvs frig and micro .. staff was great had a great stay will use them again...
The lobby was very nice and the staff was very friendly. Our room smelled like stale cigarette smoke. Burn marks on carpet. The upholstered chair had a slash in it, and there were large cobb webs in the corner.
About on a par with some of the less expensive national chains - Clean, functional, no frills. I was in it for less than 12 hours. Included breakfast limited but ok. Lighting in room was harsh and glaring. Only one inconveniently located electrical outlet made phone charging awkward. Shower a bit difficult to operate. Tap water tasted and smelled of chlorine but this may not be hotel's fault.
Staff were welcoming and friendly and the room was spacious comfortable and very clean. The atmosphere was quiet and family oriented
Location. Staff atmosphere. Breakfast
The breakfast wasn't edible.
This was a great place to stay with clean, well appointed suites. The grounds are well kept and reminiscent of a mountain getaway. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I would say this was an excellent value and we enjoyed our stay. This is trifling, but I wish there were napkins or paper towels in the kitchen.
Very pretty area, nice outward appearance. Nice grounds, some thoughtful appointments. Some maintenance issues, 'the little things' were off. Everything was fine, but the 'lodge' part was more decoration.
The only thing I didn't like was there wasn't ventilation in the bathroom. Besides that, beautiful place, and great staff!
There were many activities to do on the grounds. There were a few ants in the cabin, but it could be expected when in a wooded area.
We have been going to HLI since the 1980's. We always stay in one of the cabins with easy parking and convenient location. The BEST is the included breakfast. Season's is an excellent restaurant and breakfast is not-to-be-missed. No
All staff members were very helpful.
Best meal we have had in years at Seasons!
Room had character. Wood floors, ceilings, walls, etc It was advertised as having senic mountain views. The only view we had was pine trees. Not a single mountain view anywhere.
It was clean and there was a fireplace in our room. Water mill entrance scenery pretty. Extremely dated. Walls very thin. The chairs were horrible(sank almost to the floor when we sat in them). Curtains didn't cover the windows and some of the blinds were broke. Front porch deck needed repair work. Winding roads with very little signs.
The location and offered activities were excellent. The hotel was fine - the cheek in experience was Dreadful!
Our villa was very outdated. TV worked half of the time. Refrigerator messed up and had to be unplugged due to fear of fire. Looked as if the villa had never been updated. Also had trouble with the air conditioning. We were very disappointed with the look of the villa and we will not stay there again.
Shockingly hard to get to...we were not counting on the hour to get to Asheville as it appears on a map to be about a half hour away. The unit was fine. Clean appliances and tub but the shower and carpets definitively need updating. The king size bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in but the sofa bed that my kids slept in was absolutely dreadful. I know sofa beds are notoriously horrid but this topped the charts. There was mildew around the shower. The overall layout of the unit was awkward with the entrance opening up into the foyer/sm. living room and then down stairs was bedroom, bath, and kitchen. NO internet (which kinda stinks as I could not look for things to do in the area) but I did find a coffee shop down the road that had wifi. Would have been nice is the staff had provided that info.
The atmosphere was awesome. It was very much a home away from home. Both the staff and other guest were extremely friendly. Wasn't much in the direct area. Drove to the next town for dinner for lack of choices on main street. Would love to see the atrium opened up in the evening for wine or drinks with music (satellite radio or similar). Hot tub out there would be wonderful.
A very well done B&B with a staff who makes you feel like you are coming to visit an old friend!
Loved the Firehouse Inn-very relaxing and quiet. Beautiful room and pleasant staff. We will definitely be back!!
In an old fire/police station, with tons of character - beautiful old tile in bathrooms, fireplace, lovely courtyard, elegant dining/sitting room. Huge windows, high ceilings, yummy bathrobes. The cute loft in our room, would be totally fun for kids! Not a thing.
The only saving grace was the staff. The bathrooms are glorified closets. If u take a shower at night, there is no light so u have to leave curtain open. There is a step down into the bathroom that you WILL trip over, fall or stub your toe. We also slept on top of the covers and the pool closes at 7.
Location Price increase with no quality improvement
The owners house/check in desk is new and very very nice. I'm sure they wrote off their house as a check in desk. The brand new batting cage hidden behind the building was the nicest thing about the place. And no it's not meant for the guests. Rude staff, couldn't check in early after requesting. Check in time is not 2 as the website indicates. Carpets wet, doors rebuilt with screws, mold everywhere, was gross.
Looks like it had been remodeled since outr last visit. Well done. Much better amenities now. Rug had a couple of sticky spots.
Convenience to the meetings I attended. They did not honor the payment arrangements we made through priceline. There was no hot water.
we were tired after getting into town late at night. We checked in and went straight to bed. The beds were comfortable and the room had free wifi. I slept very well.
Large spacious room The ad lied when it said the room had a hit tub. What it had was a regular tub with jets in it. One person could not relax in this tub let alone two people who wanted a romantic night out. Not worth paying extra when we couldn't use it.
very close to where I needed to be. Location is really the only plus here. Ac didnt work well, lighting was horrible and not very clean.
Location -- rooms clean -- no noise -- enjoyed our stay Room a little musty on entry since they turn the AC units off apparently when not in use, not a big deal, they aired out quickly...
Location was the only one suiting my needs, but it was difficult to find at night. It is at the end of a long driveway off the road, and there is NO sign on the road visible in the dark. I spent 45 minutes with my GPS looking for it. Weird location; indifferent/incompetent staff (it took about 30 minutes to find my reservation)
Clean room. Convenient location. Helpful staff. Poor quality shower.

Met expectations! Somewhat dated
