Great location. Staff were all friendly but waters constantly having to apologise for slow service.
The interior was very dark with little natural daylight. No lifts so we had to carry heavy cases up two flights of (steep) stairs. Room was small dark and very dated. Bed was made each day but carpet not cleaned during our three night stay. Bed creaked at every movement and mattress gave us both bad backs and broken sleep (not to mention thin walls meant we heard next door guests snoring). Food was OK but chef clearly couldn’t tell difference between herbs and put tarragon on a pizza (which was burnt) instead of basil making the dish taste awful. On another occasion our soup was served cold. Generally at both breakfast and dinner we waited an average of 30 minutes between sitting and receiving first course ( we were not the only ones, a group of six waited over an hour for their breakfast on one occasion).
The lobby the fantastic dinner the view the team
The publication on booking com is for 5 stars hotel which it is but the room we rented is in the motel part. That was not clear and a bit dissapointing Everything else was perfact
The manor is great located, the surroundings and the views are absolutely breathtaking. The breakfast and dinner choices that were included in our booking were also absolutely great and delicious. Nothing to complain about here :-) And the restaurant for dinner and breakfast is very nice, very manor-like (or at least what we expected). The small town of North Conway is very nice and great things to do are not far away - such as the Mt. Washington Auto Road. They gave us a little snack for the road when checking out - thank you for this, this was so nice and sweet :-)
The room was more rustic than we expected. The doors were sometimes quite difficult to handle and they needed a lot of strength to open or close properly. The WiFi did not work properly, we often had problems with the connection while in our room. The bathroom was small and simple, we expected more manor-like rooms. But I guess it all depends on the room category you choose :-) And, the bed was very comfy :-)
Meals were excellent. Staff was outstanding. Close to so many great things to do.
Can hear the conversations, television next door. Unless you have quiet neighbors, it can be disturbing.
Good location and excellent dinner
Dingy and a bit scruffy, big issue with breakfast, had to wait close to an hour for poached eggs on muffin, which were not cooked properly when the arrived
Stonehurst Manor is a unique hotel that combines the elegance and aesthetic of the 19th century with the conveniences of modern-day hotels. This beautiful manor is designed to be a special romantic getaway for couples who want something more than an average hotel and something different than the usual resort experience. Every one of the 26 rooms in Stonehouse Manor come with a stunning view of the nearby mountainside along with in-room jacuzzis, fireplaces and lavish Old World bedding.
Besides the beautiful look of Stonehurst Manor, many guests choose to stay here for incredible Wild Rose Restaurant. Both breakfast and dinner are included with the price of a hotel stay, an exclusive perk for hotel guests. The centerpiece of the Wild Rose restaurant is the massive stone oven where the kitchen staff bakes up fresh bread and rustic pizza. There are dishes with influences from all around the world, but the seafood dishes are especially delicious because the fish, shrimp, and lobster all come from the nearby coast of Maine. Menu standouts include oven-baked French onion soup and lobster ravioli.
A hotel as beautiful as Stonehurst Manor makes for a natural event space. The hotel and surrounding grounds can be reserved for weddings and other formal events, with on-site catering done by The Wild Rose. The hotel has a dedicated wedding coordinator for events and visitors can say their vows in either a lush garden or a spacious indoor event space.
Surrounding Stonehurst Manor is some of the most beautiful sights that New Hampshire has to offer. There are miles of picturesque hiking trails for nature enthusiasts and many different shopping destinations for those looking to engage in some retail therapy. Finally, golfers will find Stonehurst Manor to be an absolute haven, as it is close to not one, but several golf courses.
