Pros: Absolutely charming place : from the first minute you arrived you feel like another guust but as very welcomed friends. The owners make you feel you are very special and treat you accordingly . The historical building surrounded with green garden is absolutely beautiful! Each small detail in decoration , each personal touch give you a wonderful feeling of comfort and pleasure to be a guest in this special place. The owners make all efforts to provide the guest with maximum comfort . Patrick gave us a lot of recommendation about the places to visit around and even for the next part of our trip including detailed maps and tips for visiting some not overcrowded places around. He has knowledge about lot of thing and it was such a pleasure to chat with him. Raphael is outstanding chef and it is must to have a dinner cooked by him ! Also a breakfast was very tasty and served perfectly ! We was lucky to celebrate our anniversary with them and it was amazing experience ! The only things we are sorry about : we had to leave after only two night . The place and owners make you desire to be back ! Absolutely recommended !

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This wonderful mansion house is set amongst a luscious green back drop, with rolling hills covered in large impressive trees, a wonderful lake and a waterfall which offers peace and tranquility. Inside the property the original charm oozes from the moment you enter, with three equally beautiful rooms all offering their own style. The suite has an impressive four poster bed and originally decorated bathroom. Patrick is the most attentive and enthusiastic host, he offers so much knowledge and warmth. Raphael is an exceptional chef and his passion and flair is demonstrated on the plate in an abundance, truly delicious food. The pool is clean and fresh and a great way to spend a lazy afternoon. We look forward to returning next year!
Cons: A very minor comment, but perhaps a tea making or coffee facility could be provided in the room or communally. Having said that, the hosts were more than happy to make a hot beverage when asked which was very kind.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quite simply one of the best hotel / guesthouse experiences we have ever had. We have been lucky enough to stay in some of the best hotels in the world but this one exceeded my expectations more than any other. If you’re like me and you endlessly look for the best hotel in a region for your stay, just book this and save lots of time safe in the knowledge your stay will be exceptional. The house is beautiful, the grounds are lovely and tranquil, the pool is incredible (mini fridge nearby for your beers / soft drinks) and the food is carefully curated for the guests (my wife is vegan and her needs were kindly met). All in all, just simply a fantastic experience. Thank you Raphael and Patrick for looking after us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Patrick and Raphael were some of the most exceptional, gracious and helpful hosts we have experienced in over 40 years of travel in Europe and N. America. Operationally, they run a very efficient and well detailed business but it is in their true personal interest and attention to guests enjoyment that puts them over the top. Kip and Mary Ann Travis
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Oh my! Oh my! The pictures clearly did not do this amazing property justice. The house was amazingly beautiful, the hosts incredibly gracious, the food to die for - the rooms, bathrooms and furnishings the best we've ever seen. The grounds are spacious, and inviting. If you're lucky enough to secure a reservation at this lovely property, consider yourselves privileged! But wait, there's more!! If given the opportunity, DO NOT MISS OUT on having the host prepare an amazing gourmet dinner for you (for an additional fee). He's a well-trained chef who enjoys preparing a meal fit for a king and queen.
Cons: We should have stayed longer!!!!!

Pros: We had a family room, which was adjacent to the main house. It had a loft upstairs with a nice big bed, and ground floor with a sofa bed, bath room, toilet, and closet. Everything was very clean and decoration is super cute. Having the closet was very nice because we are a family with two kids, meaning a lot of stuff. The garden was large and beautiful. The best part was the hosts who were super nice, kind, friendly, and helpful. You could see that they really want you to enjoy the stay there, and we sure did!

8.8 Excellent
Pros: This is a charming chateau truly out of the rat race. We really enjoyed 5 days of pool relaxing and some outstanding dining experiences near the chateau. Bill and Gwen are both lovely and made us feel very at home and welcome. Not to mention 3 of the friendliest cats around!! We are honestly recharged and distressed after staying here and do recommend it. Everything is tastefully put together with boulles, board games and a well stocked honesty bar.
Cons: Pity the restaurant no longer caters for meals other than breakfast, but there are great options a short drive away. The mobile signal is rubbish and free WiFi not that great... but that was part of the off the grid relaxing vibe and we didn’t see it as a negative.

Pros: Sophie and Dominic are both lovely people, and it was a real pleasure to spend time in their company. The food is excellent and the accommodation clean and comfortable. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: During my stay at B&B Au Bord du Monde I've got to know the owners of this lovely place as the nicest and warmest persons in France I've ever met. I arrived late in the evening what was no problem at all and was invited to join the late dinner with the family after a warm welcome. After dinner we shared stories together and I was invited by Sophie to join her morning walk for the next day through the forest with her 2 dogs that she and Dominique adopted after they were neglected by their previous owners. The energy, enthusiasm and joy of life that the two dogs showed when walking through the forest represents to me what Dominique and Sophie are all about as persons; nice and caring people who love to share their place. If you stay near Villars in France, a stay at B&B Au Bord du Monde is a must in my opinion.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked the warm welcome for us and our dog. We loved the quiet location and beautiful view from the terrace. Our room was lovely with its exposed beams and its bathroom with a walk-in shower. The food was delicious and well presented.
Cons: A bit hard to find. Although the address is St Romain-et-St Clement the hotel is at Lieu-Dit Bigeau (which our sat nav wouldn't accept). It is nearer to St Clement. But we got there eventually!
6.3 Good
Pros: The setting was beautiful and remote. It was very quiet.
Cons: If you book for the swimming pool, check that it is working - it was closed when we were there at the end of May in 30 degree heat. Staff not overly pleased to have guests so we didn't feel hugely welcome. Pictures look better than reality. This is probably my fault, but the property was a lot further from Saint Jean de Cole than we had thought. It would have taken 50 minutes to walk, so we couldn't pop out in the evening to enjoy a few drinks.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, lovely gardens and pool, rooms cool and beautifully presented.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely setting. Peaceful and tranquil. Really nice room. Ideal for travelling with a dog as we had outside access and if needed the facilities for disabled clients were good. Enjoyed eating on the terrace with great views. Gluten free diet well catered for. Excellent breakfast. Very friendly new owners. I would visit again and recommend it for a stay either overnight or to explore the area.
Cons: There was no one to greet us on arrival which was a little disconcerting especially as it was quite difficult to find and were beginning tothink we should look elsewhere as it was nearly five pm.. Eventually a helpful girl let us in to our room. It would have been nice to have the pool open as a swim would have been great after a long journey. I know it's an English thing but tea/coffee making facilities would be a bonus - again a drink available after a long journey would be welcome. They are new owners so I hope these comments are useful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was great - simple, but very high quality food. The cheeses are made on the property, and the figs were also clearly picked fresh from their garden every day. I also liked the typical french country house style of the breakfast area. The surroundings are very quiet and you have a beautiful view over wood- and grassland from the veranda, where you can have a romantic dinner.
7.0 Good
Pros: The setting was very remote and rustic. It is a lovely place to stop for a night
Cons: The breakfast was a labour for them to provide and was not up to much when they finally did put it on.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Food was lovely - authentic, seasonal, local and cooked with care and flair. Lovely people who coped well with our limited French! Needless to say, the wine was superb. Location was peaceful - we should have made more time to walk or just soak up the peace & quiet on the terrace. We look forward to a return visit!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We arrived late ( pre. notified ) but warmly welcomed. Room very comfy and clean. Breakfast was delicious with local cheeses ( made by farmer next door , how local is that ! ) and cured meats with croissants and good coffee. Highly recommended
