10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners were very friendly. They gave us background about the island and took the time to help us with travel plans. The food at their restaurant was excellent.
Cons: We couldn't find an ATM in the small town.
6.3 Good
Pros: Vatera is a nice long beach in Lesvos, a quite resort with clear waters protected from the prevailing northerly winds. The sea is a bit steep but was still OK for my family. The sunbeds and umbrella is provided by the hotel for free. It is a family run hotel. The staff are friendly and try their best to look after their customers. The restaurant has a traditional menu - "giagia's recipes". The food is well cooked - it lacks in creativity but this is widespread across Lesvos.
Cons: We found the cleaning of our room substandard when done (every other day). The rooms are a little small and the furniture in need of updating.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was so attentive to our very need!! Lovely property!

6.7 Good
Pros: beachfront
Cons: food
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Having to take our own bags up 3 flights as husband had a bad shoulder.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: The room was organized.
Cons: I don’t even know where to start... we had booked this hotel after reading Matt Barrett’s stellar recommendation of this place. We were planning a family reunion - 2 families coming from different parts of the US, 1 coming from Morocco. This was to celebrate my MIL’s 75th birthday. After arriving in the afternoon, we knew late that night that we had to pull the eject, before the 3rd family arrived, even though we were booked for 4 nights. Thankfully we had just come from Molyvos, where we had a wonderful experience, so we just headed back. I would like to mention that in our group were 2 young children and a stroke-impaired 79 year old, so deciding to hop in the car with no reservations of where to stay in another town was pretty gutsy, and most telling of just how unacceptable the current accommodations were. Our room, while tacky with pink and blue walls, was ok, my in-laws room was unacceptable. There was not even a window. Depressing, prison-like, down-and-out are a few descriptors I would use for it. According to locals in Lesvos, tourism is down 50% on the island and has been down since 2015. It is clear that this hotel (and Vatera in general) has fallen on hard times. Many items on the menu were unavailable - this was not a ‘we’ve just run out’ situation: all of the servers were well versed in what they had and didn’t have, and there were too many items that they didn’t have. There was a huge tv and video games set up in the lobby; we had seen kids playing with it earlier in the day. When we asked if we could use it, we were told by a child staffer that it ‘was his cousin’s, and not for guests’, which is a rather odd thing to have set up in a hotel lobby. We realized then that the hotel seemed to be overrun with family and friends of the hotel owners - they were sitting and eating together; there didn’t seem to be other guests.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This family truly demonstrates Greek hospitality! The location of the hotel and accomodations exceeded expectations. The breakfast buffet as well as the food at the resturant was delicious .
7.1 Good
Pros: Great location just meters from what I believe to be one of the best but most underrated beaches in Greece (Vatera). There is a great pool, which is easily accessible when entering the property and has a great view of the sea when seating at the pool bar.
Cons: Kind of reminded me the colour theme and decor from the movie “My Big Fat Greek Wedding”, which is not necessarily a bad thing. The room amenities could do with a bit of an update. The pool area was a bit crowded and loud with kids. Property more appropriate for families with young children

3.3 Mediocre
Cons: 1-they charged us extra 10euros for the breakfast with a very rude manner and we did not reserved for the breakfast at the booking!, and he did not give us the receipt of our total payment. 2- the air conditioning at room was extremely loud. Even though we turned it off, the loud noise continued as the neighbouring rooms ac motor was in our balcony!! Couldnt able to sleep at all. A total waste of our precious holiday time and money:( 3- the owners and their kitchen, all interior space looked and smelled filthy
