What are the pros of staying at Hotel Famitic Nikko?
The location is close to the station, across the street from the family mart, and there is a public hot spring pool on the ground floor. Bathrooms were equipped with hairdryers, cotton buds, cotton pads, hot water showers, and hand wash. Rooms are cozy and equipped with heaters, hot water, green tea, towels, shampoo, conditioner, and robes for onsen. The hotel staff are very friendly and accommodating. They offer free coffee, tea, and juice in the morning. Small comfortable rooms with your own personal toilet. There's a convenience store right in front of the hotel and a ramen shop right next door. Onsen on the first floor. The room also had a clothesline in case you do laundry in the hotel, which is convenient. Great capsule hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The onsen is welcome after a day spent exploring Nikko. Very good location, close to the train station, close to the bus stop. It is like a hostel with bunk beds but you have your private space - it is like a very small room somehow that you can lock with the key. It was okay for me as I was out most of the time traveling around and spent there only the nights. Fantastic location - Close enough to the main sites as well as both train stations. Very easy to leave your stuff in the lockers just outside - just leave your stuff and come back into the building when ready. Great ramen place next door. Comfortable very private room. Little onsen on-site is good enough to soak your feet after walking around Nikko all day. Very friendly, smiley staff! Considering the location/how touristy Nikko is, it was incredible value for money, especially for one night. For the price, it's very good: you have your own room with a TV, it's well-located. The sento is nice. The place is close to the train station and the bus stop. Also, it was clean and the staff members were very nice. Brilliant value for money; basic accommodation but perfect for solo travelers. Room was a good size and well-equipped, onsen bath was a plus. Brilliant location 1 minute away from Tobu-Nikkō Station and Tobu bus routes. The communal bath was an excellent end of the day treat after a long hike. The breakfast was good. The convenience store was across the street. This is also located not far from the train station. Buses are not far, so if you have to do an excursion in the mountains, it is very convenient. Basically, I had my own small. I think the isolation was pretty good because I couldn't really hear others. The small onsen felt really nice at the end of the day. Location is good. Near the train station and there is a family mart across the street. Coffee & tea is free at the lobby in the morning. Good facilities, clean and comfortable. Clean and location. Really close to the station. Across the street is a family mart. There is onsen at the hotel but the female one is really small. It can only fit a maximum of two people. The onsen is really hot, which I like. I really like the room too since it's tatami. There is a toilet in the room too but no shower. Friendly staff, great location. Located on the main street between the railway station and the sights. Restaurants nearby and 24/7 convenience store over the road. Excellent location close to the train station and food markets. Very clean rooms. We had a room with our own bathroom. Great location, convenient store just opposite the road, the hot public bath giving you a Japanese touch.
What are the cons of staying at Hotel Famitic Nikko?
Breakfast will take out the food that was not taken out the day before and continue to display it. It is recommended that if there are not many people eating, the dishes can be packed into small portions. The table for breakfast is not very clean. I could be wrong, but if you have tattoos you won't be able to use the onsen or book it to use privately. All ok. Soundproofing isn't great, even though you're in your own little room. The sound insulation is quite bad, you hear everything that is happening outside your room. The walls of the capsules are very thin. However, I didn’t mind too much since everyone was respectfully quiet. The "very small room" is actually too small ;-) The bed was so so (hard Japanese mattress). The WiFi didn't connect for me whilst I was there and for luggage storage, tip: the inside lockers will return your money, the outside ones don't. The room was a little too warm, and there was no women's restroom on my floor, so I had to use the sink/WC downstairs or upstairs. The downstairs sink was too public at times (no closed door), but the upstairs toilet smelled a little odd to me. The onsen on the property was cold when I arrived; checked-in at 14:00. I did return later that evening and the pool was warm/hot so perhaps a delay in preparation. Attempted early check-in (30min prior to check-in time) but the office was completely closed. In-house onsen was a little dirty. Lockers to put luggage were on a first-come-first-serve basis and open to the public. If we did not reach early enough or if there were many guests using the lockers, there would not be any locker slots. The communal bath was an excellent end of the day treat and a long hike. The breakfast was good but ran out of some food - go early. Rooms were really small. There was nowhere to put our luggage. Room is a bit meh, but for what you pay, you can't expect more. The washing machine on the 1st floor is working "ok-ish," but your clothes might smell (probably the machine needs a full cleaning in itself). The onsen bath, no tattoo allowed, but just look before you go in (very small bath for up to 3 or 4 max). The room is not that clean. In my room, it was dirty, and the toilet is dirty. You can hear everything in the corridor, need better sound isolation. The door is not soundproof, you may hear if your neighbor became noisy. The front entrance and ground floor were a little crowded and did not give a great first impression. The room was much cleaner in comparison. Room at the end of the row is very small compared to the others in between. Beds a bit hard.
