Pros: The rooms were clean. We had access to a shared kitchen that had ample supplies. It was also very close to all the big things in Myvatn.

Eldá Guesthouse is located in Reykjahlíð, just a few minutes on foot from Lake Myvatn. There is a golf course 2,461 feet from the property. Each room includes a work desk, a wash basin and free WiFi. Bathrooms are shared. At Eldá Guesthouse you will find a garden, a common dining room and a shared kitchen. The area around the lake is known for its volcanic landscape and possibility to see 15 different duck species. Other activities in the area include cycling and hiking. The guest house is about a 50-minute drive from the impressive Dettifoss waterfall. Húsavík village is known for whale-watching and located 34.2 miles away.

Pros:
Cons: Our reservation said breakfast was included but there was no breakfast. This isn't really a bed and breakfast at all. It's more of a hostel-like facility. Shared bathroom had dead flies everywhere.
No one was at reception when we were checking in (in the afternoon, not very early or late). We had to wait quite awhile and eventually they had a long line of people waiting to get checked in.

Pros: The rooms were tidy and spacious (though VERY spartan). Wifi availability worked well.
Cons: The rooms weren't very well appointed: the pillows were awful, there was no extra toilet paper, the shower head was broken and soaked what toilet paper we did have. There was a restaurant attached to the hotel but it was unbelievably awful: it was completely unorganized and the food was practically inedible. We ended up getting a refund for our dinner it was so bad.

Cons: I'm a frequent traveller. Unfortunately I didn't like any aspect of the hotel. Very low quality in all aspect with the price of a 5-star hotel. Bedding of the poorest quality you can ever imagine (or rather you can not imagine!). Worst/simplest bed linens/quilt I've seen in my entire life!! For the price of 2-3 times of other hotels, I thought it must be a joke! Our rate includes a buffet breakfast, however breakfast time starts fairly late. As we need to catch a flight and wouldn't make it, we asked the reception to pack us some breakfast on the go. We got 2 pieces of bread with one super thin ham and cheese and 2 pieces of cucumber in it and were charged as take-away lunch!!! Throughout the reception was cold and didn't give any welcoming
