Service was excellent. Staff is very friendly and responsive to all needs.
No refrigerator in the rooms.
Complimentary daily coffee and bottle of water, WiFi worked perfect and the attention of the the staff was sublime.
Location was great... restrooms were clean. Had a great business feel to it.
The TV kept freezing and I would have to restart it. The TV was laggy. Maybe because of the WiFi or the tv itself
Super clean, friendly staff
Everything
Nothing
Very nice and accommodating staff.
The lobby is beautiful and very current in it’s styling. The staff was wonderful, very quick to respond and extremely helpful. I absolutely loved how dog friendly the hotel is and how, compared to other comparable hotels, the one time charge was surprisingly low. It was lovely to be able to bring our two small dogs on our vacation.
The air conditioning seemed to be rather old and was positioned in the far left corner of the room in the wall. There was only one vent and only went down to 65°. Although that seems low, it felt more like 69° or 70°. For such a small room the air-conditioning still didn’t seem to do the job well. As far as the location it was suitably placed around areas of interest such as restaurants and bars. But it was also adjacent to a courthouse and jail. Although I did not feel unsafe in the least, it did mean we heard sirens all throughout the day and night. I think it would help to have double pained windows to minimize the noise. When seeing pictures online one of the biggest reasons we decided to book the hotel was the rooftop bar and restaurant. As our vacation was to celebrate my 34th birthday, we thought that that might be a great place to have a nice dinner. Unfortunately, we stayed at a time when they had odd hours and were not open much of the time we stayed which was disappointing. The parking was outrageous at $48 a night.
Great value and location
The location was great downtown and close to many things. The price was great as well.
I didn’t like that I had to call for housekeeping after being gone all day. They either forgot my room or got backed up really bad but never notified me. Also my tub kept dripping and light was burned out in the room.
Quick Stay
The stay was great. From pulling up to pulling away. Staff is friendly and genuine. Room is quaint, yet stylish. Room service is quick to serve. Nothing easier than having everything go perfect.
The room was clean and comfortable but very small. If was very noisy each morning and due to the location there are homeless people everywhere. The smell of urine is prevalent on the streets as you walk around and are constantly accosted for money. The roof top bar is very expensive and in need of a remodel. This is an extremely over priced hotel in a poor location that would be average at half the price.
Renaissance Nightmare!
The room was absolutely nothing special, a motel quality at best. There was no refrigerator, but they did provide a six ounce bottle of their brand water for two guest. We also had leaky shower faucet, I supposed designed for ambient noises to help us sleep. We paid $340 a night for the room, however internet was not included and upon arriving, discovered the parking described on the website, would cost us $47 per night. The city view described from our room, was a very tall adjacent building.
San Diego! Great city, but research your hotel carefully. There are lots of nonsense outfits like The Renaissance waiting to take your money for garbage service!
Great location, not so well managed
Great view of downtown SD skyline
The service was sub-par. Since they don't have electrical kettles in the room, we ordered some hot water for tea. After 30 minutes and several more phone calls, nothing showed up, even the operator told us she called house keeping several times. We had to give up and find a cafe nearby. The room was not as clean as the Sheraton we stayed at previous night. There are old coffee stains on the carpet, rust marks in the shower. The hot water actually ran out when I took a shower, first time ever at a 4-star hotel. The front desk wasn't that helpful either, keep referring to a printout when asked for recommendations, not exactly concierge level of knowledge of the city as one would expect at a nice hotel.
The ambiance was very nice!
The parking was very expensive 45.00 a day.
