room with view on the lake, great terrass/balcony, easy access to the lake (you can swim), restaurant on site
Large balcony overlooking Lake Bolsena with electronic shutters. Smart, clean marble reception area. Buffet breakfast room carpeted and cosy. My twin bed was uncomfortable probably too well used.
View is stunning. (if you have a room overlooking the lake) The Airco is turned off at night, and they charge extra if you want it on. In the summer it gets very hot and humid, so or pay-up, or have a sweaty night!
It was on lake and very quiet and peaceful. Staff very pleasant and rooms very clean and well serviced. When we booked we were told is was possible to have evening meal in hotel. We subsequently were mailed to explain there would be no meals available. This was not very satisfactory as we did not want to cancel at that late stage.
The hotel was well maintained and clean Restaurant was shut, air conditioning was rationed and it was much further from the town than expected
The hotel was beautiful. Eating on the terrace beside the lake and sitting on the pretty little beach had a dreamlike quality. Our room was small but comfortable with a large balcony/terrace looking out onto the gardens and the green, peaceful countryside beyond. The historic town of Bolsena nearby was delightful.Altogether it was an idyllic few days. It would have been nice to have a comfortable indoor seating area in which to relax, especially if the weather was cold.
the view from room and the location. so peaseful and wonderful.the staff and in particular Marco, were extremely helpful and welcomming. Make the balcony - door, to open from the outside. So that you don't lock yourself out. As happened with us.
The location was excellent. The bacony of the room added to the luxury. Having booked the hotel for family we checked before their arrival and the receptionist was very welcoming and showed us the rooms, which we were very impressed with. So much so I wanted to change my other childens bookings which were at another hotel in Bolsena (1 week) but this was not possible. I have a home here in Italy and family and friends regular come out to see us and are looking for good accommodation. Yes, The children only stayed I night. We met them for an eveing drink and the receptionist was very unwelcoming and unhelpful, not knowing what white wine you could offer! We decided not to stay and went out for the evening. The next morning we went to collect them and asked if we could have a cup of coffee. Not a problem. When the children checked out the very unfriendly girl then charged extra for orange juice (2). 2 of the five guests had breakfast (hopefully orange juice would be included) I other guest had an orange juice and croissant. But the receptionist insisted that an additional 2 other guests had orange juices (when infact they were still in their rooms and checked out from their rooms as we left. We are unhappy guests!
Nice place by the lake. Nice view. Nice village Bolsena. Bad to park in Bolsena, the holel got a parking. If you go there ask for a room with a view to the lake.In summer hounds of mosquitoes.Buenas vistas.Buen hotel.Desayuno frente al lago.Pedir hab vistas al lago.En verano mosquitos.El pueblo bien.Very relaxing place.Muy relajante. You have to pay for the air condition from 23,00 hrs til morning, the rest of the day was for free.
Excellent breakfast with the best croissants we had in Italy served by very polite and charming waiter. Our bathroom was very well appointed. The lake was lovely to swim in and the ducks most entertaining. Decor of bedroom left a lot to be desired. It was very dated.
Excellent location by lake, food good Car park was not on site as stated, but at neighbouring hotel
Friendly and helpful staff, restaurant perfect. Closed parking.
The location is umbelievable, just in front of the Bolsena lake. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It Is old, although is well conserved. The breakfast was not included and we paid 8€ per person for a coffe, one croissant and a fake orange jus. Those were the choices.
Close to centre of Rome. Nice room. Cheap parking.
location excellent, clean and tidy, and use of pool at hotel royal was a bonus.
Staff very friendly and helpful.Location very nice, room nice overlooking gardens/lake.We had a fix menu price dinner and the food was ok. They let us use the next door hotel pool and it is very nice.Breakfast very nice and fresh and frequently restocked. Staff very attentive and organized.Hotel looks looked after and it's a nice classical style.
The position but next time I would stay at other hotel where the swimming pool was. Didn't like crossing road to get to pool, but loved the pool.
excellant location, clean rooms ,close to lake bolsensa. Only a short walk to village centre and the small castle and its museum. IT did not have a kettle in the room, also breakfast was a bit sparse when we stayed there.
A nice hotel in a nice, interesting town, somewhat off the beaten path for international tourists. It has a beautiful lake, a castle, an old town and Etruscan ruins. The hotel is on a square overlooking the lake, delightful. Breakfast could be a bit more interesting.
Stayed here previously and enjoy the price to quality ratio that this hotel offers. The use of the sister hotel across the road has the advantage of secure parking plus a great pool with sunbeds to use. Well placed for walks next to the lake and restaurants. Only a short walk to the older area and more restaurants.
seeing Bolsena and the lake for the first time
Beautiful location at the Bolsena-lake shore, just a 3 minute walk to the old town centre. Nice clean rooms.
A family owned hotel, perfect in any details, confortable and clean room, well decorated. Very good restaurant, wit good local dishes at reasonable prices. Worth to stay few days, Very friendly and helpful staff.
Excellent location. The staff was very helpful.
convenient and nice location very small bedroom and bathroom really only suitable single occupancy basic breakfast choice staff had difficulty in understanding english which we found strange for a 4 star rated hotel.
The location and the view; the staff (friendly and helpful) fridge was broken; the Muzak coming out of the speakers all day long -- especially at breakfast; the pool (beautiful, but...) the water temperature was like bath wather -- in 95 degree heat!
The room was very small. The parking for guest was helter skelter. Had to just park anywhere you could find.
Very nice hotel in a lovely setting No restaurant open in the hotel.
The location was very good and the staff did fulfill our request that both rooms should be close together.
Located opposite Lake Bolsena and in easy walking distance to all major eateries / shops. Very quiet Pool availability closed off very eary, particularly when days were hot & sun still shining. Rooms were a little dated and basic but comfortable.
very clean, friendly hotel. could use some updating with decor in upper hallways, bedrooms. new towels and better soaps/shampoos for what we were told was a 4-star hotel. more comfortable mattress would be a plus. other than that great place.
Reception excellent -especially Christina Breakfast disappointing-staff unfriendly
This hotel is situated by Lake Bolsena and has wonderful views. Our room was at the front and from our terrace we could enjoy the lake view. The hotel garden is lovely, full of scented flowers, has large pergolas and a very good swimming pool. The staff were very friendly and the buffet brekfast excellent witth very fresh bread and croissants. Two things really. Our room, bathroom and terrace had not been swept (there was a dirty bandage on the terrace) and was not swept during our stay. When we arrived the towels were new and fluffy, those on the following days were old and worn.
Very nice and friendly staff. Rooms are comfy and neat. Bathroom is OK. Great swimming pool situated in a nice garden. Hotel is situated face to the Bolsena Lake. The view is incredible. Private parking is a +. Trips to Rome, Siena and Florence are possible. There are also plenty of trattoria's in the area where you can eat at a good price. Center of Bolsena is a 5 minutes walk. Breakfast was a little poor. No "fresh" orange juice, no toaster, no "soft" bread (important when you are on holiday with the kids). Croissants and cake ok, cheese, ham, eggs, jam, fruit, cereals, ... You can also order capuccino if you like.
Hotel Holiday is a lovely small Italian hotel. The breakfast was good. It was in a good location in a small town on Lake Bolsena. It is a very small and quiet town with not an awful lot to do, but it is a great base to explore the area. The beds were back breaking! Really the most uncomfortable bed ever!!
Fantastic hotel, a real gem. Staff fantastic and really helpful.
On the shore of lago di bolsena. Good for harbour walks to the bars and restaurants.
Location of hotel was good overlooking the lake yet close to the town The shower in our room did not work correctly i.e. we could not adjust it to cold water
The hotel facilities are new, nicely designed and built and the hotel looks out directly on scenic Lake Bolsena Staff were not particularly friendly or helpful. Most guests seem to be Italian tourists. Staff not well versed in English
location of hotel is good - close to city and lake, parking is free very thin walls
Location near the city. Room fridge made big noise. Basic breakfest poor.
strange smell in the lobby and in the bathroom.
nothing actually except the free parking at the hotel bad breakfast, this hotel needs to be renovated!!! the rooms were old and noisy!
Conveniently located to walk to lakeside or to old town of Bolsena. No hot water for showers but this was quickly rectified. Breakfast was very basic.
Convenient stopping place Close to lake and small town Local cafes and shops Comfortable, helpful Coffee and tea at breakfast
Central location in the town, with car parking space provided. No information in the hotel room about the facilities they offer.
This hotel was in the center of a very nice and interesting town
The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was very relaxing.
Breakfast was one of the best during our trip in Italy. Inconvenient location. The facility is more of a 'motel' rather than a hotel/resort. Pool was closed. For this price, we could have stayed at a very nice B&B in the same region.
Nice and cosy hotell in the countryside. Very good restaurant and food. A car is needed, but there is a big parking place about 50m from the hotell. Church bells nearby are noisy ( ear plugs may be needed ).
cuisine in the restaurant was excellent
The staff spoke very little English but they welcomed us very graciously and saw to our every need. It was like we were family. A nice light breakfast was included. Parking was free. This little hotel is a gem. They have a great restraurant that is relatively inexpensive. The town is real layed back with a little grocery, a bakery, a gelato hang out and a couple restraurants. This was the most relaxing stop on our three weeks in Italy. Many hill towns are an easy day trip. Parking in Orvieto by the train station is free for visiting Orvieto or for taking the train to Rome for day trips.
The beautiful surroundings. The buildings are wonderful and the swimming pool was a welcome sight on a hot day It was very difficult to find any staff when we arrived (there were very few, if any other guests staying there at the time). There was no bar and, more importantly for us, no breakfast offered. If we had known this, we would have come prepared as the kitchen was well equipped for self-catering
Very comfortable setting, splendid building. Good effort from Marco (manager) to welcome us At this price, would have expected beds to be more comfortable. Seemed expensive for what it was. Hotel is relatively new and seem to be some teething problems. When we tried to pay the bill, the line was down to the credit card system, and had no back up (eg paper) so requested we drive to local town to get money. No information in room about what hotel facilities
