Pros: The staff were very friendly, spoke good English and were very helpful. The breakfast was a buffet and very good. The waiter was very helpful, friendly and a great conversationalist. The Hotel also provides other meals but if not, there are some good restaurants within 500 metres walking distance of the restaurant. Also the Hotel is very close to the Town Information Centre and is within walking distance of the Mrauk Oo famous ruins.
Cons: A water pipe broke while we were trying to shower so the staff put us in another bungalow. Not long after, the electricity went off in the Guest House (only) but they don't have a generator. The power then went off again and we had to wait for over an hour for the power to be re-instated.
Pros: The staff was super awesome. Everyone was super friendly and helped us with booking taxis/boats and gave us lots of information about Mrauk U. Even though we were the only people staying at the hotel, they staff was still there to help us 24 hours. The location is good too, near many temples and some good spots to see the sunrise and sunset.
Cons: The room was a little old, but no big deal.
Pros: The location is good, but that's about the only thing...
Cons: Change the hotel description, this has nothing of a "boutique hotel" and "Free WiFi in all areas" is a lie too (it apparently only works in the restaurant, and wasn't even working at all when we were there...) Filthy, moldy old room that should not cost more than 20USD/night, very bad value for money ! No mosquito net at windows which is sad as it would allow to let the windows open and those rooms badly need it... Matress so soft it gave me a back ache. The bathroom is a joke (and a bad one), with rusty and dirty stuff, and leaking shower head. It took 30min to get an omelett, and not a particularly good one... forget about that nice picture with buffet breakfast, they probably only do it when they have full occupacy (which I would understand, but they were far from that...) They gave me some weird excuse for not giving me a payment receipt, like it was issued by their office in Yangon, I didn't get it, but surely hope I won't be charged twice... Soundproofing non-existent, good luck trying to sleep with the nearby monastery blasting their music with loudspeakers at maximum... The booking cannot be changed 1 month before the booked date, which, while transparent and clearly displayed when booking, is really bad... Prepayment is never a good thing either, I booked that room by mistake and seriously regretted it afterwards... For all those reasons, I highly advise AGAINST going to this hotel, there are some much better guesthouses and hotels in this town, we tried some.
Pros: Hotel location was excellent. Staff was very helpful and excellent like everywhere else in Myanmar. The ruins were much more impressive than Bagan. The trips out to the Chin villages to see the tattooed women is a must.
Cons: Room requires upgrade. Bathroom was horrific with mould. Accomadation was the poorest we’ve had during our 4 weeks in Myanmar. Restaurant was sub par. Actually, it is very difficult to find good restaurants in Mrauk-u. Breakfast was below average.
Pros: Staff very helpful
Pros: Very good location. Staff pleasant, cabin nice and clean. :Nice gardens.
