De Stormvogel is a bed&breakfast in Baaiduinen, a calm village on the island of Terschelling. It offers cosy accommodation with free Wi-Fi, a south-facing terrace and a bicycle rental service. The rooms are located on the first and second floor of this typical Terschellinger farmhouse. They have a seating corner of 2 armchairs with TV. Other amenities include a tea/coffee maker, small fridge and a washing machine. A breakfast consisting of local products and home grown fruit is served in the hotel’s café. A wide range of restaurants is located in Midsland, a village 1 km away from De Stormvogel. The village of West-Terschelling is 5 km away by car. It is also easy to reach bus, which stops in front of De Stormvogel.
Pros: Very nice hosts and delicious breakfast!
Pros: Convenient location for exploring the island. Lovely views out over the fields towards the dikes. Breakfast was good and terrace at the rear was a bonus. The owner's brewing operation is very interesting and Jolle is very knowledgeable about the island, its wildlife and its history.
Cons: Limited headroom in the bedroom was not good for a tall person.
This charming old parsonage dates back from 1907, and is now a cosy and intimate B&B. It is a good choice for a relaxing, quiet stay, surrounded by nature. In the past 100 years several reverends lived at the parsonage, and the 4 deluxe rooms are all named after them. Each room has a private bathroom, TV and internet. Wake up with a wholesome breakfast and prepare yourself for a great day in this authentic, lovely town and its beautiful surroundings. The host and hostess regularly prepare delicious dinners and organise island tours and oyster tours on request. The whole day free coffee and tea are available for the guests. There is also a well stocked fridge with drinks and snacks which you can take whenever you like. The B&B uses as much organic and local produce as possible.
Pros: Great location. Very friendly owners. Excellent breakfast made from local produce. Lots of things to do. Amazing nature and one of the best beaches in the World.
Cons: One of the rooms was not cleaned when we arrived.
Pros: We enjoyed a wonderful vacation here, the breakfast, the rooms, the garden, the nature, the hot bad tube, all excellent and to conclude Flang and Willemijn are superb hosts!!
Pros: Very special house, with special owners. Great location, beautiful view of the old church.
Set in the typical quaint Terschelling surroundings, Pension de Wadvaarder offers cozy accommodation with flat-screen satellite TV and luxury bedding. The Midsland aan Zee beaches are only 2.5 km away. Each room has modern furnishings and is equipped with a flat-screen TV. Some have a private bathroom. Each morning, Pension de Wadvaarder serves a breakfast buffet prepared with local products. If sunny, the backyard garden terrace is also available for breakfast. For dinner, there a few restaurants within walking distance in the centre of Midsland. The ferry service to and from Harlingen is 6 km away by car. The famous Brandaris Lighthouse is 5 km.
Pros: Really good breakfast and very nice hosts
Cons: No shampoo/shower gel in the bathroom
Pros: The staff was very, very helpful and kind. I didn't expect the housekeeping to clean our personal mess (dirty pans, shoes all over the apartment), and they certainly didn't have to, but they still did. So that was very generous of them. The staff would help us with all of our problems, nothing was too much for them. Use of the big pool was very nice too, although you have to wear shower caps in them, which I personally don't like. The breakfast was very good, plenty of choice. I mostly liked the fresh fruits and fresh orange juice.
Cons: Location for the apartments is a bit odd. We were with 7 people, of which 2 were in a separate hotel room. It was a bit uncomfortable that there was no possibility for those 2 people to access the apartment of the other 5 people easily, other than calling one of the other 5 by phone and asking if they could come downstairs to open the door to the hallway for us. Some intercom service would be helpful. Other than this small problem, perfect stay.
Pros: nice with local food.
Cons: nothing could have been better.
Just 10 minutes’ walk from De Koegelwieck Nature Park, this hotel offers a private cottage and a warmly decorated suite. Its restaurant serves traditional Irish dishes and beers. The charming cottage and suite at Hotel Eethuis De Koegelwieck include a seating area with a TV and a DVD player. Both have a private bathroom with a shower. Guests can relax with an Irish beer in the garden or listen to traditional Irish music in the bar. Terschelling’s beach is a 10-minute drive from the hotel.
Pros: Cosy Irish atmosphere, very friendly staff. Nice rooms
Pros: Book the cottage. It is a cute little house behind the restaurant. Try the food. It is amazing and i mean it. The owners and the staff were super nice
Cons: Everything was perfect
Pros: The room is cozy, clean and very comfortable. The bed is soft. In the morning you can open the window and have the shed of light coming in. Breakfast is amazing with bread, yogurt, cheese, egg, various jams and seasonings and coffee/tea. Very much enjoyed the stay! Thank you and if next time I will definitely choose this place again:)
Pros: Breakfast is sweet, kind people, super cute room.
Cons: Everything was great.
This hotel offers a quiet setting in Midsland-Noord, a 20-minute walk from the sandy beach on the island of Terschelling. Claes Compaen has a maritime theme and features a garden with a peaceful terrace. Each of the rooms has a sliding door leading to a private terrace. They also include cable TV, a refrigerator and tea and coffee making facilities. Claes Compaen has a sauna which can be reserved per room for an extra charge. The dunes and forest on the island is only a 5-minute walk from Claes Compaen. The centre of Midsland is 10 minutes’ walk away. The ferry terminal in West-Terschelling is a 10-minute car journey away.
Pros: Warm personal welcome. Room has very good fascilities. Good breakfast
Cons: No soap in bathroom
Pros: We could take it back to our room and visit the buffet as many times as we wanted. There was a good variety and we were asked if there was anything else we would like.
Pros: Nice, spacious room with comfortable bed, chairs etc. Cosy sunny terrace overlooking the garden. Excellent breakfast!
Pros: Breakfast buffet was great - we really liked being able to have the breakfast in the room. Large room with garden access.
Pros: The atmosphere and the two friendliest hosts on the island!
Cons: There is nothing not to like!
With a stay at WestCord Hotel Schylge in West-Terschelling, you'll be by the sea, within a 10-minute drive of North Sea and Wadden Sea. Featured amenities include multilingual staff, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Location of Westcord on Terschelling is perfect. Nice view over Waddenzee and close to West Terschelling village. Very friendly personel. Restaurant serves perfect food and good wines in a very classy stile. I was very charmed by the dinner we had.
Cons: It was a very hot period with temperatures rising 30 degrees celcius and above. I know that is exceptionel. But if you have a club room in a four star hotel you expect airconditioning. Guess what: no airconditioning. I have communicated this with hotel personel and I understand that with the next upgrade of the hotel airconditioning will be installed.
Pros: Everything is OK it’s just too expensive for the level of prestation
Cons: lots of noise in the morning with workers under the room average breakfast checkout time very early paid sauna
Pros: Great location at harbour front, bus transfer with Ariva is included. Just a few minutes away from the ferry terminal Breakfast is okay, but not great Staff in restaurant was very friendly (Eelkje); food a la carte was great Staff at reception also very friendly - all Room & bathroom clean, modern and quite spacy. Great harbour view (extra) Spa facilities very good
Cons: The breakfast is okay. But for a 4* hotel?
Pros: Conveniently located within reasonable walking distance of the ferry port with views of the Wadden Sea.
Cons: It was reasonably pricey, but there's limited competition on the island.
Pros: I and my partner arrived late on the day of our stay and the hotel staff were very organized and had everything ready so we could check in quickly and make our way to our room. In the morning, after a wonderful breakfast on the terrace, we decided to take a swim in the indoor pool and made use of the beautiful spa area with a sauna and steam. The pool and spa area were kept very clean and we had a wonderful morning before hiring some bikes to explore the island!
Pros: Our room overlooked the harbour and had a balcony so we could sit and enjoy the view of the boats coming and going. The bed was super comfortable and we slept very well throughout our stay. The staff very very helpful and friendly. The swimming pool was a bonus although was quite hot. Overall we had a very restful stay.
Cons: It was a long walk uphill from the main town but as we had a car it didn’t matter.
Pros: Nice hotel with view over the passant harbour. By bike 5 minutes from west-terschelling. Bert friendly Staff, good breakfast, possibility to rent bikes in the hotel.
Cons: Bathroom modern, but between the days not totally clean.
Pros: Very comfy and merits its four stars But really the location doesn’t merit the price
Cons: 15 min walk from town If we could have got a one night booking at the weekend closer to town, we would have grabbed it
Pros: landscape, surroundings, friendliness of staff
Cons: limited offer of drinks (cocktails), bowling bar closes too early
Pros: The excellent breakfast and service
Cons: We were missing facilities in the room to make tea/coffee
Pros: The breakfast was fine, room was ok, nice entry and restaurant
Cons: We found some old cheese in the fridge, there is no possibillity to make a cup of tea or coffee, staff was very strict / correct
Pros: Hospitality and luggage service to harbor.
Pros: Love the location, great views from the sea facing rooms and the restaurant. Easy bike hire too. The rooms are large and comfortable, but the bathrooms need renovation
Cons: The hotel entrance coming from the ferry is not welcoming (through the garage) - also we almost lost our bags when leaving becuase of false information from reception about the bag service for the harbour. The hotel did send them by van, but only after we called in a panic.
Pros: Sea side view and breakfirst was nice, and the swimming pol was good, but we don't have enough time to try swimming due to earlier check out time; it will be better if check-out time is around 12pm, plz
Pros: Valuable guess information was shared directly at arrival at the reception. The overall hotel staff was very friendly; good service at the bar and reception. Very convenient: bike rental at hotel. The room was very nice decorated (nice bright classic modern design)
Cons: There was no mini bar, no rope in the room. A rope would be convenient if you go downstairs to swimmingpool etc. The hair blower was hidden in a closet.
Pros: the view from the hotel , the building
Cons: the service of the waiters, the mistakes they made. You had to wait very long for the food.
Pros: Clean and modern hotel
Cons: The service in the bar, restaurant was extremely slow, so we decided not to eat an evening meal there again.
Cons: the hotel was not clean
With a stay at Hotel de Walvisvaarder in Lies, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of IJsselmeer and West Frisian Islands. Free self parking is available onsite.
Cons: Noise from upstairs rooms
Pros: 1. friendly staff, easy to communicate; 2. location of the hotel in the center of the island; 3. quiet place; 4. excellent design of the room (light) and comfortable furniture, pleasant colors; 5. easy bicycle rent; 6. food-store nearby; 7. individual rest area with chairs and a table; 8. delightful Terschelling!
Cons: We had to leave ((
Pros: Stayed at garden suite, absolutely super.
Pros: - Very quiet location in Lies, in the middle of the meadows but in the very centre of Terschelling allows easy access to both the west (West-Terschelling, West aan Zee and Midsland) and the east (Oosterend and Hoorn). - Bus stop (bus nr. 1) right in front of the hotel connects in ~25 minutes to West-Terschelling where the ferries dock. The hotel rents out bicycles, so everything is a short and pleasant ride away - We love (!!!) the fireplace next to the bar, super cosy and the best place to warm up with a drink after a (cold) day out cycling and discovering the island. -Large room with a small outdoor space with chairs adjoining the beautiful communal garden -Lovely staff, always fun and available for anything -including helping us checking if the bike child seat was attached properly, or showing us around the different room types for a potential next stay. Dank jullie wel en tot volgende keer!
Pros: nice big room, good location to explore Terschlling
Cons: fresh fruit salad for breakfast would have been much appreciated
Pros: We liked the location, the hotel was comfortable and stylish. The breakfast had a good variety of products. Good bicycles for rent. Friendly staff and you can choose your welcome drink :-)
Cons: The check-out was way too early for us-10:00, and the breakfast was till the same time. It is not very convenient, made us feel in a rush, and also lead to a queue of guests for check out. I would suggest to make it 11, to allow sufficient time for guests to have breakfast and pack. I would rather have check in time starting 1 hour later.
Pros: Friendly staff, comfortable rooms. The hotel is sizable but still small enough to make it feel personal
Pros: The hotel was great and the location perfect . We were able to do lots of bike riding and see the local nature. The food served at meals in the Hotel was excellent and the staff very friendly and efficient.
Cons: The mirrors in the room were placed too high which made it hard to use. Hair dryer we not very good.
Pros: Breakfast is pretty good
Cons: Staff is not customer friendly, hotel is in remote location
With a stay at Hotel Oepkes in West-Terschelling, you'll be within a 15-minute walk of IJsselmeer and Museum 't Behouden Huys. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The included breakfast was unique and delicious. The staff were courteous and personable. Location is easily discovered from the ferry.
Cons: The rooms were a little small and slightly outdated.
Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast area and lounge.
Cons: Noisy pub nearby on Friday night with loud music which went on to early hours. 2nd floor room had sloping ceiling as it was in the roof making room feel small.
Pros: Great interiors and air conditioning in the rooms
Cons: The shower didn’t work well, water force was very low. Church bells next to the hotel ringing every 30 mins.
Pros: * We loved the location - within 3 minute walk from the ferry port and bars/restaurants/shops and a 3 minute walk from the bus station at the ferry port * Nice comfortable bed and pillows * Spacious bathroom * Safe in the room * Helpful and friendly staff - they provided soya milk for our breakfast every morning. * Overall it's a clean, well maintained hotel. * As the hotel is part of a chain, it takes mastercard, which was a relief because lots of places on the island won't take visa debit or mastercard card payments due to the merchant fees. * We discovered while there that Hotel Oepkes is older than it looks and has important WWII history, which we are interested in.
Cons: * Bedroom was a little small for us - we loved the big bed but it took up most of the floor space. * Not enough storage space: we would have preferred a chest of drawers instead of 2 seats and a coffee table. We stayed (3 nights) in order to attend a wedding so more storage space would have been helpful. * Bath towels were small! My husband is six foot tall and slimly built, and the towels provided didn't really cover him. * More hooks in the bathroom required for hanging up wet towels
Pros: The hotel is cozy and pleasant. The staff is very friendly and desire to help. The room is sufficient even though not very spacious, and the beds were comfortable enough, though single for each. In the room we stayed there was air conditioning and that was a pleasant surprise. The breakfast is the same every day, and because we are vegan there wasn't enough variety for us. The hotel is very easy to reach from the ferry harbor - a minute or two by foot, and that's very convenient. The surroundings is great, the location is wonderful with lots of shops and restaurants near by.
Cons: The building isn't a new one, and there aren't elevators. We were in the second floor with quite a lot stairs to climb. With heavy suitcases it's not very easy.
Pros: Great location Friendly & helpful staff Good breakfast
Cons: There was no lift A tad bit expensive
Pros: Cosy hotel in excellent location - near the ferry terminal bars restaurants walks etc Bed was very comfortable with good linen!
Cons: Having to ask for a hairdryer ! Should be in the room.
Pros: Ideal location in easy reach of the ferry and for getting around. Nice room with large comfy bed and an excellent breakfast. Bike hire very nearby and good parking available on site. Beautiful island with miles of good cycling paths. Perfect place to relax and unwind.
Hotel Altijd Wad is a small and comfortable hotel in the heart of West Terschelling. The hotel is located at the foot of the lighthouse and offers free Wi-Fi. The hotel rooms are uniquely decorated. You may use the kitchen in the hallway with a fridge, microwave and coffee and tea facilities. At walking distance from Altijd Wad, you will find the harbour, the beach, the sea and dunes, shops, restaurants, cafés and terraces.
Pros: very nice, small scale hotel in the centre of West-Terschelling. very friendly staff, clean rooms, relaxed atmosphere and nice breakfast. all in all a very good experience!
Cons: sound proofing of the building is slightly weak. However this was not an issue given the fact all guests behaved properly and kept noise levels to a minimum
Pros: Lovely location, cosy and quiet.
Cons: We could hear the aircon working in the adjacent room, it made horrible noises and disturbed our sleep.
Pros: Loved the communal spaces and the breakfast. The owner was friendly and the location fantastic!
Cons: Room was small and because it was next to the coffee/tea station i was woken up both mornings. Also for a hotel only to accept Maestro cards...? A shame that my last memory was rushing to an ATM in order to pay cash and incurring international fees.
Pros: The host provided us with a warm welcome, and made us feel at home. The hotel is nicely located, close to shops and restaurants, and the ferry harbour is only 5 minutes away walking. Plently of cycling pathes on the island, and huge empty beaches
Cons: Maybe cereal for breakfast would be nice
Pros: Mieke provides a wonderful breakfast with a marvelous coffee machine! Juice, fresh fruit, boiled egg, great bakery items. She is a very interesting host with world-travel stories to tell. We were very pleased to be able to leave our bikes in the courtyard. Great location right on the square. The stairs are a good test of balance and agility.
This peacefully situated holiday park offers bungalows with free WiFi and a private terrace on the island of Terschelling. Vakantiepark Tjermelan leisure facilities, including bike rental and a sauna, available for an extra charge. Each of the bungalows at Tjermelan includes a seating area with flat-screen TV, a dining table and a kitchen with a microwave, refrigerator and tea/coffee making facilities. They also have a bathroom with a bath or shower. The property offers a breakfast restaurant. A large childrens playground with a giant chess set is also on site. During the summer months a range of children’s entertainments are offered. Guests can also make use of the solarium. The edge of the Waddenzee is 3 km from the park. Tjermelan Vakantiepark is a 15-minute drive from West-Terschelling and the ferry terminal. Electric bicycles can be charged on site.
Pros: Some staff was friendly, some really not, so a mixed experience. Breakfast was very nice. They offered earlier check in if we would arrive with earlier boat.
Cons: Some staff was friendly, some really not, so a mixed experience. House was basic but sufficient. Was weird that there were no soap or dishwashing liquid. We had trouble with different pricing in invoice, confusion and discussion on that. All solved at the end.
Cons: Confusion on checking in. No-one showed us what cabin we were in, and we went into the wrong cabin not knowing.
Pros: Staff was great, location as well, they had bikes to rent and also dog friendly. The bungalow we rented was amazing, fully prepared kitchen, heating, comfortable beds and relaxing area. Bus stop in front of the entrance to the park, and great to walk around also across the street through the dunes.
Tjermelân offers non-smoking apartments and studios in tranquil surroundings near the Boschplaat nature reserve on the island of Terschelling. It benefits from spacious grounds with a sauna, solarium and free Wi-Fi. All of the apartments at Terschelling Hotel Tjermelân include a seating area with flat screen TV. Some of the apartments feature a sauna. A buffet breakfast is served daily in the breakfast restaurant. Terschelling-West is a 20-minute drive from Tjermelân Hotel. The complex is 70 metres from the Tjermelan Bus Stop and the beach is a 5-minute drive away. Some of the many activities available nearby include horse riding and hiking. Guests can make use of the bicycle hire, car rental and packed lunch facilities when exploring the local area.
Pros: Breakfast area is very spacious and nicely decorated. Lots of choices for nice food from the buffet. We liked the fact that local and organic food/drinks were being used. Nice shower. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Cons: Walks between studios not very soundproof. We could literally hear the tv and the people talk. By putting on music ourselves we bypassed that. Beds are not made for big and tall people. Luckily we are not tall.
Pros: Very nice staff, friendly, good breakfast. Very quiet room
Cons: There was mold in the shower!! Looking at the previous reviews, this has been stated several times - shocking they haven't fixed it! Got 2 single beds rather than a double bed. Room had 2 floors, the stair case is super narrow and steep, seems dangerous. It also had super low ceilings, we bumped our heads multiple times...
Pros: fine location; very good breakfast; comfortable room....
Pros: Great location. Well informed staff. Excellent breakfast.
Pros: Mattress was not good. Too soft and dipped in the middle.
Pros: We loved the studio that we stayed in, especially at night. If you lay underneath the windows in the roof you can see the beautiful starry night sky.
Pros: Like : - Studio was clean and offer lot of comfort with all its utilities - Staff was really nice - Localisation was great - Great breakfast with lot of choices : boiled eggs, cherry tomatoes, cheeses, jams, breads, fruits, juices, ham etc
Cons: Studio was really bright in the morning. Couldn't really sleep.
Pros: The breakfast was good. The location is great, quiet and away from the busiest and noisy city areas, walking distance to the cost, short distance to some farmlands. Not much light pollution and can enjoy seeing beautiful stars during the night. A few nice restaurants and a great baker about 1.5 km (5mins - bike, 15mins - walking). The room is well equipped, the bed is nice and comfort.
Cons: There is no shower curtain, so the water were splashed everywhere. The shower head was over-sized, the water pressure were very weak. The light of the entrance of our building block was too bright, and too many of them too. Therefore created too much light pollution.
Pros: Very clean and in good location
Pros: Well organized overall. We have arrived late in the evening and it was easy to find our room, key and park the car.
Cons: Rooms in the main building have very thin walls. You hear everything from the rooms to your left and right, at all ours of the day. We stayed for 4 nights and had no room cleaning at all. In the morning, if you want to relax in the room after breakfast, it’s impossible because of the noise done by the cleaners, slamming doors and objects. One is on vacation after all, should be able to spend some quiet time in the room and not have to wake up at 7:30AM or 8AM. Also check out at 10AM is a bit ridiculous !
Pros: How well furnished and equipped the apartment was
Cons: It would have been nice if the bar had stayed open beyond 6pm
Pros: Our own sauna in the appartment
Cons: No, it was good.
Pros: The location is perfect, hotel staff is wery friendly and kind. We also like the possibility of renting bikes.
Pros: Great location, nice and effective room, good value for money (may try one of the attractive looking bungalows next time...)
Cons: The limited opening hours of the office (and closure of restaurant), but we can understand that this may be necessary during the off-season. Breakfast hours were (for us) much too late (wego to Terschelling to be out and about). Also, we were somewhat disappointed about the single beds, rather than having a double.........
With a stay at Hotel Buren in West-Terschelling, you'll be within a 15-minute walk of IJsselmeer and Museum 't Behouden Huys. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby and luggage storage.
Cons: the bathroom was really small and showering was not very convenient (when someone showers the bathroom cannot be used)
Pros: Alles was top
Pros: Excellent staff, really friendly. Great location to explore the island, close to the harbor (walking distance).
Cons: Bathroom was not the best, quite old fashioned. Shower was not nice. Reception was mostly not occupied (available per mobile phone though)
Pros: Nice relaxed atmosphere. Friendly and easy going staff. We were still allowed access to the hotel after checking out so that we could leave our luggage in a storage room until we had to catch our boat again.
Cons: Nothing. It was a pleasant hotel in the middle of town. Whilst you might not see the sea from here, you can see the lighthouse which is quite nice.
Pros: Great location, comfortable room, good breakfast, flexible check in/out. Great for couples
Cons: Thin walls. Reception not always manned
Pros: Practically everything
Cons: We couldnot reach the owner by phone or mobile to change our breakfasttimei
Pros: Excellent location close to the ferry and just a few steps away from the main shops. Wonderful breakfasts, very friendly and helpful staff, Very clean and comfortable accommodation and it was brilliant to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
Pros: Very close to the ferry port and to the shipping area, supermarket and restaurants. The room and bathroom we're smallish but comfortable ... quite the norm for Netherlands. I would stay again.
Cons: Just a word of caution: the stairs are steep & narrow and there's no lift.
Pros: The staff was very friendly and very flexible. The hotel is 2min walk from the city center and a 4min walk from the harbor. The rooms are clean and they are cleaned everyday. The staff even prepared a lunch package for me on my check-out day because I was leaving with the first ferry and would not make it to the breakfast.
Pros: Breakfast was lovely with home made breads and local cranberry jam. Service was exceptionally prompt at breakfast and when we got back to our room after having morning meal, the room was already made up.
With a stay at Westcord Aparthotel Boschrijck in West-Terschelling, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of North Sea and Wadden Sea. Featured amenities include multilingual staff, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. Planning an event in West-Terschelling? This hotel features 0 square feet (0 square meters) of event facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Not cheap, but a really nice place to stay. Nice and quiet, with handy bike rental and free transport from and to the ferry.
Cons: We had two minor issues; first, the bathrooms were all new, but even after filling the entire bathtub one and a half times the water was still yellow and silty. Seems to me it might be more than just flushing out the pipes. Not a huge deal, but the hotel staff didn't seem at all concerned about it. Second, and a bit more relevant. They ask guests to separate trash - regular garbage, glass and paper. However, there's only one trash bag and the trash containers were a several hundred meter walk from my room. Walking through the lobby with a garbage bag, desperately trying not to drop the wine bottles you're carrying in the other hand or the stack of paper you're squeezing under your arm...well, luckily I don't embarrass easily, but it seems like they're incenting guests *not* to recycle.
Pros: The hotel is great, very spacious room equipped with nice facilities. The Staff was very friendly and helpful 10/10 The restaurant is also great The hotel connects to a swimming pool, which is good for both adults and children All in all, very nice experience, definitely recommonded
Cons: Cleaning fee, even though the stay was only of one day. Also the cleaning fee was not mentioned in the booking.com registration process...
Pros: Alles was perfect
Pros: The appartment was very big, clean and very nice. The Hotel was approx 15 - 20 minutes walking distance from where the ferry arrived. So, close enough to walk, but also far enough from the music and noise of the town and harbour of West-Terschelling. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The island itself was beautiful and ideal for cycling !
Cons: There was nothing to dislike really.
Pros: i love the swimming pool. the bbq dinner was also nice you can also rent the bike at the reception, and returned it at city center.
Pros: good location, near city centre, next to swimming pool.
Pros: We had no breakfast. Location very good also the appartment
Pros: The beds are very comfy, the pool for the kids near by and free. Easy to rent a bike from there and very close to West Terschelling or other villages.
With a stay at Hotel Bornholm in West-Terschelling, you'll be near the beach, within a 10-minute drive of North Sea and Wadden Sea. Featured amenities include luggage storage and a safe deposit box at the front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Everything was nice, especially the deco of the restaurant! The room was better than the pictures on website. Breakfast was better than I expected. I’ve booked Love package and I appreciate the effort staffs made to decorate my room.
Cons: The luggage room should be locked by the employees for safety matter
Pros: The hotel is cozy and very clean, perfect for a retreat. Friendly and helpful staff, especially Bas, who went above and beyond to make our stay great.
Cons: The SPA is only open from 4 PM
Pros: Excellent food with huge buffet, terrific restaurant with ocean view. Large spacious areas; plenty of bikes available.
Cons: A bit far to walk to town for a short stay. Better to take a taxi; buses are infrequent it seems.
Pros: Breakfast was excellent!
Pros: very comfortable and good location
Pros: Nice breakfast. The location is good even if far from the village and the harbor. 2 nights were perfect to discover the island.
Cons: We had a superior bedroom but it did not have anything special, not even water. It is good to have a fridge and a microwave but without any plates or cutlery, it is useless. It was not very clean with stains on the carpet. We were early September and the prices were still high for what it is.
Pros: Fair place for a three star hotel.
De Cyprian is a traditional farm set in scenic countryside, in the small village of Baaiduinen on the island of Terschelling. It features a large garden with football field and offers bed-and-breakfast accommodation. De Cyprian benefits from a cosy breakfast room. On sunny days, the terrace offers a nice place to enjoy the weather. It overlooks the children’s playground and the garden. Every morning, guests can enjoy an extensive breakfast with fresh breads and regional products. Various restaurants are located in Midsland, 1 km away. Terschelling’s beaches are easy to reach by bicycle and car. The ferry to Harlingen is 5 km away from De Cyprian.
Pros: The B&B is divided into 2 houses. The biggest accommodates big groups and the small house has 3 small rooms. We were in a room in the small house and I found the room a bit small but we were there only for sleeping so it is ok. The garden is big so it is great for families. There was no working heating when we first arrived but the landlord fixed it for us. It was pretty cold in the evening. I found the room a bit expensive due to its size but everything is expensive in Terschelling and it was Easter weekend. The breakfast was ok: a lot of food.. too much for us. I would have liked more local products though. In this village there are no options to eat out so we had to go to Midsland, which is not too far, only 2 km away (an easy bike ride).
Cons: More local products for breakfast would be nice but that's all.
Pros: Very personal. Attention for detail. Good breakfast.
Pros: Very helpful and friendly staff in a comfortable B&B close to Midland. Delicious breakfast pastries!! We stayed at the house annexed to main building with our two children, and they were really happy with the campground!!
Pros: Amazing breakfast and helpful staff
Pros: Good breakfast spread but no extras beyond what was offered off the buffet. Friendly management Easy to find on the main road Short distance (5 minutes by bicycle) from Midsland (a good spot for restaurants and shops and a central departure point for all sights on the island) Might use the same B&B again but only if I travel by myself
Cons: Shared showers and toilets (seems to be the norm rather than the exception on Terschelling). No mosquito screens over windows (needed in summer!). Most guests had bicycles that could be securely locked. However, this was not shielded from the elements A bit pricey for what you get but then again this is a seasonal business My room was at the top of the staircase and across from the shower, so quite a noisy location
Pros: Nice breakfast, good location to explore the island from
Pros: Nice and cozzy verry clean and good price
Cons: Nice place easy going. Verry helpfull personal
Pros: IT was simple bit Nice and tidy.
Cons: It's pricy of you want to Stay with 2
Pros: The service was especially friendly and helpful. There was plenty of coffee and food at breakfast.
Cons: Until I had rented a bicycle the distance to the little town of Midsland made it a bit hard to get there more than once a day. I took the bus from the ferry boat and it was not immediately evident where it was, but it was not actually hard to find.
With a stay at Hotel NAP BV in West-Terschelling, you'll be within a 15-minute walk of IJsselmeer and Brandaris Lighthouse. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
Pros: Nice employee and right behind the lighthouse.
Cons: The room was a little warm, but we could open de window and door.
Pros: Staff very friendly and helpful.
Cons: The refreshments in the room were sparse two teabags and two sachets of coffee. There was an empty fridge which was a bit odd.
Pros: Breakfast very good.Location excellent.
Cons: Unable to get into room before 6.30.pm due to chancing lock system,on wednesday 12/06.
Pros: The location is perfect, right next to the lighthouse, a few minutes walking from the ferry and the beach. A lot of restaurants nearby. The place was clean and the breakfast was nice.
Cons: Beds are too soft and they are sliding apart. The "view" of our room was over the wall of the building next to the hotel.
Pros: Lovely staff!
Pros: Great location, good big bed and proper pillows, quiet room when windows closed (as you are in the main street of course).
Cons: All ok, but wall lights switches did not work but every light had to be operated at the light (or we did something wrong)
Pros: Location, close to the Brandaris, very close to the port and in the eart of the centre of West-Terschelling.
Located in Hoorn, H2O Hostel Terschelling is in a rural location, within a 5-minute drive of De Boschplaat and Wadden Sea. Featured amenities include multilingual staff and a library. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Free coffee and tea all the day, peaceful and quite place, the terrace
Cons: The white curtains let enter too much light early in the morning
Pros: Quiet athmosphere, friendly staff! Very nice stay.
Pros: Really well-located and extremely comfortable hostel. Perfect for short to long-term stay on Terschelling. The rooms was very comfortable and clean and the facilities really good. The kitchen was well-equipped and meant we could cook for ourselves.
Cons: The self-service check-in wasn't really than well-explained prior to us arriving - apparently you just grab you keys and go from there. Also, the fact that there is a blackboard with guest names and room numbers in plain view is not in line with privacy regulations and could potentially cause issues.
Pros: We enjoyed the access to the bbq on the very cozy terrace.
Cons: Would have been nice to have blackout curtains instead of white curtains.
Pros: Simple hostel in a lovely, secluded location. Very helpful owner, basic but clean rooms with private bathroom and terrace. Large kitchen with all amenities provided. Great stay, recommended!
Cons: Borging really.
Pros: The decoration of the Hotel is simple but really nice and original. The atmosphere created makes you relax easily. The rooms are also quiet and perfect to rest. There are several bars and restaurants really closed to the hotel but at the same time the nature is everywhere. This is possible to rent a bike directly from the hotel.
Cons: The breakfast is good but maybe there is not enough choice.
With a stay at Hotel De Horper Wielen in Kaard, you'll be a 3-minute drive from IJsselmeer and 7 minutes from North Sea. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The New Owners took over the Hotel in January and they are doing a fantastic job . Check in & Check out was very easy & they are very professional in everything that they do . The room I had was a twin , the furnishing was basic but spotlessly clean & the bed was super comfortable . I had a great nights sleep . I had an ensuite & the water was always hot . A lovely view across the fields . There was central heating in the rooms & great TV channels lots in English too . The bedding was really good quality . You can see the family are just starting to put their own stamp on the property . New dining room chairs where delivered the morning I arrived . The setting is stunning with beautifully maintained gardens . Lots of outdoor space . Just a short walk to Midsland with its shops & supermarket ,restaurants and bars & a short bus hop to the main town centre and ferry terminal . You can hire a bike an explore the island which is simply stunning . I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel and an added bonus was being able to have a beer or wine and sit around the log fire for an end of evening chat . The breakfast was fantastic , all local produce , freshly boiled eggs , mixture of different breads , cheese’s , meats , lots of fresh fruit & cake . Lots of various spreads to with freshly squeezed orange juice & coffee . Was a fantastic spread . The hotel was spotlessly clean . The staff where very friendly . I for one would love to go back and stay at this hotel but I have a feeling once people catch on to how good this place is that it’s going to be packed out so book in advance .
Cons: There was nothing I did not like about this Hotel . I loved it .
Pros: The environment
Cons: The room was poor, the owner was not friendly
Pros: Great staff, excellent breakfast. Clean basic rooms. Excellent value.
Cons: Missed a mini fridge in the room. It was a very hot week at Terschelling and missed AC but this was not expected.
Pros: Breakfast was great Clean room and bathroom
With a stay at Strandhotel Terschelling in Formerum, you'll be on the beach, within a 10-minute drive of IJsselmeer and Wadden Sea. Featured amenities include luggage storage and a library. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The location of the hotel is perfect - very peaceful, in the dunes next to the beach. The hotel in itself is also very nice, old, but with some style.
Cons: It was very noisy in the corridor next to our room. We could hear doors clapping, people talking in their rooms, the sink of the room next door would make noise all the way into our room (probably because the pipes are connected), etc. So the noise affected our "relax-ness" experience.
Pros: The Strandhotel is located on a nice and quiet side of the island, in the dunes - with direct access to the beach. It is basic, but lovely atmosphere - friendly staff. Perfect place to relax.
Pros: Location, location! Had room with view at dunes, beach and the sea. Super nice staff, very responsive. Great breakfast (buffet-style), and the restaurant has excellent dinner and dessert options!
Cons: Shared bathrooms (personal preference, tried it again but still not my favorite), bad wifi connection in hotel room, and common space/sitting area with good wifi connection was closed outside opening hours of restaurant. Breakfast only starts at 8:30am, no coffee/tea in hotel room and no coffee shop nearby as it's an awesome but more remote location. So if you're an early riser, or used to US/big chain hotels, this is different ;) Upside: we did a beautiful morning hike through dunes and forest before breakfast.
Pros: A cosy and friendly place, not for the masses. The hotel feels like a place from the old days, bathroom & shower in the hall, basic, small rooms. Thw vibe is excellent though and it is literraly ON the beach. As the hotel was pretty full- many guests with small children- it probaby is more relaxed during off-season
Pros: I loved the location of the hotel (on the beach!). The bed was small but comfortable, the staff nice and the breakfast was really lovely but a bit early for those of us who want to sleep in (available till 10:00). I also liked that you could rent a bike on the spot, which where fairly priced (6,50) The downstairs area was nice and comfy.
Cons: The rooms are old, veryvery small (when opening the door I would immediatly bump into the bed), they're noisy and don't have their own bathroom. About the bathrooms is stated on booking.com so we knew this. For the price you pay however (because of high season we payed 100 a night) you would definitely expect better rooms. If the rooms in general would be bigger, more modern and well insulated for noise, I would take the bathroom not being on the room for granted. Unfortunatly, this is not the case.
Pros: i love your place, location & aesthetics a lot, it's an amazing place to retreat, bravo, i recommand it to all my friends, and will defenetly come back. Thanks!

Pros: Friendly staff. Nice and clean apartment with all required amenities
