Best Nogueira de Ramuín hotelsShow all
Pros: This is a beautiful property. It is Gill and Benito’s home and they make you feel as though you are their guests rather than being in a faceless hotel.
Cons: There wasn’t anything we didn’t like. One thing to be aware of is that WiFi is only available in the living room. This wasn’t a problem for us but it may be if you have phone addicted teenagers with you.
Pros: Extremely helpful & welcoming hosts Beautiful house in tranquil setting. Gorgeous pool and outdoor space Large tastefully decorated bedroom & bathroom with quality furnishings
Pros: Gill and Benito are exceptional hosts, sharing their local knowledge generously added an extra dimension to our stay. This is an exceptionally comfortable property with lovely sitting areas and beautiful grounds.
Cons: Wifi service could be better
Pros: Patron great attitude and brilliant English. Art work by his wife colourful and imaginative
Pros: Everything was wonderful. The place really deserves to be called "grande".
Cons: No wifi in bedroom.
Pros: Excellent service, attention to detail, always ready to help with a smile
Located in Nogueira de Ramuin, Caserío de Fontes is within a 15-minute drive of Afiador Monument and San Pedro de Rocas Monastery. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Diana (the manager) is very friendly with full knowledge of the surrounds and willing to share such information especially if you want to find the best mirador in the area. The room is cosy even on a cool night, and the cleanliness was very good. Coffee at breakfast was very pleasant, and the dogs like a pat.
Cons: The rooms can be a little noisy with the thin floors, so you can hear all the neighbouring guests.
Pros: Very cosy, good breakfast, super warm reception.
Cons: Wifi signal is not that good.
Pros: The owners are simply amazing and really helpful. We had an amazing stay. Only criticism breakfast only had margarine and no butter :) but the rest was brilliant
Pros: I especially liked the warmth of the hostess and the breakfast was lovely. They have some dogs and a cat there who are very friendly too.
Cons: The rooms aren't very soundproof (the cheapest ones) so for a longer stay we will definitely book a more expensive room next time. And you would probably be okay with just English but it is good if you speak Spanish.
Pros: Diana was so friendly and so accommodating to our needs. Best place to stay in the area.
Cons: Needed more sunshine!!!
Pros: Diana was a fantastic host, a home from home. Restaurant Campanario in luintra is top class.
Cons: More sunshine !!!
Pros: The owner Diana was extremely friendly and give a lot of valuable advises for the visit of the Cañon de Sil.
Cons: wireless access was rather slow
Located in Nogueira de Ramuin, Parador de Santo Estevo is within a 15-minute drive of Afiador Monument and Sil Canyon. Featured amenities include express check-in, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Planning an event in Nogueira de Ramuin? This hotel has facilities measuring 200 square feet (19 square meters), including a meeting room. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Daniel the maitre d is an excellent professional who runs the main restaurant with quiet confidence. He is eager to please and very attentive, making up for a somewhat lethargic staff at the hotel overall! Magnificent structure-steeped in spiritual history! BEAUTIFUL !!!!
Cons: The vile smell from a surrounding sewage plant infests and overwhelms certain rooms and can at intervals be smelled whilst dining at the restaurant. Very very disappointing- though admittedly out of management's control or remit. The staff are a little slow, particularly at reception who never seem to answer the phone. Waited 25 minutes to check-in and not so much as an apology! The SPA timetable is a little bizarre and some features were not in good working order.
Pros: Stunning location
Cons: Ants in the bathroom
Pros: Stunning location full of charm and history, with excellent cuisine and sumptuous breakfast
Pros: The location is spectacular, in the mountains overlooking the valley of the Rio Sil. The parador is in a beautifully restored monastery, with three lovely cloisters and a wonderful little balcony tucked away on the first (American second) floor where one can sit and look at the mountains and the river. There are walks in the woods that start right at the monastery. The whole setting is simply lovely. I wish we had stayed more than just two nights. The rooms are gorgeous, large, and extremely comfortable. All in all, a marvelous place. The breakfast was outstanding, as was dinner in the formal restaurant which we booked for our second night. For lunches and our other dinner, we ate in the cafeteria/cafe, which serves delicious (and huge!) sandwiches, salads, croquettes, etc. It was really nice to have that option available as an alternative to the formal restaurant, and we appreciated that the cafeteria was open straight through from 11:00 a.m. to midnight.
Pros: Fabulous redoing of a 1,000 year old monastery. Very modern without hurting the medieval vibe.
Cons: Tight garage parking
Pros: Parador de Santo Estevo is a Benedictine monastery, located in the heart of the Ribeira Sacra, a natural space of original beauty where the rivers Miño and Sil converge. The hotel has a very good restaurant with very nice food and wines from the region.
Pros: Monastery was amazing, room was good.. One member of staff was great on reception and in the spa, very helpful and he had excellent English.
Cons: Dead flies and a dead wasp on the windowsill throughout our 3 night stay. Some staff were a little sharp especially in the cafe and at breakfast. The road from the N120 is very rough, would not recommend to anyone on a motorcycle. Hot breakfast options were not very hot, on the last day they were positively cold.
Pros: The hotel location was very beautiful but is out in the middle of nowhere Ourenze is also a city that unfortunately is just a large city without much to see. Was not impressed with the restaurants in Ourenze either. The hotel has a very nice restaurant and cafeteria so you do not have to go to Ourenze Room was very nice and beautiful and comfortable as is the entire hotel!
Cons: The distance to Ourenze
Pros: The property is beautiful and the surroundings are amazing.
Cons: On a very hot day , there was no air conditioning in the room. They offered alternative rooms but none of them had functioning air conditioning. The registers blew hot air. They were incapable of addressing the problem to get ac to work. At one point they told us it was illegal to turn on the ac. This issue made our stay miserable despite the idyllic surroundings.
Pros: - splendid parador - room and bathroom as can be expected in this hotel chain, very quiet - car park for approx. 25 cars in front of hotel - there is also a garage - good meal in the restaurant
Cons: - nothing to dislike

Pros: Good breakfast like at home, spacious and cozy room, friendly and helpful staff.
Pros: Lovely food, helpful host, great location. It was a wonderful place to stay
Pros: Everything was great since we arrived, the place is in the middle of an incredibly peaceful and lovely nature. The hotel is a boutique type, every detail is made with love. Our room was large and beautiful with a large terrace and a large bathroom. There was a dulce vita coffee machine in the room. The bed was comfortable. The owner was really nice and welcoming since we arrived and our dog was welcomed without trouble. We had both dinner and breakfast, the breakfast was very good and he gets anything you ask for. Thanks Anthony for a lovely stay.
Pros: The property is cared for with love. Beautiful area. The hosts were kind and attentive

Pros: Breakfast - really really good (Spanish twist on full English)
Pros: I stayed in a newly renovated room with gorgeous, original floors. It was a beautiful space, very tastefully and appropriately decorated. Everything very clean which cannot be easy in a room with stone walls. A lovely stay with exceptionally engaging hosts. Excellent breakfast included a specialty of the house banana muffins and breads served with house-made rhubarb jam. This was a real treat!
Pros: The location of this beautiful little ‘castle’ is located in the countryside of Galicië. If you like a quiet place then this is the place to go. Warm welcome, spectacular rooms and surrounding. The atmosphere can be described as relaxed. Don’t forget to ask William the story about the secret room. BTW...breakfast is also very good.
Cons: Everything was perfect
Pros: I was one of the first visitors to the Pazo following the new ownership. The difference between then and now is nothing short of breathtaking. The guest rooms have been completely refurbished with lovely furnishings, authentic antiques and handmade tapestries. Everything is warm, rlegant and so inviting. Bill and Juan Carlos remain the consummate hosts attending to your every need and so engaging! I have recommended the Pazo to a number of friends and no one has been disappointed. The Ribera Sacra wine trail makes for an especially delicious visit.. Things are constantly changing here which makes a visit well worthwhile. Meiculous restoration is always in process. Don't miss this!
Cons: Not a thing!
Pros: the house, the room, the stories, the dog and cat and a very good breakfast!
Cons: warm welcome by owner Bill and Skippy the dog in a lovingly and beautiful restored Spanish noblemans house. Beautiful garden/lands and views and a gorgeous comfortable room with balcony and very nice bathroom! A lot of love and thought has gone in to this place and it shows. You just keep on looking and enjoying all the details, furniture, etc. Bill is very knowledgeable about the history of the house and a great storyteller over a good glass of wine. We had a great time and will certainly stay again when in the area!
Pros: William has been very helpful and he managed to make us feel like in home. His wide knowledge about the area and his refined taste in telling stories about the pazo plus the magic of the place itself have made from our stay a remarkable experience. We will not hesitate to come back and explore the magic of the Ribera Sacra in more detail. Highly recommended!
Pros: A lovely welcome from our hosts William and Juan Carlos and Skippy the dog. Our room was very comfortable with lovely soft beds.
Cons: Really enjoyed our stay and had no issues.
Pros: A fabulous and interesting place. This historic manor house has so much character and has been beautifully restored by the owners. The interior is full of carefully chosen antiques and tapestries. We were warmly greeted by the owners, Bill and Juan Carlos, Bill is American and is an enthusiastic hispanophile. The breakfast was tasty and plentiful and the beds super comfy. The Pazo is just a few minutes drive from the nearest village where there are shops and bars. This is our 2nd visit and we will definitely go back again.
Pros: The Pazo is a stunning building and has been restored with love and attention to detail. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable with beautiful antique furniture. We were able to arrange for a scrumptious meal on our first night made with fresh produce from the garden. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. Flowers from the garden in our room, and an extra blanket added to the bed when it grew chilly. William produced hand drawn maps and recommended off the beaten track places to see and restaurants to visit, even arranging for a church to be opened for us to visit. We had a fab time exploring the area which is stunning and sampling some excellent wines. We were sad to leave. William is passionate about the Pazo and the area and ensuring his guests enjoy their stay.
Cons: There was nothing we felt could have been done to improve our stay

Pros: Although located out of town, it was an easy 10-15 minute drive to the centre of Ourense. NB: difficult to locate using the car Satnav as it's on a main road and not near to any particular place. An old-fashioned map helped! Spacious hotel with ample free parking outside. Good onsite bar/tapas/cafe. Overall great value for the price.
Cons: Pillows were old-fashioned bolsters, not very comfortable - used the chair cushion instead!!
Pros: Particularly the restaurant and it's staff with a special thank you to Jose Antonio for translating for me and making my stay a pleasure.
Cons: Hotel & gardens were a credit but, not too much else in the immediate vicinity.
Pros: The view of the gardens
Cons: Early breakfast was not possible
Pros: Pleasant friendly staff, helpful, attractive gardens
Cons: Hotel is more traditional and old fashioned but clean. Room adequate, bed could be more comfortable and although bathroom was modern, the water didn’t run away from basin, and no plug. WiFi was patchy, worked on and off. On the day we stayed, we were told that we could only eat in the bar in the evening which was fine but the menu was very limited and quality poor, everything seemed to have been convenience food from the freezer. Disappointing. The restaurant itself was attractive with a varied menu but appears not to open in the evening.
Pros: Once located was actually handy for Ourens
Cons: Had to move rooms the extractor fan for kitchen came through our room making the wall vibrate and a noise. Next day we returned to 2 hours of floor sanding in room below us.
Pros: We chose this hotel as a base for exploring the area as we didn't want to stay in the larger town of Ourense. It fulfilled its purpose very well. It's a functional, clean and relatively comfortable hotel.
Cons: The price was very reasonable with breakfast included but we would have paid a little more for a better breakfast - one coffee and one croissant hardly sets one up for the day
Pros: Staff and the amazing interior. Good to have parking on site. Nice restaurant over the road. Jose used phone translator to help us.
Cons: Double room was a little spartan..only one chair but there was a delightful sitting area just down the hall.
Pros: The bed was very comfortable.
Cons: Very noisy due to a wedding party up to midnight.
Pros: Great bedroom and bathroom
