You’ll find us in the heart of Tuscany, in the area known as the “Chianti towns”. We're located in Montespertoli, a typical Tuscan town easily reached from all over the region. This is a land of gentle hills dotted with vineyards that denote authentic Tuscan scenery. It is a fertile land, whose soil produces some of the world's most famous wines. We're located in an area best experienced at the slow pace of bygone times and discovered with a real sense of adventure, as Mario Soldati, a gifted director and writer and a lover of food and wine, said, "Drinking a wine is not enough to realize its qualities. You need to head into the land, discover where it comes from, look at the hills, walk the paths." Montespertoli extends an invitation that cannot be declined to raise a glass with its Chianti, taste its extra-virgin olive oil and strictly "saltless" home-made Tuscan bread, discover its gentle scenery and a town bursting with art, history and legend, and choose from the endless possibilities offered locally. Our property "Casa Vacanze - il Tramonto sul Chianti" is composed by 2 buildings and can host up to 18 people. The farmhouse has 3 apartments (Venere - Bacco - Diana) The hayloft has 1 apartment (Giove) The listing show only the apartment Bacco, please check our other listings. ###### BACCO: An apartment located in the old fermenting cellars accommodation 2 people + 1 consisting of a large room partially separated by a brick arch with the spacious kitchen/dining area on one side and a double bedroom on the other side with the possibility of adding an extra bed. LOCATION We are only 4 km from Montespertoli and 30 Km from Firenze, "Il Tramonto sul Chianti" is the right place to discover the Tuscan Countryside with his castles and historic cities. The municipality of Montespertoli, which covers an area of 125.02 km2, is nestled in the lovely hills of Central Tuscany, part of the Chianti region. The main town stands at 257 metres above sea level, is 25 km from Florence and lies at an equal distance from the tourist towns of San Gimignano, Siena, Pisa and Volterra. The landscape is very varied and is marked by gentle hills and fertile land in terms of morphology and farming as the distinctive hills in the Val di Pesa, consisting of marine sediments, are regarded as some of the best land around. We can talk about a certain scenic unity, a distinctive "Chiantishire" landscape, which is created by relatively low altitudes (up to a maximum of 442 metres above sea level in the Lucardo area) and with the widespread presence of olive trees and vines. The town has a mild climate, albeit exposed to winds on all sides. The continuously sweeping breeze keeps the air fresh and healthy. With its vineyards, wineries and Mostra del Chianti [Chianti Showcase], Montespertoli is one of the Tuscan wine capitals. In addition to oil and bread, the history of wine is one of the distinguishing and most renowned aspects of the whole area. The municipality is well signposted and boasts an array of eateries serving up typical Tuscan food throughout the area. There is a tourist information office and a top sports and tourism centre in the Molino del Ponte area, with football pitches, covered tennis courts, a five-a-side football field, clay pigeon shooting, indoor sports facilities, a pool, hotel and restaurant. The local geography lends itself to the organisation of cultural itineraries over several days. Of particular interest are the Museum of Sacred Art in the church of Pieve di San Piero in Mercato and the A. Bassi Picture Gallery in Piazza Machiavelli. Pool is available from June. In Italy from 1 June 2012 there will be a turist tax euro 1,00 a day for a person and you pay it at the end of the holiday. It isn't included on the price of the stay.
