The staff is absolutely amazing, very professional, the food is great, close to Verbier, and Champex Lac. Stephanie is a great host. The hotel gives a Swiss Historic Hotels feel with its location and appearance outside. The room was in decent size with basic facilities. It was clean and well arranged. The restaurant is on the ground floor and is open to the public which makes the guests mingle with the locals which is very exciting. The hotel is really friendly, basic in terms of rooms, and exceptional in terms of staff and food. The bar/bistro/restaurant is very pleasant. Breakfast was simple & good, dinner was extraordinary. I got a very warm welcome from the staff. They were very helpful and kind. The room was very comfortable and met all my needs. Our room stunk of cigarettes, like in an old bar where people smoke all the time. The breakfast, although of good quality was just not kept at the right quantity. Not that we stayed hungry, but for the price we paid I would expect a bigger effort. The rooms are not very soundproof. Got woken up by our neighbors. The shower kept changing from 30 to +70 degrees so we both got 2nd degree burns. Basic room in annex of building. Room was a bit dingy. All good. Not many choices for restaurants, except the one from the hotel with not such a great food but very pricey. A bit expensive. Clean. Can’t think of anything. Some noise from the train station next door. Breakfast was limited. Seats in the restaurant are all hard wood, no cushioning, so it's uncomfortable to sit there for long. A lot of flies in the restaurant, in the evening on the outside terrace and in the morning inside the restaurant, everywhere. In the morning we came for the breakfast and they didn't have clean plates or glasses and the food was almost finished. We had to ask twice to bring us something to eat and we were not alone. Very disappointed with the check-in system. We arrived at the hotel at 15:00 after a long drive from Strasbourg to be told that check-in was not until 16:00 and we would have to wait. Having waited till 16:00 the same person then checked us in to the rooms that were already available and ready for occupancy. Why did we have to wait till 16:00? We were the only people waiting to check in? On the 2 days we were there the breakfast was not well handled with only a very limited food. Bread, small pot of yogurt and 2 slices of cheese or ham. Not what we would expect from a hotel charging £150 per night. This hotel is more used to providing services for organized groups of travelers and not couples. The shower had mold. Super expensive restaurant. Too many flies in the dining area. Had to sleep with the window open due to the heat, however, it was very noisy all through the night. The view isn't the best overlooking a parking lot. The most annoying thing is when you go to eat there are a million flies that get on the food and in the morning at breakfast I wanted to have a glass of orange juice and a fly was already in the juice. Climbing to the third floor. Good kitchen, high prices though.
