Location in walking distance to Sacre Cœur and Moulin Rouge, near 3 metro stations. Price is a bargain for the area so no need to expect to much. Had 2 beds in the same room wich was convenient, but not recommending the room for 6 as literally no space to turn/walk when people are in. Room is promoted as having private bathroom, but is only a sink and shower. Water was fine for shower, medium warm. One key for the room, but we have not seen it at all. 2 people in the room were a bit sensitive to the noise of beds and the movements, but that is expected when in such a small place with other 5 souls. Temperature was ok with the window a little cracked to have fresh air. View to inner backyard, so not to much noise. Algerian staff very friendly and communicative, offered towels when asked about them, stayed for a talk with us.
Room was promoted as having private bathroom, but actually the toilets are on hallway and there are 2 or 3 among 20 room or so. Definitely needing a few more toilets as in the morning people are queuing on the corridor. Please put some refreshing spray as the smell comes to rooms as well. When we booked was available only 6 bed room wich is not convenient for more than a few hours. The beds have metallic frame wich makes a lot of noise when turning. We got the uper beds as last ones to check in the room and the upper bed (set of 3 on top of each other) didn't had the steps to climb. My partner climbed first, but after needing to use facilities in the night decide to stick with me in the middle bed, good we fit both. Kitchen is very basic, needs a little more cleaning, a little mouse was wandering around.
When you check in and see the staff who work there to give you big smile then feel so kind and friendly.
Only one key for 5 beds room, but no a problem to me.
We were given room with a guy which was said to be a very nice guy. He made us feel very uncomfortable all the time that we didn’t want to come back to hostel at night at all. Felt super unsecured.
The staff was ok.
I did not at all feel safe in the area. The bathroom wasn't clean and the room was not in good condition.
Pretty much as expected. A courteous check-in. Three toilets and one shower on 1F, just sufficient. Close to Gare du Nord. A metro right outside and some attractions nearby. Basic but clean. Good security.
Good enough if you are on a budget, but there must be better options for longer stays in Paris. If you are in one of the rooms facing the street it is rather noisy at night. Reports about the roughness of the neighbourhood are exaggerated, but pickpockets do operate in the area so beware. I can also imagine petty theft taking place in the rooms, so mind your things.
