Just a one night stop over for myself with wife clare and three children secure car parking good location. We enjoyed the swiming pool after 12 hours on the road, very good meal good value would use this hotel again
Nice hotel with "personal and historical atmosphere". Very good restaurant. Breakfast walk to Jean d'Arc tower to be emphasised Soundproofing btw rooms and corridor could have been better
Wonderful, quaint small hotel. Incredible food. Friendly staff, and did I mention the food......wow Well, our room while clean and neat, was a bit shabby. But we Americans seem to like everything new. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, or to stay there again.
The staff were very freindly and the food in the restaurant superb. The rooms were comfortable but lacked air conditioning which made them very warm.
Convenient location in town centre. Pleasant bar area. Large, clean and comfortable room. Very quiet at night
friendly and helpful
Small but lovely warm swimmimg pool.
We stayed here en route to, and then again on the way back from, a trip down to the South West French coast and we loved it! The room was more than big and comfortable enough for my wife and I and our two kids, in fact it was more like a suite! And at €88 euro's for the whole family you can't beat it really. Lovely little village, full of character, all very friendly and cosy and welcoming personal service, we would definately go back. Pool wasn't open when we were there but we weren't that bothered. Was a bit more of a detour from the motorway than we expected but it was well worth a 15 minute drive it to stay somewhere quiet with a bit of character rather than a chain hotel by the side of the motorway. Restaurant looked very nice but was a bit pricey for our stopover budget so we found a nice little place across the road and it was nice to get out and explore the village a bit anyway.
very pleasant and helpful staff, and an attractive building set within a small town
Friendliness of the proprietors they were welcoming and keen to help Hardness of the mattress
Excellent personal service No
Excellent food, very pleasant room for the price. Having to give them my credit card number. I dislike this system, much open to abuse.
We were very happy with our room-the staff were friendly and efficient and the food was good no
Friendly hostess/waitress. Easy parking. Quiet location. Tea/coffee making facility with good variety of drinks. Separate w.c. and bathroom. Good for overnight stop. Comfortable beds, plenty of bedding. Very small twin room, narrow beds. Bathroom door could not open fully. Very disappointed with meal after the rave reviews. Chef was on holiday and it showed. We got defrosted commercially frozen starters. Same commercial sauce served with first and second course. Ridiculously tiny portions of vegetables (Dessertspoon of duchesse potato - again frozen) One very small dessert, the other one was a much larger tarte which was good. Would only recommend or return if we knew chef/owner was going to be present. TV didn't work on English channel.
Very clean room with ample space. Not only did the bells at the very close church ring every hour all through the night, But they rang twice! Once at around 5mins past the hour and then again a few minutes later! So loud it was impossible to sleep through. Not suitable for anyone who needs to be alert enough to drive long distances the next day.
We had a three bed room - very comfortable and clean. Tea and coffee plus biscuits in room. Restaurant is also good value and food is excellent. Breakfast is an additional payment, but reasonable.
The hotel is very comfortable and the restaurant is excellent
The owners were extremely friendly and the dinner was excellent Nothng
It's a lovely homely place to stay with excellent food and service
No Wi-Fi. It is far away from restaurants and facilities and charged quite a lot for such location. We spent more than an hour to find a place to eat. The hotel restaurant is very expensive and not operating on Sunday evening.
Great ambience, lovely decor, peaceful surroundings No control over other guests - had to complain at 2.15 a.m. about a very noisy party going on in the lounge directly below.
The hotel was rececently renovated and rooms/decor attractive. Staff friendly and accomodating.Restaurant is really superb- an experience not to be missed. Very pleased overall - would return if in the area again No room service - not good for a 4 star hotel
What can I say? it s a castle right out of a fairy tale. I can't wait to go back..
Despite our bad experience with the room, the settings of the castle are beautiful and quiet, although a little far off from the Loire castles. Expect to drive at least 1 hour to most of the castles. There is a fancy and expensive "restaurant gastronomique" and a brasserie, where you can eat on the terrace for very reasonable prices. For breakfast, we had to beg a bit to get a coffee and a croissant in the brasserie but we got it; the other option is to pay 20 Euros for a not very remarkable breakfast buffet. Bathrooms were much better than the rooms. Careful - some of the Classic Rooms in the Castle (2nd floor, e.g. 203) are clearly substandard for a 4 star- and with prices on this site lower than the regular price - guess who gets them. We had a tiny little room with an even tinier bullseye window that opened only half way and should have been replaced years back. Result: No air, 29 degrees Celsius in the room at midnight with the window open, while outside it was a fresh night around 18 degrees. We slept very little, and had to fight to be moved into another room for the remaining 2 nights. Second room was OK. Still, for a 4 star place, I would have expected the castle to be much better renovated and much cleaner, like others we've seen in France. A bit shabby in some details.
Beautiful setting and reception staff were lovely. Restuarant over priced and too fussy, we eat out a lot but this is way over the top. Waiter also very stuffy and quite rude at times
I have nothing to say ; all was brilliant ; I hope I'll come back sometime
Not interested in golf this trip, but liked the surroundings The "Chateau" was not quite up to the pictures on the Internet.
We had a lovely stay in the hotel. It is really beautiful and the staff is excellent. The hotel is expensive and the rooms are nice, but not for that money. We had a promotion, so for us it was fine.
The room was lovely - beams and old furniture. Beautifully decorated. Good size ensuite. Our evening meal was in their magical Garden and really delicious and beautifully presented.. Can't find a fault with the hotel at all.
the hotel was in a good position for us as we were travelling south. everything in and about the hotel was superb and we had a great overnight break. the food was excellent and very freindly staff
Excellent cuisine, pleasant and attentive staff, comfortable and quiet rooms. We were able to bring our two dogs with us.
The hotel was a very pleasant stop on the journey to the coast: the staff were welcoming and my room spacious and comfortable. It was good to have car-parking in the hotel grounds. The dinner was excellent I found the stairs to my room on the top floor very steep; it was difficult to carry a suitcase up/down on my own.
We liked everything about our stay here!! The comfort, the beauty of the rooms, the excellent breakfast, the fabulous dinner, the wonderful owner/chef.
We received a good welcome and weer upgraded. Lovely room and very secure parking. Dinner was delicious. The furnishings of the hotel delightful.
The staff phone within 5 minutes of booking to confirm our stay & followed up with a further call on the day of arrival. The bedding was clean. Were not aware when booking that there were no restuarant facilities at the hotel on the Sunday and there was no where to eat in the village! Having travelled for 8 hrs did not want to have to travel 8klms to a restaurant. The overall appearance of the hotel was tired and shabby. There were no tea & coffee making facilites.
We stayed here twice, on our outward and return journeys. The demi pension with breakfast and evening meal included was excellent.
Comfort, good food and wine ,easy access, welcoming staff at a reasonable price.
We thought that the hotel was excellent and the proprieter was very charming and accommodating. When he saw that my partner had difficulty walking he immediatley changed our room to a ground floor one. We would definately stay there again. No bad points at all.
clean, nice, comfortable. No fuss. We didn't eat in the Resturant, but where told by family living in the area that it is a great place to dine.
Nice and friendly no
Very nice typicallly french hotel in the centre of a small town with excellent food
Comfortable room and bed. Nowhere obvious to buy drinks through the day. No table service offered for drinks when sat at a table outside. Slow table service in restaurant and high prices (although the food was very good).
It was very clean and the staff were friendly. Both the stay and breakfast were good value for money. It was well situated near the main route but in a small and quiet village.
Very good and warm reception, excellent family rooms! The location was very good, just 5 km of the highway and very rural and calm. The service in the restaurant was not that good.
Food was very enjoyable.location good for getting into city of Tours and also heading out to visit castles. Madam a little eccentric a litle tired and in need of some cash injection
The owner was very helpful and friendly and the location was good. View from bedroom window excellent. Our room on the third floor was very tired and quite small - paint peeling off window sills, bathroom musty etc.
