6.7 Good
Pros: The room, staff were excellent, our dog was welcomed. We did not have breakfast as this was not included and the price was high 30 euros each, we couldn't each too much, so gave it a miss!
Cons: We did not enjoy our meal which was expensive. We have eaten in many Michelin starred restaurants and Relais Chateau and this was for us not exceptional, something we have come to expect. The food in general was not tasty although presented well. We had the 150 euros menu.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a comfortable hotel! Our room was clean, well-appointed, spacious. The building itself was a treat--beautiful lounges and gardens. The breakfast room--a historic "monument" in its own right--was very satisfying, a step back in time. Breakfast was delicious. We had a delicious dinner at the gastronomic restaurant--with wine pairings for each course--and that was such fun! The staff was friendly and engaging. Even the valet service was exceptional!
Cons: We left after three nights for our next destination; I wish I could have stayed a full week! Because we were using Saulieu as a base to explore the beautiful Morvan, I didn't make time to use the spa services. In hindsight, that was a lost opportunity.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel, garden, room and wonderful service.
Cons: We were only able to take a bath, we couldn’t use the shower properly.
9.6 Excellent
Cons: Price for breakfast and extra prices for spa meant we did not have either at the hotel
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The meal and dining area were very nice.
Cons: Use of the SPA could have been available free of charge for the room rates which were not inexpensive. It would have made the stay more attractive and special. The front desk staff did not seem happy to serve until Saturday morning upon departure. The dining staff was exceptional and pleasant.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The service attention of the staff has been outstanding! The Michelin rated Restaurant is an experience to remember for life! The garden is a location of peace and beauty

Hostellerie de la Tour d'Auxois - Saulieu - Bedroom
3
8.2 Excellent (370 reviews)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed at the Hostellerie before and really enjoy the location and facilities of the hotel. Staff is helpful and charming, the restaurant is excellent and the outside pool on hot summer days is a bonus
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location and nice staff
5.8 Okay
Pros: Big room, great breakfast, nice swimming pool
Cons: Unfriendly owners, compensation-promise not held, be careful when you complain - owners might become aggressive
5.0 Okay
Pros: The Pool and garden. In the City centre
Cons: Direct at the bust and noisy D906. A stay with an open window is very uncomfortable. Even with closed windows, the rooms are noisy. With a closed window, the aircondition is essential for a comfortable stay/sleep, however the airconditioning is very noisy ,
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We very much enjoyed the location and the facilities of the hotel. Unfortunately the hotel restaurant is closed on Mondays (which I had been informed about prior to our visit) so we could not try it. The pool was fabulous on the day we were there, we had it to ourselves. It's a calm and cosy hotel with very friendly staff. If we travel to Saulieu again we would definitely book this hotel again.
Cons: It would have been really great to have a kettle in the room and we would have loved being able to try the restaurant as we visited during peak season.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast. Very charming place. Owners have spent 10 years making it top notch
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel with a fabulous pool and very good restaurant. Breakfast was superb.
Cons: It was very noisy - the ac was incredibly loud and when we turned it off and opened the window, the noise from the traffic was continuous even into the small hours!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful and elegant place! Great staff and nice restaurant! The breakfast is delicious!
7.9 Good
Pros: Nice room and good bed. We had an excellent dinner and good service at the restaurant.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very warm welcome and helpful with my little dog also kind and friendly so I will certainly return
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: Comfortable pleasant room overlooking garden, newly remodeled with modern bathroom
Cons: The sign on the door said “opening at 18:30”... seriously? We had to wait for half hour before opening!!! Good thing we didn’t show up earlier! Then I am told the room is overlooking the loud highway: I sure miss that when looking at the room description on Bookings. Bookings said it was the last room available: there was only 2 other guests tops at this hotel. And no breakfast because they are closed on Mondays.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good traditional French style hotel accommodation and food alike.
Cons: The bathroom is rather outdated.
7.0 Good
Pros: very friendly staff, in fact the facility was closed for a special occasion yet they accommodated our booking rather than cancelling on us which was very much appreciated. Easy parking and central in town.
Cons: The facility was a little dated. Didn't like the separate bath/toilet configuration. Value for money...it was one of the more expensive places we stayed in Burgundy and I didn't think it warranted the price.
6.3 Good
Pros: Central location and clean bathroom. Nice view from the room (garden side).
Cons: The room on the pictures seemed to be bigger than in reality. The breakfast was disappointing. Wall paper peeling off in the room. Chipped paint on the door frames. The hostess is not a service oriented person. Poor isolation between the rooms and floor. No electricity next to the bed. Tiny TV hang up high in the ceiling.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Could do with a wider option and not just bread/butter and coffee.
Cons: Fruits / cheese / eggs
6.3 Good
Pros: Central area of the town.
Cons: Narrow space than described. Absence of electric consent at the side table of bed. No wifi.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Room were not very clean. Breakfast is very petite..and not worth the 10 euro pp extra.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Location, quiet, nice view on the park.
Cons: Lack of heating, old hotel needing renovation, expensive for the quality especially breakfast

10.0 Excellent
Pros: welcome charm
7.1 Good
Pros: Amazing steak
Cons: Internet never worked in any room Shower too low
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The food served in the restuarant was very good.
Cons: It was on a noisy road
4.2 Okay
Cons: Only stayed one night as a stopover and to meet some friends, the manager was quite amiable, and we had a couple of (quite pricey) drinks while we waited. The restaurant was supposed to be open 7-9pm but when our friends arrived at 8, the chef (owner) decided he wasn't going to cook after all, which left it a little late for an alternative. The room was very small with no aircon (yes I know it was fairly cheap) but at the front of the hotel ,where we were kept awake by constant heavy lorries going through the village in the early hours of the morning - the dustmen also did their rounds at about 5.30am. The manager had told us the night before that business had been quite slow. Quelle Surpris!
6.3 Good
Pros: Good location as on route to home and the village is lovely
Cons: Room was small and noisy as room on main road. Also hot as no air conditioning.
7.1 Good
Pros: Location, suited our purpose Had dinner on our last night in restaurant, very good steak
Cons: Not able to connect to internet, reception said it was our fault, tried on 4 devices without success. Other guests had same problem. Cost of breakfast at more than 12Euro/person was far too expensive for what was on offer Room was very small for 2 guests
