Very large establishment nicely set amongst trees with good parking. Very large room with air conditioning, and excellent views. Good sized bathroom, balcony and big mini fridge. Pleasant friendly staff. Very good breakfast. Bed was on a wooden base and not very comfortable and shower door was falling apart.
There was on site free parking. The view from the room was beautiful and overlooks the bay. ~The room was large, spacious, clean with balcony, fridge and English speaking tv. The shower leaked horribly. No English speaking staff in the restuarant, very, very frustrating, the staff just bring food and hope you like it, we gave up the second night and walked out. Hotel not on any gps, very hard to find, road name of hotel's address does not exist. The beach within walking distance does not belong to the hotel and cost 26 euros per day for 2 people. Need a car to drive anywhere.
The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The hotel was clean and near the Gulf of Taranta with easy walk to the beach. Parking was available but limited due to the number of weddings and functions at the hotel however one night when we couldn't find a spot in the lot, the staff opened a gate to a garden so that we could park there until morning. A very nice experience.
Hotel fine. Hotel attached to some kind of time share and was a little noisy around the pool (kareoke) in the evenings.
breakfast was good enough (for Italy), Ionic sea is great!! nothing to do in the hotel and it's surroundings in September, area is full of rubbish!!!
pool was fab..beach incredibly clean and cristalline,...staff very flexible to your need...excellent location...will be visiting again...
A wonderful place for a perfect, relaxing holiday! The hotel just recently opened and everything is beautiful and well designed. The pool is fantastic and the hotel is located in a quiet part of Puglia, just minutes from the beach. Also, all major attractions of the region (such as Bari, Taranto, Galipolli, Otranto, Alberobello, Castel del Monte etc.) can easily be reached during a day trip. The friendliness of the owner and all the staff was exceptional and outstanding - the team is truly terrific and wonderful and we'll certainly be back!
I was not aware about petrol, steel, cement industry in Taranto, which is close to the region where hotel Calipso is located. Quality of air and see can be from my point of view negatively affected. Also transfer through Taranto by car is not easy, to busy city.
unfortuanatley nothing was pleasant about our stay at the hotel and our stay in italy the only reason we booked the hotel is that the facilities were what we were after, indoor swimming pool and childrens activities, there were none so hence the young children were extremely bored
The set up No
