Pros: Michele is a great hostess. Breakfast was lovely- offering us homemade yogurt (it was delicious) and sweet bread. Shower was good in my room. Nice, quiet stay with its own entrance upstairs.
Cons: A friend booked this and didnt realize it was on the far side of town, this added to our walk. It was great to have sheets and breakfast, but I really think the room is overpriced. I thought when I saw it on here that it was going to be about 40€. It was almost twice that. And with conversion rates, it was too much for me.

Pros: Fabulous meal simple but fantastic value and very tasty.very friendly staff
Cons: Two of the three rooms had a strong drain smell
5.8 Okay
Pros: The rooms were acceptable nothing more. The little town was interesting and the country "feel" was good.
Cons: I mad a mistake while booking on line by asking for a "family room" I've been travelling for 3 weeks and am experienced at booking on line so I'm not sure how that happened. When we arrived and the owner saw only two of us he said that we still had to pay for a family suite. He said I booked it that way so I had to pay in full even though we were the only guests. He could have easily assigned us another room. In the morning as we were packing up he actually chased us to make sure we were paying...I replied I will be right there after which he sent his wife to chase after my wife for payment. We would not recommend this place, found it difficult to find and the owner certainly didn't deserve our business.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: very scenic & quite place to stay on your route to the Santiago de compostella. However, we had some difficulty communicating with the host in English, who was near her nineties, so had to use the google translator. Also, the pictures shown as if each room is en-suit, but it wasn't. Great value for money though.
Cons: Some difficulties communicating with the host.
4.3 Okay
Pros: Located out side of St Jean de Pied Porte, no transport available, so reliant on owner for a lift to town & back

Cons: Nothing
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Host rude and unwelcoming on arrival. Air conditioner not working. Beds uncomfortable. No advance warning at time of booking that sheets and towels are an additional cost. As this was the first night of my holiday it was a disappointing start to my holiday.
6.3 Good
Pros: The view from the patio of the hostel was tremendous. The AC worked well as did the WIFI. The man who served us breakfast was very nice but the meal was not great- yogurt, toast and jam, and a bowl of coffee for 5 euros each.
Cons: This hostel is a long way outside of St Jean Pied de Port. We came in from the train station and had to drag our luggage up a cobblestone street and then almost straight uphill to reach it! The room was VERY basic, just a bed with night tables on either side and a bath room with shower where you couldn't control the temperature of the water!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything especially location and views and staff.
Cons: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Loved the host and the view! Location was great for a quick start on the camino as you are already a bit out of town. Beds were comfy and clean. I shared a 4 bed room with a older couple and there was air conditioning and a blanket. It was over 40 degrees when I was there so super hot
Cons: I didn't care for the pilgrim's dinner. I recommend going into town. Our host was lovely but I didn't enjoy the meal of a cold grey viscous melon soup and a slice of tuna loaf(?)... a lot of grey food...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good food and great staff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Welcoming host, the view cannot be beat! Out of town just enough to offer quiet. Visit pilgrims office, stores, and take your dinner with you from town as there is a bit of a hill climb to get here and you won't want to go backwards into town.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful spot, wonderful host, clean rooms and air conditioning in hot summer!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly, helpful and very clean.
Cons: Would have been good if we could hired towels and offered a little extra for breakfast.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location and scenery
Cons: Patrons a little too busy to help us . No dinner as a group had book the entire kitchen and long way back to town!

Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful. A very comfortable stay at Gite Antton. Lovely clean and hot showers! Right on the Napoléon route on Camino which was perfect. Meal was good.
Cons: We opted for breakfast morning of first walking day and I wouldn’t bother with that as there is Orisson just 6 km up the road with better options. Would also not bother with sandwich for the road which was below average effort.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed there during our pilgrimage. The location was good, a very quiet place! The rooms (we had a double room) and bathrooms (shared) were plain but clean. The ambience is great, the house has a lot of little details, the garden looked fab (although we couldn´t use it, since the weather was bad). The hosts were very nice and welcoming. They serve a pilgrim dinner and breakfast (starting at 7 am). We can recommend the accommodation and would choose it again!
Cons: Don´t ask for any special menu (due to ethical reasons, allergies etc.), they´re not very flexible (not to say annoyed) with that. But there are plenty of options in the village for dining!

Pros: Great location on the main old pedestrian street in Saint Jean-Pied-de-Port. Lovely view from second floor windows. Watched pilgrims walking below us. Clean and comfortable en suite room. Very good breakfast with hard boiled egg, cheese, yogurt, apple compote and home made bread and jam. Friendly owners.

Pros: Alain provided a warm and friendly welcome. The hostel enjoys a central location on the Rue de la a Citadelle close to the Camino office and to the Citadelle (excellent views over St Jean Pied de Port). I did not select breakfast as I was departing early. I did see the breakfast spread and it was impressive. The layout of the shared bathrooms is smart.

Pros: Apart from the location and the rooms being fantastic, the staff were terrific in helping me have my backpack sent to them a month earlier, they stored it and had it waiting in the room when I arrived. They have a key box system which means we could arrive whenever and not have a problem getting into the room.

Cons: Expensive for the basic services provided
5.5 Okay
Pros: The location was good. We had 2 rooms. The room in the annex was very good, clean and comfortable.
Cons: We had 2 rooms. In the room in the main house the bunk bed was broken such that one of our party had no choice but to sleep on the mattress on the floor. This was the only hotel on our trip that did not provide toiletries.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was fine and room was very clean. Staff were friendly.
Cons: Staff person we spoke to did not know when baggage transportation would need our luggage downstairs. That seemed strange due to the number of people who hike the Camino. Since we had no idea we were late getting it to the transport people who were annoyed. It's 8 am if you need to know.
7.0 Good
Pros: perfect location, short walk to restaurants and bars. spacious studio which is perfect if staying for a few nights quiet location
Cons: If only staying for one night the studio is not necessary, ie kitchenette not used. therefore a better value room would be a standard one. It was unclear how to gain access to the room key. An email was sent on the day but as we were not accessing emails on holiday, we didn't see it until our confusing arrival.

Pros: Hands down Eric is the best host! He is funny, helpful, and kindly allowed us to extend our booking while waiting for a package to arrive. The location is absolutely perfect, close to many restaurants and bakeries, and right near the stunning bridge. It’s also right next to the start of the Camino! The hostel itself is in a beautiful old building. I highly recommend staying here for two nights, giving you a day to explore the stunning town before departing. Definitely get the breakfast before your Camino!
