Location to town and view of the ocean Sheets weren't changed from the previous guests.
Great setting. Beautiful view and convenient to everything
The location was excellent. View of the water was gorgeous. Breakfast was pretty good (continental - eggs, breads, pastries, fruit). Considering the cost in that area, this was an excellent value. The hotel is a bit dated and the rooms were not that clean (okay, but could have used a bit more TLC). You will hear your neighbors above you (walking). Staff was not very forthcoming with information. For example, there is a free shuttle to Bar Harbor that leaves from the hotel which I found out about only by accident - not because anyone told me.
The view of the ocean is amazing. The staff is very friendly. Some areas need updating -- for example, the rug in the elevator of building #4 is terrible.
No tub, only a stand up shower
The Bar Harbor Motel isn't fancy, but it's clean, and the staff is extraordinarily friendly and helpful. I would characterize the motel as being great for families, or for hikers looking for a relatively inexpensive place to sleep and a free breakfast before hitting the trails at Acadia National Park. There are not many "creature comforts," but the beds are comfortable and the showers are hot, which is what hikers are really looking for. I would certainly stay there again.
The room was clean. Bathroom nice. That's about all I can say that I liked about the place. Arrived at night. Could not see the Holiday Inn sign well enough to know we had arrived. Difficult to go turn around to turn into the drive. Lobby sign too low to the ground and blocked by a car. Doorman was nice, but the rest of the staff were so-so.
Pool, spa, and bar area. Beds/pillows were comfortable. Room was clean. Free shuttle to downtown. Advertised as oceanfront, however only a select few are even remotely close. Very poor wifi connection. Stewman's lobster pound was very expensive. Very limited parking. Very late check-in.
-Room was spacious and comfortable -bathroom had a window for extra light and ventilation -Massage chair was a nice addition -plenty of storage for clothing in dresser and closet -plenty of parking -beautiful view -pool had plenty of seating and was well maintained -fitness facility was easily accessible and met my needs -short walk/drive to looking glass restaurant -main bar with piano player was enjoyable -could use more easily accessible outlets -on two occasions (once in the fitness center, another in the main lobby) the water cooler did not have the cap removed by the staff. In the fitness center, I had to remove it myself and flip over the 5 gallon cooler. In the lobby I left it as is.
The ocean view outside our room was breath taking. We absolutely loved it! Thank you. It could use some updating in certain areas.
the price was high and dodnt include breakfast
great location the room was really musty.
Young couple on a hiking trip in Acadia, stayed 4 nights. The room was clean, plenty of space for a lot of luggage/gear. Refrigerator in room was helpful. Breakfast was great. View of the ocean. Highly recommend. Nothing.
Comfortable bed.....nice room amenities To close to road....heavy traffic noise Prominent "old hotel smell" of diinfectant in room. Even hung to my clothes upon leaving.
Location I reserved a king suite. What I received was a regular room with a king bed. What they consider a suite is what other hotels consider normal.
Very good location, extremely helpful staff.
location you could not smoke on the balcony outside your room
The privacy was great. Front staff was very helpful. Very comfortable bed. Nice large refrigerator in room as well as a microwave. Nice bathroom. Very dated carpeting. Wallpaper is old. As senior travelers, a first floor room would have been easier than a steep stairway, but we managed.

Large rooms and proximity to town.
everything The light in the balcony was always on at night
Off the main strip on a quiet street. Private location, easy parking. An easy walk to everything in town without having to drive. No ocean view - but we knew that going in. It's a couple blocks to the water.
The location was nice. Huge chunk of peeling paint from ceiling in bedroom. Lights kept dimming in bathroom if left on for longer than a few minutes. Bathroom door handle plate was missing screws and not anchored to door--ending up catching on my clothes. :(
Breakfast was delicious. Location is convenient. There were some dolls lying in the house that look creepy. Maybe I watch too many horror movies.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good, lots of variety and plenty of room.
The hotel staff were very accomodating, and helpful in recommending local points of interest. The breakfast provided was excellent. The facility though it appears a bit dated is very well maintained. Would definitely recommend to a friend, and will revisit if we vacation there again. n/a
The staff were very helpful and the treats(cookies, tea, hot chocolate, etc) at the front desk were very good. I searched for a motel with more than a continental breakfast in the area that was reasonably priced and this one was a true winner! The area is beautiful and this was a very well maintained, clean, family friendly motel close to the acadia's east entrance.
Pool was not heated
Excellent breakfast. Convenient location.
Friendly knowledgeable staff provide advice and recommendations. The location of the hotel, in the center of town meant that one can simply walk everywhere. Access to Arcadia National Park is only a couple of miles away from the hotel. Nothing to dislike. Will go again!
