Pros: Friendly hosts, great view of the lake, and the diner for an extra €25 was really excellent! Not much English, but this wasn't an issue for us as my partner is Italian. Well recommended!
Cons: The outdoor pool is really nice thanks to the view of the lake, but expect to have some dead flies, etc. as swimming obstacles! Still really it enjoyed it though.

Pros: Nice, but almost not english-speaking hosts. Very cozy and homely atmosphere. A real chimney at the dining room - live fire is wonderful for freezing evenings at winter and early spring! Nice view ...
Cons: We had some problems with hot water at morning - something was broken and it took more than half an hour to repair. The room was pretty simply furnished, though large.
A great choice for a stay in Bolsena, Agriturismo Belvedere features an airport shuttle (available on request) and a rooftop terrace. After having fun at the outdoor pool, you can grab a bite to eat at the restaurant.

Pros: The surroundings were peaceful and beautiful part of the world. Staff were extremely helpful. Close to other lovely sightseeing areas as well and a great place to use as a base.

Set in the Lazio countryside, Castello Santa Cristina is surrounded by a large green garden with swimming pool and tennis court. This property produces its own spelt and lentils, and organises horse riding excursions. In a building right below the 17th-century castle, rustic-style rooms and apartments overlook the garden and come with antique furnishings and a private bathroom with free toiletries. Apartments include a living area with satellite flat-screen TV, fireplace and kitchen. An Italian-style buffet breakfast is served daily in a dedicated room or out in the open during summer. The restaurant is open every day upon reservation, and specialises in typical local cuisine. Bikes can be rented out at the Santa Cristina, which is 2.5 miles from the centre of Grotte di Castro. You can reach Lake Bolsena in 15 minutes by car while Orvieto is 21.1 miles away.

Pros: Not very much. Poor hotel. The only good thing was the look outside the window. I think we were the only guests.
Cons: Not very clean. Very old furniture. Not worth saving the 20 Euro for a better hotel.
