The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are comfortable and spacious. The staff was also very friendly. The restaurant was had very slow service. We waited almost an hour to be served breakfast, and dinner was even slower. The food was also flavorless and just okay overall. I expect more when I pay $50 for an entree. The only other comment I have is that I asked for additional coffee and creamer for my room. It took them 2&1/2 hours to bring it up.
Great place. Under staff. House keeping mistakes. Room not refreshed. Slow front desk , but willing. Slow service at pool, but willing. Renting from the marina, best operation. The hotel staff out performed the management. Great place! Needs a secret shopper.
Friendliness of staff, helpful, very comfortable room, good restaurant the weather
Friendly staff and excellent food, quiet and very clean-very good value Hot tub needs improvement- stronger jets
We love the facility, the staff and the location of gross mountain lodge. It's close to downtown Whitefish, their daily shutle gives you a variety of times to head up to Whitefish Mountain to ski, and cross country skiing is right outside the back door on the adjoining golf course. The facility needs to upgrade it's technology to high DEF television is in each room.
Absolutely stunning resort; with regular shuttles to Big Mountain (now Whitefish Mtn.) and to downtown Whitefish; cross-country skiing in winter and golf in summer right at the resort. Smashingly good place; good to great food, fine staff. Can't wait to return both summer and next winter! Nothing, other than the temperature dropped to -13 one morning!
The location was excellent. Near the River with balconies to relax. And unwind after a long day of driving! Great breakfast too! No negative comments
There was nothing we didn't like! My husband and I used the Inn as our homebase while visiting our family. Joey and his wife were wonderful hosts. Our room was very comfortable and well maintained. Breakfast was a nice surprise ... Not only bagels, English muffins, oatmeal, cereal, juice and coffee, we were treated to homemade breakfast cake and make your own waffles. The views from our room and from the welcoming lounge are lovely! We definitely recommend the Duck Inn Lodge, which is centrally located to downtown Whitefish, as the place to stay when you need a Home away from Home!
The entire experience was fantastic! I enjoyed sleeping to the sound of the Whitefish River gurgling outside my window. The wireless network was too weak to use. I had my own hotspot, which worked fine.
Very clean and friendly atmosphere. Everyone was very welcoming and kind. The breakfast in the morning was great! The bed was a little stiff and slightly uncomfortable.
Everything. The bed and comforters were so rich that I turned the heat down to 65 F and left my nose out to chill, lol. I read in front of the gas fireplace for hours each day. Don't know
The room was big and clean. They gave us a room close to the exit to make it easier to bring out dog in and out of the hotel. The AC was turned on for us before we got their for our arrival. Nothing, it was a great place to stay.
The hotel, including our room, was clean and beautiful. The staff could not have been friendlier!
beautiful grounds, amazing lodge, clean and comfortable rooms! Couldn't have been more pleased! The continental breakfast was very sparce, but everything else made up for it! Thank you for an amazing stay!
The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was ok. We were only there for one night, but it would be a lot of fun to stay for a few days. The summer activities at the resort are a lot of fun. We spent the whole day doing them.
Luxurious room, comfortable bed. Quiet. Basic continental breakfast. It was 7 miles from town. Not convenient for people just passing thorugh the area. Pricey, but great if you planned on skiing.
Good value, clean facility. Relatively good location for the main strip and easy entry / exit Very dated decor. Straight out of the late 70's made it feel old/worn.
one of the front counter people was energetic. the roof didn't leak the window on the third floor opened they let my dog stay other counter people seems annoyed didn't feel clean was bitten by something in the bed when we got there, no one was at the front counter for over 10 minutes. another guest was bringing his in-room coffee pot down because it had mold toilet ran all night, tub faucet dripped, sink leaked
The housekeeping staff, by far, made our visit the most appreciative. Beds were comfortable. The tee shirts they sell proudly displayed on the wall behind the front desk "I got humped, at Stumptown Inn"...not a family friendly tee shirt to see upon check in. Front desk staff could provide information about the hotel: wi-fi, complimentary breakfast (although just bread & pastries) and things to do while in Whitefish (where to eat, etc). The noise level from the guest above or beside you, was 'personal', meaning you could hear more than you wanted to hear. The cost of the room whould have been $50 LESS than what we paid, to equalize the hotel shabby & run down appearance & needed interior updates. Over priced.
