10.0 Excellent
Pros: I originally booked a executive suite, upon arrival when checking in I was informed that I had been upgraded free of charge to the Ida Lovelace suite for our 2nd anniversary which absolutely blew me away. The room was breathtaking and beautiful and the flowers I pre ordered and left in the room upon arrival were perfect. The touches throughout the room from the plate with 'Happy Anniversary' on and brownies to the notes from the manager and welcomimg details. The staff during our stay had the highest level of customer service and attention to detail throughout the hotel was at a total different level to anywhere we have ever stayed before. Tony the porter was very kind in showing us directions and being very helpful. The females on reception Danielle and Lois are extremely welcoming, friendly, professional, helpful and were always there when needed for anything. The rest of the staff whether they were in the hotel, the spa and the restaurants were all very polite and welcoming. Not forgetting to mention the cleaners, they do a fantastic job. The hotel, spa and the suite was immaculate and us both as a couple are very thankful for being made to feel so welcome by you all. Our food in the dining room on the night and for breakfast was simply beautiful, we enjoyed the meals and the experience. The level of service was fantastic. The food was well presented and out of this world to taste. All in all, both myself and Tony could not of asked for a better stay and the team are world class at how you do it. Its the team that makes the hotel I think it is today which I add WELL DONE ON THE RED STARS. Keep up the good work and we will be visiting again maybe next year for our 3rd anniversary. I personally myself can not be anymore grateful, thankful and pleased with our stay and how you as a team made my partner feel. Thank you

Pros: Very enjoyable stay. Staff, location, and breakfast were great.
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Room was extremely clean and tidy, beds were very comfortable and we had a great night's sleep. That was important because we'd spent all day driving as I was taking my daughter to Durham university the next morning. Also, breakfast was excellent. Would definitely stay here again.
Cons: Only negative was the shower - absolutely awful as barely any water was coming out. Shower head either needs descaling or replacing. Also, there was a weird smell in the bathroom - not as in a dirty toilet smell, but more like the foul smell of vape. Not so much like someone used a vape in the (no smoking) room, but more like someone who does vape (and so their clothes smell of it) possibly cleaned the room... Very strange, but I could definitely smell it every time I went in there
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The service was excellent and the owner could not do enough to make sure the stay was as expected.. choice of breakfast was first class and the cleanliness of the room was a credit to the manager and all staff...well done

Cons: The location I has no public transportation during Sunday’s The customers who don’t drive must hire a taxi to travel back to Durham city on Sundays .. Also the guesthouse hasn’t told customers they has NO restaurant., so a bit panic while staying there at Saturday night.

Cons: As it’s built on a hill, there are a lot of steps and staircases to manage. Not so good for someone like me with a knee problem.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The inn was lively, busy and had a good atmosphere. but our accommodation was in a separate on site bungalow which was very peaceful and comfortable. The staff were all local and very friendly and pleased to provide a good service. There was a good range of food to choose from. Cons: The shower was blocked, and we had to call a member of staff in the morning to sort it out.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved everything, very good sized and clean room, the lady that served us at breakfast was lovely and really attentive.
Cons: There could’ve have been grilled tomatoes at breakfast to complete the ‘English breakfast’ buffet and (which is completely understandable) the room service was only available from 5-10 and as we arrived just after 10 from a 5 hour car journey we fancied a good hot meal and unfortunately the kitchen was closed.
6.3 Good
Pros: Spacious, clean and free parking
Cons: Location

Cons: Lovely hotel very nice and modern . But the only problem was a faulty card reader in our room that kept us awake all night as it was making clicking sounds . Hotel tried there best to sort it out so a thumbs up for that I would definitely stay here again just not in that room

Pros: Modern hotel situated next to the Stadium of Light. Our bedroom was spacious with comfortable, good size, beds and it was very well cleaned. The WiFi was free and had a strong signal. The parking is just across the road and was free, we stayed on a Friday evening but were provided with a pass to leave our car there all day on the Saturday - ideal as we were attending a match at the Stadium!
Cons: Phone signal wasn't great and although breakfast was good the team were slow to replenish when items were running low.

Pros: Breakfast in a bag was a nice surprise. The room was clean & comfortable, the staff efficient & friendly. All just what we needed!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Clean, quiet and friendly staff
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The team were friendly, beds comfy and in a great location on bus routes and close to town. Although next to a busy nightclub, the double glazing over the windows cut all the noise out.
Cons: It looked a little tired in places. Bath and sink in from clean but very scratched. The bedside lamps were quite dusty! Only enough tea coffee, milk for 1 drink each in room, although only had to ask at reception for top ups.
7.9 Good
Pros: Fantastic ,amazing , friendly ,can do enough for you staff
Cons: weather
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff were excellent, as was the room - spacious, and very well fitted out (far superior to a lot of 3/4 star establishments), and although there were no breakfasts, a complimentary continental pack was provided free of charge. Really excellent value for money.
Cons: Location was difficult to find, mainly because the only hotel sign is on the front of the building, which is sideways to the road, and partly hidden by another establishment. There are no other indicator boards, either on the main road, or on the rear of the building
7.5 Good
Pros: Excellent service from the Staff. Staying overnight before the Great North Run and early check out would mean missing breakfast. On check in we were given a complimentary Breakfast to go.
Cons: Staying on ground floor and a lot of noise from the room above as guests moved back and forward across room until the early hours of the morning. With an early start to get to the Great North Run this was not ideal
1.0 Poor
Pros: The staff were excellent
Cons: Room was dated and shabby Calibre of clientele very questionable and I appreciate the comfort inn isn’t responsible for who books but Saturday 28/9 the police were called for two clients fighting and the room next to mine had a single guy who had picked up a lassie and we’re playing loud music and having loud sex
7.5 Good
Pros: Everything was saticfactory
9.6 Excellent
Pros: You'll never meet a meet a more helpful, charming and friendly receptionist than the lady who was there on my arrival and departure. A real pleasure to meet. That goes a long way in my book. Convenient for the football #RUFC

8.3 Excellent (1,586 reviews)

This classic hotel retains its traditional feel but with all the modern comforts, including rooms with state-of-the-art facilities. Guests can enjoy the many facilities including two very different - but equally as stunning - restaurants; Tavistock Italia and Tavistock Thai China which serve the best of Italian and Oriental cuisine. Luigi Khans restaurant is going to be closed on Christmas Day.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The property has a lot of facilities on offer. Great location. Good value.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room a the hotel was excellent, and great value. Stunning view over the beach at Roker, easy to get to, plenty of parking, Nice walks along the seafront. The food in the Let There Be Crumbs (LTBC) bar/restaurant was great and the breakfast was as good as it gets!
Cons: This is a very minor point which would improve the experience: In the restaurant section of LTBC they would benefit from giving a more consistent staff presence in the restaurant. I had to look for someone to get a table, then go and look for someone to take the order, then to get the bill, then to pay the bill... Just making sure there's someone looking after the customers would have made a great meal perfect. I would still thoroughly recommend it though and hope to be back soon.
7.5 Good
Pros: Beds were comfortable and clean breakfast was excellent
Cons: Everything was great couldn't fault it
6.7 Good
Pros: A very nice boutique hotel
Cons: If there’s large parties in attendance do t put people who are just staying overnight above the parties the music was so loud and went on until 1 am. That’s the time we were able to go to sleep
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful room, comfy bed very clean. Staff very attentive and welcoming. Stunning views.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything the hotel was absolutely gorgeous loved my stay here thank you
4.0 Okay
Pros: The restaurant and waiting staff were lovely.
Cons: Reception was very unhelpful. Upon booking I had mentioned we were traveling with my 5 month old daughter and if they could provide a travel cot. They said they couldn’t guarantee they would have one but do all they could. Fortunately we brought our own as they had not provided one. Not only that our room was so tiny we could barley fit it down the side of the bed. We ordered room service and food was forgotten. The walls and doors were very thin and we even had other kids from down the hall playing knock a door run. Not particularly great with a sleeping baby and children playing loudly in the corridors. We also only had 1 bath towel for a family of 3 and broken/loose floor tiles around the toilet. Overall very disappointed. The appearance of this hotel is great at first site but would be hard pushed to find reason to return.
6.3 Good
Pros: Great location and clean, modern rooms
Cons: Paid for an executive room which website said had a living area with a couch but the room allocated was much smaller than advertised with no couch/living area. Spoke to staff who were very unhelpful and downright miserable. Also, prior to visiting my husband called the hotel to request wine (or any added extras) for the room as it was our anniversary to be told they didn’t do this even though it states they do on the website. Again staff were very unhelpful.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We were upgraded from our original room as it had not be cleaned. Had a huge room overlooking the water
Cons: We asked for a kettle as room only had a coffee machine with pods. Just wanted a cup of tea
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was buffet style first day and served at the table the second day Everything was fresh well cooked and nicely presented
Cons: I would have preferred a proper kettle in the room rather than the tea/coffee maker, but that is only a small personal thing

Pros: Premier Inn brand gives confidence that you know what to expect in terms of room features, layout, space etc. This particular location met our expectations well. The room was very clean, comfortable and welcoming. We will stay there again, in fact have booked to do so already. Main reason for staying there is that we have family living nearby in Sunderland who we visit fairly regularly. Staff were nice too!
Cons: Nothing worth mentioning.

The local area has so many interesting places to visit. In just two days we enjoyed Seaton Lifeboat & Heritage Centre, Washington Wildfowl Trust, Washington Old Hall, Angel of the North, National Glass Centre, Sunderland Winter gardens and museum and Ryehope pumping station. We also managed to visit the local pub, The Dun Cow in Seaton and The Coalface in Seaham. Theres still plenty on the list for next time!

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable, enormous bed with plenty of pillows. Excellent, roomy shower. Good selection at breakfast with everything freshly cooked. All the staff we saw were friendly and helpful.
We would definitely consider staying again if in the area or passing through.
Cons: We were disappointed with the packed lunch provided for our onward journey.
