Hotel Restaurant Erreguina - Saint-Etienne-de-Baigorry - Building
1
9.4 Excellent (478 reviews)
Overview Reviews
When you stay at Hotel Restaurant Erreguina in Banca, you'll be 9 minutes by car from Aldudes Hiking Trail. Planning an event in Banca? This hotel has 409 square feet (38 square meters) of space consisting of conference space and a meeting room. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent customer service, excellent location at an idyllic place (Banca) in the French Pyrenees and outstanding dinner and breakfast at the restaurant. Spacious room with air conditioned, extra large and very comfortable double bed and an amazing bathroom, very cleverly designed with a walking in and spacious shower, a designer basin and a toilet in separate units, which means that they can be used individually.
Cons: Nothing, really. Maybe that it would have been of great help to have a palette or something similar in the room to deal with some flies and that the restaurant could close a bit later. They don't serve dinner after 8:30 PM, but this wasn't a big issue.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: "Erruginia", in Basque, means queen. We definitely felt like a queen here. The owners couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating!!! Dinner (and dessert) each night was excellent. I recommend the Little Darn Trout!!!! Our rooms were five star at the least - so clean and comfortable. The surroundings were wonderful. We came to relax and that was accomplished. The sounds were memorable - the old church chime and the sheep with their bells on the hillside. When in the Basque country, we will ALWAYS stay here!!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A lovely, comfortable hotel in a beautiful setting. We appreciated a spacious room with a lovely balcony view. The friendly staff were most welcoming and accommodating. Having travelled there with another Australian couple to enjoy their wonderful restaurant dinner menu, we were not disappointed. A most enjoyable one night stay, wishing it could have been longer.
Cons: Nothing to dislike.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was perfect for what we were looking for. The rooms were to a very high standard although ceilings a little low due to being in the apex of the roof but this made it querky :-) the bathroom was very spacious and all very high standard. The staff were all very friendly and super helpful. the food in the restaurant was of very good quality and very good value for money. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
Cons: Nothing negative about this hotel at all
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked everything about the property. Beautiful location, clean comfortable room and the proprietors were wonderful. We very much enjoyed the dinner. We arrived on bicycles and were made very welcome.

Pros: Breakfast was simple but good. Everything that was needed. Cappuccino good. Gluten free friend was catered for very well. Owners very helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. Location amazing. Would definitely recommend.
Cons: Wifi was turned off from around 9pm which was when we were hoping to be able to have access to the internet. It would be great to have an information sheet giving the wifi password and also directions for the ‘quick’ way in to town. Maybe also a small map suggesting restaurants, atm’s, pharmacy, supermarket showing directions from Villa Harriet would be fabulous.

Pros: The hotel was spotlessly clean and modern, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was tasty and there was lots of it.
Cons: It was a little out of town but not far enough for this to be an issue for us. The only negative I would say was that we arrived late so it was dark and difficult to see the hotel and entrance.

Pros: The breakfast was great ! However a little far out of town ! No one was there when we arrived I had to phone to let them know we were there !
Cons: Someone at the property to greet us we were walking and were tired Bit far out of town

Cons: not applicable
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was just perfect. We slept in and were late for breakfast but our hostesses were as gracious as can be. It was so quiet and peaceful in the neighbourhood. Great choice for a place to stay.
Cons: My only comment was when we arrived at the Villa Harriet we were asked to phone a local phone number to tell someone we were at their property. We do not have cell phone service in France without WiFi so it meant incurring additional costs. I would go back for sure.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location with a nice quiet walk to town. Helpful host Pierre. Clean, comfortable, modern room.

6.3 Good
Pros: The host and breakfast were amazing.
Cons: Bedroom. Bedside lights were out of reach and difficult to switch on. Bathroom door was ridiculous like something out of a western cowboy film and stiff and creaking. Shower curtain was too long and always wet and surely therefore unhygienic.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Margorie is a treasure. She was welcoming and charming and helpful—and a great cook. The renovations to the old farmhouse reflect taste and a thoughtful, generous use of space. We feel like we made a friend and we’re hoping to come back again soon.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We reserved the room with the balcony. Pictures do not do the view from it justice. It was so nice we went out in the morning and got bread, cheese. cherry jam and wine. Then spent the rest of the day reading and enjoying the views of the countryside. Watching the sheep being brought in and the falcons looking for a meal, a farmer plowing a field, the clouds rolling by.. We loved this place. Marjorie is a most splendid host with excellent recommendations for dinner and a fountain of knowledge. Breakfast was great try a fried egg that is sprinkled with the local red pepper yum and the cheese she gets just down the road. The place is just up the road from a small village there is a sign at the 3 way corner it is in the middle and is white. Or use GPS.

6.3 Good
Pros: The host and breakfast were amazing.

Or use GPS.
Cons: Only stayed 2 days.
