A calma no Hotel. A facilidade em estacionar. O conforto do Quarto.
staff were very friendly, helpful.breakfast was basic, but a good selection.the bed was a bit small but ensuite was ideal. same thing for breakfast eg scramble eggs mushrooms and frankfruters
They seem to take care about the security, there where cameras on many places in the hotel. The reception where very small and they didn´t have staff working/watching the reception all the time. They could have had some more information about the city and maps for the area.
We can hear what the people on next room said.
I liked the choice and quality of the breakfast. The staff were friendly, helpful and approachable. I also liked the location as it was near to shops.
Exceptional value for money. Breakfast, internet and nice room for under 40 euro. Excellent, helpful staff.
The location. Water was brown, probably due rusty pipework.
The hotel was lovely but there is nothing to do in the area, not for tourist. The beach was 40 mins walk away, its along walk.....
Very kind staff, the facilities are good and the hotel is well located and quiet. The jacuzzi wasn't warm and the turkish bath was cold
lovely staff, nice rooms- simple, but spacious and clean. good facilities. very quiet. big beds. 10 out of 10. nothing that i personally disliked- however if i had been there mid summer when it was very hot i might have found it a bit out of the way- 10-15 minute walk to the train station, 30-45 minutes to beach.
nice helpful staff and location
The proximity to Lisbon without having to pay for parking. The oportunity to the beaches and historic sights.
The breakfast is the best aspect of this hotel, and the possibility to borrow bikes for touring. The hotel is awkward in several ways. The church bells (300m away) can be heard from 7 am onwards. The pillows were spongy, and the door to the balcony did not close perfectly (room 101).
Pleasant facilities, huge bed and quiet room
Staff very friendly and helpful. They speak French and English. Room spacious and comfortable. Basic gym available for free. Steam room and sauna for 5€. We booked for one night and finally stayed for two. Good value for money. Problem with hot water. We did not have really hot water in the room and were told that it takes time to go through the system if hotel is empty (out of main touristic season).
quiet, large rooms, friendly staff, Internet access for free no furniture on the balcony, the location (Esmoriz is not a very nice city), the are no English or French speaking staff in the Restaurant
the room. no.
The appartment was nice and big with a good view on the ocean. It was very close to the beach. Every evening there was a concert next to our hotel which was very noisy. Luckily it always stopped at midnight, The elevators were very slow.
The view is amazing, the apartment is really spacious. Loved staying here, it is a lot better than the reviews led me to believe. Firm beds, but this is a portugal thing I think.
Staff,Accomodations,Beach. I extended my stay from 3 days to 10.When I checked in early on 26jul09, I had driven from Guarda after having a medical procedure done the day before and was very uncomfortable. The two ladies who checked me in were absolutely delightful, picked up my spirits right a way. They were also very knowledgable about the area for many miles around. The accomadations were much more than I expected It was a fully stocked, large apartment, not a studio as advertized.A Very pleasant surprise.Housekeeping noticed that the door to the balcony did not open properly and staff was up the following day fixing it, I had not mentioned it to anyone. The beach is superb. It was perfect for what I needed
We have stayed at this hotel before. The staff are very helpful and courteous. The location is excellent as it is right opposite the beach.
Great location, five minutes from the station, and one minute from the beach. Espinho is about 30 mins from Porto and 2hrs30 from Lisbon (direct). We were travelling with two small children (8 months and 2yrs) so the apartment was ideal - good size kitchen with Smeg appliances, although a microwave would have been handy for sterilising baby bottles. There's a casino next door and a night club somewhere in or near the hotel but we couldn't hear anything from the 12th floor. We were there for the last three days of the Festa de Espinho with concerts and fireworks directly outside the hotel, from our balcony we had the best views in town! Good location and facilities make this an ideal place to stay for families with young children. A small table and chairs on the balcony would have been nice but not really a negative.
We like the kindness of all hotel staff and closeness of beach, restaurants ,shops and train station. We like that the entry in hotel was able to all 24 hour.
Many things right in this hotel. Excellent reception staff, courteous helpful and knowledgeable. Spacious apartment. Excellent for beach and rail travel. Reliable housekeeping each day. Additional cost for seaview was very worthwhile -would not have wanted any other aspect. Lots of storage space and large reception hall to apartment, which we used as our child's bedroom rather than using the living room in this one bedroomed apartment. Nice new smeg fridge in our apartment. Settled into a relaxed routine very easily. Rooms tired to my view and give a 70s feel from colours to carpets and tiles; other than that fine. Rooms missing a radio, which is not that costly to provide. An iron in the room would have been nice, but they were available through housekeeping. No sense of catering for those that like traditional tea! Used jug as the pot and kettle needed to be a cooking jug for the electric stove.
A friendly and helpful staff. The room were really clean. breakfast not included € 7.00 each person
My wife and I were welcomed very eefficiently by the English speaking staff and our room was comfortable and well serviced. The location was very close to the beach but we were disappointed that the sea view requested was seen only from a balcony.obliquely. The lighting was very dim and inadequate for reading.
Very helpful staff and apartment very clean with fresh towels every day. There was no hairdryer in the apartment. It had to be borrowed from reception - if available.
The staff, location, services and food are exellent. Highly recomended for the price. Beware of Booking dot com's location, it is wrong, I spent 1 1/2 hours driving around Toreira before discovering it is not even in this beach town. This is clearly a problem with booking.com
the hotel had a good range of facilities for you to occupy your time
Very big rooms with great infrastructure, washing machines in the rooms. A bit old but nice building. Very nice sports infrastructure. Building needs some minor renewal. Not as near to the sea side as we had thought.
Excellent location infront of the beach, very good facilities for swimming and sauna. The personnel was very polite and friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel. The breakfast is perfect, several fruits and local bread. Too many rules in the swimming pool
received upgrade without asking, very good buffet breakfast, very central situation. nothing
Staff were excellent and very helpful
Loved the 70s decor, beautifully maintained (or restored?). It's a real period piece. The staff on check in were very friendly though not so much so the next day. Not enough pillows on the bed to comfortably sit up!
Private parking close to entrance. Excellent service by the porter. Close to the beach and Casino. Good offer as to breakfast. Room view not very interesting!Maybe view as per price.
The staff was excellent and helpfull. Prime location on the city center and beach front. Many restaurants and shops nearby. The room was very dusty and the air conditioner over-dried the air. Bad insulating windows caused too much cold air in the room.
Convenient for beach and town Looking a little dated compared with when we last stayed there 36 years ago
Break fast was very varied and catered for everyones taste. We were up graded to a sea front room it was very good for the money. The mini bar did not have a very good choice if you chose to stay in your room.
The hotel has a good location and it is easy to go from this place to visit Porto. The location is excellent, directly at the beach at the Atlantic ocean. Breakfast buffet is good. The hotel really needs some renovation, everything looks a little too heavy used. Carpets look dirty.
Position No outdoor pool and poor lighting in the rooms
Excelleny hospitality, good facilities, stylish, excellent views, great breakfast, excellent value for money
The young couple that run the place really made us all feel very welcome. Their eye for detail and care taken to explain the "lay of the land" was very good. They went out of their way to assist one of our members that did not attend the business meetings to ensure that she was driven to areas of interest. A really good feel. We will all go back there should the opportunity arise. The hotel owner should really consider in allowing guests to pay with major international recognised credit cards. It is not reasonable to expect people to carry large sums of cash to pay for accommodation.
IT is a nice hotel with good rooms and kind staff
Parking is for free. Old fashion hotel.Lights at the room are sensibly poor, but.... tropical climate, not to say Sahara climate is for sure in the room, no way to cool down.
Friendliness of staff and cleanliness of room.
food was good car park too small
Very nice food in the Grill restaurant, Grill chef speak perfect English.
Excellent rooms and very friendly staff. I travel a lot and this is probably the best hotel in Europe that I have stayed in.
service and the room The indoor pool wasn't finished
Courteous staff, well designed room, well serviced Breakfast spread quite good but hot food option limited
hot water turned down between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m.
Great hotel, new and clean, decent breakfast, free wi-fi, about 10km from the Europarque.
Nice room and bathroom - Helpful staff - Exelent restaurant - NO
our stay was a comfortable one. The breakfast was limited and the bacon and egg was always cold. If you came down for breakfast after 8.00am it is not guranteed that you will get bacon and eggs. Often this is requested but slow to arrive. Communication was also a barrier as most of the kitchen staff did not speak English and the guest had great difficulties expressing their neds.
Hotel room was very good value for money. Dinner in the restaurant wasn't of the same standard unfortunately.
The hotel is very new, very clean and the rooms are comfortable and well designed. i would stay again. No.
A very nice and charming hotel with all nowadays facilities located in a beautiful rural environment. The renovation of the old quinta is an example how modern technology and the beauty of a traditional Portuguese house can be combined. The room and the balcony give a relaxed feeling. The dishes in the restaurant combine the traditional Portuguese dishes with modern taste. The personnel is very friendly.
Comfortable hotel, excellent breakfast, recommended
The staff were competent, helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was good. I think that the hotel has had a major upgrade recently. Everything was clean and it worked! Quite an easy walk from the hotel into town.
the room, the tranquility the view from the room the hoyel is relatively new and the staff isn't trained, also the list of residense country of guests did not include Israel
Very nice facilities - e.g. gym.
Quietness in rom and general area
use of sauna steamroom and jaccuzi.Indoor pool nice and warm. Good breakfast.Dinner fair.Highly recommend Calabria in the town No sun beds provided for sunbathing, even though weather was warm and sunny for October
restful and peaceful nothing
The staff was very helpful, efficient and friendly. The room was comfortable and very nice.
Internet fonctionne bien autrement pas grand chose.Internet works fine otherwise not much Oreillets sans taies, baignoire qui fuit au sol, parking inexistant, petit dejeuné non réapprovisionner.Headset without pillowcases, bath leaking ground, nonexistent parking, breakfast not be replenished.
Staff was friendly, caring, affable
nice and quiet city. all near by foot or bike. very close to oporto and aveiro. very tasty food and excellent wine. the bicycle path to the beach and ria aveiro. breakfast
We found everything about this hotel wonderful, from the beautifully restored installations to the outstanding food and the friendly staff that really makes guests feel welcome. Excellent value for money and highly recommended.
Friendly personel, nice rooms, good food (menu of the day for 15€ =good and more than you can eat) and amazingly great choice of portuguese wine and Porto. Oudoor swimming pool is nice and refreshing (not cold). The hotel is difficult to find (even with GPS) but it is worth the efford. Free WiFi works OK. As frequent traveler, I think that this is the first time I have nothing to criticize about a hotel.
Our stay in the hotel was wonderful .....lovely room .... fabulous breakfast buffet ..... gorgeous relaxing pool. We will return for a longer stay.
food very poor and overpriced
my girlfriend forgot something important at the hotel and they had it delivered to the airport (some 90km away through busy traffic) in time for our flight. the hotel personnel helped with everything they could. always helped carry/carried the luggage up and downstairs. free drinks are available for guests at the bar. the sight out the room was breathtaking, the bed wear was winter's(it was still too early in the year for summmer's). because the area is dead quiet, the rooms are not 100% sound proof. other guests may wake you up unnintencionally in the morning. perfect for those who rent a car, a bit pricey with taxis. they do lend bikes to guests. the mirror in the bathroom was a bit oxidated. the TV had less channels than i would have liked
Location Expensive and poor quality restaurant Room was musty and not fresh No ground floor room and no lift. Client incapable of using stairs.
Good hotel with large pool area and good breakfast choice Bar had sold out of tonic and bar area could have done with a clean, mind it was Sunday and I expect all was done on Monday.
Very good staff. Very good pool. Good bar. The Hotel was located close to the area where the venue was located so it made life easy. The bedrooms are now tired and need updating. The beds are uncomfortable for todays standards and need replacing. It could do with a restaurant of some sort in the evenings, even if it is a bistro or salad bar.
The Hotel itself was of a good standard; very good cooked / continental breakfast included. Located close to main railway station within small town. Reasonably priced eateries to suit most people. Many small coffee bars / bars to choose from . Two local markets each week. Great sandy beaches are a short bus ride away. Did not hire car as trains and buses very cheap to use; also very regular and reliable. No.
the room and the swimming facilities
it is located directly on the sea shore. There is no beach, though. general status of the building exterior and interior is very poor. Not plesent smell from the ground floor toilets. Reception desk still did not send me my promiced invoice for my stay there, beacause their printer ran out of tonner. Access to the internet is only from the duty computer of a receptionist.
Comfortable room, lots of space. Nice garden. 3 minute drive from the beach. Nice scenery and very close to the main town. The pool needs some maintenance. TV channels were few and the TV wasn't working properly
Very por state of repair, needs painting on outside and better cleaning of corridores
The hotel staff were always pleasant and willing to help with any questions and for the price it was excellent value for money and in a good location. No
Superb location Bar and restaurant lacked ambience
Good place Old furniture
The hotel looks too old and worn down. Seems like nothing was changed from the beginning of 90s.
Friendly and helpful staff, quiet, nice location Bathrooms, old furniture
