No bathroom in our room had to walk passed other rooms to reach a bathroom and shower facility. And no heating left on just a thin blind covering the huge window letting all the cold air through.
At £25 per person facilities were okay, staff were all polite and helpful & lovely restaurant attached to hotel. Having to keep going outside, from reception to room, reception to restaurant especially as was raining. Bathroom smelt damp and shower was very dirty. Very noisy could here all sounds from other rooms and fanlight above door made room very light to try to get to sleep in. Breakfast was pretty appalling, we went down early (7.15) and the food looked tired & as if been there for ages and they had uht milk (yuk). But the full english was good.
Staff were brillaint and so friendly
Nice polite staff, good breakfast, good for the price
the restaurant & the pictures on the wall wasn't very impressed with the room heating inadequate & woodlouse in bathroom
None The room was not ready at book in time. We did not get the room we had booked. The central heating was not working. The jacuzzi bath did not work. We were kept awake all night by banging doors and other noises from the hotel. The place is a dump.
the manager upgraded our room to a family room so we could have an en-suite free of charge, also the breakfast was freshly cooked if i cant use this space for complaints i won't write anything
Very friendly reception on arrival. New paintwork. Enough storage space in room for one (a couple of drawers), and plenty of hangers, which is a rarity. Poor heating in bedroom and bathroom - the radiators needed bleeding (reported to reception when I checked out, as there wasn't any point when I got in at 11.30, and the duvet was perfectly adequate), so too cold to try the shower. Nowhere to put shampoo or shower gel in shower. No internal access to breakfast room (not fun on a freezing morning). Disappointing breakfast: no fresh fruit, only white sliced bread, only jams (no marmelade, honey, Marmite or peanut butter), rubbery processed cheese, water in urn ok for coffee but not hot enough for tea, teabags left out in open bowl and coffee in open jar, so both losing whatever flavour they started with. I don't object to diy toasting - at least the toast's hot - but a note of how the toaster worked would have been helpful. It all looked as though nobody cared very much, in striking contrast with the redecorated dining room, attractive cutlery, and linen napkins.
the Nepalise restauraunt Poor furnishings
Value for money. Comfortable bed. Noisy as noise travels easily from other rooms. Shower had very low pressure
we had a pleasant stay the staff were friendly and polite and we would definitely stay there again. Powercut.
We stayed as I had arranged a surprise 95th Birthday Party for my Father. We found all members of staff to be most helpful and couldn't do enough to help us. The food was great on the evening of the party and the breakfast was wonderful. We has my son's wedding reception at the Bexleyheath Marriott enjoyed it so much we decided to do my Dad's partry there. Would reccomend it to others. No bad points.
The room was very spacious, comfortable and clean! Everything was very good on the whole
Very clean and spacious room. Good quality food. Hotel was going through refurbishment - it was no problem but meant it was not as its very best. No instructions on arriving by train - I tried to walk to the hotel from the station - a serious mistake!
This is my third stay at this hotel it is well located for trips to London, Bluewater and Bexleyheath shopping centre. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. I like the fridge in the room and ice making machine in the corridor so you can relax with a glass of wine in the room. Check out is fast and efficient and breakfast is good. No complaints
The staff were exremely helpful and cheerful. The breakfast facilities and food were of the highest order. Unable to turn off bathroom tap but contact with the main desk resulted in an immediate response and a satisfactory resolution. Did overhear French guests not being sure of the proceedure at the breakfast bar.
The room was very nice and bright and very clean. we all enjoyed the pool. The electric went off in the evening till 6 in the morning, I was pleased we went out for dinner but on return to the room it was in darkness and had to go straight to bed because you couldnt see anythink.
Staff excellent Restaurant menu, limited choice of "1970,s" food. Disappointing for a supposed 4star hotel
Location & comfort
Room & service No drinking water, fruit etc., in a premier room
the room was clean, there was no hassle at reception everythig was in place. the room smelled a bit musty it needed airing especially as they knew guests were coming in.
Easy access to the tube Car park, could be cleaner, third floor room and no lift, no jaccuzzi
The hotel was situated close to the venue we required. The hotel room was tired, dull and not all together clean. The room was booked as a double but we recieved a room with two single beds pushed together with 2 single duvets instead of a double.
Het is een eenvoudig hotel. Onze kamers waren schoon, bedden waren goed. Prijs was in goede verhouding met kamers
The staff was friendly; I had a parking space; the immediate access to the tube (Central Line) and main roads for a quick get-away; the use of the WLAN; the English Breakfast; the room was clean; the bed was comfortable; the easy access from London-Stansted airport. Overall, I had a really nice stay and would come back anytime. That the bed rolled away when leaning against the wall to watch TV (just a minor thing that can easily be fixed by a stopper).
Great value and breakfast included in the rate.No aircon but windows opened OK. No parking available in hotel grounds - forced to park in public car park 500 metres away. Because windows opened for air the traffic noise was quite audible as room face the main road!
The location is good, very near to the tube station. Rooms are satisfactory according to the price. The staff on the reception was too rude and asked for full payment at arrival, although this was never mentioned earlier. We stayed there on the weekend and the music of the local pub was too annoying and we were not able to sleep
Very conveniently situated, close to tube trains, buses, shops and restaurants. Greatest boon for me was having a car park. Stayed on a very warm Saturday night, and was unable to keep the windows open because of the noise from the cocktail bar and night club.
it was good for the money. i didn't like the tiny bed
Friendly, very clean & comfortable and being able to park was a bonus, extremely good value for money. Breakfast was greasy & cold, and our table was not cleaned from the previous people, we went down for breakfast at 9.30am, there were no other clean tables available.
Walking distance to London subway (10-15 mionutes), next door to gas and Tesco supermarket, plenty of free gated parking, best price around for a London area hotel. No air conditioning, and city noise is loud when window is open. Rooms are very small, no chairs.
Within walking distance to the venue where our function was. We were told that the room was one of their luxury rooms, not sure where that idea came frrom. Carpets up the stairs and in the room were very dirty, room size ok, old sash window that was permanately open, mind you it was so very hot and stuffy in the room all night that we would not have wanted in closed. Room passable certainly not luxury!
The decor; comfortable bed A smell of smoke permeating from the bar beneath the room.
A very good location in the park area. the food was excellent and the staff where very helpful. No would use this hotel again.
I enjoyed the spacious room and large bathroom. It was very romantic and warm.
Room was very nice good size & very friendly staff I think it was a bit over priced £90.00 seems a bit expencive for a pub. Breakfast the fresh cooked was good but continental a tad tight hardlt anything.
Most importantly the duty manager was an absolute star! She made really all effort to make us welcome and was very efficient indeed! A service with a smile and personal touch that you can not find very often anymore. The room was excellent apart from our little problem in the night everything was brilliant. Plumbing! The radiator in the bathroom was banging all night which limited our sleep to a couple of hours max and unfortunately marked an otherwise superb stay down.
The room was a very good size and so were the on suite facilities.friendliness of all staff was good The bedroom carpet needed to be cleaned or changed
Friendly helpfull staff. Good food. Parking could be a problem.
Property in very good condition & clean Book a double room online, on arrival find that there was only a twin available
Breakfast - Room was of a reasonable size Reception - appeared 'phased' by situation including dog which property's web-site said were welcomed at no extra charge and this was found not to be the case! Room, although reasonably contemporary was beginning to suffer from the usual British disease of lack of maintenance and care!
The peace and quite & spacious room, location, the cheaper version of paying for breakfast on arrival :-) Was on business, arrived after 10.30pm (5hrs travelling) got room service, wrong wine sent back got changed, mix up over credit card everything seemed to be paid for seperately? ( why can't it just be charged to the room?)
Excellant stay None
It was clean and comfortable. The bed was a bit too spingy for me as I have a bad back.
Convenient to my planned activities. Good reception staff who efficiently cleared the necessary paper work. 1. The corridors smelling of cigarette smoke. 2. Our room smelling of cigarette smoke and no air freshner in the room despite asking for some. 3. Our friends had to request a change of room as theirs was designated a "smoking" room. This meant our party were not on the same floor. On making our booking we had not been offered non smoking rooms. We had assumed all the hotel would adhere to the non smoking rule throughout. 4. Limited evening meal menu - all options were cancelled in favour of an Italian evening despite having been offered a varied menu on our arrival.
There was good parking facilities and it was easy to check in and out. Staff were helpful without being obtrusive. It was an excellent location.
Easy to get to, and lovely gardens to rear- however Hotel does not make the most of this amenity, it is difficult to work out how to get out there and when you do you have to climb past tables and chairs. Hence on a beautiful sunny day most people were sitting indoors in the rather dark lounge area while I had the lovely sunny gardens all to myself!
It was quiet and clean, i only used my room and not the rest of the hotel. I was allocated a twin room, even though i booked a month in advance, and had to sleep seperately from my wife.I would have liked the opportunity of booking a double from the outset. if i had known it was going to be a twin i wouldn't have stayed here.
I would like to see decaf coffee in the rooms. Also when going for breakfast, nobody told us the routine or even offered coffee/tea, I had to ask after having fruit, halfway through cooked breakfast, even waiting for the toast machine to toast 4 slices of bread!
Price & professional staff
Comfy bed Cost not good value
Good positionfor my work Food and bar price`s extosionate and so we don`t eat or drink in the hotel.
Quiet pleasant area close to rail and bus transport, and shops. Very nice decor and clean. En suite shower cubicle/bathroom, very nicely tiled & clean. Comfortable bed. Pleasant & helpful management from the owner and his wife. Shower taps unit needs attention, also the en suite door which doesn't close properly. Pillows rather flat, could do with thicker foam top pillows.
Covenient; easy to book; assured standard of accommodation Rather complicated to find the hotel when trying to access from the anti clockwise m25 service area at Clacket's Lane. You could give more detail about this on the website and/or when booking is made.
The reception made me feel welcome. The autoclosure of the bedroom door was rather strong and if not caught in time made a loud bang. Access to the eatery was good and the food reasonable
Nice, clean room. Clean throughout building. Helpful staff. 24 hour manned desk is very reassuring to have.
Plenty of hot water, warm bathroom. Room rubbish bin full from previous occupants, decor tired.
Helpfulness of receptionist as was checking in early
Open late at night when we arrived. Quiet. Clean room and bedding/towels. Overnight car parking available via no. Plate recognition - however, carpark sign doesn't indicate this service, just '2 hours parking' which was misleading, and I had to ask where I was supposed to park overnight. Being able to cancel up to 1.pm on the day without charge was a great bonus, as weather conditions may have prevented us from travelling. As we wanted a drink before turning in and when getting up, there were insufficient coffee sachets. Fortunately I had brought some. Shower head fixed, so not suitable for us. Entrance to hotel and car park not cleared of snow -turned to ice, and walkers having to be very careful. Others' cars getting stuck, having to be pushed. Fortunately, others helped and someone had a shovel . shower/loo seemed to have no fan to switch on /off.
Very close to Westerham which is a lovely village and where we had to be for the wedding reception. Really helpful and friendly reception staff. Room slightly clinical, not quite like the photo on the advert! Food in the services very expensive.
Pleasant good-sized clean room, no real surprises either way. Friendly and efficient staff The location, on the south side of M25 is not easily acessible, necessitating a long drive to reach the hotel or to continue your journey. The advertised Wi-fi was not available in our room. This had recently been installed, and when mentioned to the staff when we left they were very apologetic and said they would have changed our room if we had said previously.
efficient freindliness, prompt service and advice, veru convenient to M25 motorw2ay and adjoining services, etc, etc, etyc!
With the price you get this hotel room for, everything it offers is a steal deal. The hotel is located in a calm area but not far from the train station or the center of Ilford. It is very clean and the room service is done everyday. Excellent Wifi and that is free!! I will definetly stay here again if I come to Ilford and ofcourse if the room rate remains within the current range. [Note :The hotel may accomodate the guests in different buildings around the main building and you need to go to the main building for the reception or for breakfast which is like taking 20-30 steps from your room!! No big deal though!!] Nothing
the tranquility and proximity to high street and above to reaching the excel centre in time. saturday and sunday breakfast is servered earlier and the dinning room doors are locked very early in my opinion. I dont think it is necessary to lock the entrance of the dinning room. On wednesday when i was checking out, i went to deposit my case at the dinnig room according to instructions i got from the front desk but to my greatest astonishment i found a male member of staff smoking in the dinning room by the breakfast counter. I think it against policy.
Breakfast Far from undeground, too cold in the room, absence of tableware
Smoking allowed in room No bathroom. The toilet was in a closet, and the bathtub in the bedroom. The breakfast was very poor. You could feel the springs through the bed.
Value for money it is not luxurious but it is clean friendly with excellent breakfast. Water pressure seems vaiable over 2 stays
Too many to mention!! Review has already been left on trip advisor that touches on some of the low points!
helpful reception staff
The rooms were comfortable and clean and we had a very enjoyable stay. The hotel could be a little bit tricky to get back to using public transport. It was easy to get into the centre but not as easy to get back.
Nice friendly staff with spacious room. Excellent Halal Breakfast and free wifi+parking was a bonus.Close to Ilford Town centre and shops. Rooms could do woth some renovation.
Our room was quite dark with no main light. A bulb had also gone in the ensuite which resulted in a dark bathroom. The decor could do with a freshen up as walls skirtings and window frames all showed signs of tiredness.
Attractive rooms, nice friendly staff, good food and beautiful surrounding countryside. The bed mattress was a little uncomfortable
location and parking I have now stayed in four English Inns and they vary in service.I had to take my luggage up two flights of stairs no assistance was offered. The remote did not work.No heating in the morning so it was very cold. This hotel is o.k. if you get a cheap deal but not full price.
Well located the village was very interesting, lots of interesting if very expensive shops.Very good dinner in hotel
The friendly staff
Good central location in the town. Very good on-site parking. We felt very safe. Good bit of general wear and tear; peeling wallpaper, broken and detached bathroom tiles, rotting window sills. Price may have been fair for the location but certainly more than I would expect to pay for the general condition of the place.
One of the best breakfasts that I have had at a hotel or B&B Room decoration was a little 'tired'
Young staff at breakfast service were delightful The Hotel was a disgrace and I was ashamed for England and I have sent a letter of complaint to your customer service - Old English Inns Head Office @Bury St Edmunds. This hotel is idealy situated in a beautiful Village in the Garden of Kent and would posibly have many visitors from Chartwell and Hever Castle and it was sad - paintwork shabby, ceiling paper falling down, carpets and curtains were grubby, furniture chipped and dusty etc etc. Also no security at all after 11pm - you have to go round the back door entrance, dimly lit and let yourself in, inside badly lit and no directions to main reception area or staircase. I found this so sad and would never stay there again - after living in Kent for over 20 years - I would never recommend it either to anbody and also I found the Saturday morning reception area rather off putting, as a dog was also there to greet me, office area was very scruffy and untidy - I could go on but have not enough time.
The staff were nice and friendly & service for breakfast good. There was no one on reception and at one point had problem getting one of our group into room, but luckily one other persons key fit, so could have done with someone on reception to save headache.
Friendly atmosphere Bar shuts at 11pm on Sat! Also no high chairs for children
the staff were very good, helpful and caring. no air conditioning, but a fan was supplied when asked for.
Extremely polite attentive and friendly staff.
The staff were very polite and courteous Yes I am 64 and there was no lift and i had a very full case and a smaller one and no lift, blessedly enough although the receptionist was a petite girl she did help me up the stairs 3 sets of them.My room was near a very busy road and both sets of sliding windows would not get even close to closing to shut out the noise which was all through the night. So thank goodness I was only booked for 1 night.Besides those 2 negatives the rest was very good.
Tube Station adjacent to hotel Not all staff gave the same level of customer service
It was chosen for convenience, near to our son's student digs, plus right next to a tube station. Premier Inns usually do "what they say on the tin". The rooms are far too hot. No air con and if the windows are opened the traffic noise is very loud.
Polite , easy parking & convenient
Excellent service and staff. Very attentive and friendly staff whom could not be faulted. Clean, comfortable rooms and suitable for a family of four and was excellent for the tube which was directly opposite the hotel which was a real bonus but it did take one change and about 30 mins to get to any tourist site in London which is just about acceptable I believe. Good value for money Room could be heated but cooling meant leaving a window open but not too noisy. The Inn was a bit out of London if that is where you want to visit but provided you can put up with a tube journey of 30 mins was not really an issue.
Hotel was only 30 mins from liverpool st station. It was good after spending all day in central london to get away to Redbridge. beefeater next door was ideal. We have stayed in over ten different hiltons and i can assure you the breakfast was on a par with them. Our room was immaculate. Bathroom spotless. We paid £260 for 3 nights for 2 adults and 3 children. Really good value. The girl who served us at breakfast was really polite and courteous as were all staff. A really good hotel for a city visit. Check - in not until 2pm which I suppose is understandable but some hotels do start check - ins from 12 noon.
The friendliness of the staff both at reception and at breakfast. No
The reception staff were very professional and friendly. Bed too small in disabled room. My daughter's room on the other hand was very comfortable with a big bed.
