- incredible home stile service with a lot of pleasant attention (even small pictures on the breakfast tables with family name). Annelise (hostess) brings breakfast herself; - place (St. Gilgen) is wonderful; - free bicycles are really necessary in those picturesque land; - umbrellas are so nice... Only extremely positive amotions!!!
The hotel was typically Austrian in style and the owners very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The breakfast was wonderful and the hotel very clean.
This hotel is perfect! Lovely breakfast, friendly and helpful people and first class location. Would stay here every time! Excellent sauna area
Fantastic hotel, very comfortable and homely. Our room had a lovely balcony, comfy beds and was well decorated. The photos on the website don't really do justice to the place. The hotel owner was very friendly and helpful. Also good breakfast and location.
Familial staff members, excellent location and comfertable rooms. Nothing at all.
personal service from the owner. Nothing was too much trouble
close to post bus station, comfortable and beautiful room, clean and functional bathroom, excellent breakfast, friendly staff
Very good personell. Very friendly and personal. Nej
Perfect stay, the owner of the hotel is a very friendly and an extremely nice lady.My kids loved her and wants to go back to see her.
Very pleasant and accommodating hosts, very clean and comfortable, excellent dining and vacationing recommendations.
The entire staff were friendly and obliging, we appreciated the elevator, parking was convenient, bed comfortable, bathroom convenient, proximity to everything in town was excellent, food good, very well run hotel by a very nice family. Kitchen odours obvious in downstairs corridor.
The best place to stay right by the water!!
Pleasant athmosphère with some historic background about Mozart sister wedding . Nice village wih beautyfull panoramic view over Sankt Wolfgang lake .
Nothing, I am afraid We would like to make our strong complaint about this hotel. We had been assured that the double room we had booked had wounderful view to the Wolfgangsee lake but to our disappointment it viewed to the chimneys of the other buldings and to make matters worse to the kitchen with all the noise and the strong smells of the food which was cooked. As we realised it wasn't a four star hotel but it was a kitchen with rooms full of food smell. It was nothing like the hotel we had seen in the internet.
The location was excellent. Breakfast was a good value and good food. The rooms are lovely and the baths are up to date. No, it all was very good.
Utter professionalism of owners and staff.
The view from the room across the lake to the mountain was wonderful. The owner was very obliging and helped us find out way around the area with maps and directions. The rooms were newly redone and clean. Some noise from guests in the other rooms was evident.
very hospitable host ; rich breakfast ; dream location ; ther is no restaurant for lunch or dinner
Clean, nice lake view
Very comfortable and spacious apartments, we feel there like at home. Wild swans came to our fire every night. We fed them and enjoyed the beautiful lake, the Alps and our bbq. The owners helped us in everything and always. They provide very nice friendly atmosphere. We'll be back there anyway.
A very comfortable, peaceful and hospital hotel in the picturesque lake-side Austrian town close to Salzburg.
Near lake and right in the middle of town. Very good breakfast and always greeted by owners in morning. No lift and room was on 4th floor.
All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Good secure car parking for the hotel just a minute's walk away. Very near to the lake and all the amenities of St. Gilgen. No bad points as far as we are concerned.
the location the breakfast was very average
The location was very good, the room was comfortable and the staff were friendly. There is also free car parking nearby. The hotel was supposed to have free bicycles for the guests but this was wrong, there were no bicycles. There were no services at the hotel at all, and no evening meals served. It is just a bed and breakfast, not really a hotel. Cigarette smoke was constantly drifting up the stairs and around the corridors of the bedrooms. From this point it is mainly a smoking residence and not suitable for non smokers. The breakfasts were not very imaginative and the same every morning. The morning we left, there was no milk left out for tea or coffee or for cereal. The owner has expressed no wish to make any improvements but looks forward to selling up in a couple of years.
Owner was extremely cordial and helpful. Parking for our vehicle was very close in a protected lot. The room was very nice, and spacious. Breakfast was excellent with good selection. The location of the hotel is in the center of a beautiful small village.
Very, very beautiful little town, friendly staff. Breakfast was not buffet as declared. We got only 4 slices of cheese, 1 little processed cheese, 6 little slices of saussage and ONE little slice of ham for us 2. This kit was served without change all 3 days, we was in the hotel. Nobody spoke english.
The hotel in the centre of a very quaint village. Homely welcome in a charming and comfortable hotel.
Hotel location was excellent, in a quaint village, in a picturesque location. Hotel staff spoke excellent english and very knowledgeable and helpful on where to visit.
Very nice large room with balcony & sitting area. View over lake fantastic. Very friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere.
Location , walking distance to the village . Pool is stunning !!
The facilities. The position of the hotel. The Weather. On our last evening we were rather squeezed into a corner for dinner, as there was a party of 6 next to us.
Superb location overlooking the lake; room probably the best I've stayed in; hotel grounds and spa facilities excellent; staff friendly, helpful and efficient; half-board meals excellent variety, quality and value for money. Nothing at all - will definitely return.
Great location. Lovely hotel. Great cakes. Will go again. Lovely view from the room. Maybe needs a little improvement in room decoration.
The room position, and the fantastic lake views from our room. Easy access to local buses and ferries to visit other areas. Access to St Gilgen is made easy by private path at rear of hotel
Although it says this hotel caters to kids, we found ourselves constantly trying to restrain them from shouting, jumping, etc...I just wouldn't recommand it to families with young children.
The view from our room was spectacular. The owner and employes were friendly and helpful with any requests.
The food was superb as was the view and surroundings. One of the most beautiful places we have ever been.
the location & scenery - the food was good too. the people were nice & polite but considering the charge was on the high side the service could have been better We felt a little penny pinched when they charged us for tea for everyday when we just requested a kettle and mugs be kept in our room for us to make tea everyday - they charged 6.5 euro for sending a few teabags with it and when we mentioned we had finally got our own teabags without knowing they were charging us for theirs, they still went ahead & charged for the first day.
This is not a hotel in the traditional sense. we walked in, we found ourselves in the Kitchen area, there is no front desk. But there is this very friendly lady, I think she's the owner, who will greeted us immediately and made us feel really welcomed. She was always around, and she paid attention to our needs. This Hotel is beautiful, and is located in a beautiful setting. The lake is wonderful to swin in, it is very clean, and is full of not too small fish. We loved this hotel, and we would certainly return to it again.
Kind people, location on seaside, cleanlines and Austrian food. Some more noise from the main road
This not an Hotel it is a simply lovely guesthouse with the most incredible views, freindly staff and comfortable rooms. The lake is right in front of the property and there are two lovely towns nearby with a variety of attractions/activities.
nature surrounding, yet, close to Salzburg, good breakfast noiseness for the rooms facing the road, no internet, very limited English of the staff
Location was very good, right on the lake front. Standard of cleanlyness in the room was very poor. Looked like it had not been cleaned properly for a year. Move the funiture, dust and dirt everywhere. Terrance outside our room was wrotten and dangerous. Hotel owner was very nice and accomidating but the other staff were abrupt and not welcoming. Service took a long time.
location- to explore lakes by car View of ;lake
We loved the location next to the lake. We could have breakfast and dinner on the terrace and enjoy the nature. Great breakfast and tasty fried fish from the lake. You can visit lovely villages nearby, take a long walk in the mountains and sail on the lakes. Salzburg is rather close and is a magnificent city. This hotel is located next to a very busy road. Even with closed windows you can hear the traffic driving by. This is the only road next to the lake and is also used by trucks and buses. But you'd like to sit on your balcony and enjoy a quiet evening. That's unlikely. In the staircase you can smell the kitchen the whole day.
Everything except the following (see next paragraph). We recommended the hotel to many Czech people, see comments at http://www.mimibazar.cz/rodinne_fotografie.php?album=140108 (in Czech) Breakfast allways the same, some food not fresh. Rooms facing the street noisy (even at night), in rooms facing the lakeside you can smell cigarettes often (there is a terrace at this side). The beach not as nice as it sounds in the hotel info :), some kind of water shoes necessary.
The room accommodation was excellent, newly refurbished and of unique character. The location and views across the lake were spectacular and all that one could hope for.
Diner was very good the bad at the room was terribly
