Pros: A very nice, quiet , well preserved historic town. The George Washington was a great Place to stay. It had the old hotel feel. Unlike the many chain hotels everywhere. I always try to find hotels of this sort in places I visit as I am a history fan. Small room as is usual in a hotel of the era built. None of the modern chrome and plastic feel of others. And it was slightly more expensive than staying at a commercial hotel chain. Recommended to anyone staying in that area !!
Winchester's landmark grand hotel, The George Washington Hotel is located in the heart of Winchester's historic district. Built in 1924, the hotel has undergone a complete restoration and is the region's preferred choice for upscale accommodations. The hotel architecture is magnificent and reflects the historic elegance of the past while providing all of todays modern comforts. The hotel features luxurious guest rooms with panoramic views of the historic district, a posh lobby bar, provocative restaurant, indoor spa pool, spa services, meeting rooms, and grand ballroom. Daily Parking Fee is $4.00
Pros: I loved the fact that when I asked about the movie theatre next door they had taken the time to list both the movies and their times in a binder right on the desk.
They also keep a 24hr supply of coffee and cookies which is a nice touch for a late night traveler or someone who has trouble sleeping.
Checkout was effortless.
Cons: If I had to be picky the breakfast didn't look like there was a whole lot of choices to be had but I must admit I flew in and out to grab a coffee.

Pros: location it was just down the street from my daughters'
Cons: to expensive, the phone didn't work, the bath was slippery the walls need painting, the tv was awful
Pros: The standard Hampton Inn breakfast made the start of the day easy. The location just off the interstate and on Route 7 was convenient. Bed was comfortable.
Cons: A/C worked poorly - never got the room down to the desired temperature. TV channel selection was not posted anywhere in the room that we could find, making watching an exercise in clicking.
Pros: The breakfast
Cons: The bed was absolutely terrible as well as the blankets and pillows provided! The bed was very hard and the blankets were very rough. Worst bed I have experienced.
Pros: The breakfast was perhaps the best I've ever had at a Hampton Inn. Very good!
Cons: At first I was given a room with a strong odor of tobacco -- even though it was a supposedly non-smoking room. The second room was fine.
Pros: Just ok
Cons: Hotel needs to up date bedrooms. Terrible Gym... Arrived at 8PM... No parking spaces...had to park 1 block away from hotel..
Pros: It was fine.
Cons: Rooms are not the rooms we have come to expect from Hampton Inns,
Pros: I did not stay at the hotel as I cancelled it because I was put up in a nicer hotel by the company. I could not even change the it to the next day. I will never use priceline again in the future. I already unsubscribed and still get emails as well.

Pros: nice hotel. continental breakfast was a little small
Cons: our room was on the main road, very loud. currently doing work on the hotel and they decided to dump items in the dumpster at 4am when the signs posted said that there would be no construction noise until 8am.
Pros: Excellent location for visiting Shenandoah University. Close to Apple Blossom Mall and other restaurants and stores. Facility and room very clean. Coffee, tea and snacks available all day as well as decent breakfast. Staff is super friendly and helpful.
Cons: Sliding Bathroom door located next to bed...closet was curtained area next to window...
Pros: The room was very quiet and the bed extremely comfortable.
Pros: Close to exit for I-81. Clean, comfortable, safe.
Cons: Just wish it had a restaurant much closer to it.
It is a mile and a half away from the oldtown mall. Although the walk was very enjoyable and we got to see many things we wouldnt beable to see if we drove.
Pros: The breakfast was delightful. the public spaces were very clean. the staff were very friendly and willing to help. and over all very patient.
Cons: There was construction going on outside of the hotel.. they started at 6 am which was not a fun alarm clock to wake up to.
Easy to find great breakfast nice place
Pros: Very comfortable
Pros: Staff and Cleanliness
Cons: Bed was not great ..
Lovely! Clean and comfy, modern, mostly friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast, and in the heart of Winchester. Quiet too. Would go back in a heartbeat. We loved it!
Pros: The facilities and room are wonderful- modern, clean, attractive, comfortable, and convenient. Rashida was a great front desk hostess. I felt at home before I arrived. Breakfast and free snacks were terrific!
Cons: At sign in the front dest took my credit card # in case we made an 'unexpected expenses' . We did not, yet a $20 fee appeared on my credit card balance. When called she assured me it will drop off in 72 business hours (10 days). Not happy about that :-(

Cons: The room had an odor maybe like a wet dog smell
Pros: Loved that it is pet friendly and we werent placed in a lower grade room because we had a pet
Cons: Hard to find someone at front desk
Pros: Excellent value. Relieved at the end of a long day of driving home from family vacation to find a large room with places for all of the baby items. Our child was very pleased, which means we were all happy.
Cons: The freezer of the refrigerator made unusually loud noises the entire night. Would have unplugged it, but needed it for the child's foodstuff.

Cons: Breakfast wasn't included but they did have bar and restaurant on site
Pros: Staff was very friendly she went out of way to please guest
Cons: My reservation included a fridge and microwave. First room did not have one. When I brought my reservation to front desk to question as to whether I should have a fridge she told me I should she immediately put me in a room with a fridge then told me they are doing away with fridges as they are trying to become more business hotel. In the second room we had the fridge but no microwave. The fridge failed to keep drinks cold as it the freezer was never defrosted so the fridge was pointless. I brought the attention to staff and they wanted to move me to another room. I didn't as we unpacked twice already. I will not book another room at this hotel as we had to relocate rooms twice then they were trying to relocate us a third time. This hotel also does not provide local area flyers for food establishments. When ask them about places to eat they would push the hotel restrauant on you and the prices were twice as high in their restrauant
Pros: Room was clean, bed was great, service was friendly and helpful, had complimentary Internet, BUT... The room lacked a mini fridge. Really?
Nestled in the heart of the Alleghany and Blue Ridge Mountains the Courtyard by Marriott Winchester Medical Center resides among the areas famous orchards and Civil War Battlefields and is located adjacent to the Winchester Medical Center, Museum of the Shenandoah Valley and Rock Harbor Golf Course. Just a mile from Historic Old Town Winchester and Shenandoah University, we are strategically located to all Winchester-Frederick County area attractions and business.
Pros: How different it is from all other hotels bow its hip and modern and very updated.
Pros: Very modern hotel design. Modern features like USB chargers, a console with ways to connect your laptop to the TV.
Cons: Room was mostly clean, but the tile in the bathroom floor felt greasy/slick. The pillows were odd, they give you a regular pillow and then a throw pillow and I found this a little difficult to get comfortable.
Pros: The staff was friendly and the rooms were relatively spacious.
Cons: I absolutely dislike that the bathroom door is a sliding partition and there is no fan in it. The walls are relatively thin so if you need to do your business in there you'll be sharing that moment with anyone else in the room.. zero privacy
Pros: The hotel itself was nice
Cons: When we went to check in the desk lady told is oyr card was declined she failed to tell ua that we actually paid for room and that it was our sec deposit was what was declined so we wasted an hour and a half calling credit card company
Pros: Your bartender was so attentive and amazing, her name is Melissa and she deserves it all!
Cons: The cleaning crew kept knocking on the door before
Check out. We had the sign on the door and they knocked three times before check out time.
Pros: Spacious room and bath facilities, very comfortable beds
Cons: Noise seemed to travel from the next room and down the hall.
Cons: Having to leave at check out
Pros: The beds were very comfortable
Cons: Slamming doors in the hallways loud people talking (sounded like an employee's voice) in the hallways first thing in the morning. And slamming doors. The elevators needed cleaning and carpet in the hallway was not vacuumed.
Pros: Qcomfortable bed
Cons: Dirty hallways, lobby, and elevators!
Pros: Affordable, comfy bed, ambience of hotel, decor.
Cons: Breakfast not free and pricey. We ate somewhere else. Got more for the same price. Mostly clean.
Pros: Nice large rooms. Very clean. Excellent complimentary coffee in lobby, very nice house branded shampoo and soaps in large shower. Very modern decor. Good free wifi.
Cons: Towels need softening! On check in, young lady was not very friendly.
No kind of TV guide
Cons: nick the manager and Christopher his boss are the most unprofessional people I have EVER come across in my 13 yrs of sales and public relations. I called regarding a hold on my account that hadn't been removed yet and before I got to inquire I was slammed on hold by Nick. I called back and he acted like there wasn't anything he did wrong and didn't reall care what I was calling for. I took it a level higher and spoke to his joke of a manager Chris who proceeded to get smart with me and tell me "I'm not gonna sit down and tell you how I am going to discipline my employee" so now we are taking it yet another level higher. Poor management skills lead to poor hiring and therefore a poor customer service experience. Fire them both, they are costing you money because we will NEVER stay at the aloft in WINCHESTER VA or ANY aloft hotel or affiliates. there are lots of people out there that would do a better job and both of them should be ashamed of themselves. We always stayed at the Hilton and this was the first time we branched out. NEVER AGAIN.
Aloft Winchester is a great choice for a stay in Winchester. After splashing around at the indoor pool, you can unwind with a drink at the bar/lounge. A fitness center and a terrace are other highlights, and all rooms offer LCD TVs and refrigerators.
Pros: The full kitchens were great, staff very friendly and accommodating. Nice breakfast setup.
Cons: No complaints
Pros: Kristin was very pleasant and extremely helpful! The bed was comfortable.
Cons: Kristin at the front desk was very pleasant and extremely helpful. Josh didn't seem to want to be there, let alone help anyone. He should not work with people or animals! Staff at Sunday's breakfast appeared to be put out, at best. Trash overflowing. Carpet in room was dirty.
Pros: Handicapped room was great tho we are used to a king size bed.
The acceptance of dogs was so sweet.
Staff always ready to help out!
Cons: Just feel with dogs there and handicapped people some automatic doors would sure help.
Pros: Nice beds and bathrooms.
Lots of cooking utensils provided.
Cons: The halls smelled like wet dog. (rooms did not fortunately)
Pros: LOCATION ONLY
Cons: FOOD - RM SERVICE - BED THE WORST
CIG BUTTS AT ENTRANCES - TRASH CANS FULL
BREAKFAST - EMPLOYEES -MANY - EATING SAME TIME
NO BANANAS TILL SUN MORNING
NO CHEERIO'S- BOUGHT OUR OWN
ANTS IN SEATING AREA

Pros: Overall experience was excellent for the value. Well pleased.
Cons: Breakfast area was a little cramped.
Pros: The rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious as well. The continental breakfast was more than we expected. We would definitely stay at this location again. However, I think the night front desk clerks needs a course in customer service She was not friendly at all.

The hotel is directly connected to a Denny's restaurant through a door in the lobby.
Pros: The location right next to Route 81 was particularly convenient. Despite being close to the traffic, our room was very quiet.
Cons: The desk clerk greeting us was not particularly welcoming. He was brusque & seemed irritated. I hope he was just having a bad night and is normally friendly. A smile would have done wonders.
Pros: Very nice clean room, friendly and helpful staff.Great hot breakfast. We will definately stay there again.
Excellent stay. Highly recommend. Although entrance into or exit from faciliaty is somewhat confusing and inconvenient, but not altogether terrible. Close to food, gas and such. Great time..
Pros: Location to major highways, room size, friendly and helpful staff. Free breakfast,LOL!
Cons: Getting into and out of the parking area also exiting onto the major roads. It was difficult/inconvenient to try and enter the hotel coming from the west or south. You had to go down a coulpe of lights and make a U-turn. Perhaps dangerous?

Pros: Quiet location.Very clean and pleasant staff.
Pros: Big room!
Cons: It would be nice to have 2 easy chairs and at least one footstool.
Cons: No complaints.
Definitely not up to Hilton standards. Arrived late. Broken/blocked shower. No staff to repair. Offered to move me to a smoking room (this was at midnight after unpacking etc) and my wife is allergic. Asked for mgr to call me. Called the next day after checkout apologizing. An idiot to say the least. They should have done more.
Cons: Arrived late. Broken/blocked shower. No staff to repair. Offered to move me to a smoking room (this was at midnight after unpacking etc) Asked for mgr to call me. Called the next day after checkout apologizing. They should have done more. Mgr is a moron
Pros: The beds were very comfortable.
Cons: We had an issue with our toilet before we used it. When the front desk was informed and had assured us someone would come fix it, a room cleaner showed up, handed us a plunger and walked away.
Cons: My room was on the second floor right on the corner of the balcony and open lobby so all through the night I heard everyone talking in the lobby talking and it would wake me up.

Motel 6 Winchester VA is located off of I-81 and Route 11. Restaurants are nearby. Renew Fitness Sportsplex is 2 miles and Shenandoah University is 4 miles away. Our modern rooms include micro-fridge units and free Wi-Fi. Truck parking is available.
Pros: The cost and location of the hotel were good. It is right off the highway and near several restaurants and shopping centers.
Cons: The staff were slow and inattentive, and the facilities has shown wear. I have been using this hotel for regular events about 2-3 times a year. The layout of furniture in the rooms is odd. There are no plugs by the bedside tables. The fitness equipment has not been maintained.
This lats trip, the housecleaning staff failed to take out the trash, replace the coffee, and did not replace cups that were used. Additionally, one of the lights actually did not have a light bulb. We called the desk, and they essentially said they were busy, but would try to get to us. After an hour, we went down to the desk to find the staff sitting around doing nothing. We got the cups, a light bulb, and emptied our own trash. We will not be returning to this hotel.. Were have been told that Aloft is a good option and we will try them in the future.
Pros: The location was decent.
Cons: Our "non-smoking" room smelled so badly of stale cigarette smoke and nicotine that we could hardly rest. Add to that the super-chlorinated water (hotels add chlorine to municipal water) and the experience was fairly miserable.
We called the front desk was seemed to know why we were calling even before we explained it, but they said no other rooms were available.
Our room was not cleaned very well after our first day. The coffee service was not replaced, and the old coffee from the day before was left in the machine.
Do not recommend.
Pros: Very welcoming staff and the hotel was good enough and had all we needed. The room was big and comfortable bed with a cleaned bathroom.
Cons: The heating/ac did not work
Pros: Staff was friendly and breakfast good
Cons: The way the pillows are bunched up and stuffed into shortened pillowcases. BW is doing this all over and it makes the pillows too fat and lumpy. I have to loosen every pillow and then shake and pound them to flatten for use. And, they are still lumpy,
Pros: Room was clean and comfortable.
Cons: The bathroom sink was clogged and filled up rather quickly.
Pros: Every thing. The staff was grate

Pros: We love the room because we travel with our dog and the floors are not carpeted so it's much cleaner. The staff is always friendly. We appreciate that plus the fact they don't charge for a pet it's our go to motel when traveling.
Pros: Good value for a one night stay.
Pros: clenliness, easy accesss from the interstate Nice continentel breakfast
Pros: Price point and distance from building I was working out of.
Cons: I had a red chair sitting in the corner of the room that usually goes to a dining table...it was the oddest thing.

Pros: This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed at for the $70 I spent. I requested a smoking room and it was very dirty and stains everywhere on the walls.
I called the front desk to request a room change and someone came to the door within minutes (I assume he was the manager on duty or the owner) he asked me to point out what the problem was and I told him "cleanliness is very important to me in a hotel room'"
He showed me the adjacent room and it was just as bad. He kept telling me, "these are smoking rooms, this is what they look like." I find this extremely unacceptable... every room should be just as clean as the next. Invest in a Mr. Clean magic eraser or SOMETHING!
We finally settled on a non smoking room and I revived no compensation for my time and poor experience. (According to him, he could not refund my $ b/c I used a 3rd party to book the stay.)
Some of the things that I encountered were:
- stains on the bathroom wall & doors.
-toilets didn't flush properly.
- stains on multiple walls and near light switches
- dirty telephones & dirty laminated TV guide paper
- holes in blankets on bed.
- stains on curtains from wall mounted air conditioner
- out dated televisions & furniture (not a huge deal, but it could be addressed)
Pros: Comfortable beds. Fridge and microwave in rooms. Flat screen television. Quiet.
Cons: Bathroom was laughably small. I didn't personally deal with any of the staff, but my father said the guy working behind the counter was kind of hateful.
Pros: There is nothing to like about this hotel. I would not recommend staying here under any circumstances.
Cons: Rooms and hallways had a terrible musty smell. Probably the AC unit in room has never been sanitized.
Woke up at 4 am to a bug crawling on my arm and found two other bugs in the bathroom.

Cons: Room was not clean, pieces of paper and a fork left behind the night stand. Blanket was not clean.
Pros: Easy to find. The AC worked great
Cons: The whole place smelled like cigarettes.
Beds were not very comfortable
The breakfast was very minimal, really nothing of quality and the coffee was bad
There was no fitness center
I had drunk people try to get into my room the 2nd night then more drunk people very very loud a few nights later that woke me up.
Pros: Bathroom was clean.
Cons: A little dirty, both beds had dark brown visable stains on them, blankets were extremely old and dirty looking. Only top portion of all outlets worked having to unplug things just to get a light on, rugs were gross. Only decent part of the room was bathroom which was very clean.

The Super 8 features High Speed Wireless Internet, HBO, Super Start Breakfast. Parking available for small to medium size trucks and trailers, No tractor trailer parking available.
Cons: When we checked into our room, there was trash from the previous guests in the cans, used toiletries still in the shower, and holes and blood stains on the sheets (despite the bed having been made). We were not refunded, compensated, or even allowed to speak to a manager.
Pros: Breakfast was great and the person who checked us in was very funny and kind! The main lobby was very pretty and well set up and decorated. The beds and pillows were very comfortable! Room had a small microwave and fridge as well as a coffe pot. Nice tv, didn't end up using it so I'm not true about the available channels. Over all decent for the price but definitely loser quality than expected. Very convenient and right off the highway and very easy to find!
Cons: The room was old and out dated. The frames of the pictures were broken, taped back together and then taped to the wall. Very poor outlet accessibility. The light in the bathroom had a fan that turned on with it, the fan was busted and made a very loud grinding and squeaking sound. There were burn marks in the carpet, the bathroom only had one bar of soap, not other toiletries. The sheets appear clean but had some small black scuff marks and the pillow cares were not clean, found hair and a stain on one. The ac/heater was not working properly. It would turn on for about 2 minutes then shut off completely I had to get up multiple times to turn it back on until I was too tires to care, it was also very load and irritating but I need it on because the window didn't open at all and it was extremely hot in the room. The door also did not close all the way. Had to push hard to close it and we'll as pull hard to open in. When it was closed there was a pretty large gap along the top and right side. You could push the door and it would wiggle open and closed even with the dead bolt and top lock on. The wifi was absolutely horrible, very poor connectivity and very slow when connected.
Pros: The comfort for the price was a great value! The staff was very attentive and helpful.
Cons: no problems!
Pros: Good impression of exterior and lobby. Liked having a microwave and refrigerator.
Cons: Our room seemed old and out dated..(furniture).
Both mornings, the shower water was cool at best. TV channell selection was just okay.
Pros: The staff was amazing, they really make sure you're as taken care of as possible. The free breakfast was a small selection, but very well executed. The shower never runs out of hot water, and greatly exceeded my expectations.
Cons: The bathroom was kind of small, but still absolutely functional. The bed could be updated to something a little more comfortable, but I still slept like a baby. Also, the tv was outdated, but it worked like a charm nonetheless. Definitely worth your dollar. I would go again in a heartbeat.
