Generally good overall experience with Alamo. No issues with vehicle rented. The car I reserved wasn't available when I arrived at Alamo. The worker arranged for an "upgrade" that upgraded the cost by adding $70 to the cost of the rental, not including fees. Wasn't expecting this. Wish I had other options but needed the rental car so agreed to the extra charge. That was the biggest negative with this rental experience.

My experience was outstanding! Excellent car, spotless and fun to drive. I left my phone in the car and went back to retrieve it. The customer service rep took my information and went looking for the car. Ten minutes later she came back with it in her hands. What a great relief 😅

There was no line at the pickup counter, I was helped immediately and the woman was so kind. We walked to our van which was clean and ready to go. No issues throughout the week, and returning the rental was a breeze. I just pulled in, parked, and since there was a line of returning vehicles the man told me to leave the keys on the dash and I would get a text later. That was it! Smooth, quick, easy. No complaints.

I didn't realize the pick up spot wasn't at the airport, and so I arrived later than my pick up time. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The process, once I got there, took less than 15 minutes. The car was great! I had a really nice trip.

The reps at Charlotte airport tried to give me another vehicle because they wanted to use me to drive it back since it was a one way rental. The ‘rep’ at Baltimore airport at check-in was extremely rude and disrespectful. I report this and they never addressed any of this.

There was little I liked about this rental experience, but the worst part was definitely the car itself. It reeked of cigarette/cannabis smoke, it had cigarette burn holes over every seat’s upholstery, I had to throw away trash left in the back seat, wipe down all the finger prints and other smudges and streaks throughout the car and it’s screen, and clean some sort of food that was smashed into the rear seat upholstery. It made for a gross and smelly 12 hour drive. I have been traveling a lot for work, and using Avis as my go-to car provider, but I have lost faith based on this and other experiences with the company. (The exception is my local Avis store, run by Abdi, who was the reason I made Avis my provider of choice.) At this point, I intend to use other travel arrangements that will avoid needing to rent. It’s unfortunate this means Avis, intermediaries (like Kayak.com), and especially Abdi (whom I quite like) will all lose out.

Tires are not inspected for the renters. Was so disappointed coz the inner parts of all tire are bald and we are traveling in the middle of summer (118 degrees). The safety of the passengers are always the concern of the company

Awful. Stop pushing EV as rental choice. There aren’t any charging stations in and around the Ft Lauderdale area, all of the locations I was directed to were either broken or not there at all. (I had requested a Tesla which would not have been an issue, but was given a Ford Mach E). Get a better procedure before renting out vehicles because I turned away two because of cleanliness and marijuana odor.

Poor service, bad attitude, the office is too busy with excuses. Make reservations to pick up at 8 am and not ready till 10:30. Car was not cleaned, dog hair was on the car. Few trash left. When I return the car, the girl I believe she is a manager wants me to send the proofs that dogs hair was there before I pick up and vacuum the car or she will charge me. I don’t recall they give me the clean car when I pick it up. Never have problem with budget in the past. This is the first time that I have bad experience.

Blew a tire in a grand wangoneer no spare so sat for three hours on the highway til i paid a guy for a used tire. took another day to get a replacement car. who rents a truck with no spare ? Never rent from them plus the cars were dirty to boot. I think they are going chapter 11

Pros:

Everything was close by and without hassle. I wanted to save a bit of money so reserved the smallest car I could even though there were 4 of us, and three are 6 foot or taller. They gave us a Suzuki hatchback and it was great. Lots of head room and leg room and very comfortable.

Cons:

The car was a little dirty. I think that's an Alaska thing. We found a sock in the back. Also something we did not know was the high price of the 5 minute ferry ride from airport to Ketchikan. Not the car rental company's fault, but a sticker shock for sure. $70 for 4 people and a car.

Everyone was very professional, friendly, and hard working. No high pressure sales or upgrade pitches. They got me in and out quickly during both the check in and check out processes. I very much appreciated their young, hard working crew. They seemed to enjoy doing their jobs, and had a great camaraderie that spilled over into their customer service. I'll definitely be using Midway again.

I am really impressed with the service, their vehicles, and a really smooth process. They moved fast. The shuttle was ready and moved quickly to and from the airport terminal. I am close to being a road warrior and familiar with rental car companies. Most budget conscious car rental companies tend to be a mess and sneaky as hell. The person at the counter will naturally try to upsell you. That is their job because it creates profit for their business model. Don’t be upset about that. Learn the trade. Understand that if you have insurance coverage (legit and verifiable) you can decline their policies. If they offer an upgraded vehicle, decline it or be willing to pay for the nicer/bigger vehicle. I was treated with respect and transparency. I will return without hesitation. The only caveat is the location is off the airport campus and that requires transferring to a second shuttle. Not difficult, and not that much longer. Just call ahead for instructions and study them to avoid missteps. They will email you the day before you pickup and before returning your vehicle with clear instructions! I don’t see that much at all from other companies; much less from the large corporate franchises. Midway does a lot of things right. Give them a chance.

I will never purchase a rental car through Kayak or with Midway again. Kayak offered a $50 rental (insurance included) through Midway for the day for a Nissan Versa. When I arrived at Midway I had to pay for additional insurance because the insurance purchased with Kayak for the rental didn’t cover Midway’s cars. Midway doesn’t charge for the first 150 miles but after that it’s $.50 per mile. I paid $200 for a one day rental. Nickel and dimed the entire process. I will never rent from either companies again. It was my worst car rental experience.

They did not have a car for me even though I successfully booked it. They told me they called and left a message but I had no missed calls and no messages. They said it was because I booked the day before but they waited until I showed up the next day to tell me there were no cars. Put me in a really rough spot and were super unfriendly. I figured it out with enterprise who were so much friendlier to me.

I showed up and they told me they didn’t have a car for me and would need to be placed on a waitlist with no guarantee of a car, even though I had a confirmation # from them. They were quite rude about it as well. They had cars on the lot but were only available as upgrades and cost more money. There were numerous others in the same boat. They blamed it on crowdstrike which I understand but the customer service was very poor.

Did not pick up car. Canceled reservation and was still charged over 400$. When I call they say I can only be reimbursed by sending a email. I emailed them over 5 business days ago. No response. Would never EVER rent from a Hertz again in my life

I flew on 7/19/24 - the day of the global IT outage. My flight was delayed 4 times, then cancelled, then we re-booked a flight at a different airport, and then we missed that plane and had to re-book again at the last minute. We had to fly to a different airport which would require a 2.75 hour drive to our destination. Fortunately, we arrived around 9:30 pm so we thought it wouldn't be too bad. Even given all of those inconveniences, do you know what the WORST part of our day was? Dealing with the staff at the Hertz desk. Manipulation, lies, and unnecessary delays. I was traveling with a child, and trying to ensure her safety while she laid down on a couch along the wall, waiting for me while I waited and waited and waited in line. BUT there were only a couple of people in the line! The wait was because staff spent an ENORMOUS amount of time with each customer, trying to deceive them and upsell them. When it was finally my turn, the staff did a bait-and-switch with me. Then he told me I couldn't upgrade. Then he told me I could only upgrade if I paid for the reserved car as well. Then he lied to me about my car insurance. Then he priced out a car for $85/day for 3 days and presented me with a written bill for $600.00. I asked for a copy of it for my records and he refused. My 7 year old granddaughter repeatedly walked over to me, sleepy-eyed and asked, 'what is taking SO LONG Grammy?' The staff made me leave the line, go and make another reservation and only then would he allow me to book a car rental. We finally left there AFTER 11:00 PM - to begin our 2.75 hour drive to our destination. It was an extraordinary abuse of a customer, and I will NEVER use Hertz again. I was not able to ever cancel the original reservation: K9242146653. The staff told me reservations cannot be cancelled and it didn't matter because you only get charged when you pick up the car. He said you could make 10 reservations and you wouldn't get charged for them if you don't pick up the car. Would you please ensure that this is correct as they were very deceitful and I can't trust anything they said. Please make sure that I am only being charged for the actual car I rented. It was a 2024 Hyundai Kona, license TN 736BMPZ. The new reservation number was #K92430569D0. Thank you.

I had an AWFUL experience with the Hertz group in the Niagara Falls NY region. 1) I knew Wednesday, the day before that I was going to be delayed by an hour picking up the car on Thursday, and tried 6 times to call. Several times the line hung up, one time it said it was busy and the last time a message said they were closed for the day (an hour before published closing time at 5pm) 2) when I arrived, I discovered that it was nothing but a rented beat-up desk in the corner of car repair office (Amherst Automotive) with NO Hertz staff on site. The car repair shop, of course, who rent to Hertz, took no responsibility for their customer service, nor did I want them too. But I HAD NO WAY TO GET IN CONTACT WITH THE MANAGEMENT OF THAT SITE! Finally, one of the repair shop managers called a number for the Hertz general manager and the Hertz rep said he would be there in 30 minutes. It took at least 45. While I was waiting another Hertz customer came in with the exact same problem I was having. She left though. When the Hertz rep finally arrived, the young man apologized and said that it was Hertz management who was stretching 3 workers over 4 offices and that they only turned up when a customer was expected. He gave me a dispensation to not return the car full as atonement for the trouble. RETURNING THE CAR WAS EVEN WORSE. I had to return the car on Sunday afternoon instead of Monday, but again, I could reach no one by phone, and there was NO Hertz drop box, and the number posted on door by Hertz gave a number that didn't answer when they were closed (I also happened to know that it doesn't answer when they are open either!) I called 4 different Hertz numbers, one I had been given by the Hertz attendant on Thursday, the one listed in the Hertz Niagara website, the one at the Niagara Falls Airport (that one the Hertz attendant said always worked---evidently not). Finally I called the national one, and was online two different times, waiting for a total of two hours standing there outside the closed repair shop. While we were waiting with awful wait music and advertisements blaring, (miraculously for a Sunday afternoon) one of the repair shop's employees came out from the building. He called HIS manager, who gave him permission to put the keys on the Hertz desk along with a note from me. Meanwhile, when I DID did finally get a live person...somewhere in the Philippines I think, that person didn't seem to understand what I was needing ("What do I do with the keys???") and she shunted me off to another person for a 1/2 hour's wait. The second Philippine lady finally said she had sent an email to the Hertz Niagara telling them that the keys were on the desk. I had taken a video of the car just to be safe, and took a picture of the keys and the note and the rental agreement for the same reason. I have NEVER EVER had such terrible service or seen such a completely unprepared system even in the back country of South America or the outer Greek Islands, where I've rented cars.

They tried to slip in an extra $80 charge for my car. When I asked them what it was for and attendant named Ashley made me wait for 30 minutes to speak to her supervisor. When I finally get to the supervisor all he did was make stupid dad jokes about how his day was going. He called me into his office, did not invite me to sit down, and spent 10 minutes determining that he has no idea what Ashley was doing. When I asked if this was of any concern— That his employees are just charging customers, large sums of money with no Justification, he just stared at me., And aggressive. Never go with her. Every couple years I Go with them because of a low price, and I get reminded why this is such a shitty company.

Our reservation price did not match what Thrifty had. Took 30 minutes to straighten out. Agent was very nice. We also had to wait 30 minutes in line because although there were 8 counters, there were only 2 agents. We were very tired and had wished things had gone more smoothly & a little faster. We ended up taking an hour to get our rental car.

the car was ok, but there was wear and tear damage that i did not want to be blamed for nor charged for, so there was extra time needed for check out. on return, there was no one greeting the cars and only after waiting for about 10 minutes did I see a sign saying one should note the mileage and fuel, but there was no quick/easy way to find the odometer setting on the car, and how would I note the mileage without a pen if I did find the setting?

The biggest issue was a noise coming from the back of the vehicle when driving over 60 m/ hr. I contacted Dollar, but unfortunately, there were no locations anywhere near where I was. it was bothersome because I was hoping that the car wouldn’t break down in the middle of nowhere.

The car had not been cleaned and the dashboard looked like it had been hit with a blowtorch. Terrible shape considering the car only had 35k miles on it. The service people were nice enough but seemed flummoxed about offering me a different car when the one I ordered was not ready.

Absolutely awful. They didn’t have anyone at the Payless so everyone had to be in one line at the Avis. Line was SO long and the staff was moving so slowly. I saw one staff member texting slowly while looking at all of us in the long line. Extremely hot in there, felt like no AC. We ended up walking out and choosing to Uber the hour drive to our hotel and waste the money because we had a wedding to get to. Truly one of the worst experiences ever. Do NOT use this company!!!!

Advantage Car Rental will try to take advantage of you. I was subjected to relentless hard upsell tactics at 11pm at night. I resisted, and paid the agreed-upon price; a colleague gave in and ended up paying 3x the reservation price and was upset for days. First: The "Compact SUV" turned out to be a European-sized mini hatchback, NOT an SUV by any stretch of anyone's imagination (Kia Kona). It's just a compact hatchback sedan. So I got relentlessly pressured to: 1) Upgrade the car, being told that nothing will fit into it 2) Buy insurance - everywhere else I tell them that my credit card covers it, and that's that; here they demanded to see my actual personal policy before agreeing to not charge me extra $$$ 3) rent a SunPass for tolls for $10 a day, threatening that if I go through a single toll without it they'll charge me $50, and lying that there are no options to pay cash at many of the tolls, etc. It was RELENTLESS. The guy must have cut his chops in timeshare sales. Truth went out the window as he kept coming up with all the problems I'd encounter if I didn't pay up. If you're the type who can sit through a timeshare pitch and not buy, you can remain steadfast and get the agreed-upon price, which is admittedly great. That seems to be their business model - advertise a low price and then beat extra cash out of you like a pinata when you arrive, tired, from your flight. While I was there, another tired family fresh off a flight was arguing with a rep about their reservation not being honored. The return process was very easy and they didn't pull any tricks as I worried they might. So, would I rent from them again? Yes, but I'd go in mentally prepared.

First of all, you never told me where to pick. I guess I never read the emails, but you never told me where to pick up the car so when I got to Florida airport, I tried to reach out to you and there’s no nowhere to call and it was voice automated is my first time to run from you guys so it be nice to receive a phone call the day before or two days before to tell me where to pick up the car And I thought it was actually gonna be easy to pick up the car at the airport that would be easy, but I am new to renting cars so it would be nice to get feedback but I’m hoping that you guys could reimburse me the $90 for fee but if you can reach out to me, my number is 9175181031. Shuttle experience was good; not long to wait. Once on site of rental car, service was mediocre. Rep treated us like we were trying to take advantage and he kept repeating the policy even though we were not arguing the fact of paying extra fees. He just didn’t have the best customer service attitude. He chose the worst car when he found out it was a one-way rental; the car was missing a hubcap and was not the best comfort ride in the interstate.

Unfortunately, we have to wait more than an hour to get a car, in a cabin without air conditioning with very unfriendly staff. When we finally got the car, it was very dirty. in addition, we received a car that was non-evaporative. The left rear tire was deflating and I had to fill it every day. when I called the office, they told me that they don't have a car available at the moment and that if I want another car, I should come to them and wait until someone returns the rental car. The least I expected was for them to apologize and bring me another car to the hotel where I was staying. Very bad experience.

No working telephone number at Dalles Fort Worth Airport and the office was not located in terminal, it requires two shuttle3s to get to the rental location. Additionally, they close at 4p.m. My flight arrived 3:30p.m. I did not end up renting from them because of timeline and extremely poor communications. National office tried to help but issue was with the local office.

Horrible!!! I ended up playing 3 times more than i supposed to. Insurance paid thru Kayak was invalid, so instead of paying $296 + $80 CAD I ended up paying $596 US + $80 CAD. The car was the worst car I ever rented. 5 years old with almost 60k miles. With broken front bumper, missing dash went panels, broken front collision sensor, broken rear parking sensors, dings and scratches all over body. Gas tank supposed to be full, but it wasn’t. Pickup location requires two separate shuttles with 30 minutes wait time for each. Overall, I was scammed by Kayak, Economy car rental and Insurance provider.

When we finally arrived at the office it was a junk yard with very bad quality cars. Their service was horrible and 2 hrs later we still didn’t get a car. Do not ever rent from them. We never got our car. They stole $1600 from us. We paid Kayak and are unable to get our money back. Kayak and Expedia, and Economy Rent a Car couldn’t issue a refund.

Kayak should not promote rentals with Easirent and their name should have nothing to do with the AUS airport. It is so far way and that is not advertised. The worst customer service, no service btwn 6pm-8am. They turned the car on but forgot to give us the keys so we drove away and then got stranded in the middle of nowhere. They didn’t bring us a key - I had to Uber back to pick it up. Then the guy who shuttles to AUS was the cherry on top and said I needed to get my own Uber back to the airport. I hope they give me a full refund but this has been waaay more headache than I have ever had to deal with regarding a car rental. I don’t think I’ll ever book w a car through Kayak again. Not enough info was provided and it really ruined our trip. Too stressful.

They’re terrible with customer service. Due to unforeseen global outages on 7/19, my flight was delayed and I arrived at the airport late. I was told over the phone that my minivan was no longer available and that I would have to pay more to accommodate my guests and I. I attempted to cancel the reservation and proceeded to book through another company. The reservation is still active through the app and now I’m being told I may not be refunded for services I never even used. Sadly disappointed in NU car rental and will never do business with them again. I felt disrespected and devalued as a customer when the situation was completely out of my hands.

We came 2 hours early to get our car and had to book an additional day (to have a minivan instead of the car we had chosen) because we were told they had no cars available (even though the lot was full). The main reason we chose this rental agency was to save money, so this defeated the purpose. Also, although there were 3 people there not busy, no one offered us help. More importantly though, the check engine light came on multiple times during the trip, and the car smelled kinda bad (like it hadn't been cleaned in a while). We're going to be sticking to Enterprise or National from now on.

We waited over an hour rent our car. The counter clerk refused to accept our proof of auto insurance. We were charged $30 a day for insurance we already had. We even had our insurance agent EMAIL A COPY OF PROOF and he still refused it! In Colorado, and all states, only licensed producers can review, advise or make recommendations any insurance. A COUNTER PERSON AT A RENTAL AGENCY IS NOT LICENSED IN, NOT SHOULD THEY ADVISE ON THE MERITS OF YOUR COVERAGE, OR ANY COVERAGE OFFERED. Their motivation is that they get paid bonus money when ever they sell insurance. Also, they talk to you in a cubicle so you can't hear what other clerks are telling their customers, who does this?!? We couldn't cancel as we had prepaid. Then we found out you can only drive their car in a handful of states. We called customer service to ask about what would happen if we drive the car to a state not on their list, she said... I'm not allowed to say! We were originally told they would charge $.20/mile, which we would have been willing to do as we we going to a funeral. DO NOT RENT FROM NU!!!

When we arrived, they said there was one car available in our price group (full/standard car)… but it had Totally Bald Tires - no treads on the front two tires at all. They had mini vans available with good tires, but said that would cost a significant amount more money. We waited there for over an hour, and one of the guys finally brought up a car from the back that had better tires. The person who drove the shuttle & eventually found the safe car was very nice. It just took a long time and it always upsets me when they offer you cars with tires that are unsafe. (We had a rental car tire shred on a busy interstate once - terrifying.) The shop is a shuttle ride away from the airport, also. All in all, an ok experience, but won’t return.

They should require the insurance liability amount required up front because it’s extremely high and the charge is a big hidden fee. Also, gas should always be full at pick up so i can fill up the tank at drop off. I received the car at less than 3/4 full and had to guess how much to fill back up to that point because the gas station doesn’t just stop at 3/4th. Another hidden fee.

My flight from Chicago to Charlotte experience a 4 hour delayed due to storms and the closing of the airport in CLT (temporarily). By the time I landed in Charlotte, CarWiz was closed. I called and called and all I got was a recording stating the office is closed till next morning. I had to scramble and get a car at an astronomical price. I am NOT PAYING for anything with carWiz and I better not get charge for anything regarding this disaster of an experience.

I never pick up my car the unprofessional front desk do not allow me to offer my personal insurance car. They request me to paid 350 dollars for the insurance, which I show her the disclosure documents from my insurance company and she said that if my name is not in the insurance card, she will not letting me driver the car. The car was clean and reliable, and the shuttle driver, who took me to back to the airport, was great. Otherwise, I would never recommend this rental company. My reservation was nonrefundable, which was fine, except for the fact that the agent, who checked me in, told me that I had to purchase their liability insurance because they didn’t “accept insurance from my insurance company” but that he would accept it for comp/collision coverage. Instead of losing the $190 I had already paid, I went ahead and purchased the liability insurance, for an additional $150. I then called my insurance agent, who assured me that my liability insurance would cover any rental car, in the US. I have attempted to have the $150 refunded to me, but have had a very difficult time reaching anyone who seems to be able to address the issue. Overall, I was very disappointed in the sneaky and unscrupulous practices this company employs.

Scam! Was turned away when showing up to pick up car due to “cancelled” reservation by MEX without any notification. They used this trick to force you rent their car at last minute at significantly higher price. On top of that, the rate they sell does not include any liability coverage or any coverage at all and forces you to pay ~$50-100/day for liability and additional $50-100/day for collision insurance which if you don’t pay for these, you will not get the rental car and have you stranded there without much choice. They don’t accept corporate or personal auto insurance for coverage. They may accept collision waiver from credit card coverage IF you can produce declaration from CC company but this typically needs to be arranged way ahead of time, no way you can obtain last minute. Even then, you will still need to pay the liability coverage which no CC will cover and they don’t allow using corporate/personal auto insurance. The service was unfriendly and hostile and their price gouging mindset is obvious. All other people arriving for pickup experience similar issues either with insurance coverage, cancelled reservation or huge amount of money/deposit hold requirement (minimum $1000-$2000 hold except if you buy all their insurance coverages, based on what I heard from other people’s interaction with MEX. I believe their policy is illegal and against US consumers protection policy. Will be submitting BBB complaint, FDC and other agencies.

Please please please save yourself from a rental hell. Stick with one of the big names at the airport rental place. Not the bus outside of the airport to save a few dollars. We needed a minivan and they were the only ones to have one - so we took a chance and it was the absolute worst. They have no one working so everything took sooooo so long. They want to charge you for everything and only verbally talk you through it at a speed in which you can’t understand. Then when you try and ask clarifying questions, they just get annoyed as if you should have heard it the first time. They literally have like 2 people there and had a line of so many people for over an hour. Also, we live on the opposite side of the state of Florida and thought we had unlimited miles…. Nope. They said if you live within the state you only get 50 a day because of Uber/doordash etc. Clearly I didn’t go on vacation with 3 small children and click the extra 4-5 places in order to see that living in Florida voids the unlimited, so then we were forced to pay overage amounts bc we drove to key west and back. Complete nightmare of a company. Please just rent from Avis, enterprise, hertz, etc

When I went to pickup my car, I had to wait ~1 hour to speak with someone at the desk. The agent I spoke to at the desk lied to me and said that I cannot use my personal auto insurance and had to use their plan. I call their corporate number later and the confirmed that agent was incorrect and refunded my money spent on the insurance. The car they had reserved for me was stuck behind several cars on the lot and inaccessible. Because of this they tried to give me another vehicle in the same class. The replacement they picked had visible damage/dent to the multiple panels, doors, and bumper. I started documenting all the damage in detail and taking pictures, the agent started getting visibly annoyed. He ended up providing me with a different car in the end. When I came time to drop off the vehicle, the lot nearly full and there was a line extending into the street just to enter the lot. I'm still waiting to deposit to be returned and I anticipating that I will need to call their corporate office again. This was an extremely poor experience through and through. I will never rent from Mexrentacar ever again, and I will never recommend their services to anyone.

I probably didn't read the correspondence carefully. My drivers license wasn't sufficient ID and they required a second form of ID. If I hadn't had one on me I would have had to go to another counter to rent. You should make that requirement in BOLD print so I can't skim past it.

My experience with State Van Rental was ok. The attended was professional and explained there process. What could have been better….. an updated van. I like how the attendant came and picked us up and drop us right off at the drop off area for our flight. In my next travel if a van is needed I will use them again.

We got to the office to drop off the van we rented at 7:35am and the office was closed. We had to wait for the manager to get there. Who arrived at 7:45am, and the everything worked out fine and seamless, but we got a little nervous because no one informed us the wouldn't be working.

Booked for at airport and it wound up being off property and 2 shuttles to get to it. The people at the car rental were pleasant. However I was not told they don’t open until 9am and I’d be charged 45 for drop off early. Elevator in parking deck was broken so we walked our luggage down entire parking deck. Others were complaining as well about drop off, no elevator etc.

Alberto was very friendly and punctual. I had left my car keys somewhere in the car and noticed it when I got back home. I got a call from Priceless they found my keys and will mail them the morning after. I have no words to express my gratitude. I have a gold medal that belonged to my Dad attached to the keys and it is the only thing I keep from him.

My car reservation was canceled because I was an hour late from the time they determined for me to pick it up. IMO this is a bad policy which will cost them revenue in the long run. They were very unhelpful in helping me reserve another car. The best they could do was send me back to the airport to another rental company. Again, another bad policy that will most likely hurt their business.

If you do not arrive within 1-2 hours of your reservation time, they give your car away and don't have backups for you! EVERYONE in that arrived on my shuttle were in the same boat; they didn't have any of our vehicles; they were simply telling everyone that their reservation is cancelled, we'll receive our money back (eventually), and we just need to go elsewhere to find a car last minute, at night. IT WAS A DISASTER! Thank God one of the guys working there took pity on my group since I had my 80 year old parents with me, and managed to find another vehicle for us. It was smaller than what we rented, but at least it was a vehicle. I'm thankful to the employee who bent over backwards to find us a vehicle, but York's policy of re-renting everyone's cars if they are not there within 1-2 hours is CRAZY! Everyone else got screwed. It was an awful experience. Oh, it it took HOURS for all of that to get settled. 0/5 stars.

Bad hours, no communication when I emailed about extra charges, extra unexplained charges, wrong vehicle. I purchased an intermediate SUV rental and was initially told I would get a sedan, them was given a tiny crossover when I showed my confirmation email. We could barely fit 5 people and luggage in it.

I was a little wary about going with a local car rental agency -- I've gotten cars that weren't clean or smelled smoky. Black & White were extremely polite, professional and prompt. I was picked up in an impeccably clean Suburban, and the car I got (Toyota Corolla) was very clean and worked well. As a female, some of these car rental agencies don't feel safe and seem sketchy, but this agency was not one of them. I would 100% recommend them again, and I will definitely see if they have a car for me the next time I need a car from LAX.

Friendly counter staff, but they were making everyone scan a QR code and give them a 5 star review before they would give you a car. Very odd. They also charged way too much for this car but I needed it and they were the only ones with cars. It’s a fine line between charging what the market will bear and price gouging. The car was smaller (and cheesier) than what I ordered. It was like driving a Coke can. Finally, when my plans changed and I needed to return the car early, they would not refund the difference. They cited a paragraph in their contract, which was literally far too small to read. Overall not a good experience.

I arrived at the airport at 7:30pm and called for a shuttle. I called twice with no answer. I took a taxi out an couldn't find the location. I finally got through and the person on the phone said they closed at 5. On my printed out paper, it says pick up till 9pm. I had to make a last minute booking with another company at the airport and paid a 65$ taxi fee for the back and forth. The money I would have saved was not worth this head ache. I am super disappointed the pick up times weren't clearly indicated and I would have arranged myself accordingly. I think kayak should make a better effort in providing better, reliable companies considering their name is associated with them.

Waited 45 minutes at the airport for the shuttle. Called ACO several times but no answer. Car engine light came on and the ACO call centre was unable to help me, it being a Sunday. I sent a photo and an email of my concern but received no reply. No windshield washer fluid.

Shuttle from airport doesn’t arrive. I called multiple times. No answer, no response to voicemail. Took taxi instead. Hard to find location which is in the middle of nowhere, barely lit and marked Tuff instead of ACO. Got to counter at 7:02 and was told they close at 7 so wouldn’t help me. Also if you are an hour late your entire contract is canceled anyway. So they would not have helped me regardless due to the shuttle bus issue. I was stranded with my toddler and no car. Staff would not even call me a taxi. Thank goodness Lyft was nearby. Terrible staff, terrible service, terrible operation. I wasted $50+ in cab fare thanks to ACO. BEWARE.

The pick up process wad complicated. You have to speak to someone on a screen, and then they require that you go around the vehicle and take a lot of pictures to stay within the contract requirements. This made the pickup process complicated and stressful. Once familiar with the process, the drop off was easier and I would think it’s easy going forward, but it was complicated the first time.

Took too long for pickup. Tried to upsell for everything! Barely spoke English! Wanted proof of insurance and wanted to charge $45 a day for their insurance even though I was already insured. Finally left without a car and went to Alamo and had great service! In the hours I was at surprise car rental not one customer was happy with the service or the car they rented! I will never use this company again and strongly recommend others do not! I will be getting a refund!

It took awhile for the shuttle bus to get to the airport for pickup. My insurance provides coverage for rental cars. Unknown to me, they require a copy of my insurance policy to 'verify' that I have that coverage, or else I have to buy their insurance coverage. My flight was delayed and I got to their facility about 8pm. She said I was supposed to have picked up my car by noon and would 'have to see if they still have a car available and if they could verify that my original rental fees were still available". They decided to let me have the car. It is dark outside and they have the black vehicle out in a dark area where I am supposed to inspect it for any damage. I brought the card back in to her where I marked that I didn't see any obvious damage, but trying to see any surface scratches or scrubs was impossible. She said, 'you didn't write the mileage down''. I said the rental agency normally does that. I went back out and got the mileage. At this point I was frustrated and really needed to get on the road as I had a 1.5 hour drive to get where I had to go and be up for a very early meeting. I have never gotten a rental that didn't have a full tank of gas, EVER. About 10 minutes down the road it started to rain and I was trying to figure out the wipers. I then noticed it only had a 1/2 tank of gas!! When I got back I mentioned this to the lady behind the counter. She said it was my problem because I was supposed to inspect the car before taking it. Lesson learned when dealing with Surprice!!

They DENIED my my car. I was there within 1 hour after my pick up (their policy is 2) due to a flight delay. The person behind the counter only wanted to close and was frustrated and SWEARING at us! My card was charged for the remtal and insurance, neither of which I could use. I ended up having to pay over 100 in Uber at 11pm at night to get to my hotel and struggled to find transportation. Luckily I found an enterprise who had 1 car left or my entirely trip would have been a complete disaster. I will be contacting customer service for a refund for both the rental fee and the insurance I purchased. What a complete mess.

Absolutely terrible company. If I could give it zero stars, I would. I have asked for a refund and had to go with a different rental upon landing in Florida. They tried to take a $3000 deposit even though we already had external insurance. They advertise that they're in the airport which they are not, and they didn't even offer a shuttle - they told us to Uber. Upon looking at reviews, many people said that they kept and wouldn't return the deposits claiming unreal damages. They also tried to do additional toll charges and other random shady things, that they communicated through text. Also, when they asked for the $3000 deposit, and we tried to escalate it since it was completely unheard of, they didn't say anything and changed the contract back to $500 without telling us (to delete the evidence). Terrible, terrible, terrible company. Pay more and go with a reputable service.

AZ car rental cancelled my reservation. as a result of a flight delay. The delay was caused by an airport security breach from the departure location. When I contacted AZ Car rental to complain, their comment was that I needed to advise them before the pickup time.

I paid for an SUV. I never got one. Instead, I got a beat up 8 year old car, that they likely bought from an auction. The bumpers were hanging off. Dents and scratches everywhere. They ignored my complaints. This company is UNKNOWN to anyone AVOID

It wasnt the car that we had originally rented. It was nice but was not big enough for our party. We were told we would loose our money already paid at 12 at night and that this was the only option. They couldnt speak very good english and a $200 insurance was still placed on my card after I told them not to.

it is very deceiving, first of all you already signed agreement where your money is not refundable, while they do not provide enough information for the customer to make inform decision; when you reach to the car rental location to pick up the car that is day and night history, in conclusion it is very deceitful. never again, I will go directly to the car rental location.

Lots of communication and no wait at the airport. The SLI was very confusing to me since I spoke to my insurance prior to the rental and was assured I had everything I needed, so that cost, which almost double the cost of the rental, was confusing. The car was nice and definitely suited our needs. Drop off was a little difficult since I was given the wrong address in a text, but the took us to the airport right away.

My flight was delayed almost 2 hours. When we arrived we found out they had canceled our car rental reservation. Because we had not been there within an hour of scheduled pickup time. How was I supposed to call them from the airplane? Terrible practice.

Well I booked for $69. I knew it had to be too good to be true. It ended up costing over $325. Quite a big difference. They said they didn’t except my insurance that was $25 per day. There was a daily fuel surcharge but I was responsible for the fuel. I had to pre pay tolls at $20 per day. Plus other odd fees. There was also a $1000 hold on my credit card on top of the charge It is NOT at the airport. It is off site and you have to take 2 buses to get there. The worst part was, there was no one at the business to return the car. The doors were open but there were no employees. 3pm. Thankfully we left 3 hours before our flight. We waited over 30 minutes. No one. We finally got ahold of their Miami office. They had me turn the keys in to a guy out side who work for the car rental next door. She refused to give me proof of return or a receipt for over an hour. I had to trust she would email it. I had to catch a plane. Not to mention 2 buses to get back to the terminal. It was an awful experience. It ruined my trip. The fact you offer this as an option is shameful. It’s a scam.

The shuttle driver was nice other than that because I booked a package I didn't know that they would not take my car insurance and made me pay for their insurance. $5000 dollar deductible! Really! My fault on this one. Also tried to get me to pay a penalty for going through 2 tolls. I have been driving Orlando for 30 plus years and didn't go through a toll. He said it says it on the computer that I went through 2, show me the screen. No, show me the date and time. No! Then no I'm not paying. Called credit card company right away. Credit card company asked for the date and time of the tolls too I explained that they would not tell me. They said not to worry about it and they would take care of it.

SCAM!!! BAIT and SWITCH!!! Advertised $125 for 8 days turned into $750. I walked out!! Took the shuttle back to the airport. Found another car rental dealer and booked a new Honda for $450. I would NEVER do business with OTOQ!! EVER!!

The good: they had a car as promised. The not good: they lured me in with a “too good to be true” price a week prior to arrival; then informed me I needed to carry an absurd amount of insurance on my policy, otherwise I need to purchase their insurance at $35 per day. No effort was made to make me aware of this policy prior to arriving. By then you’ve taken the shuttle way outside the airport; and your basically stuck with a huge bill you weren’t planning on. Better to be upfront with customers re: the real cost of the rental before committing to it. But again, they did have a car available.

Staff was very friendly !! Car was clean and very reliable. Although I was not expecting an extra $230 in fees that I had to pay when I got there. I paid $52 for the 3 days I was going to be there when I made the reservation, but when I got there I had to pay an extra $230. They advertised it to be $7/day + tax which was a great deal so I jumped on it. Because of that I won’t rent from them again. I’ll stick with the rentals at the airport.

Disappointed enough to not request more of your services because I closed the business and when I arrived at the agency they demanded a new insurance and asked me for an extra $650. Everything must be dealt with before, both the price, requirements and documentation and when the client pays, the business is closed, and it is criminal that we cleinyes are surprised when we arrive for what we buy or lease. President Baiden said that these bad practices must end so that there is confidence and business is generated in the country. You are ruining the system. Now I want my money back in full since I had to rent a car elsewhere.

The representatives were very nice. I received a prompt call from a very nice person after my complaint about my experience. I was refunded the extra $10.00 I had been charged to get me to the airport in time to catch my flight.

Cons:

Hidden charge - about $4.50 more than quoted by KAYAK. I had to pay $4+ for the inconvenience of waiting longer (they only run every 15 min) for a shuttle; than having to wait 15 mins for another pick up to take me to the car rental. The car was old and smelled. The carpeting was coming away from the floor.

They mixed up my pick up time. I was scheduled to pick up my vehicle at 12 noon, they had me picking up at 2pm. She was adamant about this 2pm pick up time until I showed her my reservation on my phone. After this got worked out, she told me that they not only didn't have the vehicle I requested, they only had one vehicle on site- a gigantic minivan, which isn't ideal for city driving. When returning the vehicle they drop you off about a mile away from the shuttle because, in our driver's words "We don't pay to enter the parking lot" A mile walk carrying luggage at the end of the trip isn't how you want to end a trip.

Took me over 40 minutes to get a car. First car I got had broken trunk lock. Instead of replacing this car, stuff starts to guide me how should I close this trunk. Overall, if you want cheap car, this is the place to go. If you want normal service, I wouldn't recommend this place.

It goes through taking name, etc and sends you email that looks a hell of a lot like a reservation (but does say you have to call to confirm). I called 'to confirm' as required, was greeted rudely, transferred to someone else, and then told they didn't have anything available.

It was an absolutely terrible experience. The person I dealt with when picking up was so rude and unprofessional. I was shocked at the additional expenses and how I felt forced into an insurance that seemed like a scam. There were multiple additional expenses that were not explained to me and the woman seemed to think I was foolish for asking for an explanation. I was so nervous about returning the vehicle that I cut my vacation short by an extra day just to get the vehicle back early in case they were difficult again to deal with. So I had to pay $150 for a hotel just to get the vehicle returned early. When I did go to the dropoff, there was another person having the exact same difficult time with staff. It was so wildly upsetting to watch this man struggling with this horrid customer service as well. I will never use this service again and I will attempt to warn others about this experience.

When I arrived, I was told that there was only a two hour window for pickup, and that had expired! The rental agent was exceedingly unhelpful. His suggestion was to return to the airport and rent from someone else. When I called the number on the reservation voucher, I received a similar response. No refund. If I could give a negative rating, this would get it. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!!! THIS IS A COMPLETE SCAM!!!

Charged extra for insurance when my insurance policy covers rentals cars. Told this was because I had insurance from a Canadian company. This was over $90.00 USD. Misled into getting the capped toll fees that were $12 per day when I really only needed the transponder. Ending up spending more on these bogus charges than actual cost of rental. Had to wait quite a while for shuttle pick up. Vehicle needed an oil change and the rear right tire kept losing air, when I called my only option was to drive back to the rental lot. Had to keep adding air to the tire every 2 days.

Staff did not understand the english language, desk was not at the airline terminal as advertised, could not get anyone to pick us up at the terminal, had to make a phone call to get someone to pick us up at the terminal, coverage I paid for was not of any value so I had to buy additional coverage, did not get a car I asked for, took so long to finally get my car I was 3 hours late arriving at my destination.
