Ideally situated for Puck Fair. Delia and Fergus, many thanks for a memorable stay, I am experiencing withdrawal symptoms' that can only be remedied by a return visit. Hope to see you soon.
I liked everything about this place. The gardens around are beautifully designed and well kept. We were upgraded to a holiday house, which was a really nice suprice. These houses are very spacious and provide with a greater comfort than a B&B. We stayed there only one night, because our trip was fully planned, otherwise we would have extended our stay. We loved the breakfast. It was delicious. And the hosts are very nice people. You can feel they care about their guests.
The attractiveness of the location; the quality of the breakfast choices; free use of internet
The location was perfect for me as I needed to visit a nearby company. The owner was very accomodating as I needed to leave the B&B early, so she said she would serve me breakfast earlier than usual. She was really helpful & friendly. The room could have done with leaving the windows open to air it a bit. Otherwise, the B&B was excellent.
Little room for improvement in this pleasently located well appointed guest house. No bad points.
The facilities were very nice. Full Irish breakfast in the morning was the perfect start to the day. Good location on the river just outside of town.
Cleanliness. Good location heating system was not working properly in the room.
Fair in allowing us to stay a last minute 2nd night for the same rate as our advanced booking... even during the Puck Festival. Windows were a little bit of a hassle to operate and the bathtub drained too slowly for showers. Wifi didn't work very well in our room.
The staff were great. Down to earth, very friendly and highly efficient. They were perfect. It may not fit the "feeling" of the beautiful hotel but a television would have been nice (there was motor racing I would have liked to watch). But, having said that, it was great being away from that completely as well.
Service, helpfulness and friendliness of staff Nothing
The staff was amazing. The hotel grounds were gorgeous. The rooms were all tastefully done and the shower had wonderful pressure. The breakfast was very nice and the coffee was some of the best I had in Ireland. Our favorite part was being able to sit by the fire and have a nightcap after a long day sightseeing.
While primarily for adults, I'm sure children are welcome. We loved our hosts Myra and Michael. Myra offered the full Irish Breakfast or a hearty continental. The Irish Breakfast was quite good. When I saw how close N70 was to the house, I thought we might have noise, but we did not, and I am a light sleeper. Good restful stay and wonderful conversations with Myra and Michael. Myra was helpful confirming our arrangements with the boat ride to Skellig Michael, having breakfast ready early so we could make an appointment, and she gave my husband and I a box of chocolates and birthday card when she found out we were both having birthdays while there. Being slightly north of the Ring of Kerry was also welcome because it was more quiet in Castlemaine which also positioned you nicely to Dingle. Nothing negative whatever to say.
Manager decided at check-in that I should not be charged for breakfast - I was leaving very early the next morning. View from my window looked out on a very dirty and messy yard with dogs roaming around and fighting with each other
Friendliness of staff, food, location., laid back atmosphere.
The rooms and breakfast were excellent. I did not like the fact that there is a disco bar / nightclub attached that keeps guests awake with the pounding noise.
Food was excellent
helpful staff the noise from outside my room (air conditioning?) was loud unless you shut the window but it quiened down after midnight.
The staff were lovely and very helpful There is no car park
Location and friendleness of the staff
Very kind staff and clean room.
The bar, restaurant and reception staff were a pleasure to deal with and the hotel was well kept. The meals are not as good as they were. The steak was fine but the Chicken Maryland and Cottage Pie were dismal.
The breakfast especially Would like a better price - around $150 us for one night would have been better
