Located in Notre-Dame-de-Monts, Hôtel de l'Océan is by the sea, within a 10-minute drive of Explora Park and Thalasso Thermes Marins. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
Pros: Breakfast was the best thing about our visit.
Cons: I am trying to be fair. Everything was OK- ish. Nothing outstanding, it was basic, I think that is the best way to describe the hotel. It had a sad air about it and it was a bit smelly. Probably the worst place we stayed in in 2 weeks. I will never visit it again
Pros: Just a 2 minutes walk from an excellent beach. Our room was very cozy with a lovely view to the walking street. Welcoming and helpful staff.
Cons: Extremely small shower, like on ferries, but it was ok for us. No place for drying beach clothes.
Pros: Beautiful room with terrace. Exceptionally clean comfortable roon . Lovely reception help with and secure bicycle store. Breakfast adequate.
Pros: Staff were friendly. Near seafront.
Cons: Tiny room and minute bathroom. Breakfast overpriced. Town dead in mid September.
Pros: Good location
Cons: Wish we had been told to book in for dinner when we checked in. As it was they couldn’t accommodate us without a reservation due to a ‘wind festival‘ and great crowds. We couldn’t get in anywhere else for ages either.
Pros: Location location location & price!
Cons: What’s not to like at this price for where it is!
Pros: The bed is very basic but comfortable. There is room enough to put the clothes. There are two fares for the breakfast ; either basic with hot dringk, bread and croissant or the buffet which is simple but includes ham, cheese, juice... Fruits ar not always fresh Very near the shore.
Cons: Bathroom very small. It is a cabin including lavabo, WC and shower same as in the Première classe hotel. We were there out of high season (september) so it was very quiet. I don't know during high season if it not a bit noisy since we had ear taps available.
Pros: Perfect location for cycling Eurovelo 1
Cons: bed was ok
Pros: Staff were very attentive
Cons: No lift, so had to carry heavy bag up flight of stairs
Pros: Cleaner did a great job each day. Pool was lovely. Breakfast was rather pastry heavy but very nice. Great to have a safe car park attached to the property.
Cons: A kettle in the room would have been appreciated so we could make hot drinks.
Pros: nice pool that was quiet.
Cons: poor breakfast, were not charged the rate advised on booking.com
Pros: the pool & the service
Cons: very small bedroom. very used furniture. white carrels on the floor.
Pros: Location and pool.
Cons: Odd smell in bedroom - like stale BO.
Pros: The lady on reception, dinner and breakfast was terrific. Friendly, helpful and understanding. Both dinner and breakfast hit the spot.Well done
Pros: Pool was wonderful. Restaurant food was good. Path through the pine forest down to the sea was wonderful - with a fabulous beach.
Cons: Breakfast area a bit cramped. Some fresh fruit would have been good at breakfast. The blurb said "we speak your language", but the lady on reception definitely didn't. We managed though.
Pros: The friendly caring atmosphere. Everything was easy to access, located around a central pool.
Cons: Nothing. It was all good.
Pros: Site good.
Cons: Lady owner very rude and miserable.
Pros: Very friendly and welcoming staff, nice quiet location, but close to the centre and beach, and a fantastic pool
Cons: The hotel is a little dated but clean, and rooms need A/C or a fan
