our hostess was delightfully thoughtfull and thoruogh.
The homey feel and the breakfast.
Location was close to the springs and St. John's River. The Inn was clean and inviting. The Innkeeper's husband didn't seem to have the Innkeeper personality, although it could have been his 'day off'.
The bed and breakfast was far superior to the star level cited of 2 1/2. It was at least a 3 1/2 or above.. The interior decoration was exemplary, the owner knowledgeable of the area and friendly, the rooms pristine and inviting, and the location a plus The arrival time could be 3 p.m. instead of 4 p.m.

This is so much better than staying in a regular hotel room. The feeling of being in the comforts of home. We loved every thing.
The location was great, the property was nice and clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Big name hotels in the area get horrible reviews, so we looked for an independent and we are glad we did. They could use coasters in the guest rooms. Not really a complaint, but they have nice wood furniture and it would be nice to have something to protect it from condensation rings.
I stay her often for work trips and it offers charming rooms with views of the St. johns River and a down-home yet old-world feel. The grounds are nestled conveniently in a setting of 100 year old oaks with sleepy moss hanging from the branches. This is not you everyday corpplease hotel!,, My company also hosted a 2 day meeting here and the staff was most accommodating! From beverages and snacks...they do it all! Any couples that want a romantic getaway...this is your place! I strongly recommend this wonderful place to anyone who appreciates the finer things with charm and a budget!
My extended family and I have stayed at Club Continental and/or dined at the restaurant a number of times over the past years. It overlooks the St. Johns River at one of its widest points, and is one of those special places that are all too hard to find these days. The riverfront of 'Old' Orange Park, where the Club was built long ago, is a beautiful spot, offering privacy, solitude, peace, quiet, and the gentler spectacles of nature. Along with the charm and history, the Club restaurant offers memorable cuisine and service provided by a team of gracious staff. This is a rambling, well preserved historical estate, a memorable destination location I have no doubt that my family and I will continue return again and again. Thanks for preserving all this beauty and charm!
My wife and I have had the wonderful privilege of being guest of the hotel this past summer. Our first stay involved attending the wedding of a friend where the out of town guests stayed at the hotel and the wedding reception was hosted by the hotel I have been to many spectacular weddings in my time this reception ranks in my my top five due mostly in part to the hotel and it's extremely professional and friendly staff. (Gina you are beyond great at your job). We loved our time at the wedding that we returned to Jacksonville a couple months later to visit friends and could not wait to be guest of Club Continental. We would HIGHLY recommend this special get away to any one who will listen, truth be told we have been doing just that since early July and our first of many stays. Be smart and check it, I promise would will have a lovely time. The rooms and suite are beyond charming and unique, the pool is spectacular. More than satisfied customers.
We've stayed at properties all over Jacksonville, including the beach, and not been nearly as satisfied as we were staying here. The location was private, with a spectacular view of the river from our room balcony. We could easily get to and from Jacksonville's sprawling restaurants, stores, and sites, yet come back to this quiet inn, situated in a timeless setting of old oaks, terraced gardens, and groomed lawns. The staff were friendly and welcoming (from the reservationist to the housekeeping staff). Breakfast was delicious, served in the main house dining room of understated elegance. Now that we've found this jewel, we'll be returning to the same River Suite room every visit. It's much better than the cookie-cutter chain hotels with mediocre service and walls thin enough to hear your neighbors.
The beauty and charm of the property is fantastic. Add in the 200 plus year old live-oaks that are protected by the City of Orange Park, the service, food, and overall feeling of welcome, and the magnificent views of the St. Johns River. We've stayed in the Mansion and this time we stayed in the River Suites. We love both and we'll be back again. Thanks for making our stay so delightful. Chap
I enjoyed my overall stay except for the fact that unless you read the brochure or ask ahead of time you wouldn't know that formal dress is required for dinner. When I inquired ,the young woman that was working in the kitchen at the time made us feel like second class citizens ,because at the time we were more casually dressed..... however it was reported (not by me) to the manager and she made it right. Also, the comforter underside had stains on it that I did not put there. I still would recommend the Continental as we were there for a wedding and the other staff made up for any short comings. They are very anxious to please!
