Pros (+) The location in the heart of the Santa Cruz district is fantastic. Very easy to walk to most sights.
Cons (-) The hotel is a maze of 20+ individual homes that have been joined by tunnels, walkways, etc. There is little signage and only a hand drawn paper map provided to guide you. We were literally lost for a good bit of the time finding our room and facilities

Pros (+) The collection of buildings is beautiful and charming and the staff was very helpful after our initial problem with getting us into a nicer room. Well situated in the city. Much more impressive inside than you would expect.
Cons (-) Our first room had mildew in the closet. I was bummed because we lost the spa tub, but they upgraded us to a suite as soon as we pointed out the issue.
