Chabil Mar - Placencia - Bedroom
2
9.7 Excellent (135 reviews)
Overview Reviews
There are so many reasons that folks love to go to Belize. For starters, American travelers enjoy that Belize is an English-speaking country in Central America. There are many reasons to enjoy Belize that have nothing to do with language, though. One of the big reasons is the snorkeling and diving. This country is amazing under the sea. Another reason is the great beaches. When you book a room in Belize, one of the most popular destinations is the Chabil Mar. The Chabil Mar showcases the very best of Belizean hospitality. The great thing about this hotel is that it combines exceptional luxury with the best of Belizean architecture and natural landscapes. The hotel is situated beachfront, and you can enjoy these beaches just walking out the door. Another great feature are the dual infinity pools. The bottom line is, if you have trouble relaxing in this place, you are not meant to relax. There are many great dining options in Belize. The seafood is some of the best in the world, and you will always enjoy a fresh catch. The hotel offers some excellent dining options for enjoying some great breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. Café Mar is a great place to enjoy a meal, especially because your view will be of the Caribbean Sea. The excellent food is prepared by some of the best chefs, and you’ll be ready to come back each day for another bite. Staying at the Chabil Mar is the perfect way to enjoy Belize.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved how clean and spacious the villa was and the beach was kept spotless, the service was friendly and attentive. We loved everything about Chabil Mar, can’t wait to come back.
Cons: No issues at all! Except I regretted not getting bug spray but they do sell it on property.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The resort was wonderful. All of the employees were very nice and accommodating and went out of their way to make our stay truly memorable. The food at the resort was very good and was the best food that we had during our 10 day stay in Belize. And the best part is that they bring your meal wherever you would like...in the room, on the patio, by the pool on the pier. On the booking.com website it indicates that all rooms have king size beds (extra large double beds). However that was not the case. Our sea front room had a queen size bed at best and since my husband is 6'7" the bed was very small. When we asked to move to a room with a king size bed, the staff not only obliged but upgraded our room to a two story very deluxe villa. If a king size bed is a requirement, please be sure to ask when making your reservation. We got lucky as there was a last minute cancellation which allowed us to change rooms to the upgraded villa. The resort offers different activities on different days so that you can do as much or as little as you choose. Fabulous!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great accommodations, exceptionally friendly staff, delicious food
Cons: It’s walkable to the village but it’s more than a short stroll

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Chabil Mar was a fantastic place to say. It truly exceed our expectations and I cannot wait to be back with the rest of the family! Great for a romantic trip OR a family vacation. Literally steps from a gorgeous beach with wonderful, swimable water (great for kids) and lovely big pools! Hammocks with every room and delicious food. You can eat any meal, anywhere on the property that you would like! Truly special place. Photos don't do it justice! Also can rent a golf cart and drive to town (3-4min) or walk to town! Placencia is a great place for families and kids. They also have a great beachfront in town that's ideal for little little kids and is an easy place to snorkle. Could not recommend chabil mar more! They also have free bike and kayak rentals. Stay here!

Pros: Absolutely everything!!
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This property exceeded my expectations. The location is A1, the property and grounds are fantastic. Beautiful villas situated in the most wonderfully kept gardens. The villas are beautifully furnished with every you may need. The staff are fantastic and make you feel really at home. A little oasis right on the beach and so close to Placencia.
Cons: I think the only thing that you can improve on is the happy hour. This is not really a happy hour reducing the drinks by $1 does not make me happy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Sheldon and Nikita responded to all our questions even prior to arrival. Sheldon knew we had young children and placed us with the best tour guides. All staff at Chabil Mar were friendly and had the best customer service! We hope to come back again!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful spacious room with kitchen and large balcony.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very welcoming and went out of their way to accommodate my plans - even starting breakfast earlier than normal so I could make my tour in time. They serve a full breakfast that includes coffee/tea, juice, fruit, and other rotating items. It is served on the rooftop which has an amazing view over the ocean. There was an issue with one of the a/c units in my room and they quickly took care of it by installing a window unit so the room stayed cool. The staff greeted me by name and were very friendly and helpful with recommendations of local restaurants and tour companies. The property is right on the ocean - literally steps away from the hotel. I enjoyed listening to the waves come in while laying in the hammock on my balcony. Highly recommended!
10.0 Excellent
Cons: I believe the amenities on Trip Advisor state there is api but there is not
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Every detail of the hotel and rooms is well thought out. The rooms have a lot of touches that show real consideration for the guests. Examples: beach towels, kayaks, bikes, high quality A/C, labeled coffee and accessories, juicer, comfy bed, cooler to take to the beach, tiled shower, lounge chairs, free ride to/from airstrip, external showers to wash feet, high quality breakfast, and so forth. This is one of the nicest guest houses we have stayed in anywhere in the world.
Cons: Not enough time there!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The situation directly on the beach is perfect. The rooms are furnished with a lot of love and very clean- a very good vibe. Both holders are absolutely lovable, we've felt totally comfortable. The accommodation is to be recommended in all of it.
Cons: all good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Phenomenal in all areas, just steps from the sea, extraordinary staff always ready and available to help, immaculately maintained inside and out, and by being embedded in Placencia village we were always just a short walk to restaurants, grocery stores, excursion departure points, etc.
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: The owners, Barbara and Evan went above and beyond to help us plan excursions. And the attention to detail at the hotel were amazing. Couldn’t of asked for a better vacation!

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. A roundtrip airport shuttle is complimentary (available on request).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Right on the ocean. Use of kayaks, bikes, golf cart, ride to/from airport. Convenient from airport. Free breakfast. Yummy meals at their restaurant. Staff is so wonderful as were hosts. Helped us plan activities. The grounds are a paradise of beautiful plants and flowers and cute little signs and arrangements. The “treehouse” had the softest bed, many pillows of varying soft/firmness, huge shower and double sinks, great A/C, hammocks, table and chairs on the deck. Pool was on the beach. Bar was well stocked. I’m sure I am missing some things.
Cons: I didn’t like that we weren’t there longer!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous location ... owners & facility
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I liked that there was complimentary breakfast with eggs, coffee, bagels, juice, and fruit included each day. I also enjoyed the poolside bar and restaurant, the comfortable pool and the friendly staff. I also loved the welcome drink upon checkin! Our room was super luxurious and I loved the view! We’d stay here again.
Cons: I wish there were a few more pool floats to enjoy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Sharon and Bruce were awesome and very accommodating with our requests. The location is great with the beachfront/pool and treehouses allowing one to experience the beach/rain forest experience. The staff was very attentive and even made an effort to address us on a first name basis. The owners also helped us with booking excursions on all the days we were there as well as transportation to and from the village. The location is also great because it is super close to the village.
Cons: Pool could’ve been a bit larger and dining menu does not have many options.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wow, where I start, it was a beautiful resort. The hosts Sharon and Bruce were very attentive and personable. We stayed in one of the treehouses and it was super cute, you can tell that they have put so much work at this little getaway and you can see that in the little details, It is a beautiful garden and very nice beach and view. They really protect nature and open their resort for the people from town to use which I think is a good thing for locals to enjoy this little gem. Their staff is awesome and their chef is excellent! We found that we did not have to leave often because everything is there from a bar, restaurant, pool, beach, and they assist with arranging tours. I would recommend if you are looking to stay at Placencia do not hesitate to book at this beautiful establishment, Thank you, Sharon, Bruce, Danesha, Marcos, and the rest of the staff that we did not get your names but you are appreciated!!! God Bless!!!
Cons: Nothing! An A+ on everything!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Property was extremely clean. The atmosphere was absolutely relaxing and peaceful and we felt very safe.
Cons: Was a bit far away from the shopping area.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Tree house bungalows are absolutely clean, gorgeous, spacious, modern, comfortable. Wifi accessibility in bungalow and lounge areas is great. Restaurant food was five star quality. Staff cleans seaweed off of beach, so it felt like our area of beach was the best even when we visited Maya Beach Bistro beach. Free airport ride from staff :)
Cons: If you want walkable distance to center of town, then it's a little further out. If you don't mind riding a $5 taxi to town then it's worth the 5 minute ride to have your seclusion and comfort.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Rooms and staff
Cons: Lots of mosquitoes
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The treehouse rooms are secluded and shaded. The staff was friendly and accommodating to our group of seven.... We had a great time.
Cons: It was our own fault but it took us a while to figure out how to turn off the light on the AC... We like it dark to sleep.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Complimentary Breakfast was wonderful. We had dinner a couple times during our stay and the food was delicious. The owners and staff were so friendly and helpful.

Naia Resort & Spa, nestled within a private 200 acre reserve. An intimate resort and spa that iscasual yet elegant. Naas 35 beach houses are spread over a quarter mile of pristine palmstudded beach. Our most outstanding feature is the destination spa. Our extensive menu oftreatments, spa rituals and personalized wellness programs has been carefully developed inharmony with our inspiring surroundings.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was so helpful and energetic. The rooms were always emaculately clean. The food was good. And the shuttle took us in town or to the neighboring resorts. The pool and inland beach area was relaxing and always enough lounge chairs available. The crew cleaned the seaweed everyday, sadly the beach is not meant to swim in due to the location of the resort. If you can get passed that, everything was amazing from the spa to the fitness center to the bar scene. Many thanks!
Cons: No beach to swim
7.0 Good
Pros: The South African manager, Wilhelm was incredibly helpful and competent!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was outstanding, facilities were new and beautiful, landscaping was gorgeous, food was delicious. Overall a really terrific stay and a great choice for families.
Cons: The beach had a bit of a seaweed issue, as did all the beaches on Placencia but the staff did a great job keeping it under control
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service and hospitality from the moment I was in touch with the resort after booking. So helpful with anything that you may need, from airport bookings/transfers and activity reservations. The property was very nice, a little removed from the hustle and bustle that may be encountered at other resorts. Naia definitely does not skip details. My beachfront room/casita was even better than the pictures depicted. I fell in love as soon as I walked in! The bed! The bathroom and soaking tub! The outdoor garden shower! I truly feel that Naia had the right idea when it came to property planning and unit design. The yoga studio and instructor was amazing. The spa— wow! The spa experience was AMAZING - the facilities are tucked among mangroves and staff are unmatched. The meal options at the on site restaurants were great as I ate on the property for all meals and each one was delicious! The restaurants even attracted non-Resort guests to dine. The only regret I had was not partaking in any off-site excursions - however as a solo traveler with most (if not all) options requiring two people minimum and it was a slower/low season, I was limited - which was fine since the purpose of my trip was for relaxation and there was much to keep me occupied on the property. I’m already looking forward to a future stay at Naia.
Cons: That I left sooner than LobsterFest was to begin! More lighting on the property - hard to see on the walk back to my building after dinner (especially being alone!). Unpredictable timing of housekeeping - one day the staff came at 11:30am, another day it was 2:30! So it was just easier for me to hang a “Do not disturb sign”. Otherwise, it was a nonissue!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Service at restaurant; yoga class. Flowers in the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great resort, enjoyed our private plunge pool and ocean views. Great staff, wonderful experience, looking forward to returning
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great welcome, villa beautifully prepared which is very cleverly designed including a large private warm outdoor shower...Excellent, friendly, attentive staff. Idyllic position. Great spa facilities in wonderful landscaped setting...
Cons: Bar needs to have better music and atmosphere...maybe a ‘Tiki’ bar so people can have drinks against the beach setting instead of the rather gloomy upstairs ‘1981’ restaurant..
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff is friendly and they really go out of their way to assist and make suggestions, and the rooms and amenities were exceptional
Cons: Nothing!!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Pictures on the web site don’t give it justice. The beach front bungalow are right on the beach with unobstructed view of the Caribbean Sea. The staff was courteous, polite and always smiling. Don’t hesitate to ask them about things to do or see in Placencia and surroundings. The spa was experience was wonderful with a great staff and location in the midst of lush tropical scenery and water. If you are into yoga I recommend the little onsite studio. Great teacher. The dining in was great with fantastic local food. Thumbs up to the smoke red bell Pepper soups and the freshness of the seafood.
Cons: The mosquitoes.

Pros: Maya Beach Hotel was where we spent the last 3 days of a 10 day trip to Belize. We stayed at Ambergis Caye, San Pedro, Placencia and end our trip at Maya Beach Hotel and so glad we did. It's 20 min outside of the town of Placencia and after staying in town for 3 days MBH was the perfect wind down to our trip. Our own little "cottage like" room w. porch to balcony, comfy bed, wi fi, and a great restaurant and staff, turn key booking of any excursion you might want. A perfect place to relax and enjoy the final days of our trip

The rooms were spacious, clean and nicely appointed (great AC, great WIFI). The true gem of Laru Beya is the infinity pool overlooking the beach. 8.0 Excellent
Pros: The helpfulness of the staff and the way the room was set up upon arrival. Also, the chalk board saying welcome was a nice touch!
Cons: The distance that the resort was from the village. In addition, the prices for the food was a bit too high, and the level of spice added to the coconut shrimp curry was almost unbearable for me to eat, which meant my girlfriend who ordered it could not.

Turtle Inn - Placencia - Pool
9
9.2 Excellent (163 reviews)
Overview Reviews
One of Francis Ford Coppola’s trio of Central American resorts, Turtle Inn hotel in Belize mixes a sprinkling of glamour with its stylish rusticism. Wander from your Balinese-style beach shack across the seemingly endless stretch of white sand, and nap in brightly coloured hammocks strung between bending palm trees after diving into the sun-sparkled sea.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff was kind, exceptionally professional and promptly attentive. I loved the hibiscus
Cons: I didn’t realize that this eco-friendly hotel didn’t offer air conditioning which compromised our mid-July stay comfort level. We had several fans in our room which helped. The hotel was a bit sophisticated for my more casual teenage children.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We had the best experience at Turtle Inn beginning from the moment we arrived and were greeted by the friendly staff. We loved the decor and location of our cabana room, especially the outdoor shower and in-room breakfast. Turtle Inn organized tours to Monkey River and snorkeling to Silk Caye. We were blown away by the snorkel trip and appreciated how the staff worked with my husband and myself to allow us each a snorkel experience while the other supervised our toddler. All food we had on site was excellent, especially the fish tacos. The hotel was situated a bit farther than we normally like to stay from the center of the place we visit, but Turtle Inn provides free bicycle rentals for guests, including some bikes with child seats, so we were able to access Placencia on a 10-12 min bike ride. We were a little concerned five nights might have been too much, but it was the perfect amount of time for us. One night more may have been stretching it in terms of activities, but we had plenty to keep us busy for a full four days. A highlight of our year so far!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about this resort is amazing
Cons: Nothing to dislike
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Turtle Inn staff make your visit a stay seem like your are home with your favorite friends
Cons: No a/c can be tough if your casita is blocked from beach breezes.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: TL:WR the Turtle Inn is incredible! My wife and I recently returned from the trip of a lifetime, courtesy of the Turtle Inn. As soon as we arrived we were blown away from their never-ending hospitality; initially involving a welcome cocktail, brief overview of the property and a tour of the immaculate grounds. We were also fortunate enough to stumble across the small onside garden/farm early on in our stay, and were graciously given an insightful tour inclusive of all sorts of edible delights! We then continued to enjoy their fresh, home-grown produce throughout the rest of our stay during our fantastic meals at Mare (the main restaurant). Our weeks stay involved numerous activities and adventures including two-days of learning to dive with Bernard (who was incredibly patient and helpful despite a personal battle with motion sickness), snorkeling, sailing (using the Turtle Inn’s beach catamaran), monkey-river adventure, sunset-cruise and several trips into the nearby village. While each excursion was uniquely impressive, our daily welcome back to the resort was virtually comparable. Each day our return to the resort somehow coincided perfectly with happy hour at the beach bar, where Rod and Silvano rustled up never-ending concoctions of the tastiest fruit-infused cocktails paired with local Belizean rum. Regardless of how busy they were, they were always eager to hear about your day and engage in genuine, friendly conversation (something of a rarity here back home!). Equally impressive were the beach team of Ylnan, Javier, Luis and Bamboo who provided us with all sorts of beach games, activities and equipment throughout our stay. It was a pleasure to get to know each and everyone of them. In the evening we dined at all three of the resorts restaurants (local flavors at the Gaugain Grill and Auntie Luba’s, where the food was homely and enjoyable). We personally preferred the superior quality of The Mare restaurant, where each meal was a true delight.
Cons: Less mosquitos! (hardly the resorts fault though...)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: What makes the Turtle Inn so special are the quality of the people working there and the wonderful environment they create. Upon arrival, you are welcomed as family and anything you need will be done, with warmth and smiles!
Cons: Every need that we desired was met by the various people who make Turtle Inn run.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff and service at Turtle Inn is phenomenal! Everyone remembers your name and are so friendly and happy to assist you with anything you need. Turtle Inn has the BEST service I’ve ever experienced!
Cons: There was nothing that I didn’t like!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location just steps from the sea. The staff is the kindest I’ve experienced in years.
Cons: Bring your bug spray!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Turtle Inn is an extremely beautiful resort with an amazing staff. We were welcomed at the airport by Javier and greeted with a welcome drink at the resort by a second Javier at the front desk. Freshly baked cookies awaited us in our breathtaking cabana and we had a romantic (and delicious lobster) dinner on the beach under the moonlight at Gauguin Grill -- Ronnie as our waiter and he was fantastic (knowledgable, soft spoken and friendly). As we were at Turtle Inn for too short of a stay this time around, we had the pleasure of meeting the GM only on our way out -- we didn't get his name but very much appreciated him taking the time to say hello. We plan on coming back to Turtle Inn as soon as next year -- and bringing the whole family with!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous resort! Couldn't believe we were actually staying there!

5.0 Okay
Pros: Really lovely modern apartment! Great location near a lot of bars and restaurants. Really impressed with how clean and nicely decorated the apartment was. However, on our second day the manager charged me twice for the room, so 2 x $400 was taken from my account. I was made aware by my bank. When I spoke to the manager about this she said it was a mistake and that she had voided it straight after, 24 hours later the money is still not back in my account. It concerned me that this type of mistake could be made and that they can help themselves to money from my account without my signature or permission. Understandably mistakes can be made, however this was done at 9am and they had plenty of opportunity to inform me of this. this was never communicated to me nor apologised for until I flagged it due to the contact from my bank. Upon returning to the apartment only one bedroom had been cleaned. The living area and second bedroom were not touched. In the bedroom that was cleaned all but two used towels were taken and no replacement clean towels had been left. When we discussed this with the manager she said that the cleaners told her that we only wanted one room cleaned. This of course was not the case, why would we request that? No one could come and service our room as they had all left at 4pm. Very little apology given and no compensation offered. Despite such a promising welcome and lovely place, huge issues here and I wouldn’t recommend it or come again. Easier to stay nearby somewhere a little cheaper but more professional/experienced in hospitality.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property was lovely, and the location could not be beat. The staff members were exceptional and highly professional. We liked that everything was in walking distance.
Cons: The only drawback was the beach. We were told in advance that there was quite a bit of sargassum seaweed at the Placencia beaches. This is true.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location, within easy walking distance to shops, tour operators and restaurants!!! Staff very helpful and able to provide information and guidance. We all wish we could have stayed longer and we will most definitely return!
Cons: The only negative I can think of and it's a minor one for me, was the lack of a pool. The presence of the nice beach kind of makes it moot. They told me that a pool was on the list of projects to accomplish.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed extra comfy. Office staff were excellent.
Cons: Laundry didn’t get done as requested on the last day.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: From booking to check out the staff were responsive and pleasant. The accommodations themselves exceeded my expectations! It’s a great central location on the boardwalk within walking distance to all village highlights. Can’t wait until there is a pool!

Pros: Great rooms; Friendly staff; tasty and well-prepared food at the restaurant with reasonable prices (American $7-10 full breakfast; $14-28 dinner); front desk will arrange tours, taxi rides. Small property; can get to know other guests; good for solo travel; very quiet after 9 pm; everything is very well maintained and beautiful
Cons: Location; great if you want a quiet get-away from everything, but can't walk to shopping, spa or other restaurants; need to take taxi or local bus service; or can rent a car or golf cart Amenities: no coffee maker or frig in the room
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Enjoyed hearing the wave and wind through the palm trees in the on-the-sand beach huts. Loved the beach hammocks and pool.
Cons: Pillows smelled musty
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Our stay was amazing. Great place to relax. Beautiful beach, great food and staff!!! Thank you very much!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet and convenient, not far from the boat dock we’re heading to tonight. The rooms are welcoming and clean - more than adequate. Property is situated right on the beach, which is kept immaculate. The restaurant was a great surprise - Bonefish Grille is worth a second (or third) trip!
Cons: Nothing - staff is friendly, industrious, and seem to enjoy what they do.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: everything was Awesome. the stay was comfortable, peaceful, and quiet. nice friendly staff. and food was great...
Cons: the only con i have is i think the room needs a refrigerator and perhaps coffee makers... but besides that all amazing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff was excellent and made sure that the guests felt welcome. The property was clean and configured so guests have privacy while still being close to the restaurant, office and pool. The cottage was authentic and relaxing.
Cons: The cottages have no air conditioning but fans keep you cool enough to be comfortable.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Fun restaurant with memorable food. I heard the waves lapping the shore nightly. Amazing sunrise viewing right from my front deck. Five steps and you are walking on sand!
Cons: There was a little secondary smoke drifting in my room from a neighboring cabana on night 1. The problem went away.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great food. Warm ocean. Calmness.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A simple, comfortable cabana on a private beach + pool + charming landscaping + small but excellent restaurant/bar + friendly staff = a perfect vacation! Not luxury accommodations but Singing Sands has everything we needed and wanted, at a great price. The owners & staff are extremely helpful, made great recommendations, and booked fabulous excursions for us. They have bikes & canoes too. We and our teenagers felt so comfortable there--a completely relaxing, peaceful experience, which was exactly what we wanted.
Cons: A few more towel bars or racks for hanging wet towels/clothes would be appreciated. Also, the first few days, there were no cushions on the beach chairs. I was sitting on them anyway, wishing they weren't so hard (they're wooden). The third day, lo and behold, chair cushions appeared! I wish they had been put out the other days. But very minor complaints all in all.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The whole complex is beatufilly decorated and very thoughtfully designed. The food in the Restaurant is very good and the staff is very friendly.
Cons: The complex is a bit outside of Placencia so you depend on public transportation or your own car etc. to get around.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Most importantly, slept soundly on very comfortable bed. Also located in the heart of all the action including countless fine eating places.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice position in the middle of town close to bar, restaurants and shops. Well kepth garden area.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: First of all, Placencia is small and can easily be traveled by foot. The location is two blocks from the point which is a beautiful spot to swim. You are right on the only road in Placencia and one block from the Sidewalk. Our unit was covered in beautiful trees with flowers and lots of native birds and iguanas. It was like living in a treehouse. We stayed in the butterfly unit which is on the second floor with a large screened in porch. Steve, the owner of this property and his beautiful family were more than accommodating and friendly. When my daughter got sick, he even offered to drive us personally to the local doctor. Staff were always friendly and helped us with cabs. They have a laundry service which is incredibly reasonable that was great! We could not ask for a better place!
Cons: We love this property so much. The only thing we would change would be the seating arrangement in the living space. But, if you are not watching TV, then it’s perfect. Unfortunately my daughter got sick during our trip and we watched TV on the sofa while she rides covered. Otherwise, we would not have been watching TV in this beautiful country.
7.5 Good
Pros: The house was very clean and bright. Ac in all rooms which was great. Very near restaurants and shops and beach. We needed a peaceful break and that’s just what we got. If we had opportunity we would definitely come again.
Cons: There was nothing we didn’t like.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are well kept and cozy. The photos online are a true representation of the real rooms. That’s very important. The beach are restaurant are close and in walking distance.
Cons: The shower head in the bathroom kept dripping. I closed the door so I didn’t have to hear it while I slept. However just the fact that good water is being wasted bothers me. That’s the environmentally conscious side of me talking.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location, location, location and the staff was excellent.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The apartment was truly beautiful. great location in the middle of town but off of the main road so that you still have quiet and privacy. If I am back here I'll stay at this location!
Cons: The only slight complication was getting in touch with management about checkout. I texted the night before, but received no response, then made arrangements the day of checkout, and the management wasn't there at the agreed time. But it was fine. Left keys with a neighbor. Small town vibe makes solving these issues easy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean. Everything we needed for the week. Friendly accommodating owners and staff. Open, prompt communication from the very start of the booking till we left. They helped with suggestions to eat, things to do, and with getting taxis. The screened porch with a hammock was the highlight. Birds and iguanas all around.
Cons: Not a thing!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location was great!
7.5 Good
Pros: Amazing staff. Nice space. Great air conditioning. Prime location. Overall perfect atmosphere.
Cons: Plumbing issues (water cut out on 3 of our 5 days, but was up and running again pretty quickly). Tv was advertised, but never worked. Toilet paper was not refilled and had to ask for more. Hard to get a hold of the office manager.

Cons: Bad odour and loud arguing from the upstairs host and family
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! I’m in a year travel and definitely this is one of the best hostel I’ve been, you feel home since the beginning, the location in front of the beach is incredible, the staff is super nice! You can’t ask for more in life! Thank you very much!!
Cons: There is nothing that you cannot like
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Really nice location on the beach and near restaurants and bars. Really liked the free kayak and snorkel gear we could borrow, and the hammocks ! Wasn't sure at first about the big 10 people dorm, but there's plenty of place and it really feel like a family vibe ! Great place to make friends for a solo traveler like me ! There's also a lock on the main door so it feels safe in the night and when the hostel is empty.
Cons: Some changes could be done in the restroom, but I talked with Pandora before leaving and it's probably already been taken care of by now ! She's really receptive and easy to talk to, and wants the best for her guests ! If you're a light sleeper, could be hard to sleep if one person in the dorm (10 people) snores or comes home late.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hostel is located right on the beach and central in the village. The hostess is very friendly and flexible, pays attention to her guest's well-being.
Cons: The beach is lovely for the view, but has sharp objects, so I wouldn't walk barefoot. The shore also has Seaweed and jellyfish, it's not the best for swimming. The house is kept reasonably clean on the inside, but the outside (around the house) seemed a bit messy to me.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place feels like home, and The host Pandora is amazing!
Cons: No bad comments
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice owners, good explanations, spacipus dormitory with big beds, really good location right in front of the beach
Cons: Can be sandy inside due to the proximity of the beach
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It felt more like staying and living with housemates, amazing! Very homey, relaxed and comfortable. Great for meeting new people.
4.3 Okay
Pros: Location is good.
Cons: Unluckily, I got bed bug or mites bites all over my leg from staying in this hostel, I am very certain I got it here, this is the first place I stayed in my trip, I stayed there for two nights, the day I left the hostel I started to get red dot all over my legs... it’s very uncomfortable and pretty bad experience dealing with it. The social atmosphere is nice in this place, you get to meet other travelers, because it’s so busy with the high volume of guests arriving and leaving everyday, it’s always full without any empty beds, the hygiene of the bedding and blanket here is a concern, i am not sure if they ever wash the blanket on top of the sheet at all. I wish I stayed somewhere else in placencia, my whole trip would be much more pleasant.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Hostel located just on the beach. Pandora (the owner) is a very nice and helpful person.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The beds were comfy, Pandora is so friendly, the showers are cold but it's so refreshing after a day on the beach, communal areas are lovely with hammocks to chill out on! Great location close to everything and right on the beach
Cons: - Nothing bad to say really! There is no air con BUT there is a fan for each bed which is absolutely fine. Just something to be aware of if you love air con!

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location was very near to the beach and a short walk from my go-to coffee shop and breakfast spot. There were two fans available in the room I stayed and enough shelves and hangers to unpack comfortably.
Cons: Remember to wear your bug spray if you're outside near sunset!
7.0 Good
Pros: Very nice shared kitchen for cooking. Guesthouse is located close to the beach. Supermarket is only 3 minutes away. The balcony on 1st level is very nice for chilling in the evening.
Cons: Very small room. It was very hot and no fresh air. A/C not available, only fans.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Good value for money and exactly what we were expecting- a room. The room had a fan for each of us plus and overhead fan and there is drinking water provided in the kitchen.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is very near the beach. They allowed me to shower after my sailing volunteer work after the check out time. There is a fridge in the shared area to keep your stuff cold or from spoiling. Friendly staff. The room is clean and there is more than 1 fan in the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, staff, ease of booking .. regardless of why you come to placencia Lydia's is an awesome place to stay. Kitchen is ridiculously loaded way easy to cook if that's your thing. Super safe I tend to travel solo and love this property. Shared bathrooms, but always available. Just perfect.❤
Cons: There's NOTHING to not like ever, at miss Lydia's!!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lydia is really friendly, good location. Free water. Would stay there again.
Cons: Rooms should have air-con. Kitchen closes at 8.30 pm
6.3 Good
Pros: This place is soooo close to the beach! There are beach chairs that you can take out with you, which is super amazing! This place is located next to several restaurants, and grocery stores.
Cons: So this is not a guest house but rather a hostel. There are six rooms on each floor and 2 1/2 baths to share amongst everyone. The owner was quite admit that we only use the bathrooms on the floor we were staying on. The kitchen is open from 6:30am - 8pm and if there is more than two people in there is becomes a very tight space to move around in. There is also no breeze that flows through the kitchen which makes this hallway style room very hot! The WiFi is nonexistent at this place unless you are in the kitchen.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Ceiling fan and personal fans for each bed Clean as a tear Nice helpful staff Kitchen
Cons: No air conditioning Not on the beach
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Quiet, 1 minute to get to the beach, 5 minutes to get to town.
Cons: Maybe not the best place for solo travellers if looking to meet people.
5.0 Okay
Pros: That i had fun in placencia
Cons: No television in the rooms

9.5 Excellent
Pros: I liked that this little resort, and it is a very simple resort, is on the water and it has a restaurant, which we haven’t sampled yet, and haven’t had any coffee yet, so I can’t comment on that, but they met us at the air strip and drove us, and provided us with a simple, but very nice and adequate room, nothing fancy,. But perfectly fine. They also have bikes and kayaks to use. Good value for the money.
Cons: The internet in the evening was very slow and I’m not sure was properly working. The daytime internet seems to be just fine, but I needed to receive a very important message, so I was a bit frustrated by that.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great place. Lovely restaurant and bar. Quiet, relaxing and only a 7 min walk to the best part of town. Free airport shuttle. Very friendly staff. Nice beachfront.
Cons: Bottled water in the room would have been a nice gesture on arriving. Simple things like a few tea towels, tissue paper and a little cutlery upgrade and some glasses would have made the stay perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Enjoyed our rooms and relaxing by the water at night with a glass of wine. Delicious breakfast under the open air cabana. Nice place to stay in Placencia.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I would have prefer a swimming beach since we are swimmers. But we did use the kayak free of charge and paddle to the beach in the bay north of the resort. The access from the street is a deterrent at first sight. But it is understandable. The staff was very nice: Betty, Naslie, Irene. Thank you.
6.8 Good
Pros: Food was good. Staff was friendly.
Cons: Not enough towel bars. No place to put luggage other than on the bed.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Love watching the hummingbirds at the bird feeders hung at the restaurant. Good air con in rooms and helpful reception staff who booked tours and arranged transport when needed. Free courtesy car to and from airport.

Cons: Bed a bit uncomfortable.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location and very clean and spacious.
Cons: The beach was filled with plastic garbage and never calm waters, always a pounding surf.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner was delightful, friendly and helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is a block away from a marina and high end resort were the food and Pina colada's are delicious. The beach at the resort is well tended but the local beach is littered with plastic bottles. I took the opportunity to collect a few bags of beach garbage. A local woman, said she also collects the, mainly plastic bottles and containers. She said the ocean is trying to clean itself so we can all help by removing the beach garbage. Otherwise the area around HighTide was very clean and neat. High Tide served my needs perfectly. I wanted a comfortable place that was in tune with the environment and local community .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beach was not nice in front of the hotel but the hotel was wonderful.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Cheryl was an incredibly accommodating host. I had a very good time chatting with her and her partner. Beyond that the accommodations are nice and there is hot water, towels, etc. This is a nice bit of luxury for a budget-conscious traveller.
Cons: Location isn’t super close to downtown, no A/C but that seems to be par for the course in Belize.
4.5 Okay
Pros: All was as expected
Cons: I had no complaints about anything.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The atomsphere was breath taking.....
Cons: Nothing.....
9.3 Excellent
Cons: The bed was really stiff to sleep on, other than that everything was great.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Clean, rustic, good location, very close to the beach, WiFi available
Cons: No air conditioning, no amenities like coffee, tea or ice. For the price at least tea bags or coffee packets should have been available to go with the coffee pot that was available. Even with the fans the rooms were suffocating
7.0 Good
Cons: far fromthe beach and next to the main road

7.0 Good
Pros: Each room has its own convenient small fridge, kitchen is well equipped to prepare your own meals. Bathrooms were clean.
Cons: Room without a/c was extremely hot. Wouldn't recommend staying in one of this especially in summer time.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Clean tv ac
Cons: In Belize. Check in person spoke NO English She was clueless!!!!! No information given by staff UNSAFE area Noisy around check in desk. Where my bed was
7.0 Good
Pros: I like the deck they have with big wooden chairs to relax at night.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great stay at Palma's, great facilities - fully equipped kitchen, comfortable bed and good size room.
Cons: The property is close to the road therefore it's pretty noisy (especially very early in the morning).
5.0 Okay
Pros: The room we were supposed to have had been let to someone else so the owner had no choice but to give us a room upgrade. This meant we were in a ground floor flat rather than a first floor room.
Cons: - They let our room to someone else and then said they were doing us a favour giving us a better room for the agreed price. - The owner doesn’t live on site and we were not told that we would need to call to tell her we were there. Luckily others guests who spoke English and had phones that could work in the area could contact her for us and allowed us to wait on their terrace while the owner arrived. - The owner didn’t know anything about payment and asked to take my bank card back to her house to charge it and then return it. I obviously declined. - When we said we were leaving at 7am she said she wouldn’t come for check out but to just leave the door unlocked with the key on the table. - The owner knew nothing about the local area, where the boats go from etc.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Casa Palma was just what I was looking for and was perfect for me as a solo female traveler. The room was great, esp w/AC, and it was nice to be able to use the beach chairs. Perfecto was accessible and I was well taken care of during my stay. The location was also great - close to everything but a little more tucked away from the main drag of the village.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Facilities were clean and well stocked for my stay! Very comfortable safe and beautiful location in Placencia beach accessible and within walkable distance to everything needed. This is my 2nd visit and I will be back and would recommend to others!
Cons: A recommendation is to add a few hooks on the back of the doors to hang wet towels otherwise everything was awesome!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I was a little unsure about staying in a place without a private bathroom, but it turned out to better than expected. There was never an issue with having to wait in line or lack of cleanliness. The place was kept very clean and was comfortable. It was a friendly place to stay and I met lots of people there and in town.
Cons: There is really nothing to complain about. It worked out fine for my needs.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location in the sidewalk was great!
Cons: Nothing. The place was perfect.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were exceptional. The resort is older but we were very comfortable.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were all very friendly and did everything they could to make our stay a good experience. Loved the pool and our patio and the view of the ocean. Very relaxing.
7.5 Good
Pros: Quiet peaceful property. Property was clean and staff was attentive for the most part. We would of liked to be able to walk the beaches. The pro of not being able to walk them is the area is not over developed. You need to take a cab to get to most restaurants. Again not that big of deal. Roberts Grove should consider using their two nice vans as a taxi service for guests. They just sit there unused most of the time. We would stay here again.
Cons: We like everything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Robert's Grove was absolutely wonderful, one of the nicest resorts I have ever stayed at and the nicest place we stayed at in Belize. The staff were all very friendly, the food was delicious, great breakfast every morning with fresh fruit, juice, coffee and eggs cooked to order which is a nice bonus. The property is well taken care of, very beautiful with lots of trees and plants, this provides not only beauty but privacy, shade and great bird watching. The three pools are very clean and so nice to swim in and are right on the water front. We went there on our honeymoon and loved it, waking up to the sounds of the ocean and birds was truly relaxing. We didn't want to leave!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff was friendly and helpful. They made our stay very enjoyable.
Cons: Breakfast buffet selections very different from our visit in 2015. Food tasted great.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We loved our beach view room, the comfy bed, and the big bathroom. We hung out on our porch with drinks every night with the ocean breeze. Breakfast was included in the package which was good. A short walk to the docks which had a beautiful sunset view.
Cons: The staff had little knowledge about the excursions. The beach was very windy with a lot of seaweed, which we understand is not their fault. They were cleaning it the day we were leaving which looked a lot better.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Nice location
Cons: Dated, old, and run down.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was the great. The pools were nice. Beach front location was beautiful.
Cons: We got bumped up to a larger room for the first night due to occupancy issues. The next day was disrupted because we had to pack up and move. The room was smaller but OK. The room A/C did not work and we reported it after a hot and sleepless night. The next day it was reported that it had been fixed. HOWEVER, it had not and we had another miserable night. They moved us to another room and it was excellent! The staff was not as friendly as the other 3 resorts we stayed at on this trip. The facilities need updating.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The first few days our seventy was interrupted by kids in the pool swearing, screaming. Was not expected. However the last couple of days security resolved the issue
Cons: Breakfast could have a little more variety.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice place, direct at the beach, perfect for relaxation. clean beach and pools, not far from Placencia village. The staff was very friendly and helpful With a car a lot of nice places can be visited, but it needs 1-1,5 hours of driving
Cons: Very weak and slow internet......one of the slowest we had in Belize. The furniture is a little bit old school, but acceptable

Pros: We were right on the beach with a beautiful view. I loved the open windows with the wooden shutters to let the breeze in. We enjoyed the outdoor shower and the dock with the hammocks and lounge chairs.
Cons: No coffee pot in the room but the coffee was available by 6:15am.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property and great friendly staff!
5.5 Okay
Pros: Location, in front of the sea. The cabin is ok.
Cons: The manager, I think his name is Leo, unfriendly, incapable to smile, none advice, tips, etc.

Pros: the staff was wonderful, so accommodating
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Awesome place. We were planning on staying two nights - so happy, stayed seven! Leo and his team were so accommodating and totally looked after us. If we needed anything- Leo made it happen.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Quiet, lovely beach and setting. Nice paddling and snorkeling to island nearby. Very helpful, pleasant staff! Great to swim right off the beach when you get hot lazing in the hammock! Stand alone cabins were basic, not fancy but had old school charm.
Cons: The food was good and so convenient but it could have been a little more creative or varied. More fresh fruit and veggie varieties or salad options would have been enjoyed.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location was awesome. Very close to the beach. It was a bit of a drive to nearby Placencia, but was nice to be away from the business of the town.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff helped us arrange activities. Restaurant and pub on site served decent food.
4.3 Okay
Pros: Staff
Cons: See through shower walls/floor, rundown, need of a pool, Seagrapes cabana in need of repair and update, large holes in floor/walls for drain/electrical wires coming in (2.5” holes for 2” pipe) should of been sealed around all drain pipes and electrical wires coming into cabana, meals were overpriced and substandard, was way overpriced for what you get, definitely will not recommend or go back . I think Booking.com should return the cost of our cabana during our stay at The Green Parrot Beach Houses and Resort!
5.5 Okay
Cons: the beach and water was rather dirty (sea weed) - compared to other beaches, here they were not cleaned. if there is no wind from the sea, the room gets very very warm as there is not AC. at the end during the check-out there was a mess with the costs and the transfer into town costed at once 20 USD
