Pros: Terida is great place for either the inbound or outbound night at Juan Santamaria Aiport. They rooms are great, reasonable price, Adriana and Darren the owners are awesome and it is just near the airport!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Adriana and Darren were very helpful, provided an excellent breakfast and made arrangements for a cab to take me to the airport. The accommodations were comfortable, clean and attractive. Just what I needed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super convenient and very close to the airport. Very clean and comfortable with a little courtyard in the middle to hang out in and enjoy meals.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: So close to the airport but so idyllic: beautiful garden, excellent hosts, delicious home cooked food, taxi sorted by owner. Brilliant.
Cons: Everything was fine.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Welcoming host and the room was perfect! Great attention to detail overall. Great shower and super comfortable beds!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My husband and I spent both our first and last nights in Costa Rica at Terida, since we arrived late in the evening and left early in the morning. Darren and Adrianna are fantastic hosts who did a lot to help us with our travel plans, especially on the way home by arranging a fast and affordable ride to the airport. The breakfast was also good, and I'm sure the dinner is as well (we didn't have the chance to try it). The rooms themselves are spacious, updated, and spotless - a great deal for the price. The property is very pretty, a calm oasis just a few minutes away from SJO. Yes, you'll hear some jets overhead and maybe street noise, but we slept very soundly with excellent A/C and comfortable beds. The neighborhood can be pretty busy if you're driving in like we did, so it's easy to miss the nondescript driveway which, behind a secure gate, leads to the property. Other than that, the location is great and perfect for spending the night within easy access of the airport. Overall, we were very happy to stay here and would gladly do so again. Thank you Darren and Adrianna for helping make our trip a great one!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Darren and Adriana are wonderful hosts! They answered every question we had and took care of our every need. I would highly recommend eating dinner and breakfast at the B & B. Adriana serves professional meals at a more than reasonable cost. I've never had rice and beans as delicious as I've had there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to the airport, great staff, only stayed one night but they couldn’t do enough for me!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Ideal place to start or end your vacation in Costa Rica as it's so super-close and convenient to the airport. Also, the hosts are extremely friendly and responsive and will help and assist in any way possible, which was great for us as it was our first trip to the country. The rooms are simple but there's a nice green courtyard to sit outside in the evening and have breakfast in the morning. The breakfast btw was really good too.
Cons: Everything was great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Adriana and Darren were helpful and welcoming. Adriana prepared us a delicious dinner and the to go breakfast saved us from over paying dearly at the airport. A small but charming place to stay that is very, very close to the airport. We will return.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: What a beautiful property! The room was very spacious and the bathroom was very large and had a great vibe. From the late check in to the early shuttle ride to the airport, the staff was very accomodating. They even kept the kitchen open so we could grab a bite after our long journey to get there. I wish we could have stayed longer. The next time I return to Costa Rica, I hope to be able to stay at this great property.

Pros: Modern and spacious suite with comfortable bed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet, close to the airport, free pick up from the airport, eating in possible(restaurant), garden with many trees and the pool, clean spacious room with the kitchen
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was perfect and staff were friendly. It felt like a clean and secure place to stay with my kids. The grounds are filled with fruit trees and immaculately maintained.
Cons: The shower tended to flood out into the bathroom but that was a minor concern. The water was hot and everything was updated.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was friendly and helpful when we asked for some oil, salt and pepper (though I think that should be provided as a matter of standard if a kitchen is included in the room).
Cons: We were given a very dark room on the ground floor. Feeling like staying in a basement. Basically impossible to use the terrace which was covered by a tree. The pool was very cold. Only in the confirmation email is there information that the airport shuttle only starts running at 6 - info should be provided upfront on booking.com. However, they arranged for us for a free transfer at 5 am.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The beds were comfortable. Rooms are nicely designed to feel like you are at home.
Cons: The jacuzzi in the bathroom didnt work. The food was not as good as the first time I stayed.
7.0 Good
Pros: The room was adequate, just what we needed for the night before departure to the States. It was clean and worked exactly as we had hoped. We would stay there again.
Cons: Not much. We didn't expect a luxury resort type of hotel, so we weren't disappointed. It was minimal, but it worked.

Pros: The gardens, the view, the fire pit, the donkeys. Ramiro was super helpful.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: I am writing a review for the Superior Double Room although originally i booked the suite. The room was comfortable, big, had everything we needed. It was not a suite as we wanted but a great value for money, and wonderful staff! really the best :-) helped us a lot! Very close to Poas volcano,a must see!
Cons: The suite is literally a spider horror house...Above all it is so dangerous,to have so many spiders in the room everywhere! I really wanted the suite, but the many spiders+moldy smell wasn't for us. It was our luck the hotel wasn't full and they helped us a lot by changing the room, but it would be another story if we had nowhere to go... I hope that they took care of the spider problem and no one will get bitten there.

Cons: I wasn't a huge fan of the area outside of the compound, but it wasn't a huge negative. It actually added to the experience.

Pros: Airport Costa Rica bnb was the perfecr place to finish off our trip to Costa Rica! The room was clean and bright, our last gallo pinto breakfast was delicious, and we loved the quiet neighborhood and front room of our little casita with its huge windows. 8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very close to the airport, big apartment, quiet neighborhood
Cons: Shower mat could be cleaner
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful B&B in an equally beautiful gated community. Spotlessly clean and everything seemed brand new. The owner/manager was wonderful--very welcoming and accommodating to our difficult schedule, which involved two very early mornings. I was concerned about needing a taxi at 3:45am on our second morning in order to catch our plane and the owner/manager not only arranged the taxi for us but got up to make sure that there were no problems. The B&B is in a residential community so we didn't have easy access on foot to restaurants but we ate wonderful dinners in the room both nights thanks to Uber Eats which was extremely easy to use and convenient. This is the fourth time we have stayed overnight near SJO and Airport Costa Rica B&B was by far the best airport hotel experience we've had. This will be our go-to spot from now on when we fly in and out of SJO!
Cons: Nothing---everything was wonderful!
6.8 Good
Pros: Nice room. Safe area. No time for breakfast. Owner answered all my questions and let my son borrow a soccer ball to play with on the soccer field across from the room.
Cons: We were there at the time of the town fiestas which meant a lot of loud music from the surrounding area. Not in the owners control but I would have stayed somewhere else had I known.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: I stayed one night on arrival in CR. it was close to the airport,$10 taxi. Bus stop is close and much cheaper but you have to know where you're going. The owner was so friendly and helpful and paid such attention to detail, e.g. a six plug universal plugboard on the bedside table. As I only eat fruit for breakfast she advised me not to pay her for breakfast but to go to the central market and buy my own as it would be cheaper. I would stay again.
Cons: no windows to the outside in my room as it was an internal room. It's a personal thing.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The host was very nice, professional and easily accessible. Great communication. She helped us get a taxi at 3am to get to the airport.

Cons: Not a lot
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly, quiet, delicious breakfast. A place that knows how to handle people regularly leaving at odd hours to go to the airport ($5 taxi, 5-10 minute ride). You'll get a delicious breakfast even if you have to leave at 5 am! They really make a point to stress being mindful of the other people there regarding noise. Several excellent restaurants nearby.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: A huge comfortable bed and excellent breakfast. The host gave good advice on getting around and activities..
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I can highly recommend the Hospedaje la Anita! I only stayed there for one night before going to Ica/Huacachina (The Bus Station of Cruz del Sur is just a 5-10 Minutes walk away!). They were very welcoming and helped me out in some difficulties and gave me a lot of Information about Peru! The room was very nice and everything looked new and was clean! Thank you very much!

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location near city center, Allajuela, was perfect for dental appointments with Dr. Randall Morera Soto. Easy walk to restaurants and the central park and cathedral.
Cons: The apartment was cute. We asked for the first floor, but they normally put their bookings on the second floor. The bed was worn out on one side. Vicky changed it out but it still was not very comfortable.

Cons: Place should have a safe in every room.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Close from the airport , very clean and the bed were comfy . The staff was really nice ! I would recommande this place as a good place to stay before taking your flight home or to avoid San Jose at your arrival !
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, spacious, secure parking, interesting area/churches, handy location for airport and restaurants and ice cream stores
Cons: Loud street noise
7.5 Good
Pros: Room was very clean, bright, with tasteful decor, super comfy bed and beautiful cotton sheets. Extra bonus was the lovely reading nook outside our room. Staff were excellent, friendly, always available and very helpful - especially with arranging cab rides for us (with excellent, prompt drivers and fare rates).
Cons: The one disappointment - but a big one - was the shower: water went cold very quickly and shower head wasn’t working properly so water only came out the lower faucet (for washing feet). Water pressure was also poor sometimes. If it weren’t for the these problems I would have rated our stay 5-star.

Pros: Most comfortable bed/pillow I’ve ever had at a hostel and super close to the airport

Pros: What isn’t there to like? The place was amazing. Totally felt like family, beds were soft, and the WiFi was great. I highly, highly recommend that you stay here when visiting the San José area. The owners are some of the nicest people you’ll ever met and are totally accommodating.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice bed, very clean and lovely people.
6.8 Good
Pros: It was clean. The staff were friendly. Very close to airport.
Cons: There were no windows in the rooms. Just an opening in the wall. It was dark. The place is very odd layout wise and there is no garden, just a small patch of green inside the building, which has half of the roof open. Also the lady charged me extra due to a late flight, which seemed unfair, especially as I wasn't even at the property whilst I was waiting for it. And it was noisy due to construction but that wasn't the properties fault.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The ladies who own/operate this home are absolutely gorgeous! The place is super clean and safe, and the sisters will help you with anything you need. I looo forward to going back!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The owner was awesome and very helpful. We were looking for a hotel near the airport as our flight was very early in the morning. It absultely satisfied our expectations, it was a beautiful and cosy place, with space for having a bottle of wine in the evening, comfy beds and pillows and everything very clean! When talking with the owner about taking an Uber in the morning and paying with cash (our card didn't work with Uber), she even gave us 1000 colones (something as 1.5 USD) as we didn't have enough local change and this was exactly the amount we needed :))))… She was really sweet, we would definitely stay there again! Pura vida!
Cons: Everything was absolutely fine
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was amazing and so caring.
Cons: No parking.

Pros: The grounds were absolutely beautiful...from the manicured tropical gardens to the spectacular waterfalls. The view from our room was stunning. It overlooked the valley far below. 10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly people Wonderfull breakfast
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Amazing 'resort' type setting, very relaxed, pool was great as well as the trail walks to the waterfalls. Good food (a little pricey). The staff could not have been more helpful. It's a little trek from the airport/any amenities but worth it for a final relaxation of a holiday or the first sample of CR. Will
Cons: There is very little outside the hotel doors (without a major walk on a dodgy road or paying for a taxi) so you are restrained to the hotel grounds. Hefty uphill trek to the restaurant!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Grounds are gorgeous, staff friendly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was super. Close to the airport but felt like a long way away. Fabulous vibe and feel, like a retreat. We all enjoyed the many walks and wildlife. Food was good, staff excellent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was A+, the value was insane, the restaurant's view was amazing, pricing very affordable, etc
Cons: The only thing that bothered me was the many barking dogs right outside our villa, and an alarm that went off in the middle of the night! Thank god we brought a sound machine:)

Pros: The breakfasts were delicious, beautifully plated, with a variety of choices. The covered, but open air seating area for breakfast created the perfect ambience for our first few days in Costa Rica. We also had dinner one night which Laurie, the owner prepared. It was gourmet! She also went out of her way to make sure everything about our stay was perfect, y arranging a tour and also taxis when we needed them. Her housekeeper, Miriam, was also wonderful and always smiling.
Cons: We liked everything.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Laurie is a fantastic and caring hostess. She goes out of her way to be helpful... She even arranged a rental car for us at a better rate then we could find online. She arranged a ride for my son, who came in a few days after us, to meet us at Carara National Park. Oh, and her place is convenient to the airport and a very nice place to stay as well. You can't go wrong staying here if your plans require a place near the airport upon arrival or departure or if you're staying in the San Jose area.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Laurie goes out of his way to be helpful and is a pleasure to deal with! Would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Pros: It was a great pleasure to spend a day with Mrs Laurie, Myriam, Penny the cat, the 4 dogs and the parrot. Very nice accommodation and place and you feel at home. I enjoyed so much that Mrs Laurie sat in our company to have breakfast all together. The breakfast was rich and varied.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Laurie, Victor and Miriam literally welcomed us to Cariari B &B with open arms, so arriving there was like coming home. Cariari B &B is conveniently near the airport but with very little noise.p and all of the amenities. We'd had a tiring trip getting there so we requested Quesadillas for dinner, which were amazing and stacked with chicken, tomatoes and avocados. Miriam also fixed a number of extras along with dessert. We returned on the last night of our trip and had a wonderful Sea bass dinner with many side dishes and dessert. The breakfast was unbelievable...too many wonderful foods and fruits to mention and they even catered to our daughter's Celiac needs. All meals as well as wine or beer were at very reasonable prices and lovely when we were so tired and didn’t want to go out. We had six year old twin boys (picky eaters) and they were treated like kings. They loved Penny The dog and Chloe the cat. Laurie's house is lovely with wonderful sitting area plus an upper outside deck for drinks. Our rooms during both stays were terrific with great bathrooms. We were so sorry to have to leave too early for breakfast our last morning but Miriam kindly got up to serve us banana bread, gluten-free bagels and coffee to go. Laurie was wonderful in adavance of our visit as well as when we were there, arranging great drivers to and from the airport, as well as for our traveling all over Costa Rica. She's a gem and someone you have to meet...and experience! She's a former actress and a natural born hostess, as well as being my new “best friend”. Also a bonus of staying there is meeting other interesting guests. Staying at Cariari B & B is a true pleasure and we'd return in a minute.
Cons: We liked everything except having to leave too early for another of Miriam's fabulous breakfast!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: very nice homestay. delicous omlette for breakfast
Cons: room and bathroom already a bit old

Pros: This was our first trip to Costa Rica and had no idea what we should expect. We selected this hotel due to its location, being close to University for Peace. We were so pleased with our decision! The owners and staff took every step possible to make certain we were comfortable, listening to our comments and attending to our every want without us needing to even ask. Perhaps most noticeable was how CLEAN the property was. I have stayed in higher priced national chains that were not cared for so well! Every area that I visited was spotless: our rooms, the salon, patio, walkways, and pool area! Finally, their breakfast was incredible, highlighting local cuisine. Kudos to the owners for providing their guests such high level of comfort, cleanliness, and care!

This is one of the few places I have ever bothered to leave written comments for, but it is a real gem and I want to spread the word.

Pros: The ambiance at Villa Margarita was exactly what we hoped for to kick off our trip to Costa Rica. It felt like the beginning of our natural jungle adventure, but within 20 minutes of the airport! Margarita arranged a very helpful taxi driver for us, then helped us get dinner when we arrived (around 7:30pm or so) and they have breakfast included. We enjoyed the next morning relaxing in the hammock, reading and exploring the property. My girls loved all the dogs, especially Matilda aka ‘monster’! She was a bit off putting at first jumping like crazy, but as soon as she calmed down, she became their new best friend. They were so sad to leave her and the other pups!

Clear instructions on how to get to her place via taxi and she also had her husband take us back to the airport on the day of our arrival. Her family were there and we had a wonderful time with them. Many of her children are fluent in English. Is out of the way but we enjoyed experiencing being more apart of the local community.
