The staff was friendly and the rooms were relatively spacious. I absolutely dislike that the bathroom door is a sliding partition and there is no fan in it. The walls are relatively thin so if you need to do your business in there you'll be sharing that moment with anyone else in the room.. zero privacy
The bedroom, the cool shower, the free coffee, the 24 hour fitness center, the swimming pool, the food area and the trendy atmosphere. The pool was not open past ten o clock. It would be nice if it was open until 11 pm or 12 am.
Qcomfortable bed Dirty hallways, lobby, and elevators!
Feel presentation and functionality location have to cross heavily travelled intersection highway
The hotel itself was nice When we went to check in the desk lady told is oyr card was declined she failed to tell ua that we actually paid for room and that it was our sec deposit was what was declined so we wasted an hour and a half calling credit card company
Everything Having to leave at check out
Moderm nick the manager and Christopher his boss are the most unprofessional people I have EVER come across in my 13 yrs of sales and public relations. I called regarding a hold on my account that hadn't been removed yet and before I got to inquire I was slammed on hold by Nick. I called back and he acted like there wasn't anything he did wrong and didn't reall care what I was calling for. I took it a level higher and spoke to his joke of a manager Chris who proceeded to get smart with me and tell me "I'm not gonna sit down and tell you how I am going to discipline my employee" so now we are taking it yet another level higher. Poor management skills lead to poor hiring and therefore a poor customer service experience. Fire them both, they are costing you money because we will NEVER stay at the aloft in WINCHESTER VA or ANY aloft hotel or affiliates. there are lots of people out there that would do a better job and both of them should be ashamed of themselves. We always stayed at the Hilton and this was the first time we branched out. NEVER AGAIN.
The beds were very comfortable Slamming doors in the hallways loud people talking (sounded like an employee's voice) in the hallways first thing in the morning. And slamming doors. The elevators needed cleaning and carpet in the hallway was not vacuumed.
Your bartender was so attentive and amazing, her name is Melissa and she deserves it all! The cleaning crew kept knocking on the door before Check out. We had the sign on the door and they knocked three times before check out time.
Spacious room and bath facilities, very comfortable beds Noise seemed to travel from the next room and down the hall.
Nice large rooms. Very clean. Excellent complimentary coffee in lobby, very nice house branded shampoo and soaps in large shower. Very modern decor. Good free wifi. Towels need softening! On check in, young lady was not very friendly. No kind of TV guide
Affordable, comfy bed, ambience of hotel, decor. Breakfast not free and pricey. We ate somewhere else. Got more for the same price. Mostly clean.
Great staff! No hassles. New clean environment.
Very clean, spacious room. No continental breakfast. Breakfast bar looked good, but not free.
New hotel very good staff
Restaurant, Bar, Moderness of hotel Did not fin anything
I loved the fact that when I asked about the movie theatre next door they had taken the time to list both the movies and their times in a binder right on the desk. They also keep a 24hr supply of coffee and cookies which is a nice touch for a late night traveler or someone who has trouble sleeping. Checkout was effortless. If I had to be picky the breakfast didn't look like there was a whole lot of choices to be had but I must admit I flew in and out to grab a coffee.
Overall ambience and helpful staff.
A very nice, quiet , well preserved historic town. The George Washington was a great Place to stay. It had the old hotel feel. Unlike the many chain hotels everywhere. I always try to find hotels of this sort in places I visit as I am a history fan. Small room as is usual in a hotel of the era built. None of the modern chrome and plastic feel of others. And it was slightly more expensive than staying at a commercial hotel chain. Recommended to anyone staying in that area !!
Overall experience was excellent for the value. Well pleased. Breakfast area was a little cramped.
The rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious as well. The continental breakfast was more than we expected. We would definitely stay at this location again. However, I think the night front desk clerks needs a course in customer service She was not friendly at all.
Good impression of exterior and lobby. Liked having a microwave and refrigerator. Our room seemed old and out dated..(furniture). Both mornings, the shower water was cool at best. TV channell selection was just okay.
The staff was amazing, they really make sure you're as taken care of as possible. The free breakfast was a small selection, but very well executed. The shower never runs out of hot water, and greatly exceeded my expectations. The bathroom was kind of small, but still absolutely functional. The bed could be updated to something a little more comfortable, but I still slept like a baby. Also, the tv was outdated, but it worked like a charm nonetheless. Definitely worth your dollar. I would go again in a heartbeat.
The comfort for the price was a great value! The staff was very attentive and helpful. no problems!
Breakfast was great and the person who checked us in was very funny and kind! The main lobby was very pretty and well set up and decorated. The beds and pillows were very comfortable! Room had a small microwave and fridge as well as a coffe pot. Nice tv, didn't end up using it so I'm not true about the available channels. Over all decent for the price but definitely loser quality than expected. Very convenient and right off the highway and very easy to find! The room was old and out dated. The frames of the pictures were broken, taped back together and then taped to the wall. Very poor outlet accessibility. The light in the bathroom had a fan that turned on with it, the fan was busted and made a very loud grinding and squeaking sound. There were burn marks in the carpet, the bathroom only had one bar of soap, not other toiletries. The sheets appear clean but had some small black scuff marks and the pillow cares were not clean, found hair and a stain on one. The ac/heater was not working properly. It would turn on for about 2 minutes then shut off completely I had to get up multiple times to turn it back on until I was too tires to care, it was also very load and irritating but I need it on because the window didn't open at all and it was extremely hot in the room. The door also did not close all the way. Had to push hard to close it and we'll as pull hard to open in. When it was closed there was a pretty large gap along the top and right side. You could push the door and it would wiggle open and closed even with the dead bolt and top lock on. The wifi was absolutely horrible, very poor connectivity and very slow when connected.
The only problem we had with this motel was the bed, very low and hard as a rock. Really needs new bedding. Everything else was fine, the desk attendant was very pleasant.
stayed march 2012. room was clean and acceptable. con. breakfast was mediocre, nothing exciting, but can get enough food to eat to get you to Miccy Dees later. Lots of restaurants nearby.
Terrible place to stay. Crib had chipped paint. They used caulking to make bathroom look clean. I would not recommend or stay here again.
Friendly staff. Pet was welcome no extra cost. Adequate continental breakfast. Rooms in good condition, but the corners needed to be vacuumed.(I left them a note and no tip) Have stayed several times and have always had a good experience. Its is convienent to our trip route.
this Red Roof apparently recently had a 're-fresh' and one could tell. Our room was immaculate, smelled fresh and clean, and had nice fixtures and furnishings. Bathtub was nice glazed metal instead of a cheap plastic enclosure, and even had nice granite-like walls in the shower. Everything worked in the room (a King bedroom) and did not feel cramped. Our only advisement to guests is that the beds tend to be on the firm side, and the pillows are thin. This may be fine for back-sleepers, but if you are a side-sleeper, you might find the firmness not that comfortable, and you will definitely want to request a spare pillow. Thankfully, the staff is very pleasant and accommodating.
This was a great value for the money. I was stopping overnight on my way down to North Carolina, so basically, I needed a nice, clean, place to stay. It was right off the interstate and a good sized room and the most important thing to me, clean, clean, clean. And I was amazed, the bed was really, really comfortable, so I slept really well. No 'staff and service' (it's a Red Roof Inn, people) but my reservation was all set, everything was ready for me, and there were no problems at all in the room, so I am more than happy!
The room was clean, free of Oder. The first time we stayed the internet was hard to get in the room but was fine in the dining area where we had breakfast. Continental breakfast was good simple and free. Area was safe feeling and there was lots of places to eat and shop within a half mile of room. I would stay there again. The price was right
This hotel should be removed from the list.. No internet available, mattress and box spring were terrible. Hard as a rock... We would not stay here again....
everything was fine. met my travel needs very helpful and friendly i will come back.
room was clean and the staff was very helpful. Pets were welcome at no extra cost. Will stay again
Room was clean, bed was great, service was friendly and helpful, had complimentary Internet, BUT... The room lacked a mini fridge. Really?
Staff was very friendly she went out of way to please guest My reservation included a fridge and microwave. First room did not have one. When I brought my reservation to front desk to question as to whether I should have a fridge she told me I should she immediately put me in a room with a fridge then told me they are doing away with fridges as they are trying to become more business hotel. In the second room we had the fridge but no microwave. The fridge failed to keep drinks cold as it the freezer was never defrosted so the fridge was pointless. I brought the attention to staff and they wanted to move me to another room. I didn't as we unpacked twice already. I will not book another room at this hotel as we had to relocate rooms twice then they were trying to relocate us a third time. This hotel also does not provide local area flyers for food establishments. When ask them about places to eat they would push the hotel restrauant on you and the prices were twice as high in their restrauant
Large well equipped rooms Nicely decorated Breakfast wasn't included but they did have bar and restaurant on site
Loved that it is pet friendly and we werent placed in a lower grade room because we had a pet Hard to find someone at front desk
Nice options for breakfast The room had an odor maybe like a wet dog smell
Excellent value. Relieved at the end of a long day of driving home from family vacation to find a large room with places for all of the baby items. Our child was very pleased, which means we were all happy. The freezer of the refrigerator made unusually loud noises the entire night. Would have unplugged it, but needed it for the child's foodstuff.
Kristin was very pleasant and extremely helpful! The bed was comfortable. Kristin at the front desk was very pleasant and extremely helpful. Josh didn't seem to want to be there, let alone help anyone. He should not work with people or animals! Staff at Sunday's breakfast appeared to be put out, at best. Trash overflowing. Carpet in room was dirty.
LOCATION ONLY FOOD - RM SERVICE - BED THE WORST CIG BUTTS AT ENTRANCES - TRASH CANS FULL BREAKFAST - EMPLOYEES -MANY - EATING SAME TIME NO BANANAS TILL SUN MORNING NO CHEERIO'S- BOUGHT OUR OWN ANTS IN SEATING AREA
Handicapped room was great tho we are used to a king size bed. The acceptance of dogs was so sweet. Staff always ready to help out! Just feel with dogs there and handicapped people some automatic doors would sure help.
Nice beds and bathrooms. Lots of cooking utensils provided. The halls smelled like wet dog. (rooms did not fortunately)
The full kitchens were great, staff very friendly and accommodating. Nice breakfast setup. No complaints
My room was on the second floor right on the corner of the balcony and open lobby so all through the night I heard everyone talking in the lobby talking and it would wake me up.

I've stayed at many Hilton Garden hotels and all have been great - nice surroundings, excellent room for the money, etc. Would highly recommend for anyone traveling.
Arrived late. Broken/blocked shower. No staff to repair. Offered to move me to a smoking room (this was at midnight after unpacking etc) Asked for mgr to call me. Called the next day after checkout apologizing. They should have done more. Mgr is a moron
The beds were very comfortable. We had an issue with our toilet before we used it. When the front desk was informed and had assured us someone would come fix it, a room cleaner showed up, handed us a plunger and walked away.
Quiet location.Very clean and pleasant staff.
Great breakfast. Somewhat helpful when reservation was wrong. Romm was clean beds very comfortable.
Big room! It would be nice to have 2 easy chairs and at least one footstool.
The suite was spacious and the bed very comfortable. Nice to have a refrigerator and microwave. The breakfast was very generous. At breakfast some people were filling bags with food and others had to wait for a refill. People should be told to take what they want but eat it there. How disgraceful.
Although I only stayed one night, the room was clean, nice shower, nice breakfast, the employees were very polite
The location was great, in the middle of everything. Staff was friendly, greeting everyone as the came and went. Besides was super comfortable. Third floor vending machines out of order. Alot of dust build up on bathroom vent. Air conditioner was a bit loud.

All rooms were just renovated so everything was new and clean. No interesting restaurants near by. Don't like Denny's
Rooms were very good. Loved that it was to connected to a restuarant. Getting off I81 into the hotel was a real pain
The location right next to Route 81 was particularly convenient. Despite being close to the traffic, our room was very quiet. The desk clerk greeting us was not particularly welcoming. He was brusque & seemed irritated. I hope he was just having a bad night and is normally friendly. A smile would have done wonders.
very clean room, helpful staff no place on reservation for pets or handicap
Pool still open. Firm bed was too firm. Pillows were too soft/flat. Check in time of3pm to late to really enjoy the room and pool.
great staff, room, and pool. lovely stay internet connections sketchy.
Great price, great locations and a fabulous breakfast! No
Location to major highways, room size, friendly and helpful staff. Free breakfast,LOL! Getting into and out of the parking area also exiting onto the major roads. It was difficult/inconvenient to try and enter the hotel coming from the west or south. You had to go down a coulpe of lights and make a U-turn. Perhaps dangerous?
The staff was very friendly. The only thing that upset me was that at 8:45 they wouldn't cook anymore saugage. Breakfast was till 9.
Room was clean and well maintained. Only complaint was the double beds seemed very small. Breakfast was great and the staff at breakfast was very friendly and helpful. My niece lives in Winchester and would probably stay here again when we go visit.
Very nice clean room, friendly and helpful staff.Great hot breakfast. We will definately stay there again.
Easy to find. The AC worked great The whole place smelled like cigarettes. Beds were not very comfortable The breakfast was very minimal, really nothing of quality and the coffee was bad There was no fitness center I had drunk people try to get into my room the 2nd night then more drunk people very very loud a few nights later that woke me up.
Bathroom was clean. A little dirty, both beds had dark brown visable stains on them, blankets were extremely old and dirty looking. Only top portion of all outlets worked having to unplug things just to get a light on, rugs were gross. Only decent part of the room was bathroom which was very clean.
Every thing. The staff was grate
The location was decent. Our "non-smoking" room smelled so badly of stale cigarette smoke and nicotine that we could hardly rest. Add to that the super-chlorinated water (hotels add chlorine to municipal water) and the experience was fairly miserable. We called the front desk was seemed to know why we were calling even before we explained it, but they said no other rooms were available. Our room was not cleaned very well after our first day. The coffee service was not replaced, and the old coffee from the day before was left in the machine. Do not recommend.
Very welcoming staff and the hotel was good enough and had all we needed. The room was big and comfortable bed with a cleaned bathroom.
Staff was friendly and breakfast good The way the pillows are bunched up and stuffed into shortened pillowcases. BW is doing this all over and it makes the pillows too fat and lumpy. I have to loosen every pillow and then shake and pound them to flatten for use. And, they are still lumpy,
Room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom sink was clogged and filled up rather quickly.
The heating/ac did not work
There is nothing to like about this hotel. I would not recommend staying here under any circumstances. Rooms and hallways had a terrible musty smell. Probably the AC unit in room has never been sanitized. Woke up at 4 am to a bug crawling on my arm and found two other bugs in the bathroom.
This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed at for the $70 I spent. I requested a smoking room and it was very dirty and stains everywhere on the walls. I called the front desk to request a room change and someone came to the door within minutes (I assume he was the manager on duty or the owner) he asked me to point out what the problem was and I told him "cleanliness is very important to me in a hotel room'" He showed me the adjacent room and it was just as bad. He kept telling me, "these are smoking rooms, this is what they look like." I find this extremely unacceptable... every room should be just as clean as the next. Invest in a Mr. Clean magic eraser or SOMETHING! We finally settled on a non smoking room and I revived no compensation for my time and poor experience. (According to him, he could not refund my $ b/c I used a 3rd party to book the stay.) Some of the things that I encountered were: - stains on the bathroom wall & doors. -toilets didn't flush properly. - stains on multiple walls and near light switches - dirty telephones & dirty laminated TV guide paper - holes in blankets on bed. - stains on curtains from wall mounted air conditioner - out dated televisions & furniture (not a huge deal, but it could be addressed)
Comfortable beds. Fridge and microwave in rooms. Flat screen television. Quiet. Bathroom was laughably small. I didn't personally deal with any of the staff, but my father said the guy working behind the counter was kind of hateful.
