Great beach, good rooms, though a bit small Room size was a bit small, otherwise very nice
Clean and relaxed atmosphere. Clean rooms although towards the small size. Good breakfast buffet. Nice beach and proximity to the airport and port. Polite staff (although in the pool bar a little bit noisy and not "fast")
near the town of Pythagorio, on a beautifull beach, with direct connection in a clear sea, excellent gardens , bungalows designed like local types of houses the bath at the hotel is very very small and difficult to use, the beds at the hotel were all double (no twins), there was no stand for the baggages, there was no baywatch nor at the beach nor at the pool, for the money we were paying for the room the beach-chairs should be free
The Doryssa is in a great location, beach, town etc. great pool, and bar, property is beautiful. the buffet meals were very nice, huge breakfasts and dinner. The room service and lunch menu were also very nice. The ocean view rooms were fabulous! I missed having a stocked mini bar, but there was a refrigerator, so you could buy water etc. I also would have liked to have a menu for dinner instead of the buffet however the buffet was very nice.
Excellent hotel with very good value for money - staff is really helpfull
Exceptional service, great facilities, 15-minute walk to Pythagorion Bath facilities
Everything exept that it is a little bit strange how the cost for food, drinks and soft drinks can be so much higher in price comperd to good resturants in the city. It was a little bit unsure about beachtowels. One day it was changed at our room. The following days it was not changed. We did not know if there was any "code" of how we chould do to get new baechtowels changed at the room.
All rooms are facing the bay with a cute balcony and that you have an excellent ocean view. Breakfast.
Very friendly hotel,we had delightful balcony close to the waters edge, easy 3 min walk to good beach and 12 mins from town. lovely outdoor terrace for breakfast. As experienced kiwi travellers we really enjoyed our stay here.
We loved our stay at the Mirini Hotel, and would go back in a heartbeat. It is a small family-run hotel, and the proprietors are delightful. The rooms are impeccably clean, and the decor is very comfortable and authentic. Views from the balconies, looking out over the bay, are absolutely beautiful. Breakfast on the terrace was delightful. The hotel was an easy walk up the hill from the ferry docks, and just meters from the town beach. Absolutely no complaints.
I liked the location of the hotel and its terrasse with beautiful view, the friendliness of the owner and the staff who were very helpful also for giving advices on what to see on the island and where to go for dinner. And their suggestions were good. The rooms are clean , but a bit small. Wifi worked very well even in the room. It's a good solution for the price.
Lovely view from the balacony and has a traditional exterior The debit/credit card machine would not work so they had to come to Samos town with us to wait for a cash withdrawal. They were going to look into this problem and were very apologetic. I always prefer to pay by card for ease and security etc. I expect they will address this problem!
Unbelievably helpful and supportive staff -- really bend over backwards for you.
Location fantastic, great views of the port and ocean in Samos, short walk to the town of Vathy and port, the people that own the place are very friendly and accommodating
A very friendly staff, helping with anything needed. A real pleasure.
friendly staff, swimming pool, good location, good breakfast we had to go home to australia
The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The view from the room. It is not in the best location because it is a bit out of town and up quite a steep hill. However I knew this before going from previous reviews and did not mind too much.
staff, location, the view from the balcony breakfast
the service was very good and the room comfortable
The only good thing was the location of the hotel which is close to the town of Samos and it has nice view if you have sea view which they charge extra. First of all the breakfast was very poor and it was only one person who was serving and cleaning. The TV in my room didn't have any reception and when I complaint they told me that they will send somebody to fix it but no one came after five days that I stayed. They have only one PC for internet and they charge 2 euros per hour. The furniture and the bathroom of my room was quite old.
If you are looking for a peaceful stay at a beautiful location, then this hotel is perfect! It's close proximity to the ferry port, town facilities, and the car rental office made it very practical, and the fact that it is nestled on the hill in a quiet neighborhood with a view looking over the Aegean made it very relaxing. The hotel staff was helpful and the rooms spacious and clean.
Nice location and view. Good pool. Helpful receptionist Twin beds for a married couple was a bit disappointing.Food was pretty poor
Classy hotel, with warm, hospitable atmosphere, spacious, comfy and tastefully decorated rooms with great balcony view, nice pool and excellant sunbeds and pool bar. It's a hotel where you really enjoy your stay, with very good value for money. Though the bathroom was also spacious, the shower was small and the water was spilling all over the place. Generally showers and taps are in need of renovation. The balcony chairs in our room were heavy, clumsy and noisy (some other rooms had better ones). Also beware that there is no lift and you have to climb quite a few stairs to reach some of the rooms with view.
very polite staff
Very helpful staff. Very cute hotel, nice location with a beautiful view. Some parts of the hotel though would need some renovation. The newer part of the hotel seemed very nice. But in all a nice family hotel, situable for all kinds of turists. A renovation in some parts would make the hotel more atractive.
We enjoyed our stay here. The buffet breakfast and dinner was good. The rooms were a bit small but there was an outside balcony with a nice view of the sea. They could have had a shuttle service to Vathi town. Either you had to take a taxi or walk. We walked!
Good place. Short and pleasant walk into town, nice beach out front, friendly staff, clean rooms. Full breakfast. No wifi in the room, but not a huge problem.
The hotel sites directly on a beach, the beach is rocky (smooth rocks) not sandy, you have to pay 6 euro for a set (2) lawn chairs with table and unmbrella, the water was clear and blue. There is a cafe right at the entrance, that serves wonderful greek dishes and alcohol and staff is friendly.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Beautiful views of bay and beach from room. Quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Easy access to shopping and port.
The seaview from the balcony was wonderful
Enjoyed my 2 day stay. Very clean hotel with easy access to beach
The view of the bay/beach. The room was old and yucky, there was no toilet paper in the bathroom (which stank) and one of the girls behind reception desk was rude and unhelpful. The two other staff members we encountered were fine (nice and friendly).
Very nice view! Nice room with beds that were ok. The staff were very nice and helpful. Good service! Short way to the beach. Nice prices at the restaurant.
I liked the balcony with oceanview and the privacy of the little bay on the dead end street with hardly any traffic.
clean sheets every day, air conditioning, next to beach, bar area buffet dinners - hot metal trays of food were not heated underneath so were cold very quickly
Quiet for rest The furniture is so old
The warm welcome The hotel and the rooms need to be refurbished, the description and the pictures on Booking.com site are not in accordance with that we have found
Air conditioning unit worked well. The room size was reasonable and we had a lovely balcony. We didnt have hot water one evening.
Quiet, very helpfull recetion, clean in the center and near the sea. What els can you ask for?
A roof over our heads. This certainly not a three star hotel as advertised. Even though rooms were acceptably clean, AC was poor. Breakfast was poor.
Friendly owner managers, close to town centre and port Breakfast rather limited - no fruit or fruit juice, no fresh toast
Only the location, which was near the main street and port. The hotel staff were rude, like we were an inconvenience. The room was poor quality and the price was ridiculous for the condition of the hotel and service provided.
The welcome from the manager, Harry. He served us a cold drink and visited with us on the patio while our luggage was delivered to our room. He recommended restaurants, reconfirmed our flight, and called a taxi to take us to the airport.
It is very clean. My Room had a nice porch overlooking the entrance yard. Staff superfriendly. They recommended an excellent restaurant nearby. Has wi fi.
Manager/owner very helpful andconsiderate. Hotel suits mature travellers and is central. no complaints at all
We stayed there for just 1 night as a stepping stone to Mykonos. This hotel is very close to the pier with good privicy. The only thing is that this close distance to the pier require us to walk uphill with our luggage for about 100meters. But I think this hotel is one of the closest to the pier and can be reached very fast because you only go down hill.. haha...
the beach and the bar was very nice
The shuttle service by caring and friendly staff The slope was steep to get from the room to the dining area.
Not up to the expectations advertised on the web, especially the sea view bungalow. We barely had a view, and did not have the balcony of the photos. When we expressed our contempt, the reception team were helpful, but the person who was supposed to tend to our problem did not even call back. Nothing was done to adress our claim, it was apparent they did not care. The price versus room quality & service was not fair.
The gourmet restaurant.
I liked the location: it is magical. I also liked stuff- they were very friendly and helpful. I did not like the food offered in the hotel: both breakfast and dinner were very poor in terms of quality. I also did not like the facilities and infrastructure, which is outdated. The hotel needs renovation; eg beds are old and extremely firm; aircondition machines seriously old. Value for money is poor: they either need to improve the facilities and food or reduce the price
It's location in the hills, the view over Kokkari, the quiet and clean garden. Everything is a pleasure voor the eyes. The food is excellent. The friendly staff speaks English. Free internetacces in the lobby. We rented a car, but the hotel provides transportation by minibus to the nearest beaches.
The friendness of the staff. The grass by the pool needed to be mowed. We were there for 6 days and it was never mowed. The weeds were 4-5" high. The hotel was not responsive to emails when inquiring about individual rooms with views. We were on our honeymoon and ended up with two twin beds pushed together.
Comfortable, relaxed environment, with great view over Kokkari
This is a lovely place with a delightful family running it. We had as requested room with beautiful view of sea & mountains.I had trouble booking the Samos ferry from Piraeus & the staff made phone calls & sent me info on the flight alternatives. They really made you feel they cared for you. not a thing
The view of Samos bay Not as advertised re: non smoking. In fact, it reeked of tobacco and the staff smoked while cleaning rooms. The staff did not want to get it about secondary smoke. The breakfast was mediocre. The location is inconvenient. I only stayed one night because of health concerns over the smoking in the hotel.
Aggeliki's care and personal attention was phenomenal! Her knowledge of the island and professionalism was beyond description!...Her narratives and wonderful stories could only be matched by her father's (Mr. Yiannis) love for history, folklore, and Greek mythology, with both sociological and geopolitical extentions. Mrs Virginia, and her other daughter Photeini (Lucid) were very sweet as well. The whole family stayed up late (even past midnight) in order to better serve our needs, something which they did not out of obligation, but out of love and passion for what they do! The family assembled once more to see us live and wish us all the best for wherever the fair winds of the Aegean sea might take us...Our experience was authentic! The service at Virginia hotel in Samos is flawless!!! Everything was perfect!!! It is very rare to find such exceptional Greek hospitality!
The staff was fantastic. It was an excellent value and we would stay there again.
I really liked the hotel and its location; it was an easy 10 minute walk into town. It was located in a quiet place and really enjoyed the refreshing swim in the pool. The hotel is run efficiently, very clean but the staff out front does not appear overly welcoming or friendly, but that may just be due to uncertainty with the English language or just the Greek way. We were really pleased with having chosen this hotel.
Helpfulness of staff with advice and in arranging temporary accommodation at this hotel and another adjacent hotel at the last night of our intended stay. Our original and confirmed booking through Booking.com had not been accepted by the hotel (hotel does not accept the credit card nominated) and they were unable to contact us to advise. Steps within the rooms. Outlook from one room directly onto the street.
Simple, clean and comfortable. The bathroom modern and functional, fully ceramic tiled for a neat and clean appearance. The hotel is difficult to find the first time. Without the help of a very kind local who took us to the hotel, we would have had difficulty finding it.
The friendly, personal touch to everything. The owners & housekeeping staff treated you as if you were part of their extended family. Not applicable.
The staff were very accommodating and even made breakfast available for us early. They were very friendly. The pool and atmosphere were excellent for our family. It was an easy walk to the port for site seeing and has upmarket ambience. Use a taxi for arrival as it is near the top of a hill and a challenge with luggage. Our driver was very helpful in getting us there.
great view and that s all some of the stuff was very rude, the breakfast was very poor and low quality, I ate lunch which it was very bad coocked, in fact I didn t ate it!!! nowhere to park my car....in general lower than expectations ... I definetely don t recomend it.
We stayed two nights at Odysseas and we didn't want to leave. The room was very clean and from our balcony we watched the sunset over the bay each night. The hotel grounds were well kept and each morning we sat on the patio and were treated to an enormous breakfast for 8 euros. The family that runs the hotel was so welcoming and helpful during our stay. Samos overall was beautiful and had some of the friendliest people in the Agean.
Room was nice. Friendly manager, but did not speak English. Access to Internet free and nice large screen TV in lobby Breakfast was very sparse, no wi-fi
The very frıendly staff and the free use of makıng up tea and coffee when you felt lıke ıt.
The location of the hotel was good as it was near to the port, yet in a quiet location with a lovely view from the bedroom. Friendly and helpful staff. I wish we'd been warned about mosquitoes. We slept with the bedroom door open and were badly bitten! The room was very well equipped but rather cramped as it was dominated by a large double bed which made access to the cupboards and opening the balcony door difficult.
The hotel is right near the bus terminal on the island, so if you plan to move around by bus rather than rent a car this is a great location. The hotel is very open and easy going. You can use the kitchen at will and at anytime. The caretakers live on the top floor and the lady who makes the breakfast is sweet, speaks no english but is kind, friendly and helpful for your needs. A short walk to town center and port is good too. The room is comfortable a clean. There is a small balcony in the room, but no real view. The area is quiet and just a short distance from the noise of the town center No view of the water in a place on an island where the water views are wonderful. No real beach nearby, so if you plan to swim, find a hotel on the beach or with a pool. This place is clean and comfortable and a good value for the money.
It was like being guest of a Greek family! Not a five star but Dimitri and his family went out of his way to make us feel like it was a 6 star! None
Friendly staff, very helpful, hotel located very near all facilities, restaurants, port etc. Parking and wi-fi available. no problems...
Staff is helpful, hotel is very near to city centre and also the bus station, internet facility is convenient Tv in the room, but no english channels.
I very well run individual hotel un the centre of Samos Town. The proprietor was very helpful. I had and injured ankle and he dealt with my luggage and took me to the ferry. I would recommend stying there. no
Location is really far away from port. Need to walk for over 15 mins with luggage.
Very nice home style atmosphere, helpful personnel, communicative and attentive.
beautiful location. A lot of thought has gone into the setting out of this hotel. Wonderful staff. Excellent decor. Alot of little nooks and craneys to explore! Amazing water. All the cigarette smoke. I know Europeans are still big smokers, but a smoke free zone at eating areas would be much appreciated. Also suggest the ability to buy or hire snorkelling gear or just goggles
An enchanting and peaceful hideaway with natural surroundings and a beckoning turquoise sea.
Location of the hotel, scenery and nature. Exactly the same breakfast every morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Beautifully situated; ecellent service; kind people One needs a car to visit the island. Car hire by the hotel is relatively cheap.
Beautiful location and views
