For Baden, the location is excellent: extremely quiet location with beautiful gardens all around yet minutes to everything. A perfect oasis. The building itself is grand: the pictures are exactly as it is. The attentiveness of the staff to our questions was superb. For English-speaking travellers, this is a bonus. We highly recommend Villa Gutenbrunn, especially to mature travellers wanting a peaceful break from the hustle and bustle of European cities or those who like to combine hiking with sightseeing. A wide range of walks, short and long, can be accessed directly from the hotel. This is truly a unique hotel in a beautiful place. Our room in particular (room 221) was extremely gracious. As Australians, we would have liked tea and coffee making facitlies in the room.
Hotel staff were great. Breakfast was good. Pride of owner in making sure everyone was well cared for, went out his way for us. none
Very attentive personal. Quietly place. Good bed and pleasant breakfast. Very convitient that they have a tonnel to a spa.
overall relaxed ambience and sense of space and local history, very pleasant breakfast, and ready access to the spa facilities next door ( however see comments in next section) noting that the hotel is physically connected to the spa next door, and the cost of the hotel, suggest that 'complimentary' access ( say, once per day per person) to the spa facilties be included in the tariff
Hotel facilities very far from those required for a 4 star hotel. No refrigerator in the room, no air conditioning, no luggage ramp. Used carpet an furniture, poor breakfast, difficult internet connection, useless staff. Much too expensive. Definitely not stay here again.
The wonderful friendly atmosphare and attention I received from staff as well as the owner himself! The flair of being put back in time! The views into the park. The favourable location! The access to the Roman baths. Just everything! Just a little noisy at times, as every sound re-bounces on the tiled floor. The music, specially at night time when coming home, was too loud, it really should be more soft in my opinion. But the choice of music was very good!
Big , shiny room, very elegant breakfast, accompanied by soft music. The hotel is connected to a spa and we received towels and shower robes from the reception. Behind the hotel, there are beautiful path through the woods, for those interested in biking
Very nice Chateaux, friendly staff, good breakfast and nice clean rooms The possitive comments are far more important than this downsides, but maybe they can wrk at these remarks. To little parking place. During our stay there was a storm and many shutters were slaming whole night long. Something the staff could check in the future.
Great pampering hotel, most facilities free, beautiful location including gardens, amazing breakfast. Large room with bath and shower and french doors opening onto balcony with chairs.Close to town with good local restaurants. Mineral baths in town good and open late. Restaurant menu in the evening was unappetising to us so we went into town. We noticed the restaurant was almost empty and it was expensive.
The location of the hotel is perfect - there is a huge park with a rosarium just in front of it, the interior of the hotel and the rooms is excellent, the staff is extremely helpful and the spa is wonderful and empty! The bathrooms could be bigger (in the superior room it is rather small), bit this is not something the hotel can actually change; the breakfast could include fresh juices
The staff were amazing - friendly, efficient, helpful. The spa services (while expensive) were so luxurious that we still felt value for money, And the food was fantastic!
The staff was really nice. Even though Christina messed up our booking, the lady at the front desk was very helpful and gave us un upgrade (a suite instead ob a superior room). Breakfast was great. The hotel location is very good - close to the center of Baden, but still far away enough to be able to escape. The rosarium and Doblhoffpark are very pretty. The person who confirmed our reservation. She confirmed that we would have a room in the old building with a balcony. Upon arrival, we were told that Christina should have known better... there was no such room available due to a wedding. After we told the nice receptioninst that this was our wedding anniversary weekend and we specifically booked the 'old' room, she made a couple of calls and gave us a suite - in the new building. The plus is that the new building is air conditioned and was very quiet.
very polite and helpful staff at the hotel, excellent spa area, substantial breakfast No,
The wonderful park insidwe position. Absence of diet and child's menu. The restaurannt is in general inadequatly expensive.
The spa! It was a new facility and just lovely. The staff were great. The grounds were pretty and adjacent to a fabulous rose garden. The rooms were not as clean as I want. The bath had a shower but was not really designed for one and water sprayed everywhere. The rooms looked as though they had been well used since they were renovated. Most guests and staff smoked a lot so it was hard to get away from cigarette smoke, although our room thankfully was a non-smoking room.
Services The smell of the pillows and bed lingeries is terrible. Change the pillows.
the location room was very small and not like the photp displayed
I thought the staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and held in a pleasant surrounding. The bedroom was too hot and there was no temperature control
Nice room, with all facilities and lots of space The rooms look a bit old, but are very clean.
The Hotel is situated close to the center furnitures from the 70's, warm breakfast was available for request, but we were not informed about it
Lovely spa area and delicious food, very friendly staff and big comfortable and functional rooms!
No air conditioning. Rooms at front noisy from street activity and deliveries.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. In spite of my comments below it was a very enjoyable stay and the hotel was generally of a high standard. The cuisine was excellent and provided a great range of dishes. But ...... The choice of music played over the PA (60s/70s pop music) was not what I thought suitable for a town which is identifying itself so strongly with the composer Haydn. Who was the music for? No-one that I could see in the hotel! The carpet in the breakfast room was not clean and was completely worn away on the treads of steps. On our first morning there was a chair with a stained seat in the place where I sat and there was broken glass under a neighbouring table. But, I must stress, this was not typical of the hotel as a whole.
Very good in all departments including restaurant Having to pay for the garage
especially swimming pool and sauna, opened late at night, very good bread for breakfast, good and big amount of coffee little choice of vegetables (and not very visible) and cheese for breakfast
Good breakfast and parking Loaction not very good in town, bar closed early.
spa area, food, wine unfortunately no free internet
We loved everthything about this hotel. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fantastic. The room was immaculate and was maintained that way for the 5 days that we stayed there. We had a rental car and there was a private parking area provided on the premises at no charge. The hotel is located within a short walk to the train station. It is only a 15 minute ride to Vienna for 2 Euro. We were able to leave our rental car in the hotel parking lot and take the train to Vienna. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel if you are looking for quality at a very affordable price.
Don't let the modern unattractive exterior fool you, this is a very nice hotel, especially considering the low price. The rooms are spacious, quiet, spotless and the wi-fi is excellent. Unlike many smaller hotels in Europe, there is even an elevator (lift) and free on-site parking. The included breakfast was one of the best we have ever had at a hotel. There is a automatic cappucino/expresso machine, hard boiled and scrambled eggs, American style crispy bacon (speck), assortment of breads/Croissants, charcuterie/cold cuts, cheeses, juices, teas, yogurts and the list goes on. The service was excellent and efficient. It is well located in a lovely small town only about 15 minutes from the Airport and is close to downtown Vienna as well. It makes a perfect last or first night stop to or from the airport. Remember that the electronic key card must be placed at the receptacle at entrance to the room to activate the electricity in the room (energy saving feature). BUT this makes it VERY easy to leave the key locked in the room upon exit. Staff was very helpful to get us back into the locked room. Unattractive exterior
God breakfast buffé and beautiful suroundings. Very good for a relaxing weekend Maybe they should have earplugs in the bathroom because it was party at the Casino next door every evening...you did hear the music but it was ok
The location across the wonderful Kurpark and only blocks from the City Centre. Very pleasant staff and good selections at the breakfast buffet. some technical problems..small...need service.
It was very pleasant stay with friendly staff and comfortable rooms.Very good breacfasts.Swimming pool in SPA with mineral water is just opposite the hotel
Room was really big, and quite recently renovated. There were lots of free parking places in front of the hotel. Located at the city center, but also not far away from Vienna or country side. Our room was not cleaned under the bed. Breakfast could have been better. Sound-proofing was not the best. We could hear people walking at the corridor and speaking in the neighbouring room.
They have a really great menu in their onsite restaurant and the food was lovely. The room was not really what I would call 3 star – it was extremely small, very dated and really in need of some money spent to bring it up to a 3 star standard (sheets had holes that head been patched but very uncomfortable).
We've returned from the Italy and stay for one night in this hotel and it was Excellent!!! Especially, in comparison with Italian hotels. All, staff, room, location is superb. Breakfast is not so rich, but for this money it's also excellent. We will recommend this hotel to our friends, definitely. No such things.
Very nice family hotel, the owner cares about the guests and is always around to help and to chat. The breakfast on porch during nice sunny day is to remember. The rooms with terrace are more appartment that usual hotel room - very comfortable. With 20 minutes to Vienna and laying on the wine road the place of hotel is very strategic for holidays. Highly recommended. The bed sheets are the only thing that should be improved, but we had the same experience with other family run hotels. But definitely not something to disturb the stay.
Very kind people. quiet, relaxing, happy to help you. Quiet and comfortable
Very close to A2, friendly service, good mattress, quiet place. The hotel has been refurbished, but it's the old building, so rooms may look somehow strange. Anyway, the hotel is run by the same family since 19th century, and it;s worth to see how real family business should look like :) A little bit overpriced, but for one night it's ok.
Quiet place with delicious breakfast and very friendly owner.
Access to restaurants. Hotel and room smelled of cigarette smoke
Family handled, excellent service and good food. Rooms are comfortable and wide
perfect location, all possibilities to watch water birds in the wild, a wonderful selection of wines in the neaby cosy restaurants - all peace and quiet!
Hotel staff was excellent. Hotel charged us for breakfast for our 4 year old daughter.
Seehotel Rust is very nice to stay for short weekend break. Location is just perfect for biking and any lake related activities. Food at the restaurant was great (so no worries for half board). Rust is very nice small city with beautifull (even small) old town area, good restaurants and wine bars. -
This was a return visit; I stayed also in January 2009 and 2008. The wine list is much improved, excellent to have local wines and the wine service from the young man was very thoughtful. There seem to be fewer staff than usual whcih means they had less time to be friendly. We had to have all our meals in the same dining room - in the past we also had a chance to use the other dining room. The lobby was cold because the fire was not lit. There was nowhere for nonsmokers like ourselves to sit except in the dining room. The coffee machine does not produce a really good Viennese coffee!
Location Evening meal (buffet style) making the main courses generally tepid rather than hot. Small car park.
Nice surroundings - cycle routes, wineyards. We enjoyed swimming pool and saunas. Wellness was free of charge and open the whole day till 10pm. Everything was ok but we did not really like the room itself. Furniture seemed to be old and not like in 4*hotels and there was nothing else in the bathroom except shower gel and shower cap.
Very welcoming, very helpful and efficiently run.
Great location - close to Vienna - and in a lovely town with vineyards. Very helpful staff.
The service was excellent. The staff was absolutly lovely.
Staff was extremely helpful. Ac was a blessing in a 2,000 year old town. Breakfast was beautiful every morning. Rooms were spacious and clean as were the bathrooms. Everything an American would want in a hotel. Location could not be beat anywhere ine the Vienna Woods area of Lower Austria. Twenty minutes to Vienna. Would go back again and again. Thank you Hotel Turmhof.
It's very relaxing and away from the busy city centre as well as next to lots of wine yards, which is a major plus! The hotel staff is very polite and friendly as well. I will come back here again! None whatsoever.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff, who took wonderful care of us and our dog. Excellent breakfast. Great location right next to the vineyards and a (national) park, with marked walking trails. Several cosy restaurants nearby serving homemade meals.
Very good location for visits to Vienna. Beautiful village within the vintage area.
