Brigitte and Thierry were perfect hosts at this lovely property nestled in the rolling hills and sugarcane fields of southeast Grand Terre. Beautiful gardens, perfect accommodations with main area open to the outdoors. It was easy to get to other places too, including Bas Terre. I highly recommend hiking in the national park and exploring some of the coves along both shores. If I go back I would return right to La Maison Calebasse.
That the locals couldn’t understand my 7th grade French learned 30+ years ago.
The staff was extraordinarily helpful. The accommodation is in every respect very tastefully designed and carefully maintained.
The location makes it absolutely necessary to have a car.
Roseann was super helpful with information about the area. The villa was awesome for my 2 kids and 2 adults

Design and hospitality
Great room, beautiful grounds / pool, quiet and peaceful. Great meal for the first night, would probably go to grocery right away to have snacks available, but that's easy to do. Good for independent travelers. Easy to go cycling in multiple directions.
A little off the beaten path, which was fine for us but you'd definitely need a car.
