Pros: The hotel was excellent value for money and we couldn't of asked for a nicer hotel owner to stay with. We had difficulties getting transport from Toulouse airport so Francoise even picked us up ! The pool area, breakfast and overall amenities were excellent for our weekend away for a friends wedding and we highly recommend here to anyone.
Cons: Everything was excellent so have nothing negative to say for this hotel and its lovely owner.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place is a truly magical place in the countryside east of Toulouse. This is our third time staying here, and I hope to be able to someday write 30th time.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We really appreciated the fabulous dinner on the terrace watching the sun set over a stunning view, which we also overlooked from our very tastefully furnished, extremely comfortable and spotless room ("La Lauragais"). Incredibly diverse, delicious buffet at breakfast. Our hosts, Philippe and Andonis couldn't have been more charming or attentive. VERY highly recommended special place, full of character, in a unique location, for a luxurious stay in a lovely area of countryside - with Toulouse only a short distance away.
Cons: Faultless
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a small privately run hotel and as such has charm and character. Like most similar hotels it may not be perceived as "perfect" by some, for example, the plug in the basin didn't hold water long enough to have a shave, the shower was not thermostatically controlled, etc. but you get to meet and talk with the owners, the people who run the hotel as their business. Here they are very friendly and made us feel so welcome. We ate at the restaurant each of the 3 nights of our stay and the food was excellent. Andonis, one of the owners, is the chef. The wine too was excellent and reasonably priced and Phillipe, the other owner, was very knowledgeable and helped us choose something that suited both us and the meal. Before we visited we contacted the hotel as we had a few preferences when it comes to diet and the meal is a set meal each night. They were quick to reply on each occasion and the menu each night took account of our tastes. We booked this trip away hoping to have a relaxing break with good food, an attractive setting and the option to take some short walks either from the hotel or nearby. We achieved all this and, like many of their previous guests, would love to make a return trip at sometime in the not to distant future.
Cons: There was nothing we disliked.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great hosts! Beautiful century old stone inn filled with books, music, a couple of well behaved dogs and sweeping views of the countryside from every window. Delicious dinners made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients. No, it is not easy to get to, but it was worth it!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent, beautiful, peaceful location overlooking fields and hills. Large room with a enormous bathroom with a stunning view. Friendly, helpful and informative owners. The dinners were some of the best we have ever had i France and we have visited France quite often. The pool area and the garden wonderful, relaxing and peaceful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Every aspect of our stay was wonderful. The hosts are kind and brilliant. Our room made us fantasize about living there forever. The delicious meals certainly helped the fantasy. The surrounding countryside, villages, and towns are full of gentle surprises. We are already planning our next visit.
Cons: Some guests might not appreciate the musical hour after dinner. We could hear it in the distance in our room, and it sounded like people (one with an exceptional voice) were having a very good time.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good selection available including my favourite goat yoghurt and fresh fruit, pastries and excellent bread.
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent

3
9.8 Excellent (51 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Puylaurens, Olinda Bed & Breakfast is within a 15-minute drive of Museum of Wood and Marquetry and Revel Market.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Olinda is a beautiful place with lots of old world character. It is beautifully decorated and has everything you could need. Breakfast was delicious and Amanda was super friendly and helpful. Thank you!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were greeted warmly by Amanda to a gem of a hotel tucked behind a large wooden door of a 17th century house. We walked into a courtyard where you could see the beautiful restoration of the building and once inside attention to detail was second to none. Every aspect had been carefully designed. Our room was deliciously scented, the bed linen of high quality as was the bathroom. The view from the bedroom window over the countryside was lovely. Breakfast was served in the dining room was excellent. Thoroughly recommend it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This propert has been renovated to the highest standard. The views are amazing and our hosts were very friendly. Amanda prepared the most amazing breakfast with fresh compote, delicious coffee and fresh local croissants from the local Boulangerie. Just made the stay magical.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: An easy drive from the airport. Charming and tastefully decorated house and garden. Pretty and spacious room. Really comfy bed!! Lovely owners! The breakfast was delicious too!! I totally want to come back
Cons: Can't really find anything
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host and hostess were lovely and friendly without being intrusive. The whole house was beautiful...stylish and immaculate, with a relaxed atmosphere and stunning views. The bed super comfy. Ensuite was huge and extremely well appointed with fabulous roll-top bath, lots of hot water, fluffy towels and toiletries. Breakfast was delicious and generous.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were looking for an ideal location to start our road trip to Barcelona and Andorra and found Puylaurens in Southern France, about an hour from Toulouse. Next, we had to find accommodation. After trudging through reviews and recommendations we settled on Olinda. We did not know what to expect and were sceptical as it had such great reviews. We flew into Toulouse and drove for about an hour to Olinda. The external façade of the building had a reassuring traditional French look and feel and we could not imagine what awaited us inside. Sumptuously comfortable beds. Lovely, well-proportioned bedrooms, warm hospitality, spotlessly clean rooms and communal areas. I have 2 very fussy kids and a fussy wife! and they all loved Olinda. We will definitely be going back. The stars of Olinda are the family that run it. Jim and Amanda are wonderful and were attentive to all our needs. From recommending locations for us to visit to suggesting scenic routes to take on our road trip. They were amazing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This property is like a boutique hotel, it is absolutely beautiful. I have stayed in many luxury hotels around the world and the Olinda is just as good, if not better than some, as it has been renovated keeping so many original features. I cannot rate it highly enough.
Cons: Nothing, I loved everything about it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our hostess could not have been better. She was attentive, polite, unassuming and produced wonderful homemade products for breakfast each day. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room was stunning. Well appointed, clean and stylish.
Cons: Wish I had know that the hotel does not accept credit card payment. They were gracious and a bank transfer was organised but would have preferred to know in advance.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: James was a great guest and this place is really peaceful, beautiful and clean. Thanks a lot.
Preau Saint-Jacques - Castres - Building
4
9.7 Excellent (62 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Preau Saint-Jacques is in the heart of Castres, within a 5-minute walk of St. Benedict Church and Goya Museum. Featured amenities include multilingual staff, a library, and coffee/tea in a common area.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous host, attentive & welcoming (fluent English speaker too). Excellent combination of coziness, modern reworking of a traditional house. Perfect for a long or short stay. The location is ideal in the old town. Restaurants within 2 minutes, Place Jean Jaurès 4 minutes.
Cons: Impossible to dislike anything here!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Character, space, location, outside space, owner’s care
Cons: Church bells chime all night. Fridge small when shared with another couple. Just a curtain between the en-suite and bedroom. All very minor issues.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a beautiful place to stay. Lovely cottage, great space, with a welcoming stove burning. Very nice breakfast supplied, and we enjoyed being able to have it in our own kitchen at our leisure.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners Eric and Catherine could not have been more friendly and helpful. The property is right in the centre of Castres and the town is interesting and buzzy, but behind the door off the street it is quiet, shady and secluded. The courtyard garden is delightful and we ate outside all the time.
Cons: Parking needs a bit of effort and the property is not easy to find initially in the very narrow streets of the city centre. We got used to it!
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Castres airport is very small, so small that you need to order a taxi as no taxi's are available at the airport.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hidden coach house conversion with roomy lounge, log fire and modern kitchen. Charming couple run it, both extremely helpful. Central location with a short walk to the plaza, bars and restaurants. Excellent shower and bed. We shared the house the first night with other guests and had it to ourselves the second night. Great value.
Cons: Tricky to find, partly as Booking.com map link is actually the wrong street. Fine once you know where it is. Parking can be difficult nearby but we took owners advice and didn't buy a ticket and had no problem! Only downside was the church bells which sound out the hours through the night and disturbed me as a light sleeper. Fresh bread in the morning would be appreciated, rather than the evening before
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent facilities throughly recommend.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location in the mediaeval centre is superb for walking around but not at all convenient for parking. The layout is unusual in that the two bedrooms share a sitting room/kitchen so that unless a party takes both rooms, you will be sharing the kitchen with strangers. The breakfast takes the form of rather basic ingredients left for you to put together yourself. This would not suit everybody. The rooms are extremely stylishly presented. The owners, who live in the adjoining house, were delightful and usefully informative.
Cons: The parking nearby is all on pay and display. The nearest free parking is 10 mins walk away. Because a road was being dug up during our stay, it was difficult to get the car near the door to load suitcases.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: It was a little hard to find, but no problem once called Eric, he was right there to guide us.

Pros: Nathalie, our host was SO lovely. She looked after us really well. Breakfast was exactly what we asked for. The design of the place is beautiful - such tasteful furnishings and really interesting. It is absolutely spotless and I have never had such a big, well appointed bathroom. Truly in the top few places we've ever stayed.

I also always love the L'occitane products in the bathrooms. The food is also excellent, David is great host and an even better chef!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location and views. Michelin star dinner and at altitude all the morning pastries were fluffier in a wonderful way. Beautiful little town to relax in and lovely pizza shops. Super nice hotel staff that were there to make sure you had everything needed and give little extras too. Local products and essential oil shampoo was great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly lovely staff. Superb attention to detail
Cons: Nothing
7.0 Good
Cons: The Place was not up to the standard we had been led to believe. Food and Service could have been a lot better. The Swimming pool was a disgrace.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The decor is a lovely blend of French style, modern fittings and period features. The bedroom and communal space was characterful but fresh and well maintained. A really tricky balance as hotels can easily be generic or too trend focused in their design.
Cons: A few sun loungers around the pool would've been appreciated - but I can understand there's limited space but I think a couple would've fitted.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: No restaurants ‘near’ the property. The restaurant ‘in’ the property excellent.

Pros: Good large bed. Fresh orange juice machine at breakfast.
Cons: Chronically slow lift - not helpful if you have heavy cases as we did. Parking was in a remote underground car park which made dropping off and collecting a vehicle a tedious affair.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We only stayed for one night, on our way home. But the location would be excellent for visiting Albi, Toulouse, Castres .. all beautiful places, and the Montagne Noire. The breakfast was fabulous, with home made jam and a huge choice of fruit, yoghourt and cake, as well as cereals. Delicious coffee too. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer, but we have already formed a plan to come back. The house is gorgeous, as is the garden, and it would be easy to spend a very relaxing week here, at least. Our bedroom was huge and would be a lovely sitting room in poor or chilly weather, but the garden has some lovely places to sit out, and there is a heated terrace in front of the house as well.
Cons: I can't think of anything.

Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We only had breakfast at la Vivarié because we only stayed one night and wanted to spend time downtown in Chartres. We were given a recomendation at the hotel for a restaurant on the river, and we had one of the best meals of our entire vacation.
Cons: A lot of smoking in the driveway and around the entrance.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location, the amazing 17th century building and interior. Very comfortable bed...large room. Amazing food!!!
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful old Manor in lovely area just outside of Castres. Deco Very in keeping with the building. Small enough to feel part somewhere special and away from the crowds. Evening meals a delight just be mindful to let John know of any dislikes as is a set meal, many thanks for not doing beef.
Cons: Always my bug bear, no normal teabags in the room but my fault for not bringing my own. A tiny moan the info in room stated diner at one price and we were charged more and that drinks in moderation were included but we were charged for all. So if this concerns your budget, best check cost in advance.

Pros: The owners were very kind and thoughtful, and I felt very welcome. The property was enclosed and I felt safe. The children could play in the garden safely with other children who were staying at the property. la Jinolie is beautiful and another guest refered to it as paradise; I agree with her. The rooms were immaculate and extremely clean. The owners take great pride in making sure everything is clean and comfortable. I will definitely go back, as everything was perfect. I am also looking forward to seeing the owners again. The children loved the llamas and the lizards. The pool was clean and cleaned daily. There are child safety gates at the pool so little children don't accidentally fall in. I think this is a great idea. The breakfasts are wonderful and the owners make something special every morning to go with the other selection of items. 8.8 Excellent
Pros: Easy secure parking. Lovely staff. Big comfy bed, electric shutters so no light pollution, great air con, very quiet, hardly heard any noise Breakfast was good
Cons: Not too many facilities around - but if you have car, all in 3-7 min driving
7.5 Good
Pros: You expect a certain standard from an Ibis and this place delivered. The staff were really good, helpful (including helping me print 5 boarding passes for our journey home). The lady who ran the restaurant was funny and charming as well as efficient. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean. The buffet breakfast was very good, although nothing hot, apart from toast. We only had dinner one night (see below also!); the choice was limited but there was a meat dish, a pasta dish and a fish dish with buffet starters and sweets. The food was cooked nicely and the portions were generous. Wine was quite competitively priced too.
Cons: A group of 5 of us had travelled for the European Rugby Champions Cup match between Castres and Gloucester. For us, without a car, it was a little out of the city centre but taxis were available when we needed them and the local bus service from outside the hotel to the centre is free (sadly it only runs until approx 7:00 PM). It was a 40 -50 minute walk depending on your level of fitness and alcohol consumed. I was also disappointed that the restaurant didn't open Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays for dinner (although breakfast was always available).
