The hotel is very good with very good service. Rooms are nice and modern and the sea view is quite amazing. Breakfast is quite good.
There is a garbage place right next to the hotel that is burned every day so the smell is quite bad. Beach is ok but water is not that clean as there is a pipe next to the hotel. Prices at the bar are expensive for Phu Quoc but it is pleasant as you sit in the water. Sometimes is is a challenge to find a spot at the pool so you need to be creative. Overall good experience.
The hotel itself is new and everything is clean and proper. All facilities look great. The pool area is incredible with a nice infinity pool. Same goes for all other areas. The breakfast was delicous and the variety was very very big. Also there a is a pickup to and from the airport incluced (there were some delays in both, but I guess, this might just happen). The rooms are super nice, cosy, new, spacious and clean. The location is great in the city centre of Duong and only a short walk to the night market.
While all of the above rather matches a 5 Star hotel I unfortunatley have to say, that some staff members and the service offererd did not match a 5 star hotel. What really was annoying to me was the fact that most members in various areas did speak only very little and only basic English. This is not acceptable for 5 star hotel with international guests. Besides this there were some situations where I was treated like a little kid and in a rather unprofessional way and that is a no go.2 examples: I was sitting at a big table at breakfast (I am travelling alone) as there was no smaller table in the first place. There where 5 seats left on that table. So instead of seating other people there (which of course would have been absolutely ok for me) the breakfast staff asked me while I was eating (!!!!!!!!!!), if I could leave the table to move to a smaller one. I thought, I misunderstood, but that was exactly what they asked. Unbelievable and totally not worth a 5 star house. Of course, I did not move. They next bummer then at check out. While I was waiting they obviously had my room checked and found out, that shower gel was missing. Shower gel!!!! I thought, I misunderstood again, but it seems, one of the various shampoo/washing gel dispensers was missing (assumingly having a value of approx 2,00 euro). Again, even if the bloody dispenser was missing, replace it. It was not made of gold ;-) . I got a little angry and so they stopped the conversation on this. Again, not worth a five star house. So with regards to service and staff the price I paid felt far too high, while the facilities were of course worth it. But a hotel stay at the end consists of both parts (service AND facilities). And there I felt a little tricked with regards to the high price, I have to admit.
I liked the location. The facilities and room was also very good. Vietnamese food was also good. Pool and beach are nice to feature. Cleanness.
Stuff could improve English significantly for that price, only 1-2 persons outside reception were speaking fluent English. They charge you some weird insurance at check-in like they do not trust to the guests. Western food could be prepared better.
Great location, infinity pool was amazing, nice beach and enjoyed the ability to use the free sea kayaks. Buffet breakfast was outstanding.
First night of my stay I was kept awake by very loud drilling and banging right next to my room from 11pm to 1am. When I tried to talk to the receptionist about it she merely said that they were fixing the facilities. When I queried why at midnight whilst people are trying to sleep, she said it had to be done then. For a 5 star hotel I thought this was unacceptable and very disappointing, especially to ignore my complaint. Such a shame as everything else about the hotel and the service was amazing.
Spotlessly clean Modern/contemporary style Great pool Super friendly service Great variety of food at breakfast Close to night market
Very very family oriented Kids outnumbered adults Seems that large groups are their main business, vast majority being Chinese families - this is not a judgement just a fact. Extremely loud kids (as most kids are) made it impossible to relax
