Pros: This is a unique building that is worth a visit. Beautiful tiles, authentic furniture...wonderful!
Cons: There should be some investment to keep the rooms to good standards. Toilet was partially broken, bath tub looked a bit dirty....definitely in an antique of this type the style can be kept but modernized at the same time. The chimenee is a good thing to keep but I did not used mine coz of the smell in the room and in the clothes and without the fire it was really cold inside and no other heating system is provided....
Pros: This is a great historic hotel. The rooms have paintings by famous Guatemalan artists and colonial-era art. Staff is amiable and attentive. The dining room is superb!
Cons: I know this is a historic hotel, but the reception office looks a bit old and neglected, it probably needs a renovation. It would be nice if the hotel could provide instructions for parking beforehand. Beware that parking is a mess in Chichicastenango on Sundays.
Pros: We had our own personal waiter and room attendant while we were here. Thomas was his name, and he was great.
Pros: The service of staff is excellent and attentive; decor is charming; fireplaces in all rooms. Staff will build a fire to keep you warm in evenings. Historic property.
Cons: Bathrooms could be updated.
Pros: Service and staff great. Breakfast great. Manuel Gonzalez should be cloned.
Cons: Felt we were paying for history, not for comfortable accommodations. And we would certainly specify a room without windows onto the main street!!!
Pros: The location is perfect very close to everything, very nice, clean and the staff, iThomas, Pedro and Paula, they are awesome.
Cons: Poor WiFi
Pros: The hotel may be rather old but its location and the staff make up for its old look. Location is superb, staff so helpful and delightful and my wood fire at night was lovely. Paula and Marco on front desk was both great!
Cons: Seemed quite pricey but there is not a lot of accommodation in Chichi.
Pros: I love everything!! Thankful for the staffs.
Cons: Fire place, inside the building. Very nice.
Pros: Staff was exceptional, beds were comfortable, food was very good, facilities were clean and location can’t be beat.
Cons: WiFi left much to be desired, not very good.
Pros: Fantastic hotel in the heart of the town. Very atmospheric. Like being on the set of an Indiana Jones film. Lovely dining experiences too with the butlers/waiters dressed in traditional costume in the evening. Very courteous. Two minutes walk to the market. Do not expect all mod cons. This is the point of being here. Really enjoyed our two nights. Also, great little bar and fantastic barman.

A continental breakfast is available each morning at the hotel. Panajachel is 38 km from Hotel Chalet.
Pros: The owner and staff were hospitable and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is well located within walking distance to the centre of town and the public market
Cons: There was nothing to complain about.
Pros: Sr Manual is a wonderful host. Room 16 was simple but comfortable with good lighting and an open view. (But watch that bathroom step!). Excellent homemade bread and fresh o.j. for breakfast.
Cons: Those barking dogs at night! No fans in the room so it can get hot during the day. Window open lets in a breeze that helps.
Pros: Comfortable bed and quiet at night. Hot shower.
Cons: Cat pee smell in one room. Disorganized
Cons: The check in process was weird. Nobody was there the girl made us wait outside in the rain. After 10min I rang again the bell saying we need to get in... it's raining! The owner arrived way later and his son opened the door of our room without knocking... The place is way too expensive for what it is, and I didn't find the 24h desk by waiting under the rain.
Pros: Excellent breakfast with home made whole bread, fresh fruits, scrambled eggs, all you can drink coffee. Clean and safe. The host is very nice.
Pros: The staff was very kind and helpful.
Cons: The hotel was very dirty.
Pros: Great welcome at the hotel. Nice room, and perfect location.
Pros: The host was amazingly kind and helpful. He welcomed us late at night and went out of his way to make our stay as pleasant as possible.
Pros: Great location. Very secure accommodation. Clean.
