The car was malfunctioning and we brought it to Alamo rental at the airport but they didn’t help at all. We were forced to park the car and leave it at our families. The only person that helped was the guy who took the car back and they called to get us a discount on the rental which we haven’t received.

This is the second car i have rented over the past 2 weeks at the miami lakes location, however, both cars have smelled like a cigarette ashtray…. This second car was supposed to have a full tank and was not even 1/4 full. The lady who received my returned rental, made it easy by allowing me to explain that it was not full tank when received but 1/4 of a tank

Was unable to pick up car as I was informed days before the trip that the off site rental location closed at 2:00 pm on Saturday that we arrived and was closed entirely on Sunday. Ended up using Uber and saved over a thousand dollars.

Great customer service. I had to change my car for a 4WD, contacted Sixt via email, got an answer immediately. When I arrived to the airport took the shuttle, arrived in no time, the driver was very helpful and nice, at the office Antonio assisted us, very professional gave us all the options. I returned the car a different city, same excellent service, they took us to our hotel at the airport. Will definitely book my next rental with Sixt. Simply excellent!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY they're trying to charge me an additional $79.85 for gas even though I turned it in with slightly more in it than when it was given to me! It was just under the first tick above half when I got it. I put it over the tick when I turned it in. Now just about half a tank of gas is somehow worth $80. Also, the $200 deposit was not told to me before booking, so I had to scramble for that money! Now they're saying it could take 14 days to be returned! Awful, shady practices. Would not trust them again. They seem cheaper at first for a reason.

Customer service desk in Atlanta leaves a bit to be desired. Woman at the desk never looked me in the eye. No joy in her voice, no emotion at all. Not sure if she was at the end of her shift or what, but seemed more concerned about what the lady next to her was ordering for dinner.

Budget continues to automatically charge $15 on top of every rental for vehicles returned after being driven less than 75 miles. This is supposedly to cover gas refueling however it’s easy to miss this, particularly when you refill the car. This particular rental this was an electric car that doesn’t take gas.

The rate was outrageously high. They put me in a rental with a flat tire and broken radio. Then tried putting me in a car that was double booked. Then gave me an extra large suv for an insanely high amount. I was so disappointed I will never use them again.

Pick up was absolutely terrible. Almost a two hour wait. Ended up renting after midnight. Asked about discount for not having the car three full days and was told it would be taken off but it wasn’t. The van smelled funny and had multiples scuffs/dents and had a rattling sound.

Never again will I go with Hertz. I called at 11am, to make sure the car would be ready. No answer, I call Scottsdale, they said they will be ready but ton car has been dropped off yet. I call at 113”. No answer. I get to Scottsdale location. No car. It’s now Noon, the rental place is closed. No one is answering, Scottsdale airport starts calling around, no managers will answer. I call customer service. They start YELLING at me!! I was reassured by phone the Friday before my trip and the Saturday before I picked up my car it would be ready no problem. They told me because I wasn’t flying in to the airport on a personal liner, I wouldn’t be able to have a car. I told them it was ridiculous, it shouldn’t matter if I was flying in or driving up, I made these arrangements and spoke with someone who verified it wouldn’t matter and that a car would be there. I ended up calling 6x to customer service as the first 4 hung up on me and one lady told me I’d have to start calling around to other Herrz locations to see if any of them would be willing to help me and accommodate my rental. I called Mesa, Phoenix, Tempe, Glendale and Gilbert. NO ONE PICKED UP THE PHONE. I finally called customer service back and told them cancel everything and that I didn’t want to be charged for canceling as this was not my fault. She told me “I’m sorry to hear that. But it looks like your reservation was lost and they forgot your car. You’ve been cancelled, bye now” and ended the call. I was so upset I was shaking and crying. Unbelievable, never ever again.

Somehow through Expedia, I booked a car 30 miles from the airport. I was charged $220 extra! I don’t know how it ended up that way, but I never would have set it up to take a taxi to my rental car!!!

Car brought around after 45 mins waiting and it was full of garbage bags so had to wait a further 30mins Lady on desk very nice but really frustrated at guys dealing with cars. Also washing cars only last minute when customers are waiting is not good, we were an hour late to pick up vehicle and then it took 2 hours!! Disgraceful organisation

1. The Mitsubishi Outlander smelled cigarette smoke. 2. The car would not start on the last day of rental and had to be towed. Payless Rental did send us a voucher for an Uber ride back to the airport. 3. Despite the Repair Shop confirmed the delivery of the towed rental car on the day of the tow, Payless sent me an alert of not returning the car three days after the tow. I had to call Payless Rental to remind them of the car tow/return and close the rental contract. Not a positive interaction!

Typical rug pull experience with these cheaper brands. Booked the premium, wasn’t even offered the premium option when picking up. When I told the desk worker I actually booked the premium, I got a rehearsed “oh, it won’t be ready for another 45 minutes”. No explanation, no apology, just continued checking out with the base model. Shuttle system is dated and very infrequent. We arrived early but still felt like we should have arrived earlier.

I arrived at midnight to pick up an SUV reserved. I was told that I was late and the had given the SUV to another customer. I required a seven passenger vehicle to transport my family while in Florida. I returned the vehicle three days later and was double charged. Further, I went to the airport and reserved a seven passenger SUV from a competitor without hassle. I would not recommend an offsite vehicle renting company. Wrench you desired vehicle at the airport.

Fox staff were unable to assist in identifying pre-existing damage to the car. The parking lot attendant refused to acknowledge existing damage requiring the renter to return to the upstairs counter to talk to a "manager". The exit gate attendant required a five minute conversation before she would simply initial the damage report form acknowledging existing damage. The check-out process took 40 minutes when it could have taken 10. The check-in process was quick and efficient. The Fox employee was present immediately upon pulling up, confirmed my identity, and quickly processed the return.

Price was competitive. Drop off in another state was a must which Fox allowed. Pickup wasn’t anything amazing. No instructions to check damages. No explanation on how to start the vehicle. Vehicle was dirty. Could barely understand what the front desk guy was saying. Drop off, no thank you offered or pleasant customer service by the intake person. Shuttle driver was helpful, however made it clear to everyone on the bus that he had to work another shift on Christmas because someone else didn’t show up for the shift. He did apologize about being late but really didn’t need to share that extra info. Overall, decent experience. Probably won’t use Fox again.

The price on Fox was much cheaper than the brand names. You worry about the shuttle, but it was no different than the other rental companies. The shuttle picks up and drops off at the same location as the other rental companies. The rental pickup was easy. My only complaint is the hard sell on the fastrak toll service. It only applies to the express lanes, not the normal highway. Stay off the express lanes and don't use the fastrak. Car return was easy.

We had a reservation, but when we arrived, we were told the car was sold out. We were stuck there for about three hours and witnessed them giving a car to someone else. Despite begging and even offering to pay a higher price to get a car, they refused to help. In the end, we had to make a new reservation with another car rental company and ended up paying ten times the original price. Economy is an unreliable and untrustworthy car rental company that completely ruined our vacation in Fort Lauderdale. If I could, I would give them zero stars.

Car wasn’t ready even though we arrived 1.5 hours after our established pick up time. Kept saying it would be only 5-10 minutes longer, due to the car being dirtier than they thought. Confusion between check in agent & the rep that hands customer the keys over; needing additional signatures and logging the VIN & plates after we left the lot. Apparently they require you to take a video of the car before leaving, which we were not told. Confrontational drop off/check in rep because we didn’t have video. Felt very unprofessional & shady, won’t use again.

i did not rent the car from Midway due to the untold mileage restrictions placed upon locals that live in Los Angeles, California. I was informed after waiting more than 1 hour in line that it would be $400.00 holding on a credit card. I absolutely am disappointment in both Kayak and Midway. I will not look at Kayak as a travel search option again, Also, since I did not rent a car at Midway LAX . Kayak please return the insurance coverage back to me.

1. Gas - they will try to get you to prepay for 1/2 a tank of gas for “cheaper” than the going rate. The counter agent said gas was currently averaging $5/gallon. I knew we would t use 1/2 tank and filled up for $2.99 at the Circle K around the corner. Check prices because the Shell station charges more because they are closest to 2. Daily Rate advertised seems more economical but then there are non-descript “fees” so they daily rate is actually more 3. Their counter is not “in-terminal” despite advertising as such. You have to take the sky train to the off site rental counter. 4. The car had been sprayed with water to “wash” it, but the inside windshield was super foggy and so dirty that you could see the swipe marks from an attempt to wipe it down and it impacted visibility. 5. Needed to extend the rental after a change of plans and they were able to accommodate request, which was nice, but charged an extra $50/day to do so.

The worst experience ever. Bait and switch. I should have done more research on them. Beware of the low price. When you get to the ticket counter in some shady industrial area they will force you to buy third party liability insurance and jack up the price.. Third party liability insurance is not required if you have your own insurance. This company is a scam! Kayak should not be promoting them!!!!!

Subject: Misleading Charges from Advantage Car Rental I booked an Advantage rental through KAYAK at $18/day, but at pick-up, Advantage coerced me into paying for unnecessary insurance, falsely claiming it was mandatory. This significantly inflated the charges. Upon review, I found out the coverage was optional. Advantage has extremely low reviews on Yelp for similar deceptive practices, and I urge KAYAK to reconsider listing them to protect customers from scams. Absurd pick-up procedures; bad attitude of the employees; there was not a single customer who did not have problems with the pick-up; they did not care that in my case I have a 10-month-old baby who had to wait more than an hour to be able to do an absurd pick-up; the cars have faults, dents and dirt; the check-out was also terrible, I went to drop off the car and the store was not even open; the police recommended leaving the cars on the street and videos for our backup, it was a disaster I would never go back to rent a car there

This rental site is NOT at the airport - it’s about 10 minutes away at a used car lot. The van reserved was not available at pickup time, and we had to come back later in the day to switch out a 5 seater car for the correct car reserved (7 seater). There was no transportation to the airport after drop off, and we had to secure our own transportation early in the morning in an unfamiliar location. The tank was only half full when we picked up, and an alert for low tire pressure went off during the rental period. The sliding doors tried to close while someone was in their way, and the engine took a long time to turn over whenever we started it. Very unsatisfactory experience.

The insurances were to much. I have an black mastercard that covers all of my insurance but they did not accept it. The want to charge me like three times more than the price of the rental. This was the first time they asked to see a full insurance policy I have, even the insurance card with policy # and expiration date was not sufficient for them. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. This was the absolute worst rental car company I have ever used. Its "office" is not at the rental car hub with all the other companies, but in a long-term parking lot. It took over 30 minutes to get there after you get in the underserviced long-term parking shuttle bus line and waiting to be the last one dropped off after riding around the entire long-term lot. When you finally arrive you enter a filthy shack with only Webcams, tv screens, and an automated lock box holding the keys (no employees on site). One TV was broken from an obviously frustrated prior renter. The biggest kicker is in order to keep the price you booked the car for you must give a $1,000 deposit that will be held for up to 15 business days (i.e. 3 weeks!). Otherwise, you can pay about 40% more than your booked price to only hold $500 for the same amount of time.

I thought I had booked a Nession thru Expedia, however when I got to Nu that stated I had a Chevy. The representative priced this customer to a all wheel larger vehicle. Unfortunately, within the rental industry your hands tied, your a deer w/ headlight staring in your eyes. Nu blames Expedia for giving the customer the wrong information and Expedia blames Nu rental Consumer loses.

There was a hidden $300 fee in order to pick up the car. The only way to pay it is with the credit card used to reserve the car. I was uninformed of this few and did not have the money on my credit card. No alternatives are acceptable, so I was unable to provide the vehicle I had already paid for, leaving me stranded at their office in the middle of the night with no transportation.

I spent over a decade in the armed services overseas, have physically crashed in a helicopter. But the only time in my life where I feared for my physical safety was driving in NU’s spray painted, bald tire death shuttle bus with its screaming wheel bearings, holding up everyone’s falling luggage as we careen 70mph down the instate. Also they lied to me at the check in to up sell me and I was extremely afraid they would lie about previous damages to the car because they came across as a scum level company, adding anxiety for my whole vacation. I also booked a awd car which they cancelled on me then gave me a fwd car. Which wouldn’t be all that bad if they didn’t later try to sell the awd car back to me at 400% my rate.

Customer service was ok even though she would continually stop to be on her cell phone. The quality of the van was horrible. It was dirty inside and out. Windshield had streaks and a film on the inside that we couldn't see through at times in certain light. Sooooo DIRTY!!! And the gas tank was empty. We told customer service and they said there was a gas station just up the street and that we should be ok. They didn't even come out to verify. Which means they knew the condition of the Van. We had to immediately stop, fill up the tank and clean the van windows and seats and run it through the car wash. The van also smelled of marijuana. DISGUSTING! We have never had this kind of experience with any of our rentals with other companies.

This was the worst experience I’ve ever had with a car rental agency. The car alarm repeatedly went off when we tried to open the car with the key. We contacted the company and they refused to bring us a new rental. Their solution was for us to go to an auto parts store to replace fob key on our vacation. Also the blinker did not work. Then the battery went dead and we missed 1 hour of my sister’s wedding reception. Also the communication about shuttle pick up was false causing us to have to walk from car rental depot to get rental. The company also does not answer their phones. Overall horrible experience. Do not use this company!

This was the worst rental car experience I’ve ever had. Their directions were to call a number when ready to be picked up at Atlanta airport. They didn’t answer several calls. After calling a number I found online I talked to someone in California who had difficulty accessing directions. After asking numerous people at airport where the pickup point was we finally were picked up. All this took almost an hour. When we arrived at the lot, we found AVR in a shack that was in a very large lot that was owned/run by Jiffy car rental. We were the only ones waiting for a car and it took over an hour because the lady was unable to get us checked out because she said they were having WiFi problems. Ultimately, I had to go on their website and input all my information again. Rediculous! The return was also time consuming and weird. I had to go to the back of the Jiffy lot, take a picture of the car, and send an email to AVR before they would pick us up. THE WORST! Never again!

None. We Ended up not taking the car and got an Uber because they required excessive insurance. I had actually bought extra insurance at booking time and we have insurance through both our credit card and our car insurance. We rented car so often and never bought extra insurance because of the ones we already have. However, U-save did not accept it. For a one day rental the cost exceeded several Uber trips so we gave up the rental.

No one picked me up at the airport and when I phoned them, nobody spoke English. Finally, I had to phone headquarters and they couldn’t help me. So I called again and was told that they are closed today. This is after I already made my reservation. Don’t waste your money with them. If the price is too good to be true, then it’s because it’s a lousy business.

**BEWARE** I’m not usually a write a review type of person but my experience with them was so bad I had to. So let me start by saying that I am Canadian and took a trip to LA with my wife and we had everything prepared prior to arriving at U-save. When we got there there was a few people in line so they handed us a paper with a clipboard to have everything filled out and ready by the time we got the front of the line. So we did. We did get liability and collision insurance prior to going and even had proof of our U.S insurance but they wouldn’t even look at it and stated it was impossible for us to get insurance because we are Canadian. And then they said it was impossible for us to get a U.S insurance because we didn’t have an American drivers license. They said we HAD to buy their insurance which was conveniently more than the price of the car we were renting. Even our insurance company (who we had on the phone) thought these people were just con artists. Not to mention through all this the manager who happened to be there was extremely rude. Anyways if you go with this company just be prepared to pay much more because they will come up with random charges.

Shuttle from Airport was clean, updated, and driver was courteous Phone number was answered at least ,50 percent of time by agent at the local office Downsides... There was an Extra airport surcharge that was NOT disclosed on the initial pricing for rental. I received email from company, said deposit for car was 250 with major CC, 500 with debit card, and as much as 2000 with FL residence. When requested insurance, stated policy, which was NOT disclosed in email, was that to use own Auto policy, deposit increased to 2000 for rental. Advertised vehicle was Toyota Corolla or similar... Recueved Mitsubishi hatchback... Was minimalist vehicle. On day of dropoff, front desk staff was ALSO shuttle driver, so under staffing for service also an issue.

I liked the low price. I did not like that we had to present our declarations page with our insurance to prove that we had coverage. That was a huge nuisance. Four people in line in front of me did not have the correct documents (because nobody carries those around with them!) and they were on the phone with the insurance companies trying to receive it. I had mine quickly available but the document is so long that it took the receptionist so long to look through it. She couldn't find that I had coverage so I had to pay an additional fee. After looking it over later, I saw that I did have coverage.I just feel like its a dishonest way of getting extra money for the rental.

It was a little confusing to find the right pickup location for the shuttle at the airport. And when we got to the office they didn't show our reservation. So they had to download it in order to find it which took time. Also they had some requirements that wasn't on the original rental info like they required of $500 deductible Insurance in order for us to use our own insurance.

Flight was late. They cxld my non refundable car. They countered with car over twice what I had originally scheduled. I will be giving reviews on every platform I can. I also will be sending letter to the Florida AG. My wife is a flight attendant and we travel quite a bit. We have used kayak numerous times in the past but we are extremely disappointed that kayak is associated with a company like Mex!

I feel scammed. There were no instructions about how to find the rental car facility, no phone number to call, and I could not even find the company on Apple Maps or google so I wasn't willing to uber to a random address that was shown on the reservation (as a woman traveling alone), especially since it was listed as having a shuttle service from the airport. No signs listing the company at the airport or remote rental lot, and no airport employee I asked had ever even heard of the company and therefore could not give me directions. I ended up renting a car through another company and never found the mythical mexrentacar. I would love for someone from Kayak to contact me for a refund on this.
