The staffs were very kind to tell me some touristic spots in the city of Nicosia and how to enter the Turkish side temporarily. It is not so far from the center of Nicosia, so you can walk there.
Helpful, flexible owers. Reasonable value for Nicosia.
Bedrooms a bit dated b ut very reasonable for the price.
The personnel is kind and ready to help you. The hotel offers plug-in adaptor at the european stlyle.
The location is not so good as they claim. The continental breakfast is really poor.
Very kind attutude of the stuff, always ready to help, quite surrounding and cosy "castle" atmosphere
We stayed at the Averof for 2 nights in late October. It's quite a bit outside of the city center but we didn't mind the walk as the hotel was in a very quiet residential neighbourhood and the downtown area seemed rather noisy. Our room was clean, had a small balcony and a ok bathroom.
The room was very small and looked a bit depressing and oldfashioned. The breakfast was ok but we missed some fresh fruit or a bit more variety. The coffee that we ordered once in the lobby cost us a fortune! (it was just ordinary Nescafe) Since it was the off-season there were only a few guests, but I still think the owner/manager could have shown a little bit more interest in his customers.
It was dry and the water was warm, eventually.
There was lots of arguing going at night. I arrived very early from an overnight flight and was told that check in was not till 12noon - no offer to store luggage or sit in the foyer etc. I went outside to my car and slept on the back seat for about 2 hours. Breakfast was minimalist - you had to ask for an egg or a piece of cheese. Bread was old dry rolls. Corridors often stank of tobacco
Hotel clean and simple. Nice rustic decor. Staff helpful and friendly. Good value for 46 euros a night
Bit of a walk to the old city, especially when you've been walking all day, easy to get lost when dark. Had to ask for towels on 2nd day as maid hadn't issued fresh ones when cleaning room. Another guest complained that his room had'nt been cleaned and was told that cleaners had gone home
The hotel was extremely difficult to find and the website map instructions not correct. The hotel was in a residential area, well out of Nicosia's main town and not lit up at night making it even more difficult and frustrating to locate. Breakfast very poor, family staff members off-hand and non-welcoming and you have to pay for airconditioning which is only set on a fixed very low setting.
the location, it is very calm
I really enjoyed my stay there
the location, friendly staff
breakfast: nothing hot; nescafe instead of filter coffee
