The bed was too hard
Decoration of the room, the ocen view. Mattress was nor soft enough
Great location right in the harbour. High quality rooms and fittings. Nice breakfast on the open terrace. Easy to get to (the ferries are every 20 mins) Tip - don't take your car accross to Maddalena, it costs an extra €20 and its difficult to park if you're staying in this hotel....if you want to tour the islands rent a scooter when you get there. Nothing
Great location, extremely helpful staff, excellent breakfast, modern rooms No private parking, which is a problem given the central location. Rooms could be a big bigger.
hotel design, excellent coffee, very friendly staff, great place for young single trendy - not for family room was quite a small, better variety for breakfast, no car park (off season is no problem to find a spot cross the strat, otherwise...?)
Excellent location overlooking the port, wonderful view from breakfast terrace, the rooms were all beautifully furnished and equipped especially the bathrooms with spacious shower area, convenient free public parking and excellent breakfast with plenty of fresh fruit available, great restaurants in vicinity. We had problems with the air con system, it was very noisy at night compared to other hotels that we have stayed in. Poor recommendation from hotel for restaurant on the first night.
Proximity to the sea and the quality of the rooms no
High quality accomodation in the downtown, superb beaches arround, a lot of excellent restaurants in the city. A little bit noicy on the terrace as it is just on the road and in front of the busy port, but over the time you feel it as a part of life.
Excellent room, completely renovated at high modern standard ( quality furnitures, elegant bathroom, flat screen and free internet connection). Staff friendly and helpfull. Brillant value for money. Really nothing, it has been an excellent holiday
Friendly staff, helped us with information about La Madalena and car rental. It's easy to park your car in the street in front of the hotel - very important when visiting Sardinia, since it's extremely difficult to get around without a car. Breakfast was very good. The room was pretty comfortable, and everything is brand new. Although it's in front of the pier for ferries to/from Palau, the location is not the ideal one if you plan to visit beaches on the main island of Sardinia. Roads from Palau are winding and it takes long to come and go, not to mention the costs of taking the ferry every day. I would recommend it for one or two nights only, just the time to see the beaches on La Madalena islands.
Cute, simple, but kind of local inrerior awful breakfast. very dry, cheap toeast, most things ready packed, low taste, low quality
Very convenient location. With a rental car we were able to drive all beaches and places of the costa smeralda within 30 min. Porto Cervo 10 min. Baia Sardinia + beach only a few minutes walk. Very clean, mordern and nice views. The rooms are modern and clean, but have rather small windows. A little bit New York Style. For a stay of a few days the right place to be. For a few weeks a bit to small.
The staff were extremely helpful and pleasent. The food was very good, the room cleaned very well with fresh sheets and towels every day. The location was perfect. The room was a bit small and basic. There was no private balcony. These were not major problems though.
service was friendly and breakfast buffet was excellent. very good experience when staying there. no swimming pool and walls thin.
The views from the seating area on the top floor. The clean rooms and communication of the staff In the photos you show a pool, which there was not one.
we asked for a late check-out so our 9-month old baby could sleep after lunch and it was no problem at all nice hotel with friendly staff, but with 3* facilities instead of 4*
The staff and facilities at La Vecchia Fonte are excellent and everyone speaks adequate English and is patient with broken Italian. Everyone was pleasant and helpful at all times. The facility is very nice for Palau and meticulously clean - so it is a perfect match for the professional staff. There is a street market in front of the hotel that starts at 9 pm each evening and all day on Fridays. Probably should be disclosed so that guests who are light sleepers can stay in a room not on the street side.
Great location Rather noisy TV at breakfast, shame bar was never open as not high season
that palau was central to a lot of good locations if you had a car the car park in front of it . as we had paid for sea view
the amability of the personal trying to solve any problem. the views of the room
the location to facilities and area. very good no pool, even a small cool off tub would have been usefull
Location, interior, room (we had asked for double room with bath tub), staff, presentation, breakfast, all wonderful. It would be great if the price was not so high, so that we could have stayed longer, but it is understood that hotels are never inexpensive. It certainly deserves 4 star, as nowadays it is difficult to see the quality in 4 star hotels.
Close to the port, the city center, and the ferry.
It was a perfect base to explore the east coast of sardinia.Good restaurants and the peace and quiet in the evening.Shower excellent Overpriced for what it is.The superior rooms are in my opinion not superior and you only get a small port view and without any seating for the balcony as it is impossible to get 2 chairs on it.Overall I was disappointed as I didn't feel I got what I had expected from the pictures and description of the rooms from the hotel.Breakfast was from 7.45 but you must then wait 15 mins while they go and buy the bread for the breakfast. If the reason for this is the shop is not open until this time then they should make the time for breakfast from 8am or later.
The staff was very friendly. Please be aware that this hotel is located in the town Palou. Although this facility is located in the harbor where you see the boats, it has no swimming pool and no sunbathing facilities. We had made a reservation for 5 days but when we saw the location wanted to reduce this. The next day all of the money was taken of the account and no reduction was given. Therefore we needed to pay 2 hotels. The restaurants next to the hotel were not great and very expensive. Absolutely not value for money. I would not go back! We went to residence il mirto at Capo d’ orso. I can recommend this.
The location of the hotel in the center of Palau was excellent, also the rooms were very cosy and the staff very helpful and friendly.
good views too loud music around the pool for no reason, lack of pool bar or coffe facilities/snacks round the day.
gret view from the top of the hill over the islands and the snow covered peaks of Corsica
Location - nice, convenient small town with choice of restaurants. Nice port.Great beach. Perfect place for a relaxing break at an affordable price. View from the restaurant is sublime. Mateo at reception way exceeded all our expectations in terms of customer service. This hotel has so much potential, and although fairly new - I doubt it will ever reach it. Situated a 10 - 15 minutes walk uphill from the town this hotel has the perfect space to be a relaxing haven overlooking the town below - however - the management try to extend the town into their hotel by playing loud music morning and night. NO soundproofing whatsoever in the bedrooms & furniture oversized for the space.
Comfortable, clean, good pool, frinedly staff. We enjoyed our stay Quite a walk from the town centre.
The view from the terrace is breathtaking, simply great and location is quite and relaxing! It is at most 3*** standard: Rooms are very dark and have no balcony but a hallway where people always pass in front of your room. Reception staff was not helpful and very uninformed about everything (e.g. transportation). Breakfast was terrible and only refilled on request, staff seemed not to care and you make you feel uncomfortable. Beach is far, approx. 20min walk down the hill.
Fantastic view from the upstairs balcony. Friendly helpful staff. Free bus to the beach every day. Good quality beds and very clean. Plentiful breakfast in mornings. Overpriced for what is effectively a 3 star hotel. Dated decor in general. Lots of noise in the mornings from firstly the cleaners (8am) and then by some builders using powertools below the hotel at around the same time. Food stuff, although plentiful was ok but not especially good enough quality for a hotel in this price category.
Nice layout of rooms around the small pools. A small "terrace" on our room, though not all rooms had this. A nice view over Palau and the smaller islands. Good location above Palau. Clean, average sized-room. Bed & pillows very hard. The person on reception when I tried to check out did not seem to know what he was doing. Hard to find - even with a sat-nav. (Not a problem in April, but) very limited parking.
Our room had a 'sittinig area' with partial view on the sea. Our bedroom area had a view on a parkinglot and a piece of fallow land. The style was very oldfashioned. The bathroom was sad. The pool was much smaller than it looks like on the pictures. There were plenty of stairs and no elevator. Anybody with any type of walking isue would not be comfortable. There was a bus going and coming from the beach, 2x a day, and the beach was far away. The breakfast was a bit sad.
Friendly staff at desk and restaurant. Very good value for the evening dinner with a good selection of food. Breakfast very good. Pool area was very clean and relaxing. Pillows in the bedrooms were were flat and hard. Only had one per person in the room. Better information on local amenities and activities.
The indoor pool was off limits for children under 14. My children were told that the hotel sports ground did not belong to the hotel and could not be used. It was, however used by hotel staff daily.
Staff very nice. Very calm location. Clean and overall a very pleasant place.
The triple bed room was of acceptable size, the outdoor pool was nice and clean. The receptionist was outstanding friendly. The bathroom was very small, the beds extremely hard, the staff - with exeption of the receptionist - invisible. The parking opportunity was doubtful, the hotel in that area only looked half-finished. I have no idea who got the idea to plant this **** hotel in the middle of nowhere, 10 miles from the nearest town.
Comfortable bed, great view of the pool and surrounds, quiet, shuttle service to beach, food in restaurant ok. Possibly could be over run with kids because of apartment accommodation but the 'entertainment coordinators' did their best to keep them occupied with activities. Remote with no other restaurants in the actual hillside town you need to drive to other villages.
The abiance and the staff who were delightful It is well away from beaches, but we did know that.
Quality of room; availability of sports equipment - table tennis, tennis.
The room was always impecably clean. The location is very convenient to visit different places in Sardegna. However, having a car is mandatory if you want to sleep in this hotel. The front-desk staff is very nice and helpful. When you get to San Pasquale, it's not very easy to find the hotel (just turn left after the main square), but a sign would help. The breakfast was good, but not very varied. The internet (which is not free, though not very expensive) was not always working well.
We discovered Borgo Saraceno last year, and we decided to come back this year. It is the perfect place for a great and relaxing holiday. Excellent staff, great location, we love it!
The reception staff was very helpful. Even German and English TV in the room, was nice on the day that it rained. Near the hotel was a very nice local restauant with great food. The hotel is situated in a mountain village and not near the coast as it is situated on google earth. You need a car to get to the hotel and the beach. As we stayed in the last week of the season in the hotel, breakfast was limited. Even bread was not always available.
Everything ok. Non
Request a room with a view as the rooms higher up have wonderful views. The hotel staff are very helpful and the room was very clean. Overall a very nice stay.
Nice staff, very well situated in Palau (near the town center and the port). Very nice view of the sea form a private terrass. Room very clean. Nothing...
I arrived by ferry and, on my request, they picked me up by car at the port (we had no car). The location is definitely not so great (Palau itself is not very nice among other nearby places in Sardinia), a bit old fashioned. No fresh food for breakfast.
touring the islands! no :)
Very friendly staff, went out of their way to help us.
Service and location were great, breakfast was fresh, sea view was imasing. it is a bit old furnished, but with the great service it does not matter. It is the best hotel you can get for the price.
breakfast was brilliant, lots of choices and fresh croissants coffee at breakfast wasn't very nice, also we had an odd arrangement in the bedroom as the window/door looked out onto a blank wall. It was a triple
Helpful staff. Good accommodation. None.
We were in the room with a veranda on the 4th floor. It was very nice with a view of the town and valley although it was too hazy to see the ocean. The room and bathroom were big and comfortable The stafff were helpfull and kind and spoke English. There is an incredible supermarket 5 minutes away (SuperPan) if you want picnic items or cold beverages for the room. The breakfast was good with the best made-to-order cofffee of our month long stay in Sardinia. I will stay here again when I return. No safe. We did not have a car so walking to Bosa Marina took 35 minutes instead of the advertised 20 minutes. A long way to haul beach gear although we did it. The buses or tourist train run infrequently to the beach.
the view, the beach the rooms and the food, could be a lot better
On arriving at the hotel, we were stunned by how beautiful it is! The rooms were typically sardinian and really beautful, and the pool and private beach couldn't have been better. The food - wasn't much choice at breakfast and although more choice at dinner it was quite bland and tasteless. Would highly recommend eating out in nearby Porto Quato or Porto Cervo.
Location is excellent, nice private beach. Sea facing rooms have fabulous view Front desk staff need to be more friendly and less aloof. Smaller pools needed cleaning to remove algae.
hotel staff friendly and efficient gym facilities very poor
The way the hotel has been designed to take advantage of its great location (e.g patio bar looking out over the sea etc) The running machine in the gym needs to be replaced with a more robust machine.
Nice enough little place, and great setting. Reception staff not overly helpful at times.
Breakfast was a poor for the price no basic items like toast or bacon tomatoes ect
Very nice location, plenty of room and numerous facilities for use in hotel plus a short walk to multiple restaurants and bars
the view and the position too expensive, even if it's Costa Smeralda
The views from the room were excellent over the harbour and the sound between the island and the mainland. The room was spacious with two balconies, and the bathroom was recently refurbished to a good standard. The position of the hotel near the town was also good, within easy walking distance. The air conditioning did not work and this made it rather uncomfortable as the temperatures were in the mid 30s C in the day and not much less at night. However, we were given a small reduction in the cost We felt that the furniture was a bit spartan and there were no chairs in either of the balconies so we could not really make the best use of them. The food in the restaurant was also quite basic, mostly from machines with a very limited range of fresh items. Although being refurbished it did have some way to go before we would be able to recommend it.
Large and light room with a spacious balcony with a splendid view of the ocean. breakfast could be better.
You will need a car to stay here
A good base for exploring the area. If you don't have a car you need to stay nearer the front at Bahja Sardinia although there is a shuttle bus. Value for money would have been better but this could be reflective of the area i.e. it is expensive everywhere. Rooms upstairs would be a much better experience.
Close to Porto Cervo, calm environment The room (220) was in front of the bar where music is played until 11pm and then people stayed talking. Two rooms are literally in the bar, so you should avoid booking last minute or where rooms are running out. If you can, book floor 1 instead of 2.
Being up amongst the large granite rocks and boulders, with interesting natural vegetation that could be viewed from the balcony and the so called 'relax area'. Also stunning views across the coast from the hotel terrace.
We stayed at Li Graniti for 4 days to see the costa Smeralda, location is beautifull. What we liked was the fact that there was a bus connection to and from the beach arranged by the hotel(5 min drive)
Lovely view from room, nice location of hotel (albeit v far away from beaches, village etc.) We stayed here close to the time when the hotels closes for winter (which we did not know beforehand), so v few facilities available and general feeling of closing down was obvious. Food and room mediocre.
View, particular sunset was very nice, but hotel is too far from beach, more than the map and description let me believe. It should be clearer in the description that hotel is frequently used by German travel groups (Neckerman) to manage expectations that this is not a business hotel. Beakfast: each table has the room number pre-allocated, you cannot choose your seat, ie a matter of luck. Breakfast was buffet but not very nice considering what you get in a restaurant in Sardinia, 10min by car away.
the food was excellent, the staff very nice and helpfull, the hotel is very romantic and offers a beautyful panoramic view of the coast
excellent food, also service in ding room ws excellent no
The location was great and had a very comfortable bed.The studio was spacious and had everything we needed. The restaurant, shop and pool had closed.I would advise that you need a car to stay here.
An ideal place for family vacations, the location is truly gorgeous, a lot of other good places within 0.5-2 hour drive from there. Their own restaurant is incredibly good! The beach is a bit distant from the appartments
Very nice location for everyone who likes relaxing on the beach or try watersports in the nearby Porto Pollo. Very friendly people. We arrived at 1PM only to find out that the reception reopens at 5. When we finally got to our room... well, I might complain about the old small TV set or lack of wifi but when we realized there was no air conditioning, with +34 'C outside, we were really disappointed.
Nice appartment, close to the beach; great pool, big and with clean water; trip organized by staff Noice in the evening, animation for guests organized by the hotel
Private beach, good location, large appartments, free wind surfing lessons. Restaurant in 3 botti hotel which is 3 minutes away by car is highly recommended. We were the only non-Italian guests in the hotel, staff does not speak English, which was a typical problem in Costa Smeralda
Excellent hotel. We booked Cala Bitta Hotel for 2 nights and ended up staying 10 nights. The hotel has unique and welcoming atmosphere, very clean with all the facilities you need and even more.Note that one thing you should definitelly know is that the price is inclusive of breakfast and dinner which you can't see unless proceed to book. The food is so tasty, sardinian style, 4 courses with a choice of 3 dishes per course. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Our very best compliments to Pier Carlo and Allesandra in the restaurant and Federica at reception who were always cento percento. The hotel is situated on Cala Bitta beach and has free shuttle to Baja Sardinia and Porto Cervo. We strongly recommend this place. Irina & Julian None
sunny weather, handy for beach, easy parking, booked as only one room left then found only 10 people in 150 room hotel.only time you see staff is when they are eating. bar and dining room unattended. food dreadful. same breakfast put out daily, one day no bread, cutlery, cups for orange and no staff!
Nice rooms, good location, good value for money. Since we were in preseason, there was not much selection of food at meals, we had 3 courses instead of buffet.
We really enjoyed the holiday. PierPaolo and his wife ,do a great job in managing the hotel. Food was excellent, the choice in the menu every night as a real treat to our pallads. The Maitre d ,Ricardo and all his staff are always attentive and their service is of the highest standards. Like I said , we will definitely return and have already started reccommending the hotel to our friends. It is a must for any couple looking for a nice gay friendly and heterosexual atmosphere. No regrets at all. Thank you to all of them for making the best of our hjolidays. Hello Pierpaolo and the rst of the troop. Sincerely yours, Paulo Dominguez and Marc Keller
The surprise welcome drink and nibbles, the beautiful view from the restaurant, the lovely private beach, really good breakfast and evening food. The general architecture - we liked the brickwork and how it blended in with the surrounding countryside. The Rod Stewart CD which was played every morning at breakfast!
The staff were extremely attentive and helpful
the view, resteraunt and cleanliness were excellent situated just out of town, (slightly isolated), apart from the lovely pool there were no facilities!
the island of Sardinia was very beautiful and the centre of Baja Sardinia had much to offer. The only way I can describe the hotel room was a glorified static caravan. The bathroom was outdated, the bed was hard and the couch was like something out of a 70's trailor trash movie, and as for the garden (if you think you can call it that), it was a square of grass that had died about 2 years previously. I am aghast that you believe you can not only call that a Junior Suite but also charge that kind of money! Having just arrived from the Amalifi Coast where my hotel room cost the same, yet was 100% up to date, had a massive terrace, a bathroom the size of the entire room at Grand Relais and a view directly to Capri I was severly disappointed and it was a horrible end to what had previously been the perfect honeymoon.
Nice setting in Baia Sardinia. Price/quality/location ok. Diner ok,but nothing special, with choice from menu. Not a very large choice for breakfast with no variation.
Cleanliness and friendly staff and very reasonable rate. food was very good. Good position. Thought lack of good english speaking staff at times but did not spoil holiday.
Great location, very close to the beach and the "piazzetta" with bars and restaurants. Good variety of food on the menu. Breakfast is over at 9:30 it could be extended to maybe 10:30.
Great location 100m to beach, shops and resturants but very quiet. Easy to find with parking available. We had a room overlooking the beautiful pool area which was very clean
Good location, friendly staff, clean, live music on fridays Breakfast is poor /always the same, cemical juises, no eggs/
The friendly staff is exceptional. Good location and good price. Everything was perfect
The athmosphere, the staff, the location
The hotel's structure and restaurant. It was a little difficult to find by car. The parking was a little far and there was no porter to carry the luggage at night. The parking was not cheap (around 20 EUR per night).
The private boat was the only thing that makes this hotel comparable to other beautiful hotels on the island. The service was distant, cold, anything but welcoming, staff are not client savy. Never ever go to this hotel with kids, they are not welcome by staff or guests. By the way, the north of the island is overrated. They dont have a beach!!! The ones that are close are terrible and full of tar.
The Hotel was very good rated, but I had some doubts from the pictures. However, it is a versy nice hotel, which is build on the hill in a kind of bungalow style, but all bungalow's are connected. So you feel like having a own appartment/house, but are in a complex. nice. very nice view, ok breakfast, big rooms, big balcony, friendly personal. Good! The good beaches are a bit away, but there are some, so don't worry.
staff, restaurant there is no beach in 100 meters as it was in the description.
Relaxing no hassle do as you like hotel with a view to die for Could benefit from a greter variety of food
Excellent location, very friendly and attentive staff. Great food, great pool. The room was large and clean with a private terrace overlooking the sea.
Great breakfast by the pool, really nice and romantic, very pleasant scenario. Few rooms, few people. The room had a gorgeous view. Although the hotel is closer from the village, it is more convenient to have a car if you want to explore the surrondings or go out for dinner.
The food was very good with a variety of different menu's throughout the week and good local wines. Breakfast was also good. The waiting/bar staff were exceptionally helpful and accomodating. The hotel has nice views and is nicely decorated with a huge selection of information on places to visits in the library. You will definately need to hire a car to stay here as it really is quite isolated and roads are too dangerous to walk on. There are far too many steps - to get from the hotel to our room, we had to walk up 40 steps in total. We are young and fit but that would be difficult for anyone outside of this category. Just a silly thing, the maids tend to turn up at different times each day which is an inconvenience when you are trying to relax, they don't stop talking!!!!
Everything was perfect .... I would highly recommend this hotel to stay in!
Great facilities, great staff, close to a wonderful beach
Air conditioning. Electric car (transportation to the beach and inside the facility). Reserved seats at the beach. Telephone and TV out of order. Garden not watered. Small swimming pool.
Friendly staff speaking English, French, Spanish, German and of course Italian. Good quality of food and good variation. The hotel is showing some signs of wear and could use some paint at different places. An international news channel on the TV would be welcome. We had to do with 6 Italian and 6 German channels. Somewhat poor for a 4 star hotel.
Terrific view from the room terrace, exellent restaurant service, gourmet dinner. Exellent beach and complimentary beach facilities (free towels without any stupid deposits, free beach chairs and beach umbrellas are very rare joys not only in this area but in the whole Italy!). It is a unique hotel! Hotel private beach is a little bit too far away for small kids or seniors to reach by foot especially in summertime. Beach shuttle must be available any time by request.
Very pleasant and quiet place. Great cleaning service. Mostly German tourists which is nice sign. Breakfast is ok.
Great location, lovely beach and amazing views
needs restauration, esspecially camping facilities
Spacious room and bathroom. Comfortable bed. We need to go through bookings again to prolonge our stay, even if rooms were available.
Location was excellent The beds were ok but could be better
Very nice rooms and staff. Good location with it's own beach. The breakfast doesn't worth 8 euros a person
Good location. Good room. Optimal price-quality ratio Don't go camping there
The Isuledda is a fantastic resort in a stunning setting eith a choice of two small half moon yellow sand beaches to one side of the resort and a stunning white sand beach to the other. This beach leads on to lots of little private coves where you can find your own special little spot to swim and sunbathe. I would say if you want to get around you need a car but if happy to stay put you can get the bus direct from the airport to here for 8e each way. Be aware the bus does does run after 8pm from the airport mid Sept onwards though. There is a dive centre & bicycle hire available & an amphitheatre for evening entertainment & a couple of restaurants but again I was there from 25 Sept * this had all finished for the season. Fab place!! When I booked through Booking.com there was no mention that the entertainment and activities facilities had finished for the dates I was going (21st Sept for 4 Nights). It would have been good to know this. I couldn't fault the hotel at all and the staff were very helpful, friendly and spoke good English.
everything very welcoming
it has excellent location nearly at the beach and close to other nice beaches at Costa Smeralda poor meals
Location - we had a hire car and ability to drive to fabulous towns and beaches near by. Palau and Caggiano amazing. No swimming pool so if sea water was too cold to swim you had no where else.
